Anders Lindegaard has signed a new four year extension at Manchester United which will see him at the club until 2015/2016.
“I’m very pleased to have signed a new contract,” he said. “I’m glad and proud that the manager has shown the confidence he has in me by giving me a new deal. There is nowhere in the world I would rather be than right here. The competition for places is tough, as it should be in a club like this. It only makes us better as individuals and, more importantly, stronger as a team. It’s what I have dreamt of all my life and nothing makes me more proud than wearing the Manchester United badge.”

Man Utd News 24/7

Yes! more comp. = stronger mentality
Lindegaardian is our Sentinel, vigilant protector of the Red realm.
Well done son! You have a big role to play in our assault on trophies this season, and for the foreseeable future. Enjoy!
Whew! What a relief (I thought he was only here to pick his nose)
The more he speaks, the more I love him! Quite decent for a back up keeper.
Excellent news, love the guy……But I do prefer De Gea to be our number 1 ……..Lindy Baby is a great back up to have but the Wolf Man is and should be our number 1
THE BEST BACKUP KEEPER IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!!!
I love this lad, being picked should be based on merit not on name or cost,so as far as i’m concerned let the best man win
great news, smashin keeper in my eyes, i agree with costas the beardy wolf is my number 1 choice but should he get injured im just as confident with this big lad in goal
Great news. Got to disagree with the majority I feel he is more than strong enough to be our number and personnally will put it out there that he will start more games than DDG both brilliant GKs so let the competiton begin…
If the price is right, just sell nani already and get lucas moura. There’s a reason why SAF wanted hazard when we already have 3 wingers, 2 being able to play on either side.
Kung Foo Panda
Costas has not posted here yet mate!
Saf properly trust anders, and the more he speaks makes me love him more.i can’t remember us ever having 2 excellent goalkeepers as this.
@wayne
With you on that, though i love de gea and think he should be number one,buh may the best of them man the post for us come next season,no sentiment.for what its worth,i absolutely trust both of them
Im with cantonas collar even though DDG beat even my predictions last year I thought Lindegaard did the same. I had Lindegaard as better and havent changed my mind. Germanics are more steady goal keepers over an expanded period and latins even though often show moments of brilliance are more hot and cold. Unfortunately for a top club we cant afford the cold or you end up 2nd.
@cedars
Lol ofcourse he hasn’t but not @kunfoo’s fault your users starts from “C”…hahaha
In regards Moura and Nani.
Do a straight swap between Nani and Kaka. Real Madrid get their conditioned and super fit latin superstar and we get a player who knows how to control the ball. More importantly we get some veteran help once Scholes and Giggs retire as we would be seriously lacking experience once theyve gone in the forward possitions. He will also be an amazing mentor for Moura and hence both possitions are fixed. A link up man between foward and midfield in Kaka, an extra winger but leaving the core of Valencia and Young intact. Striking possitions filled up even if Berbatov goes.
Perfect fit.
P.S. Just an opinion mind. If anyone thinks Kaka is shit then they can go ………….. rhymes with suck dem shelves
This guy almost makes we wish DDG fumbles so he gets a chance between the sticks
goat hi mate bit of a odd thing to say when Spain have quality and depth
Stability at the GK position can never be understated. Great move.
SB
A worthy number 2. De gea just shades it for me, though.
jay4manutd
Should change my moniker to CostasDevil then! ha ha ha
Again on the keeper issue, De Gea aka Wolf Man is hands down the better talent, having said that having someone as good as Lindy Baby as back up is a huge boost, plus he seems to have a great personality as well
wayne
what specifically was an odd thing to say. If it was about latin goal keepers in general and you are saying that spain has quality in depth then I would disagree. Ill tell you my reasoning if you confirm what you meant my friend. If your interested that is.
Not a bad idea goat. Only problem I see with that is SAF. The man is an enigma. But we know some about him and doesn’t look like the kind of transfer he’d go for.
