It’s official. RoM is on the Franck Ribery bandwagon. Sign him up, give him the number 7 shirt, and fuck off Carlos Tevez.
A moment of clarity…

If Bayern continue behaving like this it will be impossible.
Let them have the player. The player who doesn’t want to play there.
But we don’t exactly know what the player himself thinks about this.
PS. We could have signed him instead of Nani for 25 mln 2 years ago.
We can’t get him. Not on this price. We can afford to but we won ‘t buy anyone else.
I don’t know, i favour benzema, because he’s younger than ribery and we could get the best out of him…the only problem is that they are reluctant to sell him…And Bayern are demanding a huge amount of money for ribery…
Lyon won’t sell Benzema because they think that they are going to get more money for him next year after the World Cup.
or they can get less money if he flops in the world cup, in fact if he flops we shouldnt even think about moving for him lol
Remember, this is a league that 2 unknowns from Wolfsburg took by storm, and who regards Luca Toni as a very good striker.
France are in the group with Serbia. 8 points adrift with 2 games in hand.
Firstly they have to get there
He was a flop in the European Championship.
YES!!!… We need a real top class player like Ribery, Not just a fair player like Valencia…
To replace a top player like Ronaldo, we should go for a super winger Ribery. It’s no use to sign a player like Valencia and sooner make him sit on the bench…. as he simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH…
Marq and Corea make good points. Which begs the question:Which 2 players are equiped to replace Ronaldo and Tevez?
Yes…What a shame we can’t get him now. Last season we haven’t scored too many goals, we really do need a goal-machine, now that ron’s gone. Benzema would’ve been the ideal buy…Now i am hoping bayern will lower the price a little. Ribery isn’t worth 50m+.
We need Ribery. He’s the only one I know who can fill the void. Benzema’ll be part of our future long term thing. It’ll be okay if we sign him next year, albeit at a huge price, but Ribery needs to be transferred now! I mean before pre-season. I don’t want him performing badly because of not having a pre-season with us. Either way we’re still gonna who the Premiership next season.
agreed with Fze123…….I think it would be a wise decision to go for Benzema or Aguero (or Both..wishful thinking? no..we’ve got the money now..;) )….Ribery is 27 and Bayern are demanding a hell lot of money…I say we should not sign ribery if his price tag doesnt come down below 40 mil…benzema is my choice…and If tevez leaves then Aguero plz…:)
I can’t wait till Tevez fucks off to City!
“and fuck off Carlos Tevez”
Yet another completely unnecessary and irrelevant dig at someone who has played a massive part in our recent success. Class.
TheRedBaron Said:”He’s the only one I know who can fill the void.”
He’s the only one WE know who can fill the void.
Sir Alex may/will know some unknown who can do it.Or Nani, who has potential.
Funny thing is that as good a player as Ribery is, he desperately wants to play for Madrid or Barca and, were we to sign him, we’d be lucky to get two years out of him before he was agitating for a move there. Can’t wait for the ‘fuck off Ribery’ stuff on here if that happens…
i’m on the Ribery bandwagon too. We need a playmaker, and Ribery is class.
@Corea:When is the Tevez news expected to come?
ALEXIS SANCHEZ
Hy everybody. I have been a fan o this team since I was 8 and that’s about 20 years already. Just wanted all of you to know that Alexis Sanchez is the best type of business Fergie could do and I don’t say it just because I am living in Chile.
I have been living in Chile for the last year and understand all the fuss for this guy. Sanchez is the best player Chile has ever produced, better then Ivan Zamorano and Marcelo Salas by a mile. He has outclassed every other southamerican player in the qualies for Sothafrica, including the types of Valencia, Robinho and Kaka, and is the main reason (together with the coach) why Chile is standing second in the table just one point behind Brazil .
I am not saying he is better than Kaka, don’t understand me wrong, because he is just 20 and has tons to improve. But with the right people arround and Fergie guiding him he could become a REALLY BIG player for us. I saw virtually every united game this season and have been to the stadium in Chile watching Sanchez play, he is a better dribbler then Ronaldo and always shows comittment to the team, tracks backs, gets the ball and never stays in the flour after a foul. He is also very similar in the sense that he doesn’t always stay wide.
He is much better than Ronaldo was when we fisrt signed him and also a lot more proven, which means it won’t be such a big gamble as many suggest. He was the best in Chile playinf fo Colo-Colo, he was the best in Argentina when he played for River and has had more then 30 appearences for Udinese in his first season. Fergie: sign him up!!!!! His manager is in england arranging a transfer for this summer to the premier league and I hope not to some other team.
@ costas
ashley young and pato
We should keep Tevez. He brings spark and enthusiasm to the team, and has scored really important goals for us last season. But we still need another quality striker, a winger and a midfielder…80m is more than enough, even if the prices of the players were high. I agree with TheRedBaron, fergie should start buying as soon as possible before pre-season so the newcomers will be prepared.
@ Manchester United forever
i don’t know. The internationals are over for now.
I’ve heard that in 1-2 weeks time the matter should be resolved.
I won’t support the player who thinks he is bigger than the club.
I won’t support the player who wants to use the crowd in order to gain attention.
I won’t support the player who doesn’t respect the manager.
World class player. Would love it if we bought him for £40m or less.
And to think United signed Nani for 17m and Bayern got Ribery for 17m…
Last year we didn’t want to sell Ronaldo. And this year Bayern don’t want to sell Ribery. So why should they sell him? They definitely don’t need the money at the moment! Ribery also has stated quite a few times that his preferred destinity would be Spain.
In my opinion Ribery is also quite a moody player. When Bayern struggled this season he didn’t show up regulary with great perfomances like he did the season before. On his day he can be a really beautiful player, but when he’s unhappy you won’t get good perfomances.
After Ronaldo I want a player who really wants to play for United and gives everything everytime! If we just lose Ronaldo and are able to keep Tevez (which I still really hope), I’d be perfectly happy if we only sign Valencia and give more chances to talents like Welbeck, Nani and Tosic!
vidic will get ya 15
Unfortunately, the club don’t seem interested in Young. I don’t know why. And Milan have said that Pato is not for sale.
I’d say blow the lot on getting Aguero and Sanchez here and not bother with Valencia
trust me weed NEED to buy Sergio Aguero even if its £40-45mil.we should also buy alexis sanchez for about £20-25mil check out their videos on youtube and tell me im wrong
Couldn’t agree more…. let those who want to play for us stay and those who’ve had their heads turned can fuck themselves!
Whatever it is, please dont pay 25m for Tevez
Sanchez joining Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez (if he stays) in attack would be great, even though he only scored 41 goals in 128 appearances. But he’s only 20, and i think he will be exceptional if he comes..
HE…WANTS…TO…PLAY…FOR…MADRID. He ain’t coming folks.
Benzema, I am not so sure. Ofcourse he is a good player. But signing him probably means playing Rooney on the left, which I dont want. I dont know how flexible Benzema is. Fergie wants a fluid front line to make us very unpredictable. Is Benzema or for that matter Ribery/Valencia capable of that?
With the cash we have now, we shouldn’t pay that money for Tevez. Maybe his future is blue after all.
yeah sanchez can be a good buy….but after signing Valencia I dont think Sir Alex would go for another winger…..Can Sanchez play as a striker??
@Paul Scholes, Really:
Lol.Are you going to Middlesbrough?
Ribery would be a nice replacement for Ronaldo..
But seriously the prices being quoted are outrageous.. I mean 40-50million pounds :O ?? That is insane amount of money.
