Sampdoria club president, Riccardo Garrone, has confirmed that Federico Macheda will join the Serie A outfit until the end of the season.
“I am very happy that Macheda has chosen Sampdoria and I think it’s the same for the fans,” said Garrone. “Macheda has easily filled the void left by Cassano, he will definitely do well. In these five months we will try to treat him well. With him here, the enthusiasm has increased tenfold.”
Sampdoria are currently 8th in Serie A, after finishing 4th last season.
One of their star men, Antonio Cassano, left the club last month for AC Milan after previously falling out with the manager. He also fell out with Garrone after refusing to attend an award ceremony and the club went as far as requesting a contract termination. Permission wasn’t granted but just for Christmas a deal with Milan was agreed.

Man Utd News 24/7

Took the easy path. Won’t be too surprised if he leaves us after the preseason.
Will have to show truly amazing form to come back to united
Already their best striker. Good choice.
See you in august Mach3!
If had a futur with us, would have stayed in the country
This could be good thing.
I for one am yet to be convinced by Kiko, but if Sir Alex can see something then there must be something!
Seeing the way Welbeck has been performing should give Macheda a clue as to what he needs to do.
Things are looking bright………
All we need now is Hargo but I’m not holding my breath….. shame.
Surprised by the move cos Fergie wanted him in the premier league. well its done so hope he does well and returns to us a better player.
I wonder if at Sampo he wil he progress enough to come back and make an impact in this league.
give him 6 months in italy, pre season with utd, then season long loan in the prem 2011/12…
I would like him to go to Wes Brom cause that will benefit him and for our club as well in this crazy season
Best of luck to him. Don’t know what this means for his future with us and can’t say I find too much in guessing. I would have sent him up to Everton, but what is done is done. I always wish all of our youngsters success and veiw Kiko as a special talent. Hope he gets loads of games and becomes a star! Personally he seems a classy guy, hope he can pull things together and do us proud.
Good Bye Kiko. Thanks for the late goals. You’ll be remembered…
Best thing all round. He gets some much needed game time, which should boast his confidence.
We don’t play in Serie A so why is he going there. Prefer him to stay in Premier League but if he’s guaranteed playing time then so be it. Only danger is he might love it too much and leave just like Rossi. Not sure relying on Owen is sensible.
never been overly impressed with him but hasn’t really played much to pass full judgement,at least a loan spell and regular football we’ll see what he’s made of.agree with some of the other lads think fergie should have sent him to a team in the prem.
I sadly think that’s it.
Fergie would have loan him to a pl club if he really wanted him to benefit..
pitty.
Good luck kid.
Hopefully we will have 3-4 fit strikers for the rest of the season…
Ferguson said in the pre-season that the only reason why Macheda stayed was because of his temperament. I do not think he would last long under Di Matteo or Moyes … he is very outspoken and he is a young, cocky Italian.
I honestly think that he would have been of the same mold of Balotelli if it was not for him being under the guidance of Sir Alex.
Costas – yep. I think it’s risky to loan him. rooney seems to be out for 1 or 2 weeks. owen is injury prone as ever.
Can’t see him coming back now.
His all round play and understanding of the game is not good enough for a club like United, but I can see him have a decent career somewhere else. Best of luck to him.
Good luck Kiko, you will always be remembered for two outstanding contributions.
1. The goal against villa. How the hell did you do that??
2. Calling rooney a “coatto” before the scandal broke. How the hell did you know??
Lets hope Berba, chicharito and rooney can stay healthy!
Hammons, Cocky is good to a point. Comes with the breed, forwards, in my view. Still a worry if Moyes didn’t want anything to do with him. Where did you hear that? Anyway, he needed a loan and now he has it. Hope Kiko finds a rich goal scoring vein in Italy. If nothing else, it will improve his value and that is not a bad thing.
his goal against villa was immense for our championship win.
He’s on the lam!
