You were lucky today – oh so lucky! That’s the way it goes some time.. But I have to say that was the poorest Man U we have played for a very long time.
(And Yeah, le prof was pretty funny
)
highlights the mediocre stadium that old trafford is more than anything else.
Looks a bit lost, eh? Like a granny looking for someone to help him across the road!
sending him off was very harsh.it was obvious of him to get frustrated.arsenal didnt deserve to lose.the refree is a clown.how can you send off a manager for kicking a waterbottle
I have to admit, it was pretty funny.
HAHAHAHAHA… Class.
Did anyone notice the granny giving him loads!
Superb entertainment!
And why exactly are you lot laughing? How come when a year or so ago when your manager was complaining of getting similar treatment at the Emirates you weren’t laughing so much then. You were probably bitching and moaning about our stadium and all that shite and now here you’s are. No wonder everyone’s hates your clubs fans, got no dignity in winning or losing. A draw was the least Arsenal deserved today but the ref turned into a big giant pussy today.
I agree he didn’t deserve to be sent off but it was very funny! The ref was shite all game. Arsenal can feel a bit hard done by but you need that bit of luck to win titles!
ohhhh fuck off rd. go to some arse forum and banter as much as you like
United fans are disgraceful. The pedo song is way out of hand and demonstrates the lack of class from the cunts.
Marko we don’t give a fuck if everyone hates us we are quite used to it thank you very much.
why, hate just drives us on and on
Pat you have to admit he looks like he should be on the register.
To be honest I think he took the sending off quite well…
Everyone hates a winner!!
Re: the pedophile chants. The minority of people who sing this don’t speak for all United fans, and it’s an ignorant thing to say so. I don’t judge all Asian people based on a couple I know; it’s ridiculous to make generalizations like that, people need to open up their tiny brains,
Hehe. Please do. Cuz we’re laughin at the fact that we wiped the floor wid u guys n u needed a dubious penalty to even ave a look in. Enjoy it while it lasts boys. The truth dat is ur pathetic perforamances are bout to hit u in ur face soon.
SO bizarre. SO very, very funny. Sorry, but I’m still laughing ….
pat.calm down.there are always such fans in every club.you just have to ignore them.
@Rd – More supporters therefore more of us than you in your fancy Arabian palace
Next: No laughing at Wenger, stupid decision to send AW off at the end of the match.
We won should have scored more.
Thanks to Foster for keeping it 1 – 0
Arsenal are going to give a lot of trouble to a lot of teams
Won’t be surprised if we see them and us in the Champions League final – you heard it here first!
On a final note – respect to AW and Arsenal – they are the closest to us more than any other team in belief and philosophy – although we have the trophies to talk the talk and walk the walk – and long may it continue
3 points in the bag. Don’t seem overjoyed though.gritty performance in the 2nd half and a slice of luck. Gotta feel for arsenal they deserved a share of the points. Something is not clicking in this man u side since last season.Sir Alex should sort it out fast or there’s no way we’ll make it 4 straight titles.
MARKO sounds like a bitter Arsenal fan who’s team lost thanks to a blinding own goal, oh wait he is!
@Ever_Gunner
Maybe you’ve been to cuckoo land for the last three years?
And if a pathetic performance means we beat you or anyone else, then I and any Utd fan will take that
Who won by the way?
ever gunner.you need mental strength to win league titles.your team does nt have that.crazy own goal.you have self destructed so many times in the last 2 years.we have lost the best player in the world and it wil take us time to get used to life without him.til that time we are just happy to win irrespective of the margin
Yeah, it was funny. Pretty shitty day for him all told. But you know, from once I loathed the guy but now he’s probably my first choice replacement when SAF moves upstairs. His teams play good football and he’s got a good eye for talent. The youth system would be safe with him, our brand of playing would continue, and he’d get a shot at the trophies his budget denies him. Don’t assume I’m looking at any time soon but someday.
If i were you id be worried. Anyone who knows the game will tell you that the better team lost today. Arsenal were denied a clear penalty in the first half and controled the match. United never looked like scoring but being Arsenal, we had to concede silly goals. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season, hopefully you wont be so lucky the next time we meet.
PS. some of your fans are a disgrace to football. That pedophile chant is disgusting and it might land your club in hot water. Another disgrace was Eboues dive, what a clown.