Btw does anyone know how good Sanchez is?? Haven’t seen him play!
Hi, I’m Franck From Bayern. I don’t like it here, Sir Alex please sign me up…
I got offer from Real & Barca too but fuck them. United is the best club in the world!!!
I’m rooting for sanchez as well . from what i have heard and seen of the guy , he looks better than a 20 yr old ronaldo…and he will be much cheaper than most of our other targets .
sign sanchez a.s.a.p….looks like valencia also on his way . which is great . last but not the least we should try for a holding midfielder . depending on what the deal with hargo is exactly , we could go for a short term replacement (gattuso) or long term (yaya toure/fernando gago)
fuck off tevez? use the crowd? no respect for the manager? tevez was desperate to sign for utd but the powers that be didn’t want him, was it saf or the yanks? apparently saf phoned him personally to try to persuade him to sign which tells you that it was more that likely a yanky thing against him. i ask you this, if you was treated like tevez was and then when the clubs best player walks out on you would you go back and play for people who didn’t want you at the club? fuck off tevez, you should hang your heads in shame. you obviously know nothing about football.
Zico – yeah…he can play striker as well…so perfect ronaldo replacement then
Seems like every player we are after is being refused permission by his club…tough times upon us…things looking bleak.
I think Sanchez and Valencia would be two good signings to help replace Ronaldo. I would still like us to let Tevez go and bring in a new striker. Berba and Rooney are play makers not all out finishers. I would like to see a finisher but as always in Fergie we trust!
Really cant see SAF spending that sort of money on a player who has stated he prefers Spain !! I think we are looking at Valencia and going from there with the squad we have .
@ ZiCo: Chile always play a 3-4-3 with Sanchez up front on the right. HE is better Valencia, that I am sure about.
Are you for real scott?
I’m on!!
For the right price of course!
Let’s get him in! He’s the only realistic available player on the Market who goes somewhere near to replacing the skill of ronnie!
I like Valencia but he’s not enough to replace CR7!
Maybe the young Sanchez? He has bags of potential & cud thrive at the greatest club in the world!
This is for those who didn’t see Sanchez play, a star in the making. We should sign him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBQHfMNg1qI
@anant
thanks
then I also want Sanchez….:)
btw some people on other websites keep saying about Eden hazard ..anyone knows him?
@ZiCo:Eden Hazard is class.Reminds me of Ronaldo…
why would get someone whose “dream” is to play in spain? we dont want another of this “dream” episode happening 3-4 years later.
anyway, i found this video on sanchez – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLCBnWClwmE
ribéry won’t come to United but we can get Lennon/valencia or douglas costa.
we don’t need strickers we already have Kiko Macheda and Danny Wellbeck.
But we do need a goalkeeper and I’m a huge fan of David Ospina.
and what about Hargreaves is he going to play next year?? we really need him now.
Tosic looks bad hope that Ljacic will be better
He’s good, but he cant pass to a free player
Hasn’t anyone noticed???
FErgie will never buy him….he’s over priced
Can u deliver shirts to singapore???
It sure looks like Valencia is a done deal. Of course, he can’t “replace” Ronaldo – who else has that package of power, speed, and skill ? But he would allow Rooney and Berbatov more freedom.
Mostly, though, I think that the team is going to undergo a very substantial re-organization of its attacking formation – and I have to think that SAF is very well aware of this which is no doubt why he was willing to “give away” without any of the telephone calls and flying visits of last summer. Probably, the deal was done last summer with a final year “on loan” so, one would assume, SAF has no doubt be scouting and planning for Ronaldo’s departure with a new structure in view. Scholes is done, Giggs has some more in his tank but only as a “super sub”, and I think that the signals are pretty clear that Carlitos is now viewed as surplus-to-requirements since he won’t accept a squad role.
Since last year’s EPL champions and CL runner’s up were the lowest scoring unit for the past three/four years, it would also argue that its over-reliance on CR was a weakness not a strength – no matter how great an individual talent he is and no matter what individual contributions he made. SAF is pretty ruthless in making tough decisions and he must have thought that Ronaldo was past his “best-by date”. In fact, he might even have come to the conclusion that he was selling a virus to TheVirus ! We’ll have to wait for the next instalment of his autobiography for his real thoughts on that.
Ribery is a terrific player but he’s almost 28 and Bayern don’t need to sell. So, as Tony Soprano would say, “Fugghedaboudit”.
If he buys Valencia and doesn’t go for Benzema then he’s probably going to switch back to a 4-4-2. That probably means that Nani gets his shot or else he might have already written him off and, perhaps, go back for Alexis Sanchez or someone like that.
If he fights hard – and pays high – for Benzema then he’d probably want some experienced back-up, too. Someone like Emile Heskey would be ideal to be the back-up bulldozer.
But no matter what he does about the forwards, the bigger issue has to be making sure that the team’s defensive foundation doesn’t just crumble. VDS is now close to the end of a long, excellent career; the other two keepers don’t inspire confidence. Rio is showing worrying signs of fragility – and he’s been UTD’s best player over the past three years. Gary Neville is past it. My guy, Wesley Brown, is also fragile and, so, unreliable. John O’Shea is, well, John O’Shea – a valuable member of a team but not necessarily a “cornerstone”. Rafael is defensively naive – I have no clue about his brother, Fabio. Jonny Evans and Vidic and Evra are all class-acts but it’s there neighbours who create uncertainty. Likewise, the central midfield is a place that harbours too many mediocre players – but no really great ones. So, I think that there is a crying need to make a HUGE signing to upgrade that department.
I wrote before that I’d spend the CR-cash on Benzema and Daniele di Rossi. I still think that way. But what I think is – like what Scott and the rest of you think – irrelevant. What matters is what SAF has already planned. We have a few weeks of excitement in watching those plans reveal themselves. And, who says it’s “silly season” – ya gotta love it.
Ribery and Benzema are risks because they play in sub standard leagues. They will both take time to adapt to what is a much more difficult competition, neither of them would make any kind of immediate impact if signed.
At that price. No thanks.
We need to strenghthen in other areas.
Plus United get the money in 4 installments.
Ribery ill make immediate impact, believe me.
@ AlphaRS
4 installments ? i hope it’s not true. We need money now! what a fuck ?
Oh and Neville to Middlesbrough?! Either sell him or retire him.
Brown and Rafael are both better players and I don’t think the guy will eer be number 1 choice again.
Not £50-60 million pounds worth of impact though. He’s a great player no doubt but if Ferguson pays that kind of money on a risk like Ribery I think he’ll regret it.
@Corea
I read somewhere that United are getting the money in 4 installments.
Santander gave Real the money on an interest free loan. INTEREST FREE!
Ribery is too expensive. He might make an immediate impact but at that price we will not be getting any other players.
I don’t buy into this “Ronaldo is irreplaceable”. Last year proved we don’t need to rely on his goals as much. I don’t know what the stats are but didn’t 8 or 10 of his goals come from free kicks/penalties, goals that can easily be spread around the team.
agreed, would love to see ribery, but as everyone seems to agree,he might be little expensive. Instead i’m sayin aguero who is available at the right price, sanchez as the next exciting prospect and valencia as the guy who takes the immediate pressure off sanchez. That?s realistic i think
I think we should buy Afellay from PSV he’s a very good player with great potenial.we also need a goal scoring machine since ronaldo was our top striker for the past three years.if i was Fergie, i would go for Benzema he’s superb.
Another vote for Sanchez..not that our votes count for anything. The guy looks brilliant. Much like Ronaldo was when he arrived. Looks a lot better than Valencia and..well, lets not mention Nani.
