Bit sad for Berba missing out but can see the point in it given our performance last time and the impact Berba can have coming off the bench. Plus, both of Chelsea’s CB’s are susceptible to pace which Rooney and Hernandez especially has in plenty. Also, to Chelsea, Hernandez is still unknown whereas Berba’s a known quantity, so I can fully understand the reasoning behind it.

The main problem for us will be the referee because he will be keen to show that referees don’t favor us which is a big problem after the Rooney incident.

Come on United! A win at the fucking bridge is long overdue and what better time to do it than on our way to the 19th.

Did anybody here watch the Wigan game? We don’t get to blame the ref this week. We just don’t get to. Besides which the ref was no more bent than you’d expect a ref to be towards the home team. The penalty was fair, the cards were harsh, and maybe if they’d gone the other way we’d have won. But they didn’t and we lost.

Talking about the referee ignores the fact that Chelsea put exactly the sort of high-energy, physical, aggressive and determined game that I, and probably a fair few others, thought they couldn’t play any more. We played well, they played better. We should have taken our chances better and Evra should have been tighter on the man at the far post.

Hate to see us lose, but there was no shame there. Chelsea looked like defending champions with a point to prove, and we looked dangerous, but over-matched. Sometimes, even when you are Manchester United, you play well and still get beat.

The moment where we were 3 on 2 and Rooney played the more difficult ball out right to Fletcher instead of feeding in Hernandez who was free and I have no doubt would have put it a way, I think could have been massive.

There were some great performances out there and we really didn’t deserve to lose, I’m sick as a dog.

We should have had more than one goal in the first half, but again despite excellent performance and again final ball lets us down.

Second half was pretty awful. For their equalizer Nani was ball watching when he could and should have marked that dirty cunt Luiz.

At 1:1 Rooney from that position should have squared it to Fletcher. It would have probably kicked the shit out of them.

The penalty was a blatant dive. But we should have been more alert especially as the idiot Atkinson could not wait to give a decision against us.

This is turning to be worse than last season when at least we had some excuses. How many times this season we failed to finish matches from a winning position. The league should have been won by Christmas, but while the last title was handed to Chelsea it looks like we want to hand this one to Arsenal! Wolves loss is proving even more costly and next match at dippers now is a must win!!!

And, BTW, I am sure that those decisions are not penalties. You can clearly see Smalling pulling away, those kinds of decisions are never given unless there is DEFINITIVE contact which in this case clearly wasn’t.

Of course, I would’ve been happy had that sort of decision gone for us. But since it has gone against us, there is nothing to say except that it was a blatantly wrong decision.

Costas – 8th?! Even more than i thought. It’s not a trait you normally see in a United side, especially one that is top of the league. In 08-09 it was almost unheard of, one of our greatest strengths was that when we went ahead the other team knew they had mission impossible on their hands. We can blame the ref for his part (and i do) but we stopped playing after we scored and even at the end of the first half the game had a totally different dynamic where Chelsea were dominating possesion and we were getting beaten to everything in the middle of the park. They won almost every 50/50 challenge it wasn’t acceptable, our hunger evaporated.

May be bridge affected them more that happens it OT too. I am just tired seeing supporters jump on officials every time their team lose. Every team’s supporters have issues with them. We too have been bitched with injuries and a certain beginning period of the premiership where one of our players made it hard for the rest of his team mates by declaring that he wanted out.

We could never understand what United were up to those first five draws but when the shit hit the fan we knew what was wrong – if that doesn’t happen and Rooney turns up then we are not fucking up before Christmas the way we did.

As for luck and evening itself out – We’ve had enough of it go against us – but most of the time we have made it ourselves – and no matter what one incident with Rooney doesn’t equal anything that happened today. United didn’t crash last minute goals and come back from goals down thanks to referees and officials – United did that all by themselves – so to say any luck has to be evened out – don’t buy it.

