Austin Reynolds-I am sure me or you could be semi-successful with a squad like chelsea’s. It is what you do in the big games that counts. One thing that really makes me sick is the way Chelsea fans Boo their players and manager everytime they don’t get a great result, despite the fact that they are in 2nd place and in the Semi’s of the Champions League…

watchin ur on sky sports the other night i got sick of hearing chelsea rent boys moaning about how clueless grant is, despite them being , until wigan, in for a v good shoyt at the league and european cup! people seem to forget how poor chelsea were last season and how they even managed to start this one even poorer, under the special ones leadership. god, moureen really has got the media and everyone else it seems wrapped around his little finger. if i had the squad he had when he was winning compared to ours arses and scummers squads, i,d have won back to back titles too.
anyway, we got blackburn, barca chelsea an barca again on the horizon, cant we chat about them instead of avram grant, ive heard enough about him from lots of people who know little or nothing about him. give him and the rest of the world a break!

Mihir – though they’d never admit it, Schevchenko and Ballack are both at the end of their careers. Both super-talented with great records but it is at Chelsea where they have looked like players in the descendency. Drogba took 2 years to make a decent impact and Essien is the 1 of your chosen 4 who has always been good.

Chelsea, whether we like how they do it or not, are entitled to their dreams. They have lured quite a few decent players but have never played the game like United or Arsenal. When Chelsea won the league they had a squad better than the competition, but the Managerial experience at Arsenal and Old Trafford has seen development and trust in young players come good. Yes, Arsenal lacked the squad we have nowdays but still put in a good effort this season.

Chelsea had a head start when they became over night billionaires but now other teams have caught back up and are fighting back. Now it’s all a bit equal, Chelsea realise that and it is there for all to see that although they are capable of winning titles and cups, they are not an attractive club in any way, shape or form. Ronaldo and I’m sure Messi and Kaka are football lovers, they love playing the game. I’m sure a club offering loads of cash is not all it takes.

LOL. Man i ussualy try to defend the Toad and ask people not to underestimate him, but this is smth that even I can’t defend…LOL Messi and Kaka. The guy is a returd if he believs that he is going ot get them. Someone mentioned Sheva and Ballack….well they are on early retirment and Lyon accepted higher bid from them for Essien same goes for robben.

Money won’t be a factor for Kaka and Messi – for two any big club that needs a player like that will be willing to break the bank. Besides, put yourself in their shoes – if a team like Madrid or Chelsea or United were in for you, and you had the option of earning loads of money and play for a good manager/side or loads loads of money and play for a boring side with a dickhead manager, what would you go for?

With Grant in charge, there are rumors most of the first team wants to leave Chelski. There is no way he will be in charge next season. Even if he was, his first priority will be to have 11 ppl who would want to play for him, forget about Kaka and Messi.

Mihir – like I said, it’s a combination of history, money and success that can lure players. Aside from Drogba, the players you mentioned signed for Chelsea when they were Champions.

the fact that compared to Mourinho, Grant has no flair or charisma whatsoever, he will never be able to inspire or motivate his team in crunch time.
[Scott] I know tradition is important and its clear that their respective clubs wont let world class players like Messi and Kaka go, unless ofcourse they want to…but having said that, is it absolutely necessary for a club to have a magnificent history for big name players to join it? Chelsea certainly isnt in the league of Man Utd or Liverpool, but they beat us in buying so many great players over the last few seasons. Drogba, Essien, Shevchenko, Ballack are all big name players…lack of glorious history at Chelsea dint stop them from joining it.
