Keane: United Are Going To Get Even Stronger

Roy Keane has been very complimentary of his former club today, claiming that thanks to the quality of the academy, we’ll only continue to improve.

“United to me are just going to get stronger and they are the team to beat as usual,” said Keane. “At reserve and academy level, they have got such good young players coming through. Eventually you hope they get into the first team, just as Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley have. And they settle straight into the team because they’ve got good habits, good attitudes and a good spirit. The only major question mark would be if Wayne Rooney picks up an injury, because he’s a big, big player for them. He is scoring goals for fun. Since he signed his contract, he has settled down and his best years are still ahead of him.”

Roy Keane is a an excellent judge of footballers, and a very knowledgeable man. He has a lot more to give the world of football, and those who dismiss his managerial potential are being short-sighted.

    Well said Keano.

  4. Red Neck says:

High praise from the red legend. Keano isn’t one to let sentimentality shape his views so if this is what he thinks then that’s good anough for me.

    Line up:

MUFC v Chelsea: De Gea; Smalling, Jones, Evans, Evra; Nani, Fletcher, Anderson, Young; Rooney, Hernandez

  17. Costas says:

MUFC bench: Lindegaard, Berbatov, Giggs, Park, Carrick, Fabio, Valencia

Great to see Fletch back in the fold. Not sure if he’s ready for a game like this yet, but hopefully Ando’s presence will help out. An intriguing midfield combo. With no Rio on the bench I hope none of our defenders gets a knock.

  18. dannysoya says:

costas thanks for the line-up solid line up. let’s see how fletch copes. hopefully he plays a stunning game of football today. COME ON UNITED. we will win this game today if we do not underestimate them.