Will never forget that goal against Villa. 2009 saw me bouncing up and down like a madman on 3 occasions: Kiko’s goal against Villa, Ronaldo putting us 3-2 in front against Spurs at OT and Michael Owen scoring the winner against Shity.
My gut feeling says that we haven’t seen the last of Kiko scoring for United.
Kiko’s power is in his self-belief. Playing well and often in front of roaring Italians should empower him. He might return if Fergie is still fit.
Wouldnt write him off yet. He’s still very young and has been at the club since he was 17. Really do think he has a future here. But, if not, wish him the best of luck!
Like many before me I think as he’s gone on loan to Italy he won’t be returning, can see another Rossi situation here.
Would have liked him to have gone to a WBA or likewise and seen him ‘do a Welbeck’ and perform in the Premier League.
This will do you the world of good, Kiko. We look forward to welcoming you back in the summer.
Hope he checked under the sauce.
Kiko will be back – no doubt about that
Off topic
Mourinho is wearing a snood
Fucking hell – what a laugh
first real comment on this great website. Think this is probably the best thing for Macheda. Although I dont see why this necessarily has to be the end for Kiko. He is only 19 after all
MG – I don’t want Mourinho as our next manager, no snoods allowed! On Kiko, I’m with costas on this one, don’t think we’ve seen the last of him in a United shirt. He hasn’t impressed, when he’s started games, but he has something special about his game. the 2 goals against Villa, were world class finishes.
I agree with Notorious red devil. We dont play in the Serie A League.
Well thats as far as i know!
This is a huge error, particularly with the likes of Everton, Wigan , West Brom, and his second favourite English club Aston villa all in need of a good striker and reportedly interested him.
The crux for me is the mircaculous and fantastic form of Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
Therefore i think United will have four spearhead strikers inclusive of those two.
I tried to think, someone help me how often is it a United player is loaned abroad and returns to United from the loan period? I can think of Jonny Evans but I am sure there are more.
To me it shows all the signs of goodbye Kiko. Which is sad.
Nothing wrong with being cocky! The three things i admire the most: The Fathers:Ferguson and the Munich Ghosts.
I like a bit of Don Mclean, or a lot of Madonna!
When players go on loan at united, they don’t come back.this will not be an exception.
Beckham?
Evans
this loan was no brainer, it had to be made has macheda was hardly getting any games
Rotegzy – seriously, that’s bollocks
I think this move might improve Macheda’s potential sale price, and put him out there on the European market. So if he’s going to go, he’ll probably go for more.
Welbeck
Leave’s us a bit light upfront for this season in my opinion; Berba, Rooney and Hernandez are fine but we can’t rely on Owen to stay fit and with Welbeck already out on loan it does surprise me he’s off now and not in the summer once (hopefully) Welbeck has returned.
He definitely will benefit from regular playing time. SAF made it clear that he preferred a PL loan for Kiko, which hints that SAF wants him back, and I’m not surprised, because SAF has consistently spoken very highly of Kiko. But Kiko has gone to Italy … does this indicate that Kiko himself wants to return there permanently? Time will tell. He is of course still very young. Even at the end of *next* season, he will still be only 20. I suspect the big event this year has been the arrival and immediate success of Chicharito. Chicharito himself needs (and has earned) more first-team playing time, and has already proven that despite his relatively small build, he can cut it in the PL. What a class act he is.
Something that gets lost, when we talk about these young players, is how difficult it is to juggle the timing of when they all start to mature. It’s a major challenge to keep giving players like Kiko and Wellbeck and Chicharito the time, experience, encouragement and rewards that they need in order to progress. It’s inevitable that some of them will go out on loan. Sometimes, when players go out on loan, you know it’s the beginning of the end of their careers with us — that the loan is really nothing more than a trial period. I hope that isn’t the case with Wellbeck and Kiko. I hope that they’re loans for the right reasons. I hope they come back.
RedScot
I thought you caught the last train for the coast.
bchilds – More than enough up front mate. Pointless him sitting on the bench every week, he needs minutes on he pitch.