I am quite bitter yes because I felt it was a game that we didn’t deserve to lose but thats football. I’m also baffled how funny people are finding Wenger getting sent off when he looked like he took it well. It wasn’t really ha ha funny but I suppose there’s not a lot of humor in Manchester on account of it being a terrible part of the world. Still good luck for the rest of the season I fancy us beating you when you visit the Emirates later on in the season so until then.
And one final thing all that today proved was that Man United will not win the league this season because you have failed to replace your best player. Chelsea will be delighted with today’s game.
Chelsea will be delighted that we won? errr ok then…
Don’t agree with mr Big Goon at all.. I thought it was a very even game that anyone could have won.. but towards the end it could have been about 4-1 with those clear chances we missed. This despite many of our players having total off days. Maybe next time we will play more like our usual selves…
marko.last year we started badly and afte phatphil took over at chelsa evryone thought this is their year.people were going ga ga over them.we al knw what happened in january.things can change very quickly you see.as for we wnt win the league lets see that in may.
That’s why we r champions didn play well and got 3 points
what with all the goons? we won, you lost, just like usual… id have thought youd been used to it by now!
Paedophile chants louder than ever. Classy, Manchester, classy.
Marko, Manchester’s a terrible part of the world? You’re not from London are you? Now that, my friend, is a crime-ridden shithole. You utter moron.
Reidish, you’re slagging off a minority (a despicable minority) of United fans for calling Wenger a paedophile – so will you now condemn the cretinous Arsenal fans who sit right behind Fergie and give him dog’s abuse?
Wenger totally lost his mind and got mad till he don’t know what to do. The referee send hm off and to my thought he should go to the dug out and back in to the stadium. What the hell is him standing there. I laugh by the way.
Bad performance by United and hat off to AW and Arsenal they really deserved to take something out of the game ,at least a draw in my opinion.
Our Midfield is not performing and i really don’t know why but i trust the gaffer and if he doesn’t want to buy this summer,so be it. We need hargo and even though we usually start slowly i ‘m little bit worry this year. Maybe we’re going into a transitional period ,who knows??? really hope i am wrong.
Nice folks but am still a lot worried. Yes we won today but we definately need someone of world class in our midfield. At best we are workman like and no one to give the killer pass. Think SAF thinks the same with packing midfield tonight. Come on boss spend the cash
* at the Emirates, I mean
People might not want me to say this, but I watched the Inter v Milan game today and couldn’t help but think that our team formation today was crying out for a Sneijder to play in the position Giggsy was playing in today…
But it’s not to be, maybe Anderson will be that man some day…
Marko, it’s a known fact that your team is full of cheating cunts. the champions always win, even if they were outplayed.
Another bogus OT penalty. Nothing here for Man U fans to be happy about. Today was a disgrace for football.
That Wenger moment was hilarious. I just about died before the goal was ruled out and then Wenger went up into the stands. Priceless
Tony Starks – I agree with you mate, especially second half it was even. Marko it comes to summat mate when you would rather the rentboys win the league instead of you.
Off topic – It was a surprise to see the dippers were against TEN men again!
I’m from Dublin actually. I was just saying that Chelsea wouldn’t be too worried after seeing United play today. It’s obvious that with a bit of luck or a different ref that we might of won today. IF you do go on and win the title I’ll have a big old piece of humble pie but I don’t see it happening. Another thing I don’t actually hat your lot in fact I much rather hate Chelsea with a passion but I’ve honestly yet to meet a decent United fan or a humble one yet.
People, come on! Even Wenger himself was smirking when he was standing up there (albeit a bit ruefully). Most of us are laughing at the strangeness of the situation/call, and I’m sure that Wenger’s more upset by the match result, and not by the “sending off”.
what a a great game, wenger sent off and should be finded. diaby and a comical own goal gives us the win
and arsenal players show their true colours with ebobue pathetic dive
what will wenger say about that?
You’s are mad for the diving yourselfs. Ronaldo, Rooney, Nani, Berbatov, Evra, Anderson and I may of seen Carrick dive in the past. I don’t advocate it I’m just saying there’s something wrong in the universe when you get United supporters condoning other teams for diving when they’ve got players who have that in there make up too.