I like the idea of kaka at United. I think its a perfect fit. Even without Lucas he’d be a perfect foil for master Carrick and wee ton will learn a lot. Coor, picture him with scholes. Sounds legit to me. With nani and Valencia either side and Danny/roo with kagawa in front of him. In paper that looks good.
Flip side is his fitness. Not so sure if mou didn’t fancy him or just wasn’t fit
Forza Lindy
goat in Casillas and Valdes Spain arguably have the top 2 goalies in the world without consistency wouldn’t be playing for Real and Barca so don’t get your logic mate.
Nice. Picking my nose as we speak.
So we’re basing GK talent on their origins? What a daft argument
@Cedars
I’ve told you before. Change your name to GoudaDevil.
Good lad. Let’s make it #20!
United!
Ill give you Casillas, if it wasnt for hime I dont think Real would be up there and for such a long time. Thats a banker. Valdes Im not so sure of, Barca usually get by by keeping the ball up the other end of the pitch and when hes called upon doesnt need to make many straight in front of goal stops. I think the fact hes a Barcelona player may cloud peoples judgement. DeGEa is very good but its been one season, started terribly but looked better as we went on apart from some very important matches where he didnt exactly deliver the goods. Reina is a donkey, yes he has body size and shot blocking abilities but so does Howard.
I feel that the premier league is more varied with the type of play in front of the goal keeper because it is home to many a player from many a land and culture who all train differently and have a different footballing ethos.
If you look at the likes of Kahn, Schmeichel, Van der Sar they are far more stable (ok Kahn played on too long). Just an opinion I guess.
Costas
Seeing as some folk mistake us, I think we should unite and post as one!
wayne
And Im sorry to say in my opinion, and it pains me to say. The best goal keeper in the world at the moment is easily Joe Hart.
From the previous thread:
I think anybody who’s getting their hopes up on transfers is going to be disappointed.
If I’m reading it right, the statement says 40 mil net spend for the entire window. (If it’s 40 mil from now onwards, then please tell me so, and don’t bother reading the rest of this post!) We’ve approx. 25-30 mil left taking into account likely fund inflow from player sales and what we’ve spent till date. So where does that leave us?
1. Left back – 10ish spent on a young LB. If it’s Baines, Everton’s gonna have to stop playing silly buggers. I’m bullish on this one, Fergie’s almost as good as admitted we’re gonna buy a player for this position.
2. Fantasy player, say Moura – fuggedaboudit! Unless those ridiculous numbers of 30 mil are exactly that, i.e., ridiculous. More I think about it Moura seems to be a negotiation message for Nani.
3. Established midfielder, e,g., Modric, Moutinho, Sahin – ditto, particularly if the LB is coming in, w are just gonna be left with 15-20 mil.
4. RVP – not gonna happen, unless it runs to deadline day, and Monsieur has to choose between a distress sale and next year’s zilch
My bet would be on a young left back, and another young rabbit pulled straight out of Fergie’s arse, a la Chicharito.
De Gea is the future…..but I think Lindegaard deserves a shot at the No.1 aswell.
I don’t want us to be back to the carroll / Howard scenario again but this time we have two top keepers.
jeet i’m confused by that aricle Utd already spent 20mill and we know Utd made a 27mill bid for Moura and 12-15mill for RVP so it just doesn’t add up
@Cedars
Lol, I bet a lot of folks here will enjoy that. Like King Kong teaming up with Godzilla.
@wayne: Me too, mate…it doesn’t add up, but you know me and how we differ on United’s true spending power…so I choose to believe the downside here…
Besides, I have always felt those 27 mil for Moura/12-15 mil for RVP were press generated bullshit. Nobody from OT actually confirmed those numbers, all that was confirmed was the genuine interest from our side (and wenger denied it, but I wouldn’t set too much store on what that cunt says). I do believe that the 40 mil number is more accurate, coming as it does from someone who’s actually part of the club, and pretty high up at that.