Id take Ribery first, but i dont think we can get him for a fair price.
We need more goals. We scored the least amount since the start of the premiership? I know we still won it. But goals is what we failed to score in the Champions Leagu Final.
We will NOT get Ribery and I can’t say I would be too bothered. Agree with denton but Valencia as well as he looks a pretty good bloody player in my opinion. Played really well second half against the Argies the other night. De Rossi has not been on our radar though has he? Ideally Benzema, Valencia and De Rossi.
A mate has phoned to say on teletext we have put bids in for Benzema and Marko Vucinic? I cannot find anything to back this up though. Will be back in an hour.
@ AlphaRS
i’ve copypasted that 2 days ago. keanesmagichat said he believes it will be a one off payment.
I hope for a 06-07 season start. 5-1! So fresh and what a season!
Everything will be different next season. What a expectation!
Marko Vucinic just signed a new contract with Roma.
I’ve jumped on the benzema bandwagon, hes young , strong scores loads of goals he’ll be like saha without the injuries and the best young striker in the world. Plus he looks like ERIC CANTONA
@Corea
I think we just need Benzema, Valencia, another midfielder.
Ribery is ridiclously priced. No way should SAF be sending that much money to Germany. When was the last time United paid for the finished article to wear that number 7 shirt? The majority of the time they have grown in to it. Beckham and Ronaldo being good examples. I think it should be unallocated this season.
@ Fze123
1. It were only rumours that we made an offer.
2. He signed extention and did it some time ago.
Good player. But 22-25 mln ? Crazy days.
too many negatives way overpriced, he doesn’t want to play in england because of the weather so he’ll hate it in manchester and lets not forget he hasn’t proven himself in a top league german and french are inferior leagues and have been for some time
The funny thing is ,we could have had him for same 17 m we paid for Nani. Shame that we had an offer of 10 m was turned down.i dont think neither Ribery nor Benzemz are coming( at least this year).
Both Ribery and Benzema are class. I would love to see them at United, but both players have their hearts set on playing in Spain – Ribery for Barcelona and Benzema for the facists.
Maybe if we bid 40m for benzema, lyon would agree to sell him…? I mean, they don’t want to sell him because they think they’ll get more money after the world cup, but will he be worth more than 35m next year? I don’t think so.
Aguero,Sanchez,Douglas Costa,Eden Hazard,Sotiris Ninis…any of these very promising young players could do a job but with this 6+5 rule coming in over the next 2 years,we need a few more English or home grown players. For this reason,Ashley Young would be a good option and he won’t want to join Madrid in a few years. If Tevez leaves Aguero would be a superb replacement as he is so young and(coming from Atletico) won’t want to join Madrid in a few years either!
thanks Boogeyman…hazard looks class to me…
btw Valencia is proven in the premiership and I think thats why fergie is going for him cuz he doesnt want to take risk…but we may still end up buying Sanchez as stretford972 Said…but i think Rooney will shine next year and I a am sure he will…
Why buy a player who has made it clear he wants to play in Spain? Do we really want another winger who tries to force his way out of the club come the season’s end to join Madrid or Barcelona at the end of every season? Brilliant though he is I dont think Ribery is the man we need.
Bayern want 87m. We already have 80m, 7m should be easy
On one player KJ? No chance. To the person who said he looked like Eric. How can you compare that ugly little freak to the King. Eric has film star looks and class.
So Munich are being tight arses again.
Paid quite alot for Hargreaves aswell.
Eto to replace Tevez, Valencia (if we’re outpriced) to replace Ronaldo.
Hargreaves was worth every penny. Hope he’ll be back next season in top form.
Huddlestone anyone ? )
Yeah wasnt saying we paid too much for Hargreaves, just saying Bayern made it hard.
Huddlestone? Another CM?
Huddlestone is good…similar to carrick actually..plus he’s english, but don’t think tottenham will sell.
He is a DM ) They all say we need one ))
http://www.tribalfootball.com/villa-deal-tottenhams-huddlestone-imminent-250457
Shun all this talk of the french and german leagues being inferior, a good player’s a good player. Ribery does well 4 d french team and 4 bayern in europe. Benzema also does well 4 lyon in europe. The major problem is dat little monster face(looks a bit like gary) wants to play in spain and he’s not worth over £35m. I Would like benzema and sanchez and a solid rugged enforcer in the midfield.
problem with heddlestone is he is too big and heavy,he has 60 minute legs, the other 30 minutes is the problem as he is a pretty good player
Every player we are considering eventually wants to play for madrid-this is beyond horrifying. Ribery has said it, and so has Benzema. Fuck I hate madrid.
Huddlestone is obviously United class….
@John Ferry
We already Real’s feeder club. So it doesn’t really matter anymore.
if huddlestone was united class why did spurs run out and splash the money on palacious?
@ AlphaRS
i also kinda like him but
Hargo, Fletch, Carrick, Ando, Scholes, Gibson, Possebon..
i don’t know why you all say we need one…
Huddlestone’s a good young player who can get better. But as someone said earlier, he’s a bit like carrick, just bigger.
@ arsene wenger
true. and of course while Campbell didn’t play for Spurs why the hell he will play for ManUnited ?
Sometimes it’s more difficult than you first think.
Is Huddlestone United class? Not too sure, he is a good passer of the ball and can put himself about. His fitness and weight seem to be a problem though. He looked a lot better last season after losing the poundage but he more often than not does not even start for Spurs. Maybe at United he will prosper.
@Arsene Wenger
I’m being sarcastic. We already have too many players who aren;t quite good enough in the team never mind the squad.
@Corea
None of those names in midfield stand out as being brilliant.
Some have potential, some seen past it, some need a chance.
Was Diego Forlan good enough for ManU ?
Sometimes it is necessary to find the right club and the right manager.
Tottenham is not an ordinary club with not an ordinary owner.
I’d better not judge any player there.
isn’t anyone worried about the spanish league next season? they currently have the 3 best players in the world. Messi, kaka and soon ronaldo, and you never know, maybe kaka and ronaldo will form a good partnership. maybe it will be close in the champions league next season. i hope that won’t be the case.
oh i was gonna say lol alpha, people keep sayin how good huddlestone is but a few of my spurs pals tell me he is quality but has diaby syndrome,4 bad games 1 good game then injury for 3 weeks
I totally agree. What an amazing talent. Also, his personality is almost the exact opposite of Ronaldo
We are not a whorehouse, we are not Real Madrid.
Maybe some Attacking Midfielder ? Not a holding one.
@ Corea – we do have a lot of midfielders but only hargo & fletcher can be considered defensive midfielders and with hargo’s fitness problems, we do need a back up.
corea,in defence of campbell, darren bents goal record, anelka didnt play for arsenal for much of his first season, then it took him 9 games to score his first (or was it 19),that was when we were madrids favourite supermarket
so darren bent could have been frazier campbells ian wright this season, but he could have retiired darren bent given another run of games
arsene wenger
Rednapp (dislike the fella) bought Defoe and Keane.
They already had Pavliuchenco and Bent. Why the hell he would have used Fraizer instead ? Just like Rossi’s trip to Newcastle.
Oh no! we have Gibson, we have Carrick who is classified as a DM.
IFs ? IF Fletch, Hargo and Carrick were injuried ? Awful! Let’s buy 50 DM and we’ll all be happy.
the thing is frazier cambell was in a lose lose situation,no goals back to united,or to championship on loan,or plnty of goals and back to united to join the que,his first chance to shine in the prem(with spurs) was probably his last chance to earn a united place
@Arsene Wenger
United probably have the weakest central midfield out of the top 4.