Lets just hope that Wayne ends the season with no injury worries. That will be a welcome change…
hmmm , I spelled Welbeck wrong too
@ Smart alex, you got half the innuendo, but promise me only half!
Half full glass of whisky and rye.
Hmm… so he was allowed to go to Italy. I’m afraid he won’t be coming back, no matter how he performs there.
smartalex says:
Half full glass of whisky and rye aye something like that!
If you read further up the blog mate rather than just pop in at the end.Read who said Cocky about Macheda. Hammons, from the great United blog the United religion.
Thats his motto, Three things I admire the most, etc etc etc. I was having a laugh with him as he did with me yesterday.
As i am reasonably cocky maself.
But this is about Fredrico Macheda, not scoring points, because you WILL, loose.
RedScot
Missed that connection, too slow.
What is the connection to Madonna?
Jaysus fuck, this is a United blog about fucking Football not Musik Both Don Mclean and Maddona sung American pie, next!
On fredrico please.
Kiko’s power is in his self-belief. Playing well and often in front of roaring Italians should empower him. He might return if Fergie is still fit.
@willierednut
I’m not sure it does, Owen we certainly can’t rely on to be fit and even if he is fit I don’t think he’s any better than Kiko or Welbeck. It only takes Rooney to fall awkwardly on his ankle for him to be out for weeks and that only leaves us with Berba and Chicharito. I suppose Nani could play up front at a push – providing we actually have some wingers anytime soon!
Love this kid. But fear that him and Welbeck will be off if they have to come back to United and warm the bench. Just as Pique did.
AlphaRS – welbeck could easily get games on the wide positions has it is united’s weakest area for depth.
Would have preferred Macheda went somewhere and scored goals against our rivals rather than Italy. Also would like to see Eikrem out on loan and getting EPl experience as we are not giving it to him.
Didn’t Ole sign Eikrem?
@Willie yes he is at Molde, yikes i need more drink.
A real shame that he didn’t go to a club in the premier league. Although Danny has been performing well it still remains to be seen if he can take that form with him to the big stage, playing week in week out for Us. I think Cleverly is ready to get the red jersey and play alongside the Ginger prince and grow beside him before he hangs up his boots. As someone said (maybe even Cleverly himself), A day in training with Scholes gives more than a season on loan at another club.
@ Passe, Really mate,Danny has been performing well it still remains to be seen if he can take that form with him to the big stage!
You mean like being man of the match against Chelsea and twice since, for Sunderland.
A bigger stage than that? I sorta know its only Chelsea, but it was at the bridge.
i like your faith in Tom, he is gonna be a star also.
RedScot:
As I said, he has been performing really good in Sunderland and he has proven many wrong. What I
was trying to imply was that once you pull the red jersey on, expectations are sky high and just a couple of bad games and maybe missing a few chances can easily get the snowball rolling into a giant monkey hanging over your shoulders and fans getting on your back and when that happens, It is a test of character that separates men from small boys playing at the Arsenal training centre™, just ask Berbatov.
@ Passe i hear what you are saying, regards proven many wrong, thats so true!
enjoy this fact.
Take a moment out as an example an look at Dannys goal scoring record in relation to time played, in comparison to as an example Rooneys that old cliche springs to mind you can only score against what is put in front of you.He danny as acomplished this with huge credit it my eyes, as i wrote previously on here anyone who was rejected bye Man City at the age of 10 gets my total support and backing.
He wears a Red jersey already, although candy stripes. Dont underestimate this Lad he is gonna
be Uniteds future along with Hernandez.
I dont get the Berbatov relationship he is 30, and finally getting support from the fans and repaying them.
Italian league is a tough league for strikers. Hope he does well there. I doubt Sir Alex will let him leave..so far from what we have seen, SAF has been really fond of him.
I personally would have preferred for him to have stayed in England…maybe a club like Everton. But SAF knows best!
*** 8*** years of age
Rogatez said When players go on loan at united, they don’t come back.this will not be an exception.