Lindegaard should be starting ahead of DDG because Oliver Kahn was a good keeper. You heard it here first!
No, Fred, I heard it from somewhere else first…
Costas
I bet we would rape some serious shit!
Fred
Ha ha, you nutter
Great news. He’s my fave goalie since his arrival. Always confident and commanding in his area. No offense but to me his should be our # 1 but again it’s awesome we have 2 decents keepers at moment.
jeet lol yes mate i know you have doubts about Utd’s spending power, might be wrong thought the 26.5mill bid for Moura had been confirmed by more than one source and Sir Alex confirmed the RVP bid and although Everton are denying any bid for Baines Moyes has been spotted scounting full backs
Last season Utd spent what about 52mill and had bids in for Nasri and WS,so just based on this yr and last the kitty seems bigger than 40mill to me
Jeet – No, I mean we heard it first here on RoM.
SAF: Wee David lad, I’m gonnae drop ye to the bench from now on. You’ll be our number 2 behind Anders.
DDG: Sure boss… but if I may ask, why did you take this decision?
SAF: It”s very simple pal – Oliver Kahn.
DDG:
I would love it if United could sign Nuri Sahin.
23 years old and should be going for £15m tops. Has a partnership with Shinji Kagawa and plays a Scholes role – where he is a deep lying playmaker that doesn’t have much speed but the movement make up for it. He’d be ideal for United and Arsenal alongside Song or Carrick he would thrive.
We have the opportunity to cut our losses on Ando, replace the reliance on Giggs who is away on Olympic duty ( and needs a rest) and not be heavily dependent on a 18 year old Nick Powell. With Fletcher out, we should definitely move for this kid. Tunnicliffe will defo play his part as will Clevs. Scholes is a guy we’ll never replace but Sahin is in the same kind of mould where they have the defining pass from deep that can find a player and the simplicity of moving the ball.
Just imagine having to pick from;
Carrick,Scholes,Giggs, Anderson,Sahin,Clevs,Tunnicliffe,Powell.
We’d definitely have a good season, even injuries would have us safely covered with quality lurking about in Petrucci,Lingard.
The only stumbling block with Nuri Sahin is that a month ago he said he doesn’t want to leave and isn’t happy he was used as bait for the Luka Modric transfer. He may be to eager to succeed at Madrid and could reject a move….also I doubt Fergie would want a guy that is reluctant to move.
Anyway it seems Arsenal are favourites to sign him on loan but I reckon we should have our names in the hat in order to avoid a Sneijder,Van Der Vaart scenario in the future where we regret missing out on a bargain.
SAF should either re-unite Kagawa with Sahin or bring over De Gea’s best friend Munain
I still want Baines !
I prefer Latin GK’s………..Dino Zoff for fucks sake …..and yes I am having a laugh, although Zoff is a legend
Again I will say this, what an utter and complete daft argument……..Judging players on their origins
imo, I think this summers signing will dictate the performance of next season. For example…
Kagawa signed = Premier League retained.
Left Back signing = PL + 1 Domestic Cup
Midfielder signing = PL + Champions Lge ( Yes I believe we can win it with 1 more signing !)
Striker = Treble ! maybe Quadruple
Wayne, delighted to be proved wrong…but where have you seen anybody from United, let alone Fergie, confirm those NUMBERS? Fergie confirmed United’s INTEREST in RVP, not even a bid. MOura bid has been confirmed, but not the NUMBER.
Sorry for the CAPS, don’t know how to underline/bold/italicize in html. lol
@Fred: yeah, I meant to say that we all heard it squeak very loudly as it was being pulled out from a very dark, fetid place…
Cedars – you’re the daft one, pal. Don’t you agree that Macheda should be picked ahead of Rooney on the basis that Rossi, Baggio and Del Piero are better than Bridges, Heskey and Crouch?
