I see quite a few AON Kits on the terraces, now we did not see this in Canada or America or Mexico.
Maybe those people get the idea.
I also some people with Green and Gold Scarfes with Aon kits with the Nike tick as a sign of orginality.
Wayne looks seriously under fit, but showed one or three great touches.
Chris Smalling was great.
The Irish lads have played ok, but hardly putting United under pressure at the rear.
I suspect its not the work out and stress the Manager would have wanted prior to the Charity shield game on Sunday and our opener against Newcastle.
chicharito is on!!
Hernandez * effing brilliant
Chico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1min 36 secs lol
goal by Chicharito….you are a god!!!
Chicarito
he has a left foot
Tony V with the left foot!! he still does not like to smile though:)
haha Valencia with his left foot, now i’ve seen everything
what the PARK!!! lovely finish…
Why the hell does that commentator (RTE) keep saying “we” when talking about Airtricity XI? It’s not the Irish national team… Look at the stadium you moron, it might aswell have been painted red for how red it currently is. Then he said something like “we’ll have to wait to play Argentina”… umm.. again, its NOT the Irish national team… it doesn’t resemble it in any way… if the Irish national team played like this I’d be SHOCKED, they don’t, their best players are in premier league. When its the Irish national team it would make sense for the commentator on Irish state TV to keep saying “we” but in this case it’s a makeshift club team that happens to be from the Irish league playing United…. NOT the Irish team…
But enough of a rant, Airtricity just scored
Well, they get the consolation but always hate to see a goal scored against you. The more and more I see this game, the more and more it fees like there is more of the Old Nani playing for No. 17 than the one we saw in early 2010. And I am irritated by that. Anybody else feel the same?
Javier is just awesome. And so is the Pen goal scorer. Naniiiiiiiiii lol
@Balaji Sivaraman — Nani didn’t come on that long ago I think???? I wouldn’t worry about these games too much when you want to assess a player. On top of that, Nani isn’t long back from injury so I’d say he’ll take a while to reach that level again. Has to be expected.
man city losing again chelsea losing again we r gonna wlk this prem
@Dela, I guess you’re right and I am judging too early. I was talking more about the intent anyway. Still, something I’d keep an eye out for. BTW, everyone else just looks spot on. I think our passing looks really sharp even though it is a friendly. And the amount of young blood coming through is really awesome. For the first time in quite a while, it looks like we have a striking force that is nearly complete all around. The defense looks solid and we won’t face that many freakish injuries as we did last year (Still, we had the best D). I don’t think any addition, if any at all, is required, but a young midfielder as cover for Scholesy and Giggsy would’nt hurt at all.
All in all, I am really impressed by this pre-season and cannot wait for this Sunday to kick Chelski’s ass, and show that we are winning what is rightly ours (what should’ve stayed ours, some might say
) back this season.
I thoroughly enjoyed that. The kit, the four main forwards… It has a ’99 ring to it. Bring. On. Sunday.
Decent run out for the lads, but that top is shocking, prefer the black one tbh.
is it inappropriate for a grown man to have ‘chicharito’ on a united shirt?
@United 4 Life, He can have Mary Poppings on the back of it for all I care as long as he keeps playing well
Na, go for it.
LOL… Mary Poppings
Mary Poppins I meant of course
Jeez, everyones just waiting to get on Nani’s back and the season hasn’t even started!
@ United 4 life – hell no! If i get a new shirt, C H I C H A R I T O will be on the back!
Chicharito scored again with 1st touch. Valencia was very impressive, nani was ok.
Owen scored a wonder goal, Bebartov looked good and Rooney just need some
match fitness but he looked hungry. Park was great. Bring on chelski !
My 2 cents after the game:
1. Opposition was not adequate, they probably never played together. There was no resistance at all.
2. Johny was brilliant as the left full-back. I guess that he may be a better understudy for Evra. Possibly we can try him as the right back as we don’t have such a strong first choice defender there.
3. Berba with his smart passing was very good in the attacking phase. Whoever (Wazza, Chicha, Owen, Kiko) plays next to him should utilize his superb creative skills.
4. Unfortunately, Nani now looks poorly. Primarily it is all coming from his under-par decision making. We need him to hit his “early 2010″ form, otherwise I hardly can see him as our valuable player.
5. Valencia and Fletch look amazing, hopefully they will keep their form form for the whole season.
Josh2bking – Evans plays left back for northern ireland and hes always excellent. Id say he would be a great backup for Evra except that we will probably need him at CB for most of the season.
I am a being proponent of Nani – when last season the calls were loudest for his head and the rumours of him being flogged in January I had faith he still has something to do for us. I saw it in the Wolfsburg game that something had changed but, even that game people gave him flak because Obertan had a moment of brilliance (even though Nani’s cross had setup the opener).
That said – the whole, he is just back from injury thing doesn’t quite sit with me. Valencia has been out since he hurt himself against Spurs in April? He looked like he had been playing the whole summer.
That’s the difference between Valencia and Nani – consistency. With Valencia you know what you are going to get 98% of the games. He’ll give you very good solid performances. Nani on the other hand – can vary from brilliant (world class, no one better, Ronaldo who?) to omg wtf Nani.
Yesterday he actually seemed quite good. What a shot that went off the bar, the confidence to take that penalty (when am sure Berbatov wanted it) – that is what he is about. He’ll continue to have old Nani moments but, we’ll get those if we want the World Class. What we want though for him is to continue to play the game with good solid basics like Valencia but, then work in the Nani moments as needed. Not try Nani moments with every touch.
I think we’ll have probably the 2 best wingers not only in the league but, in Europe this season. Should be interesting.
I was under the impression that you could no longer have a NICK NAME in your back. That it had to be your name, or last name…
I guess not (?)