O Shea
@fletch:
Ferguson made the comment about him not being able to go on loan this summer after Welbeck and before Cleverley went out (i will have to look it up).
Everton, who are in desperate need of a forward probably inquired, and WBA were linked with him, which, in my opinion, either of them should have happened over a move back to Italy. I am not sure how much he will benefit from the move to Sampdoria, because, as we all know, Italian style is very different, and it is not a striker’s league. The focus is on defense, which will either make him have to work harder and make into a better player, or it will have the reverse effect and get him into the diving frame of mind like the rest of them.
Cockiness is certainly something that every footballer should have, but, like everything else in life, there is a fine line, which some of us / them often get strangled .
@ Hammons Strangle me then”Cockiness is certainly something that every footballer should have, but, like everything else in life, there is a fine line, which some of us / them often get strangled .
But you wont strangle my views, Innit. lmao.
Keep it Red or you are fucking dead.
Ps Hammons enjoyed your pre match review of the Stoke game mate, pure class.
RedScot: Ha! You know how many times I have hung myself with my cockiness!? To be honest, I think my lady would like to strangle me even when I haven’t strangled myself.
Thanks, Red Scot – Let’s just hope we enjoy the result just as much tomorrow. … don’t think it will be the normal ass-whooping we have given them the last two years, though.
I’m sure he will be, and there’s nothing more I would like than for a local lad like Danny to make the grade and become a great player because after all that’s exactly what this club is about. If you don’t get the Berbatov relationship then we could just as well replace his name with Nani’s. It wasn’t that long ago that the fans where on his back but he came through it and showed that he is United class. Fucking hell, atleast there’s a game of footy to be played tomorrow and we can just admire the league table after going 3 points clear of the berties.
@ Hammons in all their five matches united has outscored Stoke 14-1. says it all or your article does. Bring it on and enjoy the match. A united win nothing else, or call for Sir Alexs immediate dissmissal.
Be here tommorow night, will be brilliant, I love a little hanging dont you! lmao
Keep writing mate i will keep reading. Yer a class act.
Need a pint, Laters. Mwahhhhh ****
Fucks sake when did he get transferred to Molde and how come it’s not advertised.Shit hot player with a massive future in the game if its true somebodies messed up bigtime.
Red Scot
Been a while my friend, hope all is well and happy new year to you and yours……
UNITED for life
@Hammons, My views on the move exactly. Just hadn’t realized that his personality was the liability to move him up the road to Everton. Bit sad as Moyes is a great boss and Everton are a bit desperate for strikers atm. Would have been a good match in my view. Also loved Saha and figure he would be a decent mentor. Not a good mentor on how to stay fit mind, but on how to poach a proper goal or two and how to play the lone man up top. Sweet striker of the ball, Saha. Also be good to get some tips of of Cahill who can do things with his head that just don’t seem possible. Ofcourse, our own Chicharito is way better, but still one needs to show proper respect for those who can make it work with what Everton have to offer. Anyway, water under the bridge. Hope he gets something out of the loan and comes back with a new found appreciation for why he needs to fight for his spot here.
@RS: I will definitely keep writing – so get ready to be bored to death … enjoy your pints – its time for me to play a little wii and have a little gin.
@fletch: Moyes is a wonderful boss and is of the Ferguson mold, so it is disheartening to see a team that we need to score against our five title rivals, and the shit of club liverpool was not able to take him. I think Moyes has a Scottish temper, and I don’t think it would be a good mix, and I don’t think Ferguson thought so, either. I thought it would have been a no brainer of a move – close where he could monitor his progress, but far enough for him to grow as a player. He needs games, and maybe he would not have gotten them at Goodison – i look forward to hearing any comments Ferguson is going to make, though.
In my opinion, I think we might have seen the last of Kiko … hopefully, I am wrong!
Off topic: Looking forward to Stoke. Last 2 visits to OT have been 5-0 and 4-0 to us, so we can hope for more of the same. Hope Chicharito or Owen (if fit) get a crack. Want Rooney ready for Looserpool.