We got lucky to get 3 points out of the game.. I would also be satisfied if we got a draw.. the attacking form of arsenal was quite crazy and they played nice football.. SAF still needs to adjust a bit of our attacking position.. Its still along way to go and i think gunners will be 1 of the teams that will be on the title race this season.. This defeat wont kill their form .. I think they will wake up even more crazier..
Laugh all you want. One team showed up and played football, the other was as impotent and flacid and as an octegenarians prick. Most of the United fans at the pub here were embarrased and actually apologetic. The only person that should be banned is the ref. What an incompetent boob. When will the FA get some refs who have balls?
fair play 2 him
Austingunner, you’ve been whining about ‘Arsenal playing proper football whilst the opposition play shite’ excuse for 5 years and you’ve got fuck all to show for it.
Quit moaning and grow up.
I thought the ref was pathetic, 36 fouls, 9 yellows and the ridiculous red for Wegner with 20 secs left of the 5 extra mins from nowhere.Pendatic, useless, thought he was more important than the players and couldn’t let the game flow. While I love the three points I didn’t really enjoy what happened to AW. Although I can bet you there would have been great laughter everywhere outside O.T. if the same thing had of happened to SAF.
Man u won even though they played well below par, but lets be honest Arsenal made a lot of mistakes, too, and if another team on some kind of form had played them they could have been beaten by much more than 2-1. Man Utd need some new faces cos they seemed to be very edgy and lacked the killer touch, but on today’s evidence Arsenal only look good when teams are backing off and are frightened of them. Say what you like gooners but if the title winning side of last year had played you today they’d have had half a dozen against you.
Austingunner probably hopped on the Arsenal bandwagon right at the end of their glory days and has only ever seen them play “pure” football whilst winning fuck all.
Hate to break it to you mate, but history remembers champions, not how many one-two passes your eternally young and inexperienced team can string together.
@Dave Mack: I agree. A shameful attempt by Mike Dean to prove that he is more powerful than Wenger. This is what the Respect campaign has come to.
carrick needs to be sold!!!!
The better team lost.
The pedo chant seems to be getting softer in recent years. It would appear that the Yanks are starting to price out the kind of vermin that will sing that crap.
Rooney dived, even the BBC are reporting it that way now on MOTD. Don’t worry, most Arsenal fans understand that everybody cheats and we will not go running to UEFA like those hypocrites at Celtic.
United have problems. The best player in the world has moved on to a bigger club and you have not got the money to replace him. Your team has been carried by him the last three years and you are a shadow of a team without him. Rooney is not good enough to step up and take the reigns. Old Man Fergie is starting to talk just like MR Wenger did when we moved to a new stadium and he is doing his best in trying to disguise the lack of funds at your club.
Chelsea will win the title this year, an improving Arsenal will finish runners up and you lot will be fighting with the Arabs for third place. The Scouse bindippers as you call them will drop out the top 4.
It is 18 and out for you guys, not a bad innings I think but the Arabs will not allow you to be the biggest club in the Oasis land anymore. Good bye…
Oasis broke up and so will City in a few years….
@anon…. MOTD said no such thing… you would need to get your ears cleaned out and get up early and watch it again…..
p.s you know anyone who wants to buy Carrick????
@Mopbucket: Harry Winter has also mentioned in his match report for The Telegraph that Sky Sports’ slo-mo showed Rooney’s knees buckling before Almunia touched his legs. Apparently it was the outstretched arm of the Almighty himself. But then, to be fair to the ref, he couldn’t have seen it. And it was shite keeping by Almunia that allowed Rooney to take advantage of it.
Either way, I hope this evens out the bad karma from the Celtic match, heh.
I love how arsenal fans choose to talk about “how much better they are” even though they lost rather than Diaby’s stunner header into his own net…Rooney couldnt have done any better!
do you have to be an elitist to be an Arsenal fan? I guess they just take after their manager…go chew on more wasps! Winners win, losers claim they deserved the win
Having watched the last 9 United-Arsenal games, i can safely say that Arsenal “should have won” the last 4 based on their dominance on the pitch. Instead, they won just one and that was in thr 86th minute. It was a good thing Ade scored that late because Arsenal didn’t have a chance to self destruct. That has been their problem in recent years. I don’t know if it’s inexperience or anything else, but it can’t always be a referee screwing them or United being lucky.
