Sorry if its been asked already, or if its something really obvious.

But what shirt number will Ronaldo be wearing over there?

I remember hearing something about his brand “RC7″ conflicting with his Madrid move but cant join the dots.

  2. arsene wenger says:

  8. rc7 says:

When Querios was manager at Real he wanted to buy him for 2 mill.

  9. Wakey says:

I hope every person who was in Old Trafford and Booed when Fergie Subbed Tevez now writes Fergie an apology letter. Its been clear to me for a while that Tevez was using the Fans but that seems to confirm it once and for all.

Atleast at no point did Ronaldo try and play the Fans off against Fergie like Tevez did. I have to say its as if Argies all have a Generic trait that makes them complete twats and I’d be quite glad if we never have another Argie at Old Trafford based on the ones we have had

  10. arsene wenger says:

if payin that much money for an inbred like pepe means success id rather just stick with phil senderos, i didnt really like what keown and them did to ruud that time but swinging out like that at a bloke on the deck face down just aint right

  11. Costas says:

Wakey spot on with everything you say. They are prima donnas. They have a complex that everytone has a vendetta against them.Imagine him fucking off to Shity, only for Bellamy to start ahead of him!

@Corea: No plan for tonight.Just hanging around here until i fall asleep on the keyboard!

  12. Corea says:

I won’t support the player who thinks he is bigger than the club.
I won’t support the player who wants to use the crowd in order to gain attention.
I won’t support the player who doesn’t respect the manager.

    @ Costas

oh no! i hoped you would say “LEt’s go to bed”

Now i have to stay up until you’ll lose consciousness

  13. Corea says:

Where are all this Tevez ad Ronaldo defenders ?

I hope no more phone calls from Fergie. We must stay firm!

    And no Maradona’s relatives please.

  14. Costas says:

Corea, don’t wait for me, really. It could be a while. There will always be Ronaldo and Tevez defenders.I am betting right now that when Tevez returns as an opponent at OT,many fans will cheer for him.

  15. arsene wenger says:

right thats enough for me,il be doing my stepovers in the park tommorow that i learnt watchin my mates giggs soccer school video, about 1992 that was, laters chaps

  16. Wakey says:

@bertie When Real enquired about Young in Jan they were told £27mill. With the money we have and the fact we are an english side buying from an english side and buying an English player I would guess they would push for £30-35mill

  17. Corea says:

    @ Wakey

35 mln ? for Young a lot. But it’s better than 95 mln for Ribery i think.

    @ Costas

aha. i remember. the usual time is 1-30 local Manchester time. ))

  18. Costas says:

    Goodnight Arsene.

  19. Corea says:

    I’m also off, Costas.
No 1.5 hours more for me. Tomorrow my last day off for me before going to work.

Where is suhayl? i miss his epic posts.

    Goodnight.

  20. arsene wenger says:

lol guys,im just popping back to say, next years CL final is at the bernabau stadium, thats a great motivator for your boys as if they need one after the final against barca, but the prospect of playin there in a final? anyway im really really off now, costas corea wakey, have a good night

  21. Costas says:

Yeah, i know Arsene. They will be desperate to get there. I will love it when they get knocked out.

    Goodnight Corea.

  22. Dave Mack says:

Here’s the problem as I see it.

No one player can make up for Ronald. From an on the pitch perspective he has just about everything you want in a “star player”. As Fergie says, “his goal threat is far and away the greatest in world football”. He not only can score every type of goal (watch the 07/08 42 goal video) he can make every type of pass to make a goal for everyone else. So simply irreplaceable.

But that’s not all. He has the looks and image that makes him so commercial even to consumers who have no interest in football. I mean RM are talking about making $100mm from shirt sales alone! (That’s 3m shirts just like Beckham did)

Bottomline for me is that…. 80m wasn’t enough! United would never have sold if they thought they could persuade him to stay long term and Ribery has a face only a mother could love. So if he costs more than 35m he doesn’t do enough for us.

Basicaslly it’s a whole new game and we need “star quality” so I’m thining Pato next year when Milan might risk the wrath of their fans to sell him and Valencia type signings in the meantime.

But fear not … just watch Berba and Rooney next year!!

  23. reddy brek man says:

reddy brek man Said,June 13th, 2009 @16:21 fuck off tevez? use the crowd? no respect for the manager? tevez was desperate to sign for utd but the powers that be didn’t want him, was it saf or the yanks? apparently saf phoned him personally to try to persuade him to sign which tells you that it was more that likely a yanky thing against him. i ask you this, if you was treated like tevez was and then when the clubs best player walks out on you would you go back and play for people who didn’t want you at the club? fuck off tevez, you should hang your heads in shame. you obviously know nothing about football.
this was posted at about 14.30 bst but was moderated. poular site and many posts since. stop the frenzy folks. tevez IS class if he plays for someone else then so what, his utd rep will live on and rightly so. the vitriol makes us bitter i’m sorry to say.

