Last Season’s Success Makes Us Top CL Earners

Reaching the final of last year’s Champions League final means we brought in more cash revenue than any other club, including Barcelona!

1. Manchester United – £38,281,000
2. Bayern Munich – £29,618,000
3. Barcelona – £26,544,000
4. Chelsea – £26,492,000
5. Werder Bremen – £25,143,000
6. Inter Milan – £24,240,000
7. Arsenal – £22,928,000
8. AS Roma – £22,328,000
9. PSV Eindhoven – £21,904,000
10. Lyon – £20,268,000
11. Liverpool – £19,866,000
12. Juventus – £18,950,000
13. Villarreal – £18,523,000
14. Real Madrid – £17,338,000
15. Panathinaikos – £15,859,000

It appears as though the money earned from TV rights is higher in England and Germany than it is in Spain!

  6. Downgrrl says:

Half of the TV and commercial pot is split depending on how much money is generated by each country’s television market. English TV generates by far the most.

We actually got significantly less because Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal got to the knockout stages. Had we been the only English club to do so, we could have got twice as much. The reason Bayern got so much is because a) the German TV (Premiere = SKY) pays quite a lot and b) Bayern were the only German club in the knockout stages and did not have to share.

  7. dubred says:

if we needed any more confirmation united are bigger than liverpool there it is haha
    10 places higher
    almost double the money

and we only played one game more than them not including qualifiers

  8. xavifamilia says:

    yeah, but after English taxes?

  9. xavifamilia says:

and united has the united states to thank for this. the global hegemony of the english language is due to american businesses.

  10. MG says:

I’d rather we had turned up outplayed the bloody Spanish and have beaten them. I’d rather we had retained the trophy than the money.

Oh well it’ll happen in the Bernabeu in front of Ex number 7 then he will realize that dreams are only true at OT

Here we come then : )

  11. TonyBee says:

Who gives a fuck about other teams revenue…..would rather give it all away and won the fucking competition….

  12. doncobaino says:

I just wish united would use some of this money and purchase a midfielder, im not talking about breaking the bank for ribery, however van der vaart or even david silva would be great for the team, because im sorry but in the big games.

giggs or scholes dont cut it no more.

  13. Tony Starks says:

Yeah but where is that money? No use being in the Glazers pocket is it?

  14. King Eric says:

doncobaino – We have more than enough midfielders. They just need to regain their form. Van Der Vaart is shit.

  15. King Eric says:

PS – Giggsy who can’t “cut it” created both our goals.

  16. Devilton says:

    almost 40 million!

    + 80 million for Ronaldo
+ 25 saved on that cunt

which begs the question…why on earth hasn’t SAF signed more quality?

Where is all that money going?

    Better toilet facilities?

    Debt?

    Prawn sandwich stands?

  17. bobkoh says:

How about cheaper jerseys for fans as a start to spend some of that money?

  18. irish-red says:

why are people still banging on about signing new players for fuck sake. we have a great squad of footballers including heaps of young players. they need games to improve which they will not get if we sign new players.
lets all just get behind the existing players and enjoy another season of great football.

if we dont win all before us this season like we have the last couple of years im sure fergie will delve into the transfer market next year.

comon the lads – 4 in a row!!!!

  19. Dakota says:

Good to know..i guess this year madrid’s gonna make as much as we made here, selling jersey’s though..

  20. Dakota says:

its good to know that we still have the world wide appeal!! go united!!

  21. redscot says:

Jaysus fingers crossed and more, its frightening the prospect of not getting there this term.
We will, gotta. The cash generated from that competition is budgeted in the plans and to not achieve, is unbearable.
Quarter finals this term was acceptable and keeps the Manchester United beast afloat, just, Failure in my opinion its bust.
