    Vs Leyton Orient. or Arsenal…….

  3. manutdisadream says:

    i fucking new it.

  4. amin says:

first ! leyton orient or arsenal

  5. willierednut says:

I dare say, we won’t be seeing the team, we seen yesterday. I’d preferred Arsenal in the final, but at least we’re home.

  6. kalito says:

    u mean leyton orient !!!

  7. shebangsthedrums says:

Don’t know how I feel about that one! Just glad it’s at OT. We usually raise our game against better opposition.

  8. Ash says:

    Now lets stuff them.

  9. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Well its well and truly in our hands to stop them winning the quad then. Thankfully this game will be played right before the internationals. So I expect to see a full strength 11.

  10. lil' k says:

yeah, and ando will shit on them

  11. Chach says:

    Let’s go Utd!!! :D

  12. carloc1978 says:

    good draw bring them on!

  13. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Exciting game for the Cup. Definitely we’ll be taking it seriously since its stronger opponents(+rivals)

  14. manutdisadream says:

reflecting this draw, i am pleased. we have to bring in the big guns for this fixture, and there is no fucking up tolerated from the 1st team.
the leyton vs arse game is open, it is the FA cup afterall, anything can happen. but we have to top our squad anyway if we meat leyton or arse.

  15. redroy says:

If we can get past Arsenal, we will win the FA cup. I have spoken

  16. shebangsthedrums says:

Didn’t we beat liverpool and Arsenal on our way to wining the FA cup and treble in 99? You never know, it’s still on!

  17. Kings says:

Fucking fantastic. That’s exactly the draw I was hoping for. I know the priority is the 19th title, but a home draw against that scum, surely we should pull out the stops to win this one. Also ending any silly talk of them winning the treble. Plenty of incentives there for us not to sacrifice this one.

  18. Kings says:

Sorry I meant to say ‘quadruple’.

  19. King Eric says:

Bit previous scott lad. Arsenal aint through yet. NO giant killings yet. Don’t bank on orient not winning this. I would love the gooners though. Like willie said itysa safe to say it will be a much stronger team. Home tie. Couldn’t ask for more. Time to put the nonsensical quadruple to bed. Pretty chuiffed to be honest bout this one. United and ot are made for big games. Would rather this tie than everton or the bitters away. Anyway villa will knock out citeh.

  20. Joel says:

Just the draw I wanted. If, and a big IF, Arsenal go through, the chance to knock them out and end all that silly quadruple talk.

  21. Gaffer says:

Chelsea – Liverpool – Arsenal This is what its all about

  22. manutdisadream says:

if we win our games, i predict us vs shitty in the final. fuck them up at wembley and end all talk of the blue moon is going to win anything. no trophies, not rich shieks, the blue moon is going down – in the future ;)

  23. King Eric says:

Kings. Ha. Two great minds think alike. Would rather face the cockneys than some of the shithouse toerag clubs we have played of late. Banana skins. We are always up for these ganes. Knock em out and the cup is ours. Proper chuffed.

  24. parryheid says:

Got to hand it to City no fucking about with youngsters, Strongest team and right for their throats they see a prize and intend to get it.Can you say the same about United.

  25. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@parryheid – And yet cit-eh was exactly the same team were forced into a replay. Yeah you really have to hand it to them!

  26. willierednut says:

A Manchester derby in the final? Should be tasty on and off the pitch. London won’t know whats hit It. :D

  27. Doghouse says:

Bring them Gooners the fuck on.

  28. mattbw7 says:

Only 20,550 empty seats at the wastelands today, what’s that song again.

  29. soccerisfootbal says:

    no more quadruple… :D

  30. Kings says:

King Eric – Absolutely mate. We ended their so called treble dreams in 2004 after beating them in the FA Cup Semi-Final, now let’s wipe the floor with them at Old Trafford and put them in their place and stop all this stupid quadruple talk. Saying that, hopefully Barcelona will have smashed them and knocked them out of Europe by then.

