I’m sorry but neville shouldn’t be a starter at united anymore, he is a legend but time has caught up with him, he continuously gets beaten for pace and makes rash challenges.

Not too bad. We could have had 2 or 3 and we’re not firing on all cylinders. Nev didn’t look slow chasing after Arteta there. Berbatov’s having a good game and there are some cracking long balls coming into him (and Fletch!)
Gary Neville was not at fault for the goal, in fact he made up good ground to put Arteta off. Having our 2 oldest guys there trying to stop a quick counter was always going to be a losing scenario. O’Shea or Fletcher should have been holding back instead both of them trying to attack the corner.
Anyway, we are lucky to be level. But it goes back to the same question as last year, why are we always trying 4-5-1 against decent opposition? Everton has had a very bad start to the campaign, and wouldn’t it make more sense to try attack them instead of inviting them on us? Apart from the chance, what have O’Shea contributed? He is practically just a dummy walking around the park to fill up space so that it looks more tight in the central area

I am shocked. Our defense has looked suspect this season and that for me is a big concern. I am mortified and disgusted. Some might blame Wayne Rooney but he is no defender and our defense was dreadful in the final 2 minutes. In fairness to Everton they gave a good account of themselves all game and just came up empty. They had more shots then us I believe and was in our end of the half for the majority of both halves. I know it is not a bad result to get a draw at Everton but this kind of draw is a gut wrenching. The more I think about it the more upset I become.

First half performance was bad. They should have scored atleast 2, we got lucky.
Second half, we were much better. Attacked well and created LOADS of chances, that we kept on wasting. >__< I really dont know what to say. On one hand Berba and Nani were excellent, but THEIR FINISHING MUST FUCKIN IMPROVE. Imagine if they scored their chances, we could have won.

I don’t see any overreacting about this. Fans have every right to be pissed off about this. It’s fair to say that Nani and Berba shouldn’t have been wasteful, but then again, how many goals did we need today?
And truth be told, until Fletch started raising his game after the 30th minute, we didn’t look like winning. So we started the game badly and finished it in ever worse fashion.

Ironically, the latest man united news is that Jonny Evans feels trusted at OT. Not on this fucking performance you don’t! I want Rio back, because honestly Jonny Evans is gaining a whole lot of trust from me.
Ash makes a good point about the substitutions. Park only came in because Evra took a knock. Gibson was about to come on and he sent him back. We needed a pair of fresh legs there. Plus, if you are going to rely in Gibson this week, at 3-1 you had a perfect opportunity to bring him on.
Everton were there for the taking. We could have run it up to 5-1 or so. Neville is not Scholes or Giggs. He was NEVER a top player, just a solid one but now, with his body wrecked with injuries, what does he bring to the table? Rafael can defend as well as him after going on a 12 hour pisser and offers so much more. Neville and O’Shea were directly culpable for all three goals so this particular decision from Fergie has cost us.
I’m only going to say that I look forward to seeing Rio Ferdinand come back sooner than later.

I think questioning SAF is spot on. But at the same time, regardless of what players you have on the pitch, in whatever formation, you cannot give up 2 goals like that, against a team that don’t even look like they really want it!
Thats 4 points dropped in 2 games and whilst both games are an improvement on last season neither Fulham or Everton will be competing for a top 4 place, so this does not not give me much confidence when we play the “bigger” teams

I thought Vida was slightly better than the other three. Evans isnt much of a help, he isnt quick enough, doesnt keep up with the defender and his passing is just bad. G.Neville is VERY slow, therefore the only way he can keep up with them is by fouling. Evra played like shit. I mean,their first goal, what was he thinking?

This is just shameful. What the fuck is wrong with this team? Do the players not give a flying shit about our title aspirations? After Fulham I honestly thought that would be the last time we throw a game away like this, but we didn’t learn from our mistake. Why the fuck did we rest on our laurels? Disgusting mentality. The Utd of old would have been throwing bodies at every Everton player, defending as if it is a cup final and would have finished Everton off with a couple more goals to make it 6-1. Doesn’t matter what Chelsea do – the only good thing about how we are playing and how chelsea are playing is that if things stay according to form for the rest of the season (hypothetical of course) it will be much easier to take a title loss.