Scott, please find someone sensible for your visit with the enemy. Last year recall an absolute looser who seemed completely out of touch and unable to spar and completely out of his depth.
Come on lads, should be a good time to pull out a real United performance. Hope the atmosphere improves.
@RedScot, go back to your dram laddie. “A united win nothing else, or call for Sir Alexs immediate dissmissal.” At the end of the day, Sir Alex will still be in first place with a game in hand and we will still be United fans. Maybe so, if you are takin a piss, but I doubt it will come to that.
Cheers all
Giuseppe Rossi number 2. The ones who go abroad always stay there. Sad… but thanks for the Villa goal Kiko!
Pique was another one went on loan to spain and that was pretty much the end of that despite some of the sour grapes shown towards him.
I don’t know why people still bang on about Pique he was ALWAYS going to move to Barcelona it was between him and Evans and lets not forget how good Evans was before he hit poor form this season, Evans is guranteed to stay, Pique was always gonna bugger off to barca soon as they came in.
@ Five -That comment is about as true as Rooney off to cit-eh no foundation whatsoever. Its not banging on about him either its just an example of the Macheda situation. When Pique went wasn’t too bothered one of very few players who have left United and done pretty well for themselves but the transfer fee we got considering the debt we’re in was beyond a joke.
He wasn’t one of the best CD in the world at the time, he was a squad player at United. 4 million up front, plus another 2 million in add ons, I think that’s what it was. I was thinking, decent money for a bit part player, but he’s certainly progressed at Barcelona, no doubt about that.
@ Fletch I would back of Laddie i know more about Sir Alec than you can imagine, if yer little pop at the drams was funny it failed.
In a Glesga accent yer a hoon and a fookin failed hoont. Dinna bather yer a waiste ohh ma fukin time
You dont read other blogs as often highlighted on here.
I have sung the praises of our boss more than most.
My post was a joke, twat
Even still willierednut when a big club like Barcelona come sniffing you fleece them. If you look at our transfer policy of players leaving OT we get the rough end of the deal most of the time. Still think we sold Ronaldo for £20 million less than we should, then you have £10 million we got for Ruud! Think the best bit of business of players leaving we ever did was the summer of 07 think we made about £40 million in transfer fees £6 million for Smith and same again for Richardson. When United go in for players 99% of the time we end up paying more than most other clubs would and think we should do the same with players especially the young ones.
NRD – I think the 80 million we got for Ronnie was great money, but where did i go, is the question we should be asking. In the case of Ruud, he fell out with SAF. The boss wanted him gone asap, so that probably knocked a few million of the asking price. In terms, when we go for a player, United always end up paying top dollar. Veron was a prime example. we offered 22 million, but end up paying 28 million for some strange reason.
harry says:
”Giuseppe Rossi number 2. The
ones who go abroad always stay there. Sad … but thanks
for the Villa goal Kiko!” that is not true
Fraizer Campbell,Danny Simpson,Danny Higginbotham,John O’Shea,Darron Gibson,Craig Cathcart,Jonny Evans all went abroad and came back to united.
Replaces CASSANO? Thats a big ask for a young guy.
This question may have been asked before, but:
How many players in the last 10 or so years have been given out on loan and come back to have a decent career with the club? I feel like most of our loanees are sort of just given away
willierednut – well unless we get change of ownership with owners that can actually pay sometimes the going rate when it is needed, then we will never know where the cash went. Not all the time, but when united need a player that is when the glazers are coming up short. I stand by the view they are trying to use success on the cheap. I still laugh at comments like wakey when he says owners like the glazers united need when very little has gone into the club
@ fitb – Totally agree mate, ABUs and some United fans bang on about when we spent £30 million on Nani and Anderson and £50 million in total that season when we sold players to the value of £40 million as well that season. Think we’re allowed to spend £10 million after we’ve just won the league. We did need another striker last year after argie troll fucked off and to rely on Owen ended up being a mistake especially as Kiko was off away on international duty and then did his hamstring in. The proof in the pudding will be when Giggs, Scholes, Neville, VDS and even Hargreaves retire. The gaffer has said he’ll look to spend then but its clear to me Lindergaard is the replacement for VDS and Nani and Anderson the replacements for Giggs and Scholes. We shall see if we go and get the ball winning midfielder that I think will make our squad complete.