  31. imactuallyclass says:

@ parryreid ypu are the most negative ‘fan’ on this site and im starting to think you hate united

  32. mattbw7 says:

    parryheid says:
Got to hand it to City no fucking about with youngsters, Strongest team and right for their throats they see a prize and intend to get it.Can you say the same about United.

I don’t get the logic, yes maybe we could have had a better mix of 1st team and reserves however two things are relavant here, we have a euro away followed by 3 prem aways and secondly Crawley actually played better than Rangers, Rovers and Birmingham, there where no mugs and in the end we got through, I couldn’t give a fuck how City go about thier FA Cup run.

  33. parryheid says:

Are you guys who responded stupid enough to see my comment as praise for City.if so I pity you,try thinking contrasts.

  34. Rai says:

Again smalls team being disrespected (Orient)

  35. wayne says:

@Kings hi mate my comments on a different thread was not meant as a insult to sir alex.under wenger gunners have mantained a high level, playing good football without spending alot of money.he’s very good at spotting and deveolping talent, these are just facts and when sir alex retires although it would never happen he’d be top of my list.if you don’t rate him as a top manager thats fine,he’s second on the list behind sir alex imo

  36. mattbw7 says:

No Parryhied I saw your comments as critism of SAFs team selection, while you took no account of how well Crawley played or how many tough fixtures we have ahead of us, yes it looked dodgy at times but we’re through and at the same time rested the majority of the 1st team, job done.

  37. King Eric says:

Parryheid. Sorry pal but disagree. City NEED a trophy and its probably ythe shiek that tells richard madely to pick the team. We had more than enough talent on the pitch yesterday but it wasn’t to be as so often we see in these games. Would ya have liked a full team out yesterday? Well what if berba nani and vida got injured. We would be ina right fucking mess consdidering the four tough games coming up. Its all about using the squad. No coincidence the two most succesful premier league managers in fergie and wenger have made ten changes. We got through the tie and have a fully rested fourteen players now. Fuck city matye. I aint taking no pointers off them. Since when were they the blueprint for success? The cunts will be burnt out come april and wil more than likely miss top four. Anyway if villa don’t beat em then everton will.

  38. wayne says:

agree with parryheid it was a fucking disgrace the way bobby manc brings on tevez after the game is over and notts county players are tired just to run up the score.i detest everything about the way city and rentboys go about doing business and play the game

  39. mattbw7 says:

wayne i think you’re confused over what parryheid actually said

  40. wayne says:

@mattbw7 got the impression he was taking the piss out of city, going for the throats after being 2-0 up and bringing on the likes of tevez against a inferior team

  41. King Eric says:

Wayne and parryheid. If that’s the case I apologise. I didn’t sense any irony or sarcasm in the original post though. Wayne. Spot on. No need whatsoever to bring judas on. Fucking cunt club.

Oh and a pound to a penny it won’t be long before they bring on daddy cesc to bail arsenal out.

  42. parryheid says:

mathew7 I made no comment after yesterdays game, but did complain about too many changes before the game and yes we are through but I would disagree it was because Crawley played well make of that what you wish. But for criticising Sir Alex No however disagreeing a different animal.

    King Eric .
I agree City Need a trophy the only thing you left out was Desperately. What I would have liked is a team that was less thin ,as for maybe some of our bigger name player getting injury in that type of match could be that team would have been blitzed before half time and because we are coming into a seriously tough period I would prefer they were tuned up for the battles to come and that to me means playing also over the forth coming weeks have Two wingers coming back to further strengthen us.We can but pray your prophesy about City is correct.

  43. wayne says:

ok my mistake thought the comment was supposed to be ironic, can’t agree fa cup is 3rd on the list and i think regardless how bad some played, players like fabio, obertan and bebe need these type of games, don’t want to see the likes of vidic, scholes, giggs, berba etc playing in a game like yesterday when c.l. is just 4 days away

  44. Costas says:

So that means we face Chelsea, Liverpool and then probably Arsenal, in succesion. Nice. And then we have the 2nd leg with Marseille. One thing’s for sure. March won’t get boring.

