Jaap Stam Makes United Return

Jaap Stam has reportedly returned to Manchester United, working as a scout for the club. He was spotted in Porto Alegre, Brazil, this week, taking a look at some youngsters United are interested in. He was watching a youth-team match between Internacional and Ceramica, but wasn’t overly impressed with the target, Walter.

“I liked the game,” said Stam. “Walter played well, but he made some errors. He made some interesting attacks, but also missed shots. It is natural because they are all very young.”

I th0ught Jaap was still playing?

  2. TK 99 says:

I won’t believe this, till a confirmation from Manchester United is announced.

  3. Fuglis says:

He retired about a year ago.

  4. TK 99 says:

By the way,we have a top scout in Brazil. I cant remember his name, but he’s a top one..

  5. casandra says:

TK 99 Said, I think our boy in Brazil’s name is John Calvert-Toulmin.

  6. Mic says:

Glad that Stam is back, hopefully after doing a bit of scouting, he’ll pass on some of his defending knowledge to the youngsters ‘cuz he was a top top defender.

  7. A MAN UNITED FAN says:

i see all is forgiven then about the book and the kitchen

  8. TK 99 says:

    I think you’re right,John Calvert-Toulmin…..anyway he’s a very good one.

  9. katty says:

send one to Argentina as well. and i think we have a scout in Africa too these days right?

  10. SULLY [South Africa] says:

Jaap Stam was my hero in our defence, he was fuckin’ awesome, simply sublime. Never gave a sniff to the strikers. But i too wont believe this until a confirmation from Manchester United’s official website.

  11. Arni says:

He wasn’t sold because of his autobiography. Fergie confirmed that on the invterview with Frost. And he wasn’t just covering either because he admits that he made a mistake selling him after seeing him play a game for Lazio. He sold him because he’d discussed it with coaching staff who said he’d lost a yard of pace.

A few months later he went to see him play and said: “he’s bloody fabulous”. And admits that that’s the one regret with regards to players sold.

  12. suhayl says:

SAF does indeed regret selling jip jaap stam…and has stated so publicly. Personally i was as dumbfounded as the next utd fan when he was sold. As in my opinion he was the best.

IF true….we should employ him as a defensive coach. Would be a Valuable addition to the backroom team.

  13. Stephen says:

I agree he was a top player for us and we sold him far too early, I remember him going face to face with Veira, and Veira absolutlely shat himself!!!

  14. Sam says:

i always felt we sold him because he was taking that nandorine or whatever it was called. He got busted and banned within his first 6 weeks at lazio along with several other dutch players Davids been one of them.

  15. Stephen says:

As we are on the subject of great brave defenders good to see the fucking pussy Terry is out for England and is unlikely to play on Wednesday. He played 90 mins against Citeh, and what are the odds he will play a week on Saturday versus Borough. He missed the Croatia game and played that following Sa, the guy is a cry baby coward, but a least the real captain will get a chance.

  16. OTRed says:

Isn’t he Dutch?? Why didn’t we send him to scout in Holland or something?