The red faced cunt was lucky yet again thanks to MD.This ref shd be investigated by the refs committe for his failure to give Ashvin a ppenalty.Fletcher brought him down with a double footed lunge and shd have been given a red card.
In the eyes of soccer analysts that was a clear penalty. That’s why when teams play against MU at ot they are playing against twelve men.The twelev men? the man in black backed upy by the linesmen.
anon – Who’s the Premier League’s leading scorer at the minute?
What the fuck is this?
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Manchester-United-fail-in-sensational-bid-for-Stephen-Ireland-article137333.html
I assume it is a piss take. The Mirror have been nothing short of disgraceful toward United the last couple of weeks. Fuck all quotes or sources.
@Dave: Wow! Very eloquent! Looks like you’ve been working on that for the past 4 hours. Now fuck off!
Still early doors…fellas united dont hit form until the new year and we still won! One thing we do know is Sir Alex we trust. Gotta love wenger though i’m warming to him more and more, classic stuff! diving is part and parcel to the game unfortunately, name me a team who hasn’t got a player that dives?
well said costas…..
Mop Bucket – Carrick just seems to be having a bad run of form at the moment. Doesn’t want selling, he’s been a big part of our three title wins.
@Mopbucket: Thanks. I actually wanted to respond to one of your posts about Carrick. I don’t know if selling him is the answer. Are there any good midfielders out there at the moment. But i will say that i was shocked with his performance today! I haven’t seen Carrick this bad. Giles Oaley made a good point in another thread about the midfield feeling like strangers. He might be on to something. Fergie should start playing a regular midfield quartet week in week out. Becks,Keane,Schols and Giggs didn’t ckick together overnight. They had to gel together for a number of games.
Flicked through fascists game tonight. If Eduardo got punished then so should Higuain. Shocking dive.
@Dave
Who linked you here from RAWK?
I’ve often noticed that when United don’t play to their usual fluent standards, then suddenly the other team has been far the better side and deserved better…what a load of bollocks, and the Arsenal fans coming on here crying about spilt milk should grow up and learn to be constructive in their analysis of things. The truth is that United made Arsenal look good at various points in the game today, United’s passing was terrible at times, A lack or understanding between some of the players, and especially awful passing by Giggs and Carrick at times gave Arsenal the initiative in situations they didn’t really deserve to get the ball.
Arsenal themselves were actually pretty poor today. It wasn’t just United. The intensity, openness and high tempo of play partially masked the technical poverty of the displays by both teams in that first half. But the game became so open because United’s midfield could not find a decent pass between them.
If anything it should have been United that took the game by the scruff of the neck. Fletcher’s miss from 10 yards out was scandalous. How many times do we have to see him make the same miss? That must be the tenth time in the last few seasons he has missed exactly the same chance in the same position. If that had have gone in then there would have been no need to talk about Wenger’s bottle because the game would have been over in the first half hour.
After about 30 mins the possession stats that flashed up on Sky’s broadcast (I’m in Denmark at the moment so can’t get to the games) were incredible, 68% – 32% in United’s favour. It didn’t seem like that though did it? It was the nervousness in our play and the resultant inability to make a telling pass that made it seem Arsenal was in the game.
The last twenty minutes or so of the first half saw a steady increase in Arsenals confidence – as you would expect when United’s final pass seemed destined to find an Arsenal player. Arse shavin’s goal was a cracker…if the rules of the game didn’t allow for goalkeepers that is. Foster was absolutely flat footed in his attempt to move across goal. He’d reckoned on being able to knock the ball away and didn’t get his body behind the shot. In the event, the shot was a powerful one and exposed Fosters laziness. If he had moved his feet then he would have had the strength to save the shot,
He made a great save at the beginning of the first half, but he owed us that one, and then it was mostly United again, making extremely hard work of all their possession until Giggs finally found a pass we all know he is so capable off. Rooney was in and was taken down for a penalty.
I think United coped fairly well in the second half. Van Persey flung in a cross that was over hit and rattled the bar, but after United took the lead – which their possession alone deserved – they looked fairly comfortable sitting deep and looking to break
Both sets of players were looking knackered in the last twenty minutes or so and chances for United came and went. United should have had at least another two goals and it would have been harsh on United to concede a last minute equaliser when they had just had two near misses immediately before Gallas wandered offside.
