Kiko: I Want To Stay Here For A Long Time

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez likely to leave this summer, Federico Macheda has insisted he has no intention of leaving any time soon.

After hailing his brilliant and important goals against Villa and Sunderland, he claimed that United were the best in the World and he hoped to stay for a long time.

“My last two and a half months have been amazing, to score goals against Aston Villa and Sunderland was wonderful,” said Macheda. “My future? I hope to stay with Manchester United for a long time. We are the best team in the world.”

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito has voiced his unhappiness with Macheda leaving their youth system for United, something which is allowed to happen because of insufficient regulations in Italy concerning their young players.

“Lotito? To him and to others, who can only criticize, I will not even respond,” Macheda added. “But I still love Lazio. I am happy they won the Coppa Italia.”

Scott, why do you always capitalise “world”?

  2. OP says:

This is exactly what we want to see

  3. denton davey says:

Good lad. I think he has “the stuff” to be excellent. Who knows – he might even take a big, big step up this next year. For sure, he’s a boy in a man’s body – like Rooney was before him.

  4. rc7 says:

Hope he keeps on improving. Don’t let the fame get to his head.
The winner against Villa was moment of the season for me “better than sex”

  5. Mozz says:

absolutely love the lad. hopefully next season will shine

i would not be surprised to see the number 7 on the back of his shirt in 8 weeks time
the age the hint of an ego the talent
he’s like a young whats his name mmmmmm ?????? ronaldo

  7. Gudjohnsen says:

Good lad Kiko, this is what we want to hear. But please, if you’re not going to be a man of your words like Ronaldo and Tevez, it’s better to keep quiet. Just a tip…

  8. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    fuck lazio

  9. Giuseppe Rossi says:

good good….but we need one more Italian

  10. cantona7 says:

Lets give Kiko the chance. I would give Kiko the number7. He has all the traits you need to be a global brand- good-looking, charm, charisma.

  11. Marq says:

He looks strong when he played, winning quite a few headers from balls pumped forward, something even Berbatov didn’t do well enough! And from the game against Everton in the FA Semi, he looks to have a great understanding with Welbeck, if only Welbeck can built up his strength and hold off defenders’ challenges, we have a potential Cole-Yorke MKII in the making!

  12. Saad says:

@ Denton – Er dont u mean a man in a boys body??

  13. PJW says:

Kiko will be very good. In the game against Hull he was unlucky not to score a couple. He has alot of potential. So does Welbeck – in the same game he was doing damage down the wing at very opportunity. He just needs to learn to pass. With more games these two will improve dramatically.

  14. Drew Vader says:

I hope he gets more minutes this year, and in then in two years time, when he is at the ripe old age of 20, he could be amazing…

I want to see him link up with his mate Fedurici or whatever it is, the other Italian youngster we have…

And I agree, we do need one more Italian. DANIEL DE ROSSI!!!!!

  15. Sunny says:

i want Adem Ljajic to get no.7

  16. superhans says:

i agree with Drew Vader. de Rossi would be perfect for Man Utd. He’s only 25 i think. I wonder what he would cost.

  17. Drew Vader says:

Petrucci* is who I was thinking of…

  18. Adrian says:

he’s gonna be amazing and this commitment is all that is needed to be successful! I am sure in a few year’s time this Welbeck-Macheda partnership will amongst the best in the world, then throw in the likes of Rooney and youths like Petrucci or Ljajic and this squad gonna be unbeatable!

  19. Drew Vader says:

DeRossi is just a pipe dream though unfortunately. He loves Roma and appears to be the rare breed of footballer who is 100% commited to his hometown team. I don’t think he would leave even if Roma was desperate for some cash.

  20. tony-starks says:

Thats what he says now, just wait till he becomes a star and it all gets to his head!

  21. FailsworthDevil says:

I wonder if the number 7 could work any magic on Mr Berbatov??

  22. superhans says:

I agree that we should be very happy with the young talents we have. Including Kiko ofcourse. The only thing we need is a really strong central midfielder. An Essien type player.

ps. Serbia’s U21s play against italy tonight, i think. Could be a good opportunity to see Tosic in action.

  23. Besher says:

By the way tosic and lilijac will play tonight

  24. Giuseppe Rossi says:

    GIUSEPPE ROSSI………migliore calciatore italiano…..migliori che de rossi….

    “ITZ A ME MARIO” :) :)

  25. Fabio says:

Great potential…. The future’s bright! the future is manchester united.

  26. Stephen says:

Besher, Ljajić is in the under 19′s mate.

  27. Carrick's Fucking Magic says:

    stephen
ljajic is in the serbia i21 squad mate…hes that good

  28. Stephen says:

I don’t think he is mate.

  29. w says:

Did anyone see Rossi’s goals last night!!! We don’t need Tevez bring Rossi back!

  30. Anon says:

@ Stephen uhh yes he is. And creating quite a stir too i might add.

  31. Stephen says:

    They havn’t played yet???????????????

  32. Besher says:

The game is after 2hours and 45 minutes with italy

  33. Stephen says:

The point is that Adem Ljajić isn’t in the under 21′s squad, Anon get your facts right before you spout off mate.

  34. Tufty says:

The lad needs to go out on loan and get experience with a decent Championship Club (Prem clubs 2ont develop other prem clubs stars, so he wont get games there).
Against Everton, Hull and Boro he looked lost at times and wasnt always in the game. Its all well and good coming on and getting a goal with your first touch, but countless players have done that over the years only to drift off into oblivion.
I would send him out on Loan till the end of January.