  45. mattbw7 says:

Methinks hw was bemoaning our performance yesterday

  46. willierednut says:

No Costas, they have to face the mighty Man United! It is what it is now, no point in moaning about it. If we get past the French, wouldn’t mind an English team in the quarter final. It would limit the travelling, we’d have to do. Arse 1 up.

  47. Costas says:

    piersmorgan
    ” 1-0 – the Quadruple’s still on.”

    What a twat. :)

    @willie

Oh, no moaning. Such was our league schedule, that this was bound to happen. And despite what anyone says, if we are going to become champions, we have a long way ahead of us. I just hope the likes of Rio and Park are back for these games.

  48. Kings says:

wayne – Hi mate. You are more than entitled to your opinion mate, not arguing with that whatsoever. I have very strong opinions against him as I think he is a smug arrogant cunt. He is always disrespectful to the opposition if nothing goes his way and when his team wins it’s a case of ‘common sense has prevailed and justice has been done’ with him. I hear where you are coming from with regards to him spotting talent as you put it, but the fact of the matter is they haven’t won anything since 2005. That’s how I measure contributions. They may win the League cup at the end of this month, but his record is nowhere near to that of Sir Alex. The 1996 double winning side, containing the youth who were promoted to the first team will never be matched. That alone carries more weight than what Wenger has to offer. Also, we achieved that by selling 3 of our 1994 Double winning team in the summer of 1995 and brought in no one. Oh yes and the treble winning team of 1999 had the same group of players, so it’s even more remarkable when you look at it.

Totally agree with your post from 16.59 – Total lack of class from those bitter blue cunts. The game was won, so there’s no need to bring that Judas cunt on. Maybe the fact that Tevez said he was going to make a cup of tea prompeted that cheesy scarf wearing bastard Mancini to bring him on, just to keep him away from the kettle!

  49. willierednut says:

Costas – I didn’t mean you were moaning, just in general mate, I was talking about. We’ve got a big squad now, I think we can cope, but I’d still settle for the league and FA cup. Europe is a bonus IMO.

  50. TK says:

I’m very very happy ,we’re gonna meet the gooners in the FA cup.Surely we are not going to see the mighty Gibson,Obertan,Bebe. Sir Alex Ferguson knows ,that he must field his strongest squad to win.
We have not been doing quite well recently in the FA cup and that’s a great opportunity to win it again.

  51. King Eric says:

Costas. Hello mate. How are you? Yeah the next month will shape our own and other teams season. Ask any of the united players though and they will tell you this is what its all about. Big games. Run in. Big cup ties. They love it. Like you say though hope park and rio back although smalling looks like he may be more than up for the task. Certainly domestically at least anyway. Cannot wait for the coming games myself.

  52. King Eric says:

Ps costas. At least tony v back in full contact training with first team by end of week. He will take a bit of time but I think he will be ok. Made of strong stuff. Worked very very hard to get back by all accounts. Cannot wait to see him on the pitch again. Likewise ji.

Gotta say crawley looked better than orient.

  53. wayne says:

@Kings i know he’s a cunt mate not going to argue that

  54. willierednut says:

    Orient scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  55. mattbw7 says:

    Get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  56. KD says:

    goooaaallll.

    cmon J.Kahne Tehoue. cmon Orient!!

  57. Saad says:

Just when I thought this schedule couldn’t get any tougher…now we get this! The 6th Round game comes 72 hours before the Marseille game!!!

Might even be worse…could be 48 hours if the game is held on the 13th!

    CRUNCH!!!!

  58. KD says:

can u imagine that le arse can bring on fab, nasri and wilshere in extra time against some tired legs!!

    But Miracles do occur!!

    C’mon Orient!!

  59. KD says:

oops!! my bad, thought that there was ET after the leg!! dumb i’m!!