An off day for United, but Arsenal were far from good themselves. We played them into the game with our poor passing and that is something we need to start getting right. Some players are not on the same wave length at the moment. Potentially good passes are looking poor because players are reading the situations differently and when they are reading things together we are then getting poor final passes which are going straight to the opposition.
That will change though and I can only see United getting stronger and stronger. It is a carbon copy of last season. We are disrupted by injuries to key players, but are still not being punished for that by some of our closest rivals. Arsenal has a very vibrant but immature side and for me I do not think that will change before they get some experienced players. They need two or three 29-32 year olds who are in their prime and are big characters on the field of play. Thank God a Drogba or Anelka was not in their side today because they would have demanded balls into them instead of Arsenal’s midfield trying to take us on around the box.
But we have a host of International players who are not getting their chance right at the minute. I want to see Evans fit, Gibson given a chance, I will be in heaven the day the two Da Silva boys nail down a starting position in the same team. Macheda should be playing now and Anderson needs the same consideration that Rooney is now getting. When Rio is fit and along side Vidic again, we will see a whole new confidence throughout the side – the same when VDS gets his finger sorted.
And then we have the boys in this season’s reserve side who seem destined for great things. In some respects we need to take a chance and give all these boys a start this season. A few of them have already tasted first team action and did well. That being the case, it is frustrating that they don’t hold their place until they don’t do so well. It must be heartbreaking to be dropped after having good games. The new Belgian boy, De Laet looked incredibly strong and confident when he got his chance in the first team, but as usual we don’t se him again. Macheda is a great talent and one SAF said we would be looking to give more games…not even on the bench the last few games. Same for Welbeck, Tosic and several others.
A daft sending off of Arse ‘n finger but I think he did well and took the whole incident in his stride…It will be a sad day when Sir Alex and AW call it a day!
A lucky day all in all in my opinion…luck would not of been the key if we had put away the three other guilt edge chances we had. Well done to the Gooners (jex did I just say that) they played us well and have shown other teams that playing high up the pitch and defending as a team can undo this United team.
We’ll still win the lot tho =)
N0bbs
Dont know where all this bullshit about being ‘worried’ is coming from. We played like shit but still managed to win. We had a make shift defence, with our first choice goal keeper out. We always have dodgy first few games and still managed to beat them. Arsenal are meant to be ‘on form’ yet lost to a team thats still trying to find it’s feet. Last year we drew the first few games and also lost to the dippers dont tell me this years start has been worse.
I cant see us playing any worse… which is surely a good thing.
@The Red C
Fully agree with you mate. Regarding your point about the ‘kids’ im sure they will all play FA cup and Carling cup games and maybe against the lesser team.
Off topic – How the fuck can they bang on about how great Saint Stevie is on Match of the day and barely mention the disgraceful sending off of Sean Davis to once again face ten men?
its becoming desparate in CM. its clear now that carrick and anderson are not good enough, fergie thinks that and I really believe he has had this in the works since the barca loss in may. united got sign a CM destroyer forget avreative one they are not out there.
@King Eric: When the chips are down, Stevie Me is their hero and they ALWAYS play with a man advantage. That’s they only way they would have won today.
ref was rubbish, so was carrick. shouldn’t have sent him off, but still a good laugh.
I think that if we work really hard on it, Nani-Carrick-Fletch-Valencia can become a very solid midfield quartet. But they have to play a lot together so that they develop an understading amongst them.
just want to mention, how pissed is piers morgan at the moment. in his next article he will be slagging us off to the max. i remember reading something he wrote last week, about him calling up wenger if his beloved arsenal don’t spank us 8-0.
hahahahahaha.
The 4th official was a disgrace. Arsenal just got a last second goal ruled out, although rightly, Wenger only kicked a bottle down the touchline in frustration, and he was sent off. It was pretty hilarious though, but Wenger was quite right in his reaction, and he did follow the orders, he went as far as he could! Haha. Wenger just got my respect!
united played their worst football this season and still we won. so it proves how bad arsenal are.but fergie should play a fixed line up from now on.
fergie himself knows united were lucky .
now we have to be honest and acceptt that giggs shouldnt be playing regularly yeah due to his brilliance we won but he shouldnt be in the starting line up any more.