Bloody hell I could do a job in barcas back four. As for people saying kiko is a better option than owen. Not in my opinion. Bring owen on in an important game , say the dippers fa cup tie , and the lad will get you a goal. Stil a goal machine and very helpful to the younger players when around. As for eikrem at twenty one twenty two he jusy wasn’t developing fast enough build wise. Still like a stick insect. Especially when ya look at tunnicliffe who at seventeen is a fucking beast. Hard as nails. Box to boxer and can finish too. BIG fan of this lad.
Whys he going to a Serie A club when his future will be in the premiership. Its hard enough adapting to the football here let alone leaving and going to a fairly mediocre league like that.
Good article from SAF regarding agents:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/02/sir-alex-ferguson-agents
Five – well said. We couldnt keep both pique and evans. Made much more sense to keep evans.
even though pique is now arguably the best CD in the world. wish he was english (so he’d stay over here, couldnt give a fuck about the naitonal team)
Well Macheda to Sampo. When UK work starts in few hours, wud be interesting to see the statement on the official website.
James Chester ,one of our promising central defenders is on his way to Hull on a permanent
deal according to the club he is on loan now.
Nicky Ajose ,very good young striker ,apparently given a new contract by Utd ,after some excellent loan performances.
Team news on RedNews puts Brown,Shea on the list , wondered why they were missing this period. If they ar chomping at the bit, this wud be a good game for them tonight ,if thier fresh and not rusty.
Gary Neville got slaughtered over here in Asia by pundits like Steve McMohan. They say he only played to get 400 games under his belt. Cringe worthy opinions.
He goes on to say the referee was so scared of Fergie he did not give the penalty for west brom.
Gary Neville got slaughtered on the Premier League’s official overseas programming (Hosted by John Dykes), Alan Curbishley and Chris Coleman ripped into him. Honestly I cringed when I saw him on the team news page.
Ah, hopefully he becomes as good as Rossi but comes back, miss that guy
And on the Rossi note, think about who he had ahead of him, I think he was just fed up of waiting for the first team opportunity that he needed
Adios Kiko, we wil always remember you for that goal against Villa. I av a feeling dat we wont see kiko again in a United shirt. He wants italy , sir alex wants the prem bt he got his wish. And sampdoria wil no doubt wants to keep him and he wants to play regularly 4 d Azurris. Gud luck kiko. Hope rooney, berba, chico and welbeck stay okay next season. I dnt think we wil see kiko again on this shores
I doubt we’ll ever see you in a Utd shirt again. Anywhow, all the best Kiko, thanks for everything.
would have preferred he joined a premier league club but don’t think he wanted to throw away the opportunity of going back to italy for sometime away but i really don’t see the point of joining sampdoria if he actually aims to be a future united player, west brom were interested, they play great football and he wouldn’t struggle to break into there team but oh well, sir alex obviously rates him so lets see how it pans out but ideally learning his trade in a league he’d supposedly be playing in would be a good choice, but don’t rule out him returning just yet but we can’t hide away the fact this could be another rossi situation, hope its not.
@United; Hows John Dykes doing over there? since he left the asia espnstar ,they cancelled the programs he hosted and went for a new lineup. This new lineup not doing so well.
@Lexxy: Only time will tell ,its 50;50 if he does leave,Manutd beleive in him so he might come back
or if other developements take place with other players at Manutd or new signings then maybe yeah hes gone. only time will tell.
Manchester United winning the battle tonight.
Arsenal and City neutralise each other Wednesday night.
