why are we being linked with adebayor? wot a useless lazy piece of shit
why are talking about adebeyor on a piece about Lee Martin?
Good luck to him, always thought he was a good player, not quite UTD quality though.
good for him! Wish him all the best for his future.
Why’s Dave talking about Adebayor??
Yeah I definately think he has the quality to be a Premiership regular..
Hope he does well and gets sold on for good money so that we can get a cut of it
I feel Chris Eagles is a better player than Martin
Not good enough for United, better news is Gibson signing a new 3 year deal. Glad that’s sorted and he’s staying. Fergie’s getting rid of the players who wouldn’t make it at our club, Martins, Campbell, Simpson, Eckersley, and keeping the kids who will, Wellbeck, Macheda, Gibson, Evans, marvelous.
@ marq
Can’t disagree there mate. One thing they are 100% equal on is that they both have fucking stupid haircuts
Yeah but Eagles is more older and experienced, I am sure Lee Martin will be at a much better level when he plays regularly and is injury free
Man we have produced some good players! (Even though they came from elsewhere!)
We didn’t get rid of Eckersley, he was offered a contract which he turned down to go play regular football, that was his own decision.
I like how often the first comment to these blog entries is often “heres some random completely unrelated piece of news i just wanted to throw out there for no reason”
It feels good to watch these games of other teams and think to yourself, oh there’s a United academy graduate right there!
I feel “getting rid” is much too harsh. A lot of them tried hard but just couldnt make it.
I feel it is an honour to wear the shirt, no matter at what level they are, they are part of the club. And it’s not like they made something wrong that we fans have to hate them (re some Argentines). So I think we should apreciate them more. They are directly part of the club’s history.
Never really rated him and hes 22, i guess, plus was no where to be seen near the first team squad.
I’m afraid but if he can’t make the grade at 22 then he never would have.
Anyways Best of Luck to him.
@Dazjoe
where did Simpson go ?
btw did anybody note in Fergie’s recent comments about the strikers, he spoke about Rooney, Berbatov, Welbeck & Macheda but didn’t mention Manucho at all :S
@ Cantona7
Well said, most of them have given it their best shot. If they are not figuring in SAFs plans then a move isnt the worst thing that can happen .Their roots are always with us.
@ fuzzy..
yep… hmm.. i think he might end up at Hull again next season on another loan.
We don’t have much time to develop Manucho game at his age of 26..
Hull boss Brown said he is a rough talent.
@corea
spot on.manucho must sold.even if we get 2-3 million for him its more than enough.i want to see petrucci in action.heard a lot about him.
good news .david gill has said we may make new signings
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5435790,00.html
I’m too not so hopeful about Manucho’ future at OT.
Not UTD Quality. Simple As.
Good Luck young fella – you are already a classier act than cuntlito tevez.
Hope Keano gets back up too.
Actually David Gill has talked about player activity. That could always mean players leaving the club. We still have Danny Simpson and a few other reserve players that could go for a loan. If Fergie tried to disguise the fact that we would go for more players, then Gill made a very good job of exposing him with this comment.
@costas
i think we may buy a few more youngsters.maybe costa.but no marquee signing bcoz if dat was the case owen wud nt have got no 7.i think simpson and manucho may leave
I genuinely didn’t realise Manucho was so old!
manucho is crap.wonder what he did in the trial to impress SAF
I’ve seen him, but he looks young! He doesn’t quite look good enough for us though, his first touch is worse than Tevez’s!
That’s it. Probably a youngster. As far as Macucho and Simmo are concerned, i wonder if SAF thinks they can still make it here. I think both have been unlucky. Maybe he would like to see them in some League cup matches. But it’s nice to see that the media were quick to grab on to something and start ridiculous rumors all over again. I wonder how long it will take before the names Villa, Ribery and Huntelaar are linked with us again.
Scott plz keep us posted on the latest happenings in the Asia tour.you guys can watch MUTV.We are nt that fortunate back here.
Shame Manucho did not progress anywhere near as much as we hoped.. I thought he was going to be class at Hull but he was just mediocre.. He had the talent but at this level you must have mental strength to develop further
You win some you lose some. At Fergie took the gamble.
@micky
Now SAF is buying so many youngsters ,do u think he is hoping same way dat a few will come good.?
@AIG Alex Is God
It’s the Man Utd way to invest in youth. With the amount of young players we constantly sign and bring through the youth team, of course some are going to come good. Obviously some won’t, but at least we take the risk.
@micky
i think the current crop of rafael,fabio,petrucci,macheda,welbeck,da laet and evans will come good.
i dnt think daron gibson is good enough as is danny simpson to make the cut
@AIG Alex Is God
Time will tell I guess. I rate Gibson highly, and think he isn’t that far behind Carrick
#micky
diagree on gibson.i dnt think he is dat good.but u never know.he may cme good.any news on Hargo?
Its a real shame he couldnt force his way into the first team as he has some great skill.
He had a superb season last year in reserves and I think some stability at a decent championship club will sort his carear out.
A real talent.
good on ya
Our website is saying that Gill’s comments about player activity was done back in JUne in a pre season interview with manutd.com. I thought something was fishy in this. All i am wondering is this: Didn’t the tabloids know the timeline of the interview? If they didn’t, then they should change their occupation right now. If they did know about the timing of Gill’s interview and they lied so blatantly, then Fergie should snub all media for the forthcoming season. This summer has been frustrating as it is, without having moronic headlines about Villa, Fabiano, Eto, Huntelaar and (for God Sake’s!) Adebayor.
GILL SAYS WE STILL MIGHT SPEND ON SKYSPORTS
@AIG
Not sure on Hargo, October I’ve heard… news is thin on the ground unfortunately
@ costas
so Manutd.com is denying that Gill made those comments yesterday?
i think we shud just laugh off these rumours.know its not gonna happen.
I still don’t believe Fergie was telling a few white lies (To get clubs to come to us about the players we enquired about and hence lower their fees & also to stop the papers helping inflate the prices of our targets)
The papers clearly don’t like this though, they would rather be writing stories about United than most other teams and Fergie has stopped them doing this so they have gone out and hunted for a quote they could use out of context to justify starting it up again to sell papers
Aig this is what i read from the website(the last paragraph):
http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=%7BC7DF7CEC%2D3BC3%2D4859%2DA3FD%2DFE4AAD215DD8%7D&newsid=6636342
I don’t know if he has said something different to Skysports. I can’t catch it.
Manucho was signed after impressing scouts in the African cup of nations a while back, in which he won golden boot and player of the tournament beating world class players such as- Drogba, Essien, Eto’o and others.
Ya, Manucho had a fantastic African Nations’ Cup, making the likes of Drogba & Eto look ordinary. But… …
Manucho signed before the African Cup, even before anyone saw what he could offer.. I wonder who spotted him..
It was probably Queroz? I always read stories about him being in places like Mozambique,Kenya,Angola looking at players plus Manucho speaks Portugese so wouldnt be surprised if it was Queroz.
But at 26 years of age I dont think Manuchos gonna make it for us…but he should be decent enough for lower tier teams ..he did alright at Hull
Lee Martin Is a God in my eyes!
Looking down Extra Time and Penalties and Lee Martin Strides Into the Box to Stroke home the Winner!…
Opps… Wrong Lee Martin!
The Lad had enough oppertunity to shine, He didnt fulfile his potential or Myabe wasnt good enough to make it at united so sell him on and be fair to the lad!
For all you Younger Man U Fans who might not look into the history!!
I am refering to the Fa Cup Final of 1990!!