  60. Dandivine7 says:

If We play Arsenal, would love 2 see a 442 with 4 hardworking midfielders in Park,Valencia, Fletcher and Anderson behind Berba and Owen( Rooney And Hernandez on the bench with Marseille In Mind) Owen playing behind Berba like He did at Southampton. UNITED!!!

  61. CedarsDevil says:

When I was a teenager I could play two 90 minutes of football a day and that was without any proper training whatsoever.

It really makes me laugh when I hear that players these days might be ‘tired’ for playing 2 games a week, what a load of rubbish

  62. Costas says:

The quadruple is still on, hey Piers?

That win against Crawley doesn’t look so bad now, does it? :)

    @willie

Yes, it’s a big squad, but like you, I’ll setttle for the domestic double. I don’t think if we can handle 3 competitions

    @King Eric

All’s well, thanks. What about you? It depends on how you look at it. I know that Fergie and lots of fans can’t wait for these games. Personally, these games get me even more nervous as you well know. I hope they bring out the best out of the lads. By the way, Arsenal play this FA cup game 4 days after their game at Barcelona, so who knows how much they’ll have left.

  63. united.george says:

@Cedars – LOL. I agree with you, dont forget also the ridiculous wages they make now..

Great scenes after the Orient game with the players getting congratulated by their fans and watching their reaction….Almost takes you back to the old days of football.

  64. Saad says:

Arsenal’s schedule could get pretty crazy too:

    Feb 27: Carling Cup final
    Mar 2: FAC 5th R replay (I’m guessing this)
    Mar 5: Sunderland (H)
    Mar 8: Barcelona (A)
Mar 12/13: FAC 6th R @United (if they make it!)

  65. mattbw7 says:

    CedarsDevil says:

It really makes me laugh when I hear that players these days might be ‘tired’ for playing 2 games a week, what a load of rubbish

I can’t believe you said that, lol at what level did you play your football? I also can’t believe I’m having to point out its the cumulative effect of continually playing two games a week that brings on fatigue, niggling injuries, thats why top clubs rest players when they can to keep them as fresh as possible.

  66. wayne says:

@Costas hi mate won’t the tie put the game back when is the orient replay?

  67. Costas says:

    @wayne

Hi mate. I think it’s what Saad said. They have to play it on March 1st or 2nd. There’s no other date.

  68. wayne says:

five games in 13 days is pretty fucked aswell

  69. bchilds says:

Cracking draw, looking forward to this one!

  70. CedarsDevil says:

    mattbw7

At street level mate but whats the difference? I am referring to so called energy levels that various club statements come up with these days….. Fatigue? What from? Over indulgence for being too big headed thats all it is. Or perhaps too much media attention getting to players minds these days…

Please do not sell me a story about niggling injuries or tiredness, players of old with true grit would be laughing their asses off at such comments.

‘ Oh Blimey I am so tired, I played over 50 games this season’ !!! What a fucking joke, 50 games in a 9 month period! Give me a break

  71. dannysoya says:

I had that weird feeling we might play arsenal. anyways it’s at OT. our chance to end arsenal’s quadruple dream. COME ON UNITED!!!!!

  72. willierednut says:

Arsenal have their own problems to think about. The climax to this season, could be the best yet. Squads will have to be utilised to the fullest.

  73. FletchTHEMAN says:

    HA ha.
    Ley-Arse 1-1 Top news.

    Hmm,
LEY-Arse: a union so exciting that it had to be seen twice.
This time returning in its unprecidented new form as Arse-LEY.

    HA ha ha ha

Where are those gooner supporters now.
Come to think of it, Where are those looser so called “fans” who were criticizing our win yesterday.
Go play in the sand with your toys lads. A win is a win. Job done, no replay. Sorted Ha ha ha ha

  74. mattbw7 says:

Cedars you are totally missing the point its not what you think of your own performance its how others view it, say a manager, who will know from Opta how much ran etc etc, are you seriously saying that if you played two games of football in a day that the second game would have been played to the same intensity as your first and right to the end, its a physical impossibilty, it doesn’t mean you can’t complete the second game you just won’t be at the same level as your first.