  35. twinnyd says:

@ Anon and Carrick’s Fucking Magic

Ljajic was in the provisional U-21 squad but was then sent to the squad for the U-19 Championship. That will do his confidence much good since he will be a sure starter in the U-19 squad rather than coming off the bench for the U-21 team.

  36. andre_k says:

@ stephen, 4 games one goal for the under 21s mate, not sure if he’s in the euro squad though…

    isnt macheda playing for italy?

  37. RedDevil007 says:

Mates, remember when Rossi was on loan at Newcastle and those morons wouldn’t play him? Look at him banging them in for fun now. And look at Newcastle.

  38. Drew Vader says:

There was a video on Ljajic over at 101greatgoals the other day showing a recent Under 19 game… He scored on a classy free kick and had a few other insightful passes. He is also apparently a regular for his club side at just 17, and they won the Double I think it said. So, not too shabby! Can’t wait to see him in action.

  39. Drew Vader says:

And I kinda agree with Tufty…. It wouldn’t hurt Kiko to go on loan to a Championship side where he can play week in week out just to see how he does. It didn’t hurt Becks any. We can tell someone like Newcastle, Hey morons, play this kid if you want to have any chance of bouncing straight back up. Don’t sit him on the bench like Rossi.

  40. RJ says:

Just hope he DOES turn out to be good!

  41. dan_utd says:

I definitely don’t want to see Rossi back at United any time soon. He is doing the same thing to Villareal that Ronaldo did to us, Macheda, Petrucci, and Welbeck are the future attack at united.

  42. King Eric says:

The future of United. This is exactly the sort of thing we want to hear. His goal against Villa was the highlight of the season for me, the place just erupted. Is he in the squad tonght? watched some footage of Ljijac last night and the lad looks excellent.

  43. ¡No Pasarán! says:

    @dan_utd

it’s not the same thing at all quite frankly. The contexts of Rossi and Ronaldo are vastly different. Besides, Rossi is’s 22 years old, still has time to develop and he’s already this good. Lippi himself said Rossi was the future of the national side…so he definitly has a future, i can’t see why it couldn’t be at Utd.

  44. Fze123 says:

If only Ljajic can start at the beginning on next season, it’s a shame we have to wait until january. we could’ve given him the number 7 shirt, he really is something; extremely talented. hope he’ll do really well for us in the future.

  45. RedHarry4Life says:

Is Kiko, Petrucci Tosic and Ljajeic playing tonight in the 7:30 under 21 match?

  46. AlphaRS says:

United need to use some of these kids they have spent ridiculous amounts of money on in the first team. Macheda, Welbeck, Tosic, Ljajic, Anderson, Nani, to name but a few. And if they are not good enough ship them out. But don’t do that before we have given them a chance!

  47. unitedgirl15 says:

Kiko you made my year with that Villa goal!
Fist visit to OT for ages, what a game!

    Good lad :) x

  48. RedHarry4Life says:

PETRUCCI is pure class. If you think Kiko is good you will be in for a treat if Petruccis progresses. He out injured I think.

Gonna sit and watch Tosic see what hes like

  49. King Eric says:

AlphaRS – ” Ridiculous amounts of money”. I take it you DON’T mean Kiko and Wellbeck, even though you named them two in your list?

  50. King Eric says:

Off topic – With the small amount the dippers will be spending why the fuck has the FSW gone for Johnson? How many full backs do they need? That is the LEAST of their problems. Clueless cunt.

  51. Stephen says:

King Eric, it is a funny mate, what do you do if you have very little money to spend in the summer and need a striker and a centre back?
You spend £18.5m on Glen Johnson, in Rafa we trust.

  52. Nemanja says:

Tosic was very impressive tonight. Best player on the pitch.

Apparently we got Tosic just so we could get Llajic. Well, if Llajic is better than Tosic and 3 years younger, I can’t wait to see him in a UTD shirt.

  53. jcolas says:

Speaking of staying for a long time and making profits, this article is interesting

  54. pawaka21 says:

seeing giuseppe rossi goals against USA in confed cup…do we miss out on special talent???just wondering whether we should not let him go in the first place…

  55. Corea says:

Rossi is a bloody goos player, but with Macheda and Wellbeck we have the players, who will supply the support for our star strikers. I don’t think either of them are worse players than Rossi.
Look at how he scores the first goal. Nobody attacks him aтв ру has all the time in the world to let the shot go.
Don’t be overemotional. I think Fergie sold him even knowing what player he will eventualy become but we don’t know what really happened.

  56. Rite$h says:

hope fergie does not do a rossi with him as well…

  57. five says:

Rossi never made an impact on the hearts of United fans like Macheda did with those goals

  58. ldyinred says:

Kiko has the heart, the talent, and ambition to be a staple at OT. Please don’t ever compare him to that whiny, selfish little baby whose name escapes me right now… uuuh, you know, he wore cantonas number, score something like 41 goals previous season…yeah, you know who I’m talking about right? why cant I think of his name… .

  59. OTRed says:

Its easy to love United and be grounded when you’re still quite unknown, lets wait till when and if he becomes a superstar with RM, Barca and other clubs offering him insane amounts of money to play for them, will the love still be there?