4 4 2 formation is the best. berba should be playing regularly then only he will start scoring.
it was a clear penalty and i dont think there is nything to argue about that. helll even almunia accepted that .
but overall a comical match. brought us back to the old games btwn united and arsenal.unlucky wenger. but lol he was funny.
and one more think people who think chelsea are favourites nned to think again yeah they have played brillliant so far than other teams. but they havent played a tricky fixture yet. there true level will be tested when they face a tough opponents just like arsenal level was found out today.
I honestly thought they had scored at the death and was on the verge of crying… but after I saw the linesmen… I had to have a laugh. And wenger’s sending off was priceless (on top of the dugout lol).
let’s admit, that he was smiling too
I didn’t laugh when Arsenal goal was disallowed. I was thinking what the hell was Rooney doing ?
I think Wenger’s red card should and would be overturned.
i think velencia is very orthodox winger. aside from his crosses he is not better than park. for me park is much much better at creating space for himself. one more thing prk can swap position with nani during the game. meanwhile valencia just stood parking at right side.
@ kaihnsn
exactly. there are some parts of his game that we should definitely work on. but give him time. i feel sorry for Parky but SAF clearly wants to play Valencia as much as possible because we really need him to settle as quickly as possible. We all know Parky will always be available and helpful but we need as many players as possible.
And another thing. O’Shea at right back ? No offensive threat whatsoever.
I missed Fabio and Rafael yesterday. I felt sorry for Rooney because he as alone and did his best to earn us a pen and unfortunately dived. He loves the team and he is a devoted human beeing and there is no ther Wayne Rooney.
Shame no one two footed the cunt.
Ever_Gunner – typical short sighted comment from a Gooner. Yeah we weren’t at our best, but you hardly wiped the floor with us you silly twat. Had Berbatov and Nani been a bit more composed then you would have been humiliated.
King Eric – Hello mate. I thought the Sun were the biggest cunts, but it seems that the Mirror is catching up with them, especially with some of their recent comments about us.
A few things –
(a) Granted it was a terrible performace – but games like this, against teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, or Chelsea, are rarely won convincingly. So just as we couldn’t judge our season based on a Burnley loss, neither can we judge it based on our Arsenal game. The league will be won on how we play against the rest of the league, and what we can scrape out of the big games. We were lucky, yes, but luck plays a huge role in such games, especially early in the season. Things don’t look great now but we just have to try and ride this out and see how our season shapes up. As long as we have the points now, lets take it and look forward to the next game.
(b) Having said that, I get really frustrated at the kind of team SAF puts out in these big games. I would understand a packed midfield away from home so we can hit on the counter. But surely at home, if we claim and seek to be champions, we need to show a little more gumption? Yes I want the 3 points more than anything else, but it does little for either the players or the fans confidence if SAF puts out a formation such as this. We basically went out saying we’ll be happy with a draw, and thats not good enough.
(c) Fletch is massive, yes, and the rest of our midfield needs work. Valencia’s just come in, and especially having come from a ’small’ team I don’t expect him to take to life at United like fish to water, so not judgments on him. Carrick honestly needs to get his head sorted, as does Anderson – they obviously have the talent, but their head needs some work. Nani is the only one, ironically, that seems to be showing some fight and quality (at times at least). On Anderson, the more I see him the more I wonder if we have not handled him poorly – for one so young to get him to bed into a different position is tough, especially for a midfielder. His instincts are of bombing forward, his instructions are often to hold back. I think SAF et al have just fiddled around too much with him too soon and shot any confidence that he might have had. If we’re not going to play him too often, SAF please get him to play reserve games and give him a free role. See what he can conjure up.
(d) We know, and everyone else knows, that our midfield is the problem area for the reasons noted above + the prolonged absense of Hargo. Our defense and front line I am okay with as long as fitness doesn’t become a problem. Keeping, I really do not know what to make of Foster really – he shows moments of brilliance and then some amateur errors. Same could be said for Kusczak. I am not going to pass judgment on either of them too soon though, until they get decent runs in the team.