The person I feel most sorry for….. Dimitar Berbatov. Showed again today that he’s a class act. His goal should have been the settling goal and once again instead of him getting the headlines we have another remarkable piece of throwing the game away from United. I’m livid.
What’s worse for me is I went into the game expecting a draw and was actually surprised by the 1-3 lead after the 90 mins were up, only to watch once again how fucking careless some United players can get when they are ahead.
The defining moment for me? Substitution of Evra for Park. Not Park’s fault of course, but taking off Evra moved John O Shea from the role between defense and midfield to left back, thuis re-organizing our defense with 10 minutes to go. Even if Evra picked up a knock, there has to have beenb at least one other defender on the bench?
Nani today… shocking. Gary Neville… shocking again. Scholes, Berbatov and Vidic = Wonderful. Fuck it anyway.
That being said, people claiming this is the title over… come on now… two dodgy fixtures in recent seasons… Craven Cottage and Goodison Park… lost both last year…. drew both this year. Don’t be stupid after 4 games. Just swallow your pride, take the taunting from your mates because you are only too happy to dish it out I’m sure and just get on with it.

Lets be honest though on another day we would have been 6-7 up, Howard was extremely lucky (I think Sky said it was good goalkeeping but it looked like luck to me) Berba played well, lets give him credit, last season I was a critic but he’s come out this season the player he should be. The back four looked too comfortable for most of the game, so the criticism of Evans seems a bit harsh he did some good blocks, Nev seems to be losing what pace he had though, and fair play to Nani for offering him good backup.

this was building on us from pre-season. we did not have a single cleansheet and at that time i was thinking, this type of defending will cost us. anyways here are my observations.
1. A tv analyst said a couple of weeks ago that vidic is not performing at the same level as the previous seasons. he has become a lazy defender. for me the culprit for the last 2 goals was vidic. he has the better jumping and heading powers and he has to be marking cahill because i saw evans marking yakubu.
2. Neville, Scholes and Evra looked exhausted for the last 20 mins. the closing down outside the box was becoming lesser by the minute. it was this lack of closing down that gave everton the opportunities. why was gibbo not brought on for scholes is beyond me.
3. we have become a team who was feared to a team who teams fancy to beat (ala arsenal). we dont control the game anymore which means the opposing team gains confidence and then we crumble under pressure. i dont know if its the coaching that is at fault or the players themselves but something needs to be changed.
We have done our shopping for the future, some at a premium cost. but what to do if we want to change something now?
Why have we paid 10 million for a centre half and dont play him how the fuck is oshea evans and gibson even at the club never mind in the team .none of the so called youngplayers are up to it for fuck sake . if rio is not playing next week ladyboy will have a field day .vidic is not playing aswell as he can how would you feel with evans at the side of you.

I know mate and Im all for having a whinge about the shite performance of the last 3 mins, its just the end of the world mongers, it really pisses me off!! and everyone starts with the Chelsea this and Chelsea that, the fact is we played well for 90 mins (with a suspect line up if Im honest) and then it was a shocking defensive lapse at the end I agree but we are 4 games into the season and we havent lost a game, there’s a long way to go. Like I say I think a few people need to truly know the bad times at Utd before they can bring the ‘doom’ like some do mate!!

Its strange what happened to Evans. In his first season it seemed like heading clear was his forte. Now, he keeps getting caught under the ball and can’t get any distance. Probably just a loss of form, as happens with all young players. I still believe in the lad. Maybe he was taking his place a little too lightly, Rio’s return should bring the best out of him.
When u field a team with an average age of close to 40 – what do u expect…… Rio back and the avg. age increases even more.
Lets hope that Queiroz comes back and helps develop the kids and tighten up the defense, like he did the other 2 times.

Let’s get it straight. That was Utd’s best performance of the season. Despite a sluggish start to the game we were able to cope with what Everton threw at us, despite the histrionics of their moronic fans.
Evans I thought handled Cahill and Fellaini pretty well in open play. Yet again though we see the sight of John O’Shea, arms outstretched, when he has been beaten in the air…again!
For 90 minutes, Utd were the better side. This hurts cos it doesn’t happen to many teams, let alone Utd (and Preston for that matter..the irony cannot be lost there).
Chelsea aren’t superb and have played cannon fodder. Yet they have maximum points. Let’s move on, beat Rangers and the Dippers and we’ll be two points better off than we were from the same games last season.Should have been much better, but it’s gone now. Accept it and cut the ridiculous sniping.

As for Evans I think they were looking to put him under pressure all game and he just buckled, it’s a shame coz I’m a big fan of his but at the mo I’m thinking we should have kept Piqué!! But to give him a bit of credit, he made 2 cracking diving blocks. Just hope the lads get their heads up for the dippers and Rangers!!

Chelsea make no difference to us, if we lose to Liverpool, I’ll be annoyed, but we have to play Blackpool as well and will give them the battering they deserve to bring them back down to earth. We also have to play Chelsea twice, we’ve shown we can beat them as per the Charity Shield; it’ll come.