Controversial I know but comparing man for man it may be true!
@Corea
Forlan was good enough for United he just didn’t get a chance to show it on enough occasions.
SAF plays players out of position supressing their talents. Rooney and Anderson are classic examples. Obviously for the good of the team.
And yes we most definately need a creative midfielder.
It’s infuriating that la liga have the best 3 players in the world right now.
the thing is spurs director of football (daniel comoli) signer frazer campbell, neither junde ramos or redknapp so it was hard for the kid to be given trust
Huddlestone? Is that we have come to? I thought that Vucinic would be the last strange name to be linked with us. I think we need something else in midfield.
It all depends on the formula on Fergie’s mind.
We didn’t need creative midfielder because we had Ronaldo.
It all depends.
alpha,i think you have the strongest 3 man midfield in my opinion, maybe not the most technically gifted central pair, fletcher hargreaves and anderson could squeeze the life out of arsenal and liverpool, if they could play keepball and get fat frank lampard running for 20-30 minutes they would knacker chelsea as well
What about Joey Barton? I’m sure he’ll be cheap (i am joking, dont worry, I havng gone insane!)
@ Costas
it was just a new name to refresh a discussion, mate ))
they all say we need a DM, so i took the plunge ))
i think man united will go for a 4-4-2 next season with wingers, or a 4-5-1 with berba uptop
It’s ok Corea, i was just kidding. We will hear stranger names before it’s over. From the Tottenham team,i would fancy Jenas, but not on his form in the last 4 years.
VDS
Brown Rio Vida Evra
Hargo Carrick
Valencia Berba Nani
Rooney
4-2-3-1
too early..
i think its exciting times for everyone around united but also for united, this season coming could be fergies greatest or his toughest yet,his next two signings will either be genius or they will boost ronaldo’s ratings even higher
@ Costas
No, maybe Modric ?
@ Corea – Carrick isnt a DM, he’s a central MF. I thot gibson was on his way out??? I agree wit u on the creative MF though. Anybody heard about the potential nani moutinho swap?
id like modric from spurs, im so custom to bad defendin i dont even think about defenders any more,i only know about vidic rio terry and carvalho, they are the only defensive type players i could talk about, defensive midfield? what is this invisible position
problem is, he will cost too much, and he would prefer to go to Real Madrid. Benzema would also cost too much, and Lyon want to keep him until at least next season – also, we just sold a winger, and so buying another striker shouldn’t be the first priority. Silva is a winger, and wouldn’t cost too much, but he would prefer to stay in Spain. Villa is good, and wouldn’t cost too much, but he is a striker and would prefer to stay in Spain. Valencia is probably the weakest player of the lot, but would prefer to play in England, plays on the wing, and won’t cost too much.
There’s only one Ronaldo, he will be difficult to replace
real lack of mature english talent going around, thats all the transfer window exposes
Holding midfielder )) this is not one of my strongest points )
I think that it is always a risk spending more than 25 million on any player.
If Berba doesnt shine next season then he will look like an expensive mistake. If Ronaldo does not shine at Real then heads will roll in Madrid.
Robinho hasnt won the league for City has he ? One player is not going to win a league on their own but they can upset the team by demanding twice as much money and special treatment.
30 million + the prestige of playing for the biggest and best club in the world should be incentive enough for any player and recompense enough for any club.
I think Fergie would NEVER go beyond 40million and even then it would have to have been Kaka or Messi or similar level.
Ribery 65million – Fuck Off. Not a chance.
Modric? Not so much.Give him another season to really prove himself.
English sides have been relatively quiet as of yet.
i think the u21’s tournament will be the big shop window for the english clubs this year,i cant really see any huge transfers coming into this country
fergie should have held out for 20 mill plus kaka,or 50 plus christiano ronaldo’s commercial rights, that would have made it interesting
I think we got the best deal we could. No one will ever get a deal like that ever again.I just hope the market becomes reasonable again.
hopefully it will settle back to a more normal range of prices asap
Arsene @ 19:15 – once the deal was agreed, and the money was in place, there wasn’t going to be any more dickering.
AF looks ahead – and he’s probably been doing so since last summer. Didn’t Whelan – the Wigan chairman – say that UTD have been watching all of Wigan’s games this year. You can be sure that they weren’t watching Titus Bramble ! They were “running the rule over” Valencia.
There are also reports that UTD have already had one bid for Alexis Sanchez rejected – so you have to figure that he’s on the radar, too. He’s a little guy – 5′8″ – who is similar to Aguero, but without the Maradona-baggage. From what I’ve read, he’s described as a “forward” – not a striker, not a winger but just a “forward”.
Like I wrote earlier, I’m still of the opinion that UTD need a “proper” strong midfielder in the de Rossi/Gattuso style; and there are issues in central defence and goal that can’t be overlooked.
fuckin hell. Why has nobody said Wesley Schneider. Come on surely I must get agreements. Was the best at the Euro’s. Kaka has took his place and is a quality quality attacking creative midfielder. 20 million should do it.
Makes you wonder what Ryan Giggs and Tierry Henry would have been worth if their prime was today. If United accepted the installments, then that’s a joke.Real basically have done a 20 million signing for the next 4 years.
i think we could’ve got more than 80m if we pushed it.
I said Sneijder the other day!! Someone might remember. I also said Schweinsteiger! Anyone else agree?
“Market conditions” might be influenced by the Ronaldo/Kaka mad-money or something like economic sanity might prevail. The mad money spent by TheVirus might be a one-off and that would leave UTD with a load of money in a depressed economic situation. Or, other teams might feel that they want to spend, spend, spend, too. IT’s too soon to tell – certainly, Bayern seems to be banking on mad money but they can just wait, as far as I’m concerned.
@Drabik:I remember,but don’t agree….
Sneijder and Schweinsteiger for me are from the same Beckham mould but not as good. While i do agree that we need a player good at dead balls(corners and free kicks), i wouldn’t like either one of them.We need someone like Giggs:Good with the ball at his feet and also a good crosser.
the instalments payments dont really matter,as long as real madrid must have guaranteed the purchase against something worth the value, so the banks will always know united are 80mill in credit if they wish to spend 80 mill tommorow
Yea you said that the other day Costas, but I think Schweinsteiger could work.
Valencia is pretty much a done deal. He will allow SAF to build the team now around Rooney. SAF won’t panic buy. He will buy Tevez or a replacement. We will need another holding midfielder if Hargo doesn’t make it. He will buy in January if necessary or till prices become more sensible.
I’ve just read what the Barcelona president has just said about the Virus;
“Madrid buy superstars, we make them”
@Costas:Isn’t Nani both?Yes,I know he hogs the ball.Yes,his judgement is not as good as it should be.But he has potential,so I hope Sir Alex puts his faith in the boy.
Drabik it depends.I think that Schwein has a better chance at making it than Sneijder. And i was thinking about him last year during the Euros. But i don’t know what kind of season he has had.I also liked Podolski.Tough to say.
Yes Boogeyman,Nani is what i am talking about. One more wouldn’t be bad would it?I hope this is the season that kickstarts Nani’s career.
“Funny thing is that as good a player as Ribery is, he desperately wants to play for Madrid or Barca and, were we to sign him, we’d be lucky to get two years out of him before he was agitating for a move there. Can’t wait for the ‘fuck off Ribery’ stuff on here if that happens…”
Ain’t that the truth. he’s said he wants to go to Barca already.