Now if you transfer that to the professional game you get the same thing, its not that they can’t play two games a week its just that after a while its bound to have a deleterious effect (regardless of how much they’re are paid) on perfoemance levels and as the games come thick and fast towards the end of the season it makes sense to rest players when you have the chance. Take Rio for instance he’s back training and if we had been playing Chelsea on Saturday you can bet SAF would have tried his best to pick him, as it wasn’t it was better to rest him, the same can be said for all the other players rested on Saturday.
Or are you seriously saying that resting them wouldn’t have been beneficial to them and us in the push for honours because if you accept it was beneficail then you have to accept that constantly playing two games a week has a negative effect.

  75. Saad says:

    @CedarsDevil

I can’t agree or disagree with you completely.

I disagree in that modern day football has a lot more hustle and bustle in it…defenders and central midfielders are far tougher and faster than past players…over the period of a season of 50 games, that could very well lead to all kinds of stress fractures and soft-tissue injuries…compare that to how clubs 40/50 years ago could play an entire season with a squad of 20/25 players…today that is unheard of…you need a squad of at least 33 players in order to be competitive.

But on the other hand, I agree with you because I think modern day people are fatter, lazier, eat a lot of junk food. People in the old days ate a lot healthier and walked a lot more and did more physical work.

  76. willierednut says:

Only because, Rio is always fucking injured lol. Do you notice the tiredness excuse(which it is) Is always used, when any team loses? To be fair Matt, using Rio as your example, is way off mate. I’m clear, that certain players, can’t play to the max all the time, but if you give players any excuse, like tiredness, they’ll always take It. How many games did the treble team play in 99? Squads have changed considerably in that time, till now.

  77. King Eric says:

Costas. Yeah good thanks. It does indeed put yesterdays result into perspective. Anything can and does happen in the fa cup. That’s what’s always been the magic. Great scenes at orient. I know you have always been nervous and its something I like about you. It amuses me. Anyway don’t get me wrong mate I think deep down every united fan is nervous at this stage of the season. I am. As denton would say prepare for a rollercoaster ride!

  78. CedarsDevil says:

    mattbw7

I am not missing the point mate…. Players will get injured but they could do so in any given game, right? Not necessarily for playing twice a week… I remember Lampard going on a run of something like 150 consecutive games in all competitions so that in a way proves my point. There is of course an element of luck involved, any player could get injured at any minute during a football match I grant you that and there are of course players who do have physical problems and are more likely to get injured during games, Rio is an example I agree with. But one thing I will never buy in is that fit players may get tired by playing too much football, in this case we are talking about 2 games a week and that to me is a joke.

  79. wayne says:

lol pro footballers are not fatter, lazier or eat alot of junk food, much more fine tuned than in the past were smoking and drinking were normal activities.

  80. CedarsDevil says:

    Saad

Football in the so called older days was much tougher mate…. No ref protection whatsoever, tackles were so bloody fierce that they would leave your average footballer of these days crippled for life… Watch videos of Leeds United in the early 70′s and you would know what I mean. A player like George Best (RIP) would ride career challenging tackles every game he played….

So again I am sorry but I do not buy into the theory of ‘niggling’ injuries and tissue damage…

  81. mattbw7 says:

Then Cedars you are assuming all players have Lampards reserves of stamina when we know it clearly isnt the case and Willie while I used Rio as an example I also said that other players where rested.

Take another example if you where in a 24 hour car race and you dorve it on your own and the all the other cars where driven by three person teams, who would have the better chance of winning.

The question is not whether they are tired its whether they are as effective as they could be thats why we have squads!!!

  82. heinnlinn says:

Could anyone explain me why Arsenal have to replay today’s game which they drew while Chelsea and Everton had to play extra time and penalty to decide the winner?