  24. Wakey says:

    @reddy brek man

The thing is though United had been saying all season that it would be sorted once the season was over so they didn’t mistreat him in anyway. He was the one who decided to spend the second half of the season ignoring that and being disrespectful to the club and using the fans against the club. If he had shut his big mouth for a couple of months instead of effectively waging war on Fergie for what seems like little more than to make more money so he can afford to go back to Boca at 28 like he has stated he wants to

Oh and Goal.com are reporting Chelsea are Hijacking citehs deal for him

  25. rc7 says:

    Fuck off Tevez.

  26. Costas says:

Tevez lost my respect when he made the final run in his personal crusade to get a new contract. I am sorry, but United fans were more harsh on Beckham and Van Nistelrooy for smaller “sins”.So why should i respect him?

  27. Costas says:

The Daily Star reports that we could move for Silva for 25 million pounds.I wish it happens.

  28. rc7 says:

Jesus, it seeems being a footballer (very stressful) you only have to work for a couple of years.

  29. rc7 says:

    @Wakey
Good comment. He will go for the dough ie Citeh. If Chelsea offer more the bitters will break the bank just to piss us off. Meanwhile Carlitos will be laughing.

  30. Nemanja says:

I haven’t seen enough of David Silva to say if UTD should sign him or not. I know he plays on the left and is around 24. Supposedly one of the best wingers so if the 25 million is true it is probably a justified amount.

With 25 million spent on Silva and 15 million spent on Valencia, UTD could potentially have 40-60 million left to maybe spend on a central midfield playmaker (Schneijder) and a lead the line striker (Aguero, Benzema, Huntelaar).

The huge positives of having 2/3 wingers coming in is that Wazza will finally be free in the proper central “number 10″ role. This will be the best thing that could happen this season coming. Viva Wayne Rooney.

Also the ever increasing chances of UTD signing “Wonder Kid” Alexis Sanchez. Apperently the new Ronaldo, Maradona, Messi all in one 20 year old player. Never been more excited for an upcoming season. Can’t wait to see the new arrivals in Pre-Season. New kit. New era possibly. Very exciting times ahead for UTD. Roll on 09/10.

    We shall not be moved!!!

  31. nurgle says:

    @wakey

spurs are putting together an offer worth about 20mil for Young – Jenas and Bentley I believe? Obviously no guarantee that would be accepted but might set a starting price

  32. nurgle says:

Tevez will go because he can’t be guaranteed a starting spot, and still wouldn’t be even if he was here next year

  33. Isaiah says:

Ribery is just a good player, not exceptional. Benzema will grace united even more than the lost genius. Let’s go-get Benzema!

  34. Androo says:

WE SHOULD GET BOTH RIBERY AND BENZEMA AND RONALDINJO AND SANCHEZS AND IBRAHIMOVICHS BEST PLAYER IN WORLD!!!!

Only kidding. Half of ManUtd.com messageboards are loaded with that kind of bull. I’d love Ribery to come but their asking price is too much.

  35. FusilliJerry says:

“So and so is too expensive”

“So and so wants to play in Spain”

    “His club won’t sell”

“Why don’t we accept our new status as nobodies and see if players from Wigan, Hull and Wolves are prepared to take a step down, albeit only if we pay their clubs 3x what they’re worth ?”

  36. reddy brek man says:

wakey, it sounds like sour grapes to me. if tev stays at utd you would be happy and anybody who slagged him off would cop an earfull off you. its the fact he’s moving on that utd fans are not best pleased about. such abuse aimed at tevez is uncalled for, and i’d say that 99% of the people who actually go to old trafford would say the same. whether he gose to city or chelsea means absolutely nothing to me, or even if he wants to go back to boca with his pockets busting at the seames! now come clean you want him to stay, so less of the fuck off tevez campaign its just bitchy-ness.

  37. reddy brek man says:

further to the respect debate, why do you cheer that greedy cun1 rio after he was going to walk unless you gave in to his wage demand of £120 grand a week. fickle just fickle! suppose you’ll be booing eagles when he turns out for burnley against utd eh!!

  38. Costas says:

    @reddy brek man:

There is a difference. Rio never manipulated his relationship with the fans to get what he wanted. Rio didn’t make a title deciding game with Arsenal his own farewell party. Rio didn’t constantly talk against the manager in the media. And Rio always was quick to allay fears about him leaving. Players have every right to hold out for the best deal possible. They don’t have the right to think that they are bigger than the team and make their issue bigger than the capture of a record 18th League title. That’s why Tevez turned out to be a bullshiter and that’s why many United fans won’t shed a tear to see the back of him.

  39. Tufty says:

Personally I would rather Valencia and Silva than waste the money on Ribbery.