Benzema also has sid he doesn’t want to play in England so what’s the point in getting him?
Huntelaar whilst neither fast nor particularly mobile has the knack of being in the right place at the right time and could be the finisher to play with Rooney/Berbatov. I was up for dumping Berbatov as I didn’t think he fitted into our style of play (fast counter attacking), but now that Ronnie has gone our style of play will probably change anyway which might suit Berba better, and also might work for Huntelaar. Rooney has got to have a crack down the middle. Surely Fergie can’t ignore how well he has done recently there in an England shirt
I think Ashley Young would be a good buy and I’d have thought we could get him for 20 mil odd. I’m not a fan of Nani but Fergie seems to have different ideas. He could have a go on the right for a while.
We should definately grab Glen Johnson too
A Ch.League side has made a bid for Johnson and it was accepted today.Liverpool and Arsenal wouldn’t spend so much on a right back.So that leaves us and Chelsea.
I know i said it in another topic, just reiterating.
he is OVER-RATED!!!! sorry for yahs
I thought skysports earlier said chelsea, liverpool and man city have all made bids?
I’d have been well up for Ribery mind, had he expressed some interest and if the price was 45/50 mil or less. He should still be worth that when it came to resale time.
Eto is a possibility up front I guess. Great player but ego might not go down well
Bitter, deluded dippers are already getting giddy.
Drabik, the Portsmouth chairman has said that it’s a club that lays in the Ch.League.I can’t see it being Liverpool. If it’s Chelsea,it shows you why they are so mismanaged. They will pay a lot of money for a player they had in the past but they weren’t very patient on.Not to mention that they payed a ton of cash to buy a player in that position last summer!
Problem being, he doesn’t like the English weather by a lot of accounts. Can’t get another reluctant player.
@red ranter
“doesn’t like the weather” or “my missus hasn’t settled”
Isn’t this agent speak for “i’ve just been offerred a shit load of cash to move”
Not that I’m being cynical like.LoL
rc7 lol
who dont like the weather in england?? scarface? he is from strasbourg or one of them practically german parts of france where everyone follows german football, does germany get much better weather than the uk?
no but Spain does
Arsene Wenger:
“I don’t like the weather”.
Translation: Give me more money.
@arsene
No, don’t think so. It’s effing freezing in winter. Like Milan, Turin, Serbia etc etc. Maybe thats why they have a 5 week winter break. Effing boiling hot in the summer. Most people disappear up a mountain for the cool air.
lol remember alx hleb, london is too noisy, prefered gettin splinters in his ass on the bench
to be honest cold weather is easier to deal with unless your well used to the heat, surely?
its a sad game now footie,no one does it for the love, its all about the money, not many of these players will be great managers because of the example they have set chasin the £$ ,they wont have the right to expect players to be loyal to them
hey costas, have you ever visited the pathenon? is that what its called?
Guys check this out
Costas jas just explained me the wingers, defencive midfielders, holding midfielder etc terms )) No i know what the game is all about
D
Anyway, i don’t believe we are signing Johnson. Good player but slightly overated i agree. We would not play Albania in the Premiership and we have the players.
Agree with Costas. Poor strategy by Chelsea. 22 mln is it ? Great.
You know why i think the weather excuse is ridiculous?Because i moved from Greece to England when i was 9 and it took me 3 days to get used to the colder weather. Now granted, in Manchester it rains a lot more, but is it really that big a deal for 27 year old professional athletes?
Close aw. Parthenon. I have been there on a number of school trips in the past. It’s ok.Pity it didn’t make one of the new 7 miracles of the world.
i thought the parthenon was one of the 8 wonders of the world, strange, i might be be in greece this summer ,i will definantly pass by there if i can costas, i also did a school project on ancient greece
that was a long time ago (forgot to add that)(the school project)
It looks like Liverpool went for Johnson )) LOL.
The most important position for FSW to strengthen ? Interesting.
But they can use Crouch situation and add some 10 mln to buy him. Maybe ..
You should definitely go to the Parthenon. You should also go to an island if you have the chance. But either way, i think you will have a great time.
Cold weather is much easier to play in any way…players cool off quicker and sweat less. Anway, it’s not like this: weather=great football.
yeah costas its definantly in my list of things that i must do,hopefully this summer,i did plan to do it last summer but i just decided to stay in the uk getting nervous pre season
glen johnsons a good player but i wouldnt swap him for sagna even though sag cant cross a ball, i dont know about johnsons defencive skills
just seen a small report that says david villa has or will sign for real madrid for 34 mill (pounds)
now they want a highly rated defender as well
Corea is right.Maybe Johnson is building his rep based on 2 good games with England. He had a good season with Portsmouth but what does that say?Hreidarsson and Distin also had good seasons.
Maicon ? ))
It think they need 2. Another one is a Central Midfielder.
@arsene
rumour is they’ve also signed Albiol with Villa for 50 mill euros with two Madrid reserves going to the Mestella. Does this mean Heinze will be sold?
i think he is a good attacking defender, i wouldnt really call him an out an out defender, a smart attackin player would get in behind johnson repeatedly due to his reluctance to sit back, its only his goals that have got him this publicity
i think heinze, ruud, anyone could be sold because they will be tryin to slash the wage bill,so anyone apart from casilas and raul, and the new boys,id expect huntelaar to be off loaded,an diara, probably ten players to be offloaded
But anyway )
They are Real Madrid, they have money. ![]()
Perez had a plan. Firstly sign the players who will sell them shirts. Kaka, Ronaldo. Now Villa.
And then he will buy some defenders. If he was able to buy the players of Kaka and Ronaldo calibre there will be no trouble to sign the defenders ?
They all want to play for Real Madrid. Espescially when they will have to pay 25% income tax and not the 50%.
Casillas, Raul and Guti are untouchable but they will clear 9 or 10 players though Diarra was one of the players of the year in Spain. Come to think of it Perez sold Makele during his first spell.
yeah but the wage bill will still be huge, players that cant even get in the squad on a match day earning 60-80k, they have about 4 defensive midfielders,, about 6 forwards, their gonna play a 4-3-3 now with kaka ronaldo and villa,so they gonna have raul huntelaar and ruud on the bench, plus they have at least 2 more strikers, something will give at real madrid, there will be a carboot sale of players,if u can take their rediculous wages then take them on the cheap, just get them off the books
van der Vaart may be off too. Marcelo, Heinze and probably Gago. They desperately need a proper centre back.
Albiol is a good signing for them. But as a defender. They will need a midfielder with bite i feel.
strikers alone will cost them probably 700k a week in wakes, or more, kaka an ronnie combined are said to be earning up to 400k
wakes=wages lol,dunno what i was thinking
Man U has allowed Real Madrid to make it difficult for them in the transfer market.
The Ronaldo deal has made clubs more difficult to negotiate with, everybody is raising the bar because Man U have money to spend.
My take is that whether we bring in Pele or not Man U will win laurels next season.
well they have 2 diaras, guti, royston drenthe, thats 4 players with bite, 4 internationals,i cant see a galactico team with more than 1 dm, unless their going to be the most defensive galactico team ever
I think that they will need an Essien in the team. Someone of that quality.I think that they will partner Villa with Ronaldo in order to make space for 2 dm
Forget about what formation they play……… it’s about how many shirts they can whore. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens. It could go tits up or could be a stroke of genius.
they will just sell their stadium & rent it back for a $1 a month off the government
I think that they well sell a lot of shirts.Lets face it.It’s a great time to be a Real fan. What they are doing now is unparalleled.Thankfully we won’t have to deal with them until March.Barca will have that problem for now.
barca caused this, this whole spending tantrum
@arsene
Funnily enough one of Madrids’ directors when asked “what if you get into financial difficuties” replied ” The Bernabeau is situated in the centre of Madrid in prime real estate territory, we can sell the ground and build a new one out of town”. This is probably a wind-up but there again……….
adebayor and eboue sell shyt loads of shirts too,why dont real madrids fans buy the fakes lol
rc7 i am amazed a director would even joke about that, but their powerless to perez now
“It’s a great time to be a Real fan.”
who knows, Costas.