Wolves winning thier battle tommorow night.
I just hope that he doesn’t replace Cassano at the buffet table…
He will never return
Any truth to these kaka rumours,??
@Dave Malaysia
He is the same as always, which is awesome. In Singapore we get the all that Premier League overseas programming + a few of the ESPN Star shows (McMahon and Shebby Singh the legend haha). I always thought he should have Richard Keys’ job, so much better at it.
I WANT JAMES RICHARDSON IN ASIA.
It´s good for Mach to get some grasstime. We still have good cover in the attack. Does anyone know if Welbeck comes back now in january?
Macheda in interviwe in Gazetta “”I’ll be in Italy either on Wednesday or Thursday… In 6 months United will have a stronger player. I’ll try and make Sampdoria not regret Cassano. Ferguson is a maestro. The best manager in the world and I’m sorry to leave him even for a brief period, but he encouraged this new experience”
irwinisalegend @ 7:28
50million for a player in his late 20′s = rumour
50 million for someone in his late 20s with injury problems = FAKE
Lets splash out another 50 for Ronaldinho, lol.
As for tonight, my predicted line up goes like this:
VDS – Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra – Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Nani – Berba, Hernandez.
Rooney and Giggs rested for Liverpool.
Costas
Another
Italian
Gone?
Kiko hopes for Starters berth. Cassano deserted AIG’s Buffet.
Settle for bangers and macheda.
Nani in the starting 11? Now that would be something.
You wanted KAKA but you got BELLAMY!!!! Love that chant!!
@smartalex
Another Italian Gone, lol.
Anyway, I don’t think this Italian is gone just yet. Someone mentioned Rossi. We selled him after a loan spell at Newcastle, not at a club aboard.
@Fletch the Man, Sorry mate I should not have called you a twat in my post that was childish of me.
I just thought in your post to me you were trying to humilate me.
Anyways sorry.
Must go and earn some pennies.
I guess the fact that Macheda came to United in the first place shows he believes it is a good place to be. Also, he has been respectful during these loan arrangements.
He said “In Manchester, there was too much competition. Ferguson is a teacher, the best coach in the world and I’m sorry to leave him, even for a short period, but he also encouraged me to take this new experience.” So he is not saying that United treat him unfairly or hold him back.
He even hints at returning “In this regard, we are all happy because in six months’ time, Manchester United will get a stronger player.”
This loan is attracting interest, let’s hope for a good return!
@ Dave Malaysia….
Do you watch the stupid program named “the monday night verdict”??????
They discuss about the penalty for West Brom ……they don’t even mention about the penalty that should have been given to United (not even a word) ….they don’t talk about the Van Persie diving n his handball….Biased cunts …….
In the game at St.Andrews they never mentioned about Zigic fouling Ferdinand ,his handball…but questioned the refereeing decisions that went against Arsenal……
Kiko’s interview saying he wants to play 10-20 games then come back to United a stronger player, also called SAF the best in the world:)
I really hope the lad comes back, how amazing would it be to see Macheda and Welbeck rise and go into the team as formidable strikers?.
As for the Pique rumour having no foundation I disagree I think it was a given his grandfather was a former club president, if Gary Neville was at Real Madrid but obsessed with Manchester United if United came calling he’d move and that’s what happened with Pique.
“It’s a dream to return to Barcelona,” Pique said. so there you go we fulfilled his dream at best 2-3 seasons in he’d be harping on about returning to spain like Ronaldo.
and I wasnt singling anyone out for banging on about Pique I just meant in general its an attitude I see whenever Evans hits bad form.
@five
I’ve wanted Kiko and Danny to become established United players ever since they lined up together at the final 10-15 minutes of the VIlla game.
Bastard Aldridge having a go at us… http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2011/01/04/john-aldridge-manchester-united-are-there-for-the-taking-100252-27928124/#ixzz1A3aOgQ5U
Who?
First Aldridge says “Liverpool have nothing to fear at Old Trafford” then he says they “can’t just sit back on Sunday”.