In either case we still have carried on – no matter what we have carried on – Wolves beat us fair and square that hurts but fair enough – Chelsea in the past have beat us and fair enough – fuck me Liverpool have beaten us – fair enough

When we don’t turn up and get beat fair enough. But when we turn up and officials fuck it up – not fair – and to balance this piece out the first goal should never happened – but again on close inspection the bastard that should have been sent off later hits the ball executes it brilliantly – which no one would have stopped.

Nani was fantastic in the first half an hour, but got no protection from Ivanovic. Our forwards were taken out off the ball time after time. I thought we played well in the second half as well, but we were playing against 11 men times one referee. Its like when we used to play rugby as kids at someones house and the kid whos house it was made up the rules. Its like Andy Townsend was reffing. We didnt have a hope in hell.

But in the end, even with shit refeering like this, we get ourselves to blame. Our midfield is just bad, and that’s the story whole season – I’m pretty sure L’arse will bottle it after Barca dominate them – they are nowhere near Inter from last season to survive whole 90+ minutes of Barca assault – and their premiership form will suffer.
Just look at our midfield problem this way – how many teams & managers would want Xavi, Inieasta, Modric, Fabregas, Sneijder, Ronaldo etc in their teams, and how many would want Carrick, Fletcher and Anderson. Don’t get me wrong – I always support our team and I bloody love United, but our midfield is nowhere near where it should be. For instance, I always supported Carrick and O’Shea (and I like ‘em) even when all people around me were taking the piss (they are pretty much our usual scapegoats, with odd Gibson added), but I do think we need better players. Fletcher used to be real lion in midfield, and I’m afraid he already reached his top in last two seasons. We need renovated midfield in the summer so that our strikers can profit – I’m just sad when I see Berbatov or Chicharito on bench because we need to pack our midfield for most games, even against lesser teams. But we are going to win our number 19, even with this midfield, in spite of all ABU cunts and media frenzy – and how sweet it will be.

United need to take some chances and go the extra mile in these big games; we seem to have developed a tendency to pace ourselves in matches, where we are standing off the opposition, saving ourselves for the next game; you’ve got to play for the full ninety; fortune favours the brave!

Chelsea 2 points lost – at home against them Drogba doesn’t score millions of miles offside goal and it’s a draw – Chelsea would have lost the premiership more than the point they won it

the luiz goal was due to Evra getting drawn towards the ball. Thats what you get sometimes with him, sometimes. I dont care. Every team concedes. It was a freak goal and a non-issue. If youre going to allow any team to do what they want, take you out off the ball, drag you etc and not even award a free kick; then youre going to struggle. At that stage, Ivanovic shouldve been off, and we shouldve had the ball. Even when chelsea attacked, Luiz wouldnt have been there.

Its something everyone has noticed before and Im sure hes working on, but nobodys perfect. With Evra you have probably the best left back in the world who gets drawn out of position on a cross from the left, sometimes. Id take that any day. 9 times out of ten, Luiz wouldve missed that.

The point is that the whole course of the game changed because of bad decisions. They had more possession and chances than they should have and we had less of both than we should have. Thats why we lost. If we were a perfect side with the best eleven players ever than we wouldve won anyway. But to say that we lost because we were bad – thats way off the mark.

That being said, United created nothing in the second half. Fletcher and Carrick are out of their depth in the EPL. Rooney’s goal was brilliant, but he shouldn’t have been there to start with. I’m not really surprised at the referee’s decisions in light of what we got away with against Wigan. We shouldn’t have to rely on the whistle to win games like those cunts over in the Bridge.

Costas bang on there m8 time and time again we score first, and has you rightly say there seems to be a tendencey to sit on it espically in the big games. our midfield drops off alot deeper instead of pressing further up the pitch, hence then we invite the pressure closer to our goal area. if we play with the intensity like we did in first half we’d win that game. evenwith all atkinsons mishaps.