I’m a Lindegaard fan and think He is the future.
jeet
Fergie confirms Man Utd RVP bid
Last Updated: July 20 2012, 20:03 BSTSir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Manchester United have made a bid for Arsenal captain Robin van Persie.
going hunting for the Moura bid
According to Jimmy `The quack` Ducker, United have £40mill left to spend in this window. That’s net, folks!
Notin but net motherfucker!
Fred
Who the fuck is Bridges? ha ha ha
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/07/23/manchester-united-manager-alex-ferguson-confirms-lucas-moura-interest_n_1694127.html
Spanish gk’s tend to flap. Take away iker C and they’re not so invincible. The thought of reina flapping at balloons tickles .
50shadesofWillie, I’m a daft fuck as most on here know, so do me a favour and please put it in black and white for me – is that 40 mil net POST kagawa/powell/ji? If so, all else makes sense…
If someone says, 40 mil net means Moura in-Nani out, well that’s hardly progress if you ask me…
@Wayne: Ohh, don’t bother mate! I’m embarrassed you’re actually spending your time to correct my ignorance!! If Berba’s going for 5, then RVP should be no more than 10, IMO. Still, you know, no one from United confirmed the numbers, and it could be a smokescreen. I love Fergie, but I accept that being economical with the truth is part of any top job, and long may Fergie’s ruses last, so not part of the brigade that goes, “Ohh, Fergie lied to us, how dare he?!!” Still, like anybody else, would love it, if we bought in some top talent.
German players tend to be very efficient, I’ve noticed.
jeet bottom of this article San Paulo confirms a 29mill bid
http://o.canada.com/2012/07/23/manchester-united-sir-alex-ferguson-wants-lucas-moura/
Jeet – here’s where that £40m figure comes from http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/163432.html
Fred
Yup. The “good” ones anyway.
Wise guy
jeet Nani out? last i read Utd were looking to get a new deal done
Wayne, I’m obstinate as a mule (as I believe you are as well) so the Sao Paulo pimp dishing around fancy numbers, unfortunately means jackshit to me…don’t get mad….just that I have never believed Fergie would splurge 25+ on an unproven kid in a position we are abundantly stocked in…like I said, my bet would still be on a left back and a young player out of left field
@Fred: yeah, saw that one…it reads, like I said, 40 mil net for the entire season, so that doesn’t tie up with 30 mil for Moura and 12-15 for RVP…thing is why would that Boiling Brook chap underquote that figure to investors? Its in the clubs best interests to be accurate with such stuff…you can be 50 basis points conservative predicting revenue growth (and that too, if your internal forecasts are very rosy), but 50% off on how much money you are going to invest in the business is shooting yourself in the foot.
@Wayne: I don’t believe, and would hate to consider the Nani out thing. Stupid rumor, I hope and believe…like I said, the Moura thing IMO was a back up to Nani negotiations failing, godforbid
Jeet – You and me both! My head hurts with all these crazy figures. I follow Ducker on Twitter mate. That’s where my info came from.
Wenger denies getting bids for Van Persie,Daily Mail 27th,July.seems somebody is in error.
ROLL ON 20!!! This is great news. 2 world class keepers fill our box, can’t get any better than this.
Not sure about this deal. if de gea keeps up his good form, lindegaard will be picking his nose more than he imagines. At least a four year deal will keep him sweet. Very Good keeper, still not entirely convinced in the biggest of games.
So does that mean any monies recieved from transfers out will be deducted from the sum already spent therefore leaving a greater sum available for our next purchase.
yes parry the sum of the sum will always equal the sum
Well at least someone’s signed a contract. Best. Backup. Keeper. Ever.
wayne.
Enlightening that is,kinda get confused with Net spend,
Wayne I’m a self employed spark and when I price a job I have my materials cost which on completion I deduct from the price,Simple,I don’t go back to my three previous jobs then work out Net spend.
