Following Manchester United’s draw against Celta Vigo for the semi-final of the Europa League, we’ve already got our eye on the final in Stockholm.
However, having avoided Lyon in the semi-finals, thoughts turned to Memphis Depay who left United in the January transfer window to join the French side. Memphis has scored five goals in 12 appearances for Lyon since leaving United with him realising the potential that he showed for PSV before joining United.
It never really worked out for the 23-year-old at United and he only made seven appearances for United in the first half of the season for Jose Mourinho.
With supporters fearing the worst and predicting that, if United reached the final, Memphis was set to score the winner.
However, it’s probably worth remembering that after making three appearances for United in the Europa League, the Dutchman is cup-tied in the competition, so won’t be featuring in the final, whether we make it there or not.