  40. reddy brek man says:

costas, listen pal you know the script with rio, he had utd up against a wall and the utd were not happy about it (there’s only 1 greedy bastard was the chant) sometimes silence can be deafenning. tev wanted his contract sorting or be told that he could find another club. utd tried pullin joorabooa’s pants down by offering about 15 million only when it looked like city and the dippers were sniffin round him. i don’t for 1 minute blame saf for what is happening i think its more to do with the money men hoping that they’d get him on the cheap, trouble is its backfired, now according to reports it looks like utd’s loss is somebody elses gain. if he gose to city then its a step backwards in the respect that they aint playing european footy but the flip side of the coin is that he’ll get more games (and money$$) tevez was probably one of the reasons why utd have had success whilst he has been at utd (1 man dose not make a team) and his work rate and attitude to the game is on a par to rooney, they love to play and rightly so. i think that the way he’s been cold shouldered was disrespectfull and showed a lack of professionalissame by the club and i think they won’t make another mistake like it again. i personnally wouldn’t call tev because he gave his all for the cause, to have what seems to be a hate campaigne against tev is shocking to say the least. everyone has a right to voice their opinion but if utd fail to hold on to the prem next season then it won’t be down to ronny nobbin off to madrid but probably down to not havin a mad man charging all over the pitch! i’m not fallin out with anyone but in the cold light of day its been a bad move by utd. off for a pint now my fingers are killin!!!

  41. Costas says:

    @reddy brek man:

I do remember the “Rio sign the deal” chant at the time, but there could have been more.I wasn’t condining the attitude of the fans then.At the same time i can’t condone people booing Sir Alex in favor of Tevez. It’s disgraceful. And as you said,Ferguson isn’t the reason all of this happened. The money aren’t coming from his pockets. If it did,he would have probably wanted to keep Tevez. So here’s my question:why did Tevez target Sir Alex?Because he didn’t play him regulary? That’s what happens at United.Your place in the starting line up is never certain. In the eyes of some,he was better than Berbatov. In the eyes of others,he wasn’t.United have not been professional with their treatment of him but he hasn’t done himself justice either. As far as next season is concerned,we will have to wait and see.We always talk about attacking players, but we can’t discount what part Rio,Vida and Carrick have played in the last 3 years. And thank god they will be here next season.Lets see how Tevez does at City now.

  42. reddy brek man says:

costas your jumpin the gun mate, tev aint a city player or anyother clubs player yet. your questions, did tev target saf personnally for not playing him? i don’t think so, every good pro wants to play as many games as they can. i can’t recall him slaggin saf off for not playing him all the time and i remember him scoring and lookin to the directors box and holding his ears which tells me his protest was aimed at somebody’S else. the booing of saf was probably hoping that he could pull the strings to get tev on board, if that would ov happened then it’d be happy days and tev is a hero still. at utd there is a strong rotation policy which bloods the future of the club and rightly so, that’s why utd have continuing success but i didn’t see tev knocking or calling anyother players around him hoping to further his place in a competative squad, i think he accepted it but he wanted to know where his future lied. i don’t want to back you into a corner but who would you have tev or berb? you point to the fact that rio, carrick and vid have played over the past few years but its more than them (vander, shea, fletch….how many more? there is no I in team (ta da ronny) it just baffles me that everybody wants tev to sign but when its not lookin likely its fook off tev! what will you do if he has a change of heart, you’d look a right jessie. don’t take offence pal but i think rejection on both sides is playin a part here, utd want him and tev wants to stay but HE and saf don’t decide the outcome unfortunately. tell me this and tell me no more costas, dippers have been sniffin round tuncay from boro, tuncay in a utd shirt would get about 15 goals a season no danger, he’d be about 10 mill at tops (not even city would bid more!) then next season benzema from lyon when they’ll sell him.

  43. Costas says:

I think his beef with SAF,and he mentioned it at least in 2 interviews, was that he wasn’t getting the starts he deserved. And he specifically mentioned the Sunderland game which he didn’t start even though he scored 4 in the previous game. There were digs at SAF.A month ago, Maradona made a mention about Tevez complaining to him about the “old man” having it out for him. That was never confirmed nor was it denied either.
Of course it is a team game.I just mentioned players who i think have played a larger role than Tevez. And as you corrected me, there are some others too.Tevez has played a part, but i don’t think his departure would hurt the team’s title chances that much.Especially if we got another prolific striker help out now that Ronaldo is gone.Since you asked,i would say that Tev and Berb bring different things to the club and in an ideal world,i would like both to stay. But you know what?Maybe i would prefer Tevez.
I didn’t want to feel the way i do about Tevez, but his actions in the last month have really disappointed me.I understand him being insecure about his future. That’s never nice. But he could have made these noises after the title was clinched. And i don’t like professional footballers who get payed what he does to talk about horrible and terrible treatment. He comes from a country going though rough times,so he should know what bad treatment is really about. And the other puzzling thing is that we made the offer he wanted yet he doesn’t look like commiting to us.That’s where i question if all this has been about the lack of respect he feels or that he will have a better contract at City.
I am saying that he wil leave based on what i read from the news sites.Last week a source of his said that Fergie’s phonecall didn’t have much success. That does hint where things are going.I hope i am wrong. If he stays and gives his all(which he undoubtedly will),then it’s up to fans like me to put our foot in our mouth and put the team above anything else.

  44. Dani says:

We could go for Hamsik too, I’m surprised he’s not even being mentioned. Hamsik and Sanchez could be huge in the future, IMHO. If we spend some money on them (and maybe Valencia), we could come hard after Benzema and Ribery. That would be strong position.

Wasn’t Fergie given 100 million, plus Ronaldo’s money for the market?b I think I read it at goal.com…