But thinking about what kindof people the spaniards are..
they love the hype like italians..
and i thought during the last season that Milan are a star team with Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pato, Pirlo and Beckham..
Yeah, who knows what can hap0pen during the season? But as far as the summer is concerned, they have every right to be happy.Imagine if we kept Ronaldo and brought Kaka and Villa to the team. But the euphoria will end at some point.
Arsene i always go for the fakes shirts too.I can’t find the real ones from here anyway.I might visit England and OT in the summer and i will look for a real one.
basically this could be a sign of the premier league havin outspent itself, i remember when the italians had a ten year spell of buying all the best talent, now i think it could swing to spain because the english prem has had its 10 years, they americans and the arabs are mor interested in assets and shares maybe, they fooled the fans, now its spains turn (but valencia are a different story)
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/06/12/article-0-055361E4000005DC-761_634×505.jpg
higher TV revenue, hmmmm…
somebody please explain me..
@ Costas
i order the official kit every year, it’s not a problem for a Greece citizen, is it ?
costas there must be real man united shirts there? im amazed, i saw a programme about african pirates and they had an eboue 27 shirt and were usin it as the flag for their pirate ship lol and also about glue addicts in kenya there was a glue dealer in an eboue 27 shirts,im sure there must be a man united shop somewhere near you costas, there certainly should be soon
I saw that last night Corea. It means that they are getting 135million pounds each year from TV channels for the right of showing their home games. 3 times more than what we make!
Yes, the money from TV revenue are divided between all clubs here.
Does this all mean that Real has it’s own contract ?
@ Costas
i know the meaning (i have a dictionary) LOL
i was asking about the reasons
yeah but they make less than half what united make in ticket sales
I haven’t done a good research to see is the sell real ones. They probably do.Form me it’s a case of going to the local bazzar, finding fake shirts and buying one.I might have to look harder for the real deal.
Oh ok Corea.Sorry if i misjudged what you meant. They probably have a private contract. The Glazers have always wanted the same thing for United. It’s the only way we will ever match Rea, there. Not to mention avoid Sky’s ridiculous scheduling.
@Corea
You’ve hit the nail on the head. The £135 mill is only for domestic rights and doesn’t include the Champions League money.
Imagine if we sold our TV rights individually. Probably worth £200 mill.
The problem of course is this would make the smaller clubs weaker.
Even in Italy teams like Milan are cutting their costs.
In Italy they are lookng to sell their TV rights collectively which is why even teams like Milan are cutting their costs.
Casilias
Maicon Pepe Albiol Clichy
Diarra Diarra
Ronaldo Kaka Ribery
Villa
lol clichy @corea i gotta laugh lmaoooooooo, clichy is no galactico
In Italy they also have a problem with the stadiums. 90% of them are old.
But what a difference. 135 vs. 49. Gosh!
Corea, won’t Ramos play? How did Clichy come about?
@ arsene wenger
there are rumours
)))
Ramos can play in the center as a backup ))
i heard the rumours as well, just imagining gael clichy running up the wing for real madrid makes me overcome with laughter
“Although the prospect of seizing Xabi Alonso from Liverpool may be receding because of Gareth Barry’s move to Manchester City, Arsenal’s Gael Clichy is among the principal candidates to fill Real’s left-back position, problematic since the departure of Roberto Carlos in 2007.
Arsenal are unlikely to resist a £12m bid given the progress last season of Kieran Gibbs and Clichy’s injury record.”
DDDD
AW i say take it if it comes.Gibbs will come good over time.
Corea i would prefer Ramos over Pepe. The most overrated defender in the world!
Ronaldo has been bought to play left back.
Didn’t Perez explain that to him?
Costas, are you a Real supporter ?
How you dare ?!!!
Just joking. It’s like a Soccer Manager but for real ))
For R E A L ))))))))))))
Oh noooo! )))
gibbs is quality, apart from that patch of ice on the pitch, all the things that gael was good at have now kind of started going backwards, his crossing is terrible, decision making lacks confidence, bad year for gael
They also have Marcelo, a left back ?
Not sure about his defensive skills but remember Barca on the 27th of May.
For 100 million Euro’s???? No thanks!
imagine the list of players that wenger would have given perez if he took the job, bendtner, toure-kolo,and maybe some 13 year old from everton if he was feeling greedy
http://www.manchesterunited.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=157589
sorry for the link but this is light at the end of the tunnel.
VIVA VIDA!
Last line – perfect!
what did pepe do to get a 10 match ban last season?
I love him!!!!
@ arsene wenger
youtube ? )) didn’t you know ? ))
Arsene
He “accidentally “assaulted a player. His studs caught the players back and off balance his fist touched his face. Then he did an impression of Drogba and Ballack. He was unfairly treated.
10 match ban,he should be fired for that, omg i had never seen that pepe red card before, thats just taking the piss
rc7, yeah! he wanted to teach the fucker some manners!
An angel in the making! Spain is a country of divers. Ronaldo will be safe there.
Breaking news.
I’m glad i stayed up
Aw go watch it on youtube! You will laugh your butt off.The man is a joke.
@Corea
Well spotted. I noticed the £160.000 per week. Was all that “disrepectful” stuff by Tevez at the end of the season just bollocks?
From now on support the club not the shirt
Guys, i’m behaving like an idiot searching for the links ![]()
Forgive me.
But Vida news made my day. WE have to regain some confidence and it helps.
I want a big interdiew from Fergie not those few words. Some more days in France and we want to here from you.
that pepe vid is shocking,i dont even think the guy dived he was just offbalance about to shoot when pepe pushed him, that was serious lashing out, a real john terry moment
Tevez is off from what i understand from that. Fuck off for all i careI have said it 3 times today. With the cash we have now,we can do much better.
@rc7 The Directors comment won’t be a wind up imho. While they know that the banks won’t ever ask for the Money back they know that if they get to a point where getting more credit gets hard they can get Madrid council to pay over the odds for the stadium and then help them build a new one out of town for pretty much nothing.
Its what happened last time Perez was in charge. The banks wouldn’t dare foreclose on the outstanding loans but no-one would give them any more credit to fund the big name signings they wanted. So Madrid Council rezoned the city and then Real agreed to sell the training ground for alot more than it was worth and madrid then helped them build a better training ground for Peanuts. They were then able to use the money they got to allow them to get further lines of credit to fund their player purchases.
Casilias even said that his behaviour was very inappropriate and the club like Real won’t tolerate this kind of shit.
Pepe said that it could be the end of his playing days and he doesn’t understand what happened to him.
@costas
Just hope all the people supporting him realise he’s a cunt like the rest of them (I doubt it). Pretending its the clubs fault and all that.
Pepe is a portuguese Joey Barton.
There’s only 2 clubs with that sort of spending power in Spain mind, or even 1.
i wouldnt trust a word tevez says, a lot happens in football, i still believe that arsenal were engineering to sell adebayor last season which lead to fans booin him, although no solid bids came in and they had to give him the contract they promised him in the end, football clubs, agents and footballers are not to be trusted, but in tevez’s case he isnt own by man united so they cant be blamed
Sorry if its been asked already, or if its something really obvious.