Idiot.
Pretty deluded words when you consider he is talking about a Liverpool team that lost to Wolves at Anafield recently.
And we were there for the taking in September alright. For the 5 minutes our defence switched off. They created shit in the other 85 minutes. I had a Liverpool friend wonder how lucky they were not to concede 3-4 in the first 60 minutes.
I’m quite sure we’ll see Macheda back… because Sampdoria most likely wouldn’t be able to afford the club’s valuation of Macheda (I think… if Richardson can be sold for 6, no reason we should value Macheda lower than 10mil).
But then again, the reason why Fergie wanted him in the league might be because PL clubs would be richer and probably more likely to afford the player should they want him permanently. Just a guess.
Of course, the upfront reason would be because they would be able to monitor him more closely in the same environment. Macheda must be stressed out seeing how Welbeck’s firing away and Mame doing fairly well at BB too.
All the best Kiko. He’ll be back, cos he’s made too much for a mark for us already.
@smartalex
“United aren’t the force they were”- am I the only one totally sick of that. That’s bitterness oozing out from aldridge there.
United aren’t the force they were. That’s a fair point, but lucky for us, the dippers are much worse. Never mind the Liverpoo game, lets get the 3 points tonight, then worry about the FA cup game on Sunday.
Guys, we should all remember Macheda is 19 and Danny is 18. Berba will be 30 soon, so after 2-3 years our young ones will be at the age when we can start relying on them and give them more minutes on the pitch. I think everything is in their hands and the most important thing for them is to be patient and wait for their chances to come. They both showed us their promise and what they can do, so nobody is writing them off at this stage including the master Fergie.
@willie
As in i don’t get it, how do people define “not the force you were”. Are we comparing with 1999 or 07/08? Teams are different, and i don’t see how one is able to compare. If that’s the case, not team will be the force they once were.
While the scousers may be totally not in form, as we all know, everybody turns up against us. So we have to be weary and prepare for them. But as you said, 3 points are all that’s important right now.
Does anyone know if Nani have been cleared to play today? Would be cool if Lindegaard started too.
willierednut – well why is that aldridge even commenting on liverpool like he was any good when he lasted about 2 years. What he fails to realise, united at OT are almost unstoppable. He should fear united at the TOD because united have only dropped 2 pts at OT. Liverpool have not exactly been great lost to wolves at home, and god knows how many other games they have lost. away from home is a different story, well the back 5 for united will probably be VDS rafeal ferdinand vidic evra, and I doubt united will be giving away 2 goal leads this time round
@Corea hi mate welbeck is 20 he was born in 1990 so 21 this year
Compared to previous seasons, United aren’t playing their usual free flowing football. Aldo makes a valid point, but we should still be too good for the dippers. Their main danger will be Torres, hopefully Rio and Vidic will be able to control him on the day.
Colbert – Lindegaard isn’t cleared for the Stoke game, though Nani should be fit.
@willierednut
Thanks, will be good to get some width back to our game with Nani’s return. But I thought the paperwork was done and Lindegaard was ready to play? That’s what I’ve read and someone on here confirmed it too the other day.
That’s it Aldridge, keep your spirits up. We do have a different team (we’re not chelsea). We are able to attract quality, and our youth set-up is legendary, so the team doesn’t stagnate. Also, Sir Alex has the acumen, experience and courage to effect positive change.
@wayne – tnx, Macheda is younger. messed it up a bit. anyway..
Forget Aldo, it’s on the day, that counts. @Colbert Something to do with it being a bank holiday, so he didn’t get clearance until today.
@willierednut
Ah, I see. Thanks.
I dont know do you remember what I said on the start of the season….that i m not sure thar young guys will get a chance…. And we were talking about macheda….
@United: Ur lucky. Is Richardson that good?
@Premierleagured: No,seldom, usually when surfing channels during dinner maybe stop to see what they say about us.
Yeah, they did not bother about the stuff u said, thats usual. what to do?