(e) Finally, SAF cannot be serious that we are definitely not going to sign anyone else this season!!! That I hope is pure old SAF bluffing. Not because I absolutely WANT a new signing. As many have said the market has been inflated etc etc and we don’t pay over the odds for players blah blah. That I think is pure tosh to some extent – you work with the market you get, or perish. So we are definitely not that principled. Regardless of that, this team could certainly do with the injection of a high profile, world class player, especially in midfield, if possible. With the kind of money we got for Ronaldo, SAF and everyone else is making a huge mistake if they’re not still looking for good ways of using up that money on top quality players. If the opportunity arises, and we can get someone for a decent sum, why not get him? If it is indeed true that we are not even CONSIDERING and keeping and eye out for potential signings, then that too me is a very bad sign indeed.
Not the best performance but we could have made it more at the end if Nani had converted his chance.
I dont think Arsenal were much better than us at all.I think it was quite an even game.
Costas @ 03:04 change carrick for gibson in that mid-field 4 and give them a good run… gibson is highly taught of by 2 of the games great managers… he is showing way more promise than carrick ever did….
He’s got some balls to do that, fair play to him.
You`ve gotta love arsenal fans, yeh they played ok and utd didnt have their best game, but for the pathetic gooners to start blaming the ref or being kicked off the park is laughable.
I remember a few years back in th f.a. cup final when arsenal were playing for penalties from the kick off,and utd battered them for 120 minutes but the goons got their wish and they won on pens. You got beat, get over it.
We got 3pts, that’s all that matters, plus the great to & fro action in the 2nd half. Carlton Palmer, Trevor Sinclair & Joe Morrison on FootballChnl were a sight after the game! They could not get a decent comment in!
I felt sorry for Arsene. Deserved to be shown “respect” by the ref’s, but of course the campaign goes one way not two.
As for the match, we won, unconvincingly, but we won. /
We played poor in midfield, with Giggs and Carrick playing awful in the first half, but Giggs got better later on. I’m starting to read into the Carrick situation; it’s confidence (probably from Rome) and when Fergie said that “You’d have to ask Carrick,” as to why Fergie dropped him, it probably summed it up. The players confidence has dropped and only Carrick knows why. He isn’t being forced out, we picked him for our first big game of the season. That says it all. His form will return. In the meantime, we have Fletch who was stunning today (except he gave away a pen… and may have got a red for it.)
Berbatov is so frustrating. I can’t believe he missed his chance; his composure in front of goal is so poor considering his talent. He’s still got the nosebleed from having to shoot. It’s this reason why we lose to likes of the mighty Burnley, and why we needed Arsenal to self-destruct for us to win. Fletch, Nani, Berba and even Rooney all had chances to score but wasted them. Valencia looks far from United class.I’ve seen Ronaldo and Rooney play that bad so I’ll reserve judgement for 2 seasons or so!!
I hope, that it’s all just early-season form otherwise I’d throw Gibson in our midfield knowing at least he can shoot.
City and spurs to get the same treatment and us to win ugly again, I think. Spurs will be the ones that might do us, not city. Defoe, like Rooney, is on fire at the moment.
Must be mad to do something like this, but we won the 3pts and its all that matters
Fairplay to him doing that tough! wouldnt see rafa the waitor getting up on the dugout
If fat rafa had got up there. the dug out would have collapsed!
the dismissal was a disgrace but we learn one fact tough..
even arsene wenger is a UNITED fans..hahahaha
Arsenal may have lost the game – but I am more confident of the season after seeing the game.
Ferguson will be concerned, United are weak. You won’t have penalty decisions every week.
Without Cesc, Nasri, Wallcott, Rosicky and an injured Arshvarin we dominated United. with only Rio and Van der Sar out….
Laugh away Manc’s but he who laughs last and all that….
I doubt United will make the top four if they play at that level all season.
Wenger forgot to tell his players that it was their own goal post and not MU……….he he he
@ManU.
please change that name.i m assuming that you are a United supporter.that is as good as the name used by the nastard ignorant people writing articles in the tabloids
Dear Marko,
You’re either an idiot or a niincompoop!
Or both!
Nobody laughs at themselves!
Every fan are diehards!
But the sending off of Arse Wengger of Arse anal is quite a scene
And it took the pressure off from the disallowed goal by van Pussy for offside