But what shirt number will Ronaldo be wearing over there?
I remember hearing something about his brand “RC7″ conflicting with his Madrid move but cant join the dots.
yes pepe was certainly a victim of the red mist, tunnel vision rage, lucky that guy didnt try get up an take that boot to the head, he is just a thug ,he rools around the floor like a sissy when he is touched……………………….breaking news… real madrid have cancelled the ronaldo deal, they dont want to pay £80million when primark are selling big girls blouses for just £4 lol … sorry gents someone just texted that to my phone
he will be cr9,he had already copyrited CR9
Arsene and to think that Pepe cost 30 million Euros! What a bargain!
whoops. was supposed to be CR7* lol
Thanks Arsene
they call him the Neanderthal man)))
Really intelligent
Costas, it’s 1:33 AM. what’s the plan ?
When Querios was manager at Real he wanted to buy him for 2 mill.
I hope every person who was in Old Trafford and Booed when Fergie Subbed Tevez now writes Fergie an apology letter. Its been clear to me for a while that Tevez was using the Fans but that seems to confirm it once and for all.
Atleast at no point did Ronaldo try and play the Fans off against Fergie like Tevez did. I have to say its as if Argies all have a Generic trait that makes them complete twats and I’d be quite glad if we never have another Argie at Old Trafford based on the ones we have had
if payin that much money for an inbred like pepe means success id rather just stick with phil senderos, i didnt really like what keown and them did to ruud that time but swinging out like that at a bloke on the deck face down just aint right
Wakey spot on with everything you say. They are prima donnas. They have a complex that everytone has a vendetta against them.Imagine him fucking off to Shity, only for Bellamy to start ahead of him!
@Corea: No plan for tonight.Just hanging around here until i fall asleep on the keyboard!
I won’t support the player who thinks he is bigger than the club.
I won’t support the player who wants to use the crowd in order to gain attention.
I won’t support the player who doesn’t respect the manager.
@ Costas
oh no! i hoped you would say “LEt’s go to bed”
Now i have to stay up until you’ll lose consciousness
Where are all this Tevez ad Ronaldo defenders ?
I hope no more phone calls from Fergie. We must stay firm!
And no Maradona’s relatives please.
Corea, don’t wait for me, really. It could be a while. There will always be Ronaldo and Tevez defenders.I am betting right now that when Tevez returns as an opponent at OT,many fans will cheer for him.
right thats enough for me,il be doing my stepovers in the park tommorow that i learnt watchin my mates giggs soccer school video, about 1992 that was, laters chaps
@bertie When Real enquired about Young in Jan they were told £27mill. With the money we have and the fact we are an english side buying from an english side and buying an English player I would guess they would push for £30-35mill
@ Wakey
35 mln ? for Young a lot. But it’s better than 95 mln for Ribery i think.
@ Costas
aha. i remember. the usual time is 1-30 local Manchester time. ))
Goodnight Arsene.
I’m also off, Costas.
No 1.5 hours more for me. Tomorrow my last day off for me before going to work.
Where is suhayl? i miss his epic posts.
Goodnight.
lol guys,im just popping back to say, next years CL final is at the bernabau stadium, thats a great motivator for your boys as if they need one after the final against barca, but the prospect of playin there in a final? anyway im really really off now, costas corea wakey, have a good night
Yeah, i know Arsene. They will be desperate to get there. I will love it when they get knocked out.
Goodnight Corea.
Here’s the problem as I see it.
No one player can make up for Ronald. From an on the pitch perspective he has just about everything you want in a “star player”. As Fergie says, “his goal threat is far and away the greatest in world football”. He not only can score every type of goal (watch the 07/08 42 goal video) he can make every type of pass to make a goal for everyone else. So simply irreplaceable.
But that’s not all. He has the looks and image that makes him so commercial even to consumers who have no interest in football. I mean RM are talking about making $100mm from shirt sales alone! (That’s 3m shirts just like Beckham did)
Bottomline for me is that…. 80m wasn’t enough! United would never have sold if they thought they could persuade him to stay long term and Ribery has a face only a mother could love. So if he costs more than 35m he doesn’t do enough for us.
Basicaslly it’s a whole new game and we need “star quality” so I’m thining Pato next year when Milan might risk the wrath of their fans to sell him and Valencia type signings in the meantime.
But fear not … just watch Berba and Rooney next year!!
reddy brek man Said,June 13th, 2009 @16:21 fuck off tevez? use the crowd? no respect for the manager? tevez was desperate to sign for utd but the powers that be didn’t want him, was it saf or the yanks? apparently saf phoned him personally to try to persuade him to sign which tells you that it was more that likely a yanky thing against him. i ask you this, if you was treated like tevez was and then when the clubs best player walks out on you would you go back and play for people who didn’t want you at the club? fuck off tevez, you should hang your heads in shame. you obviously know nothing about football.
this was posted at about 14.30 bst but was moderated. poular site and many posts since. stop the frenzy folks. tevez IS class if he plays for someone else then so what, his utd rep will live on and rightly so. the vitriol makes us bitter i’m sorry to say.
@reddy brek man
The thing is though United had been saying all season that it would be sorted once the season was over so they didn’t mistreat him in anyway. He was the one who decided to spend the second half of the season ignoring that and being disrespectful to the club and using the fans against the club. If he had shut his big mouth for a couple of months instead of effectively waging war on Fergie for what seems like little more than to make more money so he can afford to go back to Boca at 28 like he has stated he wants to
Oh and Goal.com are reporting Chelsea are Hijacking citehs deal for him
Fuck off Tevez.
Tevez lost my respect when he made the final run in his personal crusade to get a new contract. I am sorry, but United fans were more harsh on Beckham and Van Nistelrooy for smaller “sins”.So why should i respect him?
The Daily Star reports that we could move for Silva for 25 million pounds.I wish it happens.
Jesus, it seeems being a footballer (very stressful) you only have to work for a couple of years.
@Wakey
Good comment. He will go for the dough ie Citeh. If Chelsea offer more the bitters will break the bank just to piss us off. Meanwhile Carlitos will be laughing.
I haven’t seen enough of David Silva to say if UTD should sign him or not. I know he plays on the left and is around 24. Supposedly one of the best wingers so if the 25 million is true it is probably a justified amount.
With 25 million spent on Silva and 15 million spent on Valencia, UTD could potentially have 40-60 million left to maybe spend on a central midfield playmaker (Schneijder) and a lead the line striker (Aguero, Benzema, Huntelaar).
The huge positives of having 2/3 wingers coming in is that Wazza will finally be free in the proper central “number 10″ role. This will be the best thing that could happen this season coming. Viva Wayne Rooney.
Also the ever increasing chances of UTD signing “Wonder Kid” Alexis Sanchez. Apperently the new Ronaldo, Maradona, Messi all in one 20 year old player. Never been more excited for an upcoming season. Can’t wait to see the new arrivals in Pre-Season. New kit. New era possibly. Very exciting times ahead for UTD. Roll on 09/10.
We shall not be moved!!!
@wakey
spurs are putting together an offer worth about 20mil for Young – Jenas and Bentley I believe? Obviously no guarantee that would be accepted but might set a starting price
Tevez will go because he can’t be guaranteed a starting spot, and still wouldn’t be even if he was here next year
Ribery is just a good player, not exceptional. Benzema will grace united even more than the lost genius. Let’s go-get Benzema!