  83. willierednut says:

Energy bars Matthew lol. Make them eat one, before they go on the pitch. Don’t think Obertan could play 2 games in a week. The lad lacks stamina.

  84. Saad says:

    @heinnlinn

Chelsea-Everton game WAS the replay and was still tied at the end. Hence the ET and then shootout.

  85. heinnlinn says:

    @Saad

    Thanks!

  86. FletchTHEMAN says:

    @heinnlinn,
Simple really. United and Arse are currently playing their 5th round games. The Chavs-Everton match is a 4th round replay, having tied the first round. You have to win your first match to progress without a replay. Replay has to end in a result, thus the CSKA Landon had to bring on the pens.
Everton now has to play their 5th round game. This is why we talk about fixture congestion in the prem.
    It can get diabolical.

  87. gio says:

it’s good that we are at home.

  88. FletchTHEMAN says:

    @saad
Cheers mate. Didn’t see your response.

But honestly believe that people were too hard on United for the victory against Crawley. A win is a win. A tie would have made the upcoming replays (we already have Chaves march 1 for our game in hand) that much more difficult. 1st string defense rested, no replay, Job done. This is why we can really laugh at Arsenal. They now have another game to add and they have to win it!

  89. FletchTHEMAN says:

PS. What about Leyton Baynes, great little left back. Bit like Irwin? Must say Everton really does bring forward a quality player.

  90. CedarsDevil says:

    mattbw7

Will leave this debate to another day mate.. I am sure we are both missing each other’s points…

  91. Saad says:

Considering the crazy fixture list we have, I think our boys should try and kill of the Marseille tie this week. The first team are well-rested (aside from Rooney and Carrick)…there are no major injury concerns except with the da Silva twins and Anderson…and Marseille’s star striker Gignac is injured.

A nice 2-0 win would be perfect. That would make the return fixture at OT a mere formality.

  92. Saad says:

    @FletchTheMan

Makes you wonder about what Sir Alex has said about David Moyes being an excellent candidate as his successor.

  93. CedarsDevil says:

    FletchTHEMAN

You are a genius! Was thinking about the same thing earlier….. Our Dennis though was two footed and did play both as right and left back. Furthermore and for a long time he was our designated free kick and penalty specialist……….. Bloody miss him, what a player he was

  94. FletchTHEMAN says:

Saad, Doubt it will be Moyes. Don’t get me wrong, I love Moyes, but he hasn’t got the medals or the european experience that will be demanded. I agree that Moyes has an eye for talent, an ability to develop talent, and the type of maturity that would be required. But I just don’t see it.

Cedars, Cheers mate. Don’t call me a genious for recognizing a bit of talent in Baynes. Others have noted his quality previously. Still, comparisons will be to a young Irwin in his Oldham days. Really turned into the massive talent at United. Never know if lads can step up.

  95. CedarsDevil says:

    FletchTHEMAN

Being United supporter makes you a genius mate

  96. FletchTHEMAN says:

@Cedars, Ha ha ha ha. Loads of genius’s on this site.
Manchester must be home to the smartest fans on the planet!
    Ha ha ha

  97. MUFCOK says:

Gutted we werent drawn away from home, FA cup away days are the best, will be especially gutted if its Orient that go through and we’re not away!

suppose if Arsenal come to Old Trafford it will be a great game, not to sure Orient coming to Old Trafford would be so entertaining, good to see the lower league teams doing well though. good luck to them (except against us..)

  98. kiwwi says:

    @FletchTHEMAN

spot on mate…next United manager will be either succes manger like Mou (i don’t like that option) or some former player like Ole, Keano etc.
Moyes is a great manager and he is great in work with young players but he doesn’t have any experience in CL etc. and this will be a key

  99. vILHELM28 says:

The big question is, can United beat Arsenal 3 times in a season. Sports is a game of statistics and results usually center around 50% when playing the same team multiple times in a season… But we have SAF, they don’t

  100. kiwwi says:

    100. for United :)

  101. smartalex says:

    101 spotted Dalmatians, for United.