WE SHOULD GET BOTH RIBERY AND BENZEMA AND RONALDINJO AND SANCHEZS AND IBRAHIMOVICHS BEST PLAYER IN WORLD!!!!
Only kidding. Half of ManUtd.com messageboards are loaded with that kind of bull. I’d love Ribery to come but their asking price is too much.
haha…man that would make Rafa’s summer miserable xD ^_^
“So and so is too expensive”
“So and so wants to play in Spain”
“His club won’t sell”
“Why don’t we accept our new status as nobodies and see if players from Wigan, Hull and Wolves are prepared to take a step down, albeit only if we pay their clubs 3x what they’re worth ?”
wakey, it sounds like sour grapes to me. if tev stays at utd you would be happy and anybody who slagged him off would cop an earfull off you. its the fact he’s moving on that utd fans are not best pleased about. such abuse aimed at tevez is uncalled for, and i’d say that 99% of the people who actually go to old trafford would say the same. whether he gose to city or chelsea means absolutely nothing to me, or even if he wants to go back to boca with his pockets busting at the seames! now come clean you want him to stay, so less of the fuck off tevez campaign its just bitchy-ness.
further to the respect debate, why do you cheer that greedy cun1 rio after he was going to walk unless you gave in to his wage demand of £120 grand a week. fickle just fickle! suppose you’ll be booing eagles when he turns out for burnley against utd eh!!
@reddy brek man:
There is a difference. Rio never manipulated his relationship with the fans to get what he wanted. Rio didn’t make a title deciding game with Arsenal his own farewell party. Rio didn’t constantly talk against the manager in the media. And Rio always was quick to allay fears about him leaving. Players have every right to hold out for the best deal possible. They don’t have the right to think that they are bigger than the team and make their issue bigger than the capture of a record 18th League title. That’s why Tevez turned out to be a bullshiter and that’s why many United fans won’t shed a tear to see the back of him.
Personally I would rather Valencia and Silva than waste the money on Ribbery.
costas, listen pal you know the script with rio, he had utd up against a wall and the utd were not happy about it (there’s only 1 greedy bastard was the chant) sometimes silence can be deafenning. tev wanted his contract sorting or be told that he could find another club. utd tried pullin joorabooa’s pants down by offering about 15 million only when it looked like city and the dippers were sniffin round him. i don’t for 1 minute blame saf for what is happening i think its more to do with the money men hoping that they’d get him on the cheap, trouble is its backfired, now according to reports it looks like utd’s loss is somebody elses gain. if he gose to city then its a step backwards in the respect that they aint playing european footy but the flip side of the coin is that he’ll get more games (and money$$) tevez was probably one of the reasons why utd have had success whilst he has been at utd (1 man dose not make a team) and his work rate and attitude to the game is on a par to rooney, they love to play and rightly so. i think that the way he’s been cold shouldered was disrespectfull and showed a lack of professionalissame by the club and i think they won’t make another mistake like it again. i personnally wouldn’t call tev because he gave his all for the cause, to have what seems to be a hate campaigne against tev is shocking to say the least. everyone has a right to voice their opinion but if utd fail to hold on to the prem next season then it won’t be down to ronny nobbin off to madrid but probably down to not havin a mad man charging all over the pitch! i’m not fallin out with anyone but in the cold light of day its been a bad move by utd. off for a pint now my fingers are killin!!!
@reddy brek man:
I do remember the “Rio sign the deal” chant at the time, but there could have been more.I wasn’t condining the attitude of the fans then.At the same time i can’t condone people booing Sir Alex in favor of Tevez. It’s disgraceful. And as you said,Ferguson isn’t the reason all of this happened. The money aren’t coming from his pockets. If it did,he would have probably wanted to keep Tevez. So here’s my question:why did Tevez target Sir Alex?Because he didn’t play him regulary? That’s what happens at United.Your place in the starting line up is never certain. In the eyes of some,he was better than Berbatov. In the eyes of others,he wasn’t.United have not been professional with their treatment of him but he hasn’t done himself justice either. As far as next season is concerned,we will have to wait and see.We always talk about attacking players, but we can’t discount what part Rio,Vida and Carrick have played in the last 3 years. And thank god they will be here next season.Lets see how Tevez does at City now.
costas your jumpin the gun mate, tev aint a city player or anyother clubs player yet. your questions, did tev target saf personnally for not playing him? i don’t think so, every good pro wants to play as many games as they can. i can’t recall him slaggin saf off for not playing him all the time and i remember him scoring and lookin to the directors box and holding his ears which tells me his protest was aimed at somebody’S else. the booing of saf was probably hoping that he could pull the strings to get tev on board, if that would ov happened then it’d be happy days and tev is a hero still. at utd there is a strong rotation policy which bloods the future of the club and rightly so, that’s why utd have continuing success but i didn’t see tev knocking or calling anyother players around him hoping to further his place in a competative squad, i think he accepted it but he wanted to know where his future lied. i don’t want to back you into a corner but who would you have tev or berb? you point to the fact that rio, carrick and vid have played over the past few years but its more than them (vander, shea, fletch….how many more? there is no I in team (ta da ronny) it just baffles me that everybody wants tev to sign but when its not lookin likely its fook off tev! what will you do if he has a change of heart, you’d look a right jessie. don’t take offence pal but i think rejection on both sides is playin a part here, utd want him and tev wants to stay but HE and saf don’t decide the outcome unfortunately. tell me this and tell me no more costas, dippers have been sniffin round tuncay from boro, tuncay in a utd shirt would get about 15 goals a season no danger, he’d be about 10 mill at tops (not even city would bid more!) then next season benzema from lyon when they’ll sell him.
I think his beef with SAF,and he mentioned it at least in 2 interviews, was that he wasn’t getting the starts he deserved. And he specifically mentioned the Sunderland game which he didn’t start even though he scored 4 in the previous game. There were digs at SAF.A month ago, Maradona made a mention about Tevez complaining to him about the “old man” having it out for him. That was never confirmed nor was it denied either.
Of course it is a team game.I just mentioned players who i think have played a larger role than Tevez. And as you corrected me, there are some others too.Tevez has played a part, but i don’t think his departure would hurt the team’s title chances that much.Especially if we got another prolific striker help out now that Ronaldo is gone.Since you asked,i would say that Tev and Berb bring different things to the club and in an ideal world,i would like both to stay. But you know what?Maybe i would prefer Tevez.
I didn’t want to feel the way i do about Tevez, but his actions in the last month have really disappointed me.I understand him being insecure about his future. That’s never nice. But he could have made these noises after the title was clinched. And i don’t like professional footballers who get payed what he does to talk about horrible and terrible treatment. He comes from a country going though rough times,so he should know what bad treatment is really about. And the other puzzling thing is that we made the offer he wanted yet he doesn’t look like commiting to us.That’s where i question if all this has been about the lack of respect he feels or that he will have a better contract at City.
I am saying that he wil leave based on what i read from the news sites.Last week a source of his said that Fergie’s phonecall didn’t have much success. That does hint where things are going.I hope i am wrong. If he stays and gives his all(which he undoubtedly will),then it’s up to fans like me to put our foot in our mouth and put the team above anything else.
We could go for Hamsik too, I’m surprised he’s not even being mentioned. Hamsik and Sanchez could be huge in the future, IMHO. If we spend some money on them (and maybe Valencia), we could come hard after Benzema and Ribery. That would be strong position.
Wasn’t Fergie given 100 million, plus Ronaldo’s money for the market?b I think I read it at goal.com…
For that price??97m euros??
