I might get up early doors instead & watch it! I wud have to watch it in silence anyway tonight for fear of wakin the mrs! So not exactly ideal.

  18. Linvoy says:

I was told off last time when Berba put his cool pen away as I gave a little yelp and woke the beast! Didn’t go down well.

    Here you are Goatina just for you;

    http://mesutozil.blogspot.com/

  20. Fze123 says:

@GoatinaUnitedShirt, expect his eyeballs to bulge to an incredulous size, so large that one or both will eventually pop out – remember to dodge once the bulging maximises and looks ready to take off (re: size – possible orange or even melon size), otherwise one may hit you like a bullet in the face. This would ruin your assault, despite it being committed out of mere fascination (?).. It’s a no brainer, they’ll pop out like cannon balls!! Silly of you to think something else will happen.

  21. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

Cheers Linvoy, he is one ugly fucker. Gives the rest of us hope.

  22. Fze123 says:

Hoping for a good game tonight, don’t want to fall asleep like I did while half watching the KC game. We should be guaranteed a good atmosphere, 70k supporters will be attending!

  23. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

    Fze123

  24. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

A right pain in the arse the time like. Its allready 1.30 here and Im cream crackered. Moving house tomorrow and will be driving 400 odd miles. The sensible thing would be to get some sleep but oh no Mr Gill and Sir Alex seem to think its a fucking good idea to keep me up and stir up a blood bath on the long boring Swedish roads.
    Oh well cant be helped.
Cant wait to see chicarito (?) in action and a better performance than the Kansas game that really got on my fucking tits.

  25. McQueen says:

  49. mikekelly12 says:

Sunday was garbage! This team is a bit like a barbariens team. Never played together so cant expect much as good as they might be in the MLS for their respective teams.

  50. TheRadLegion says:

This woman needs a wake up call and stop being so MLS minded.

  70. TheRadLegion says:

CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE FIRE POWER IN EPL THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  95. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Game demonstrates why some people on here should cut Macheda and Gibson a lot of slack. Thats all I’m saying for now.

  96. zigoo says:

    CHICHARITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOO!!!
THIS GUY LOOKS LIKE A YOUNG MICHAEL OWEN!!

  97. Kj says:

    CHICHAAAARIIIIIITOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  98. GG says:

seen enough of the young lads. not worried anymore if we dont sign anyone. were strong enough

  99. elvido says:

Great game, the youngsters did damn good!

  100. Chambo says:

Having seen little to nothing at all of us so far, was pretty pleased with the performance. Hernandez and Macheda played well, Obertan looked sharp before his injury. Thought Cleverley and Gibson did well when they came on.

After all the doom and gloom so far this summer it was pleasing to see us play some good free flowing football and have the younger lads play so well.

Maybe need one signing (such as an Ozil) but to be honest the young lads looked like they slotted into the unit very nicely. Yes, I realise the opposition weren’t premiership standard, but what’re you gonna do!!

Roll on the start of the season!

  101. united.george says:

ESPN showed a guy in the audience wearing a Republik of Mancunia T-shirt, some publicity for the blog Scott.

  102. McQueen says:

Wow, what a night! Was knackered before the game but wide awake after it! Macheda, Gibbo, Cleverly… beautiful. And…. one more time…. CHICHAAAARIIIIITOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  103. Chambo says:

On another note…..look at the size of the bloody trophy!!

  104. RedScot says:

WHat A Fucking chancer no support to back up the headline.
    Get the videos oot.
Fucking chuffed as as a tart with a 50pence for a blo job.
    Good night

  105. Welsh_United says:

LOL they playesr just look embarrsed being given that trophy!!

  106. Shabadu84 says:

wow, now THAT was the type of preseason performance we were waiting for. only bad part was Obertan getting hurt but he looked great prior to the knock. Cleverley…my my my, that’s a FIFA goal. In fact, if you scored that on a friend in FIFA, you’d never forget it, never mind in front of 70K fans

Welbeck and Macheda also looked great. Our first teamers look to be getting into fine form…Giggsy had some imperial insight tonight. And Chicharito really has the potential to be our best value for price since Ronaldo. I’m not counting Rooney b/c we paid a ton for him so we knew what we were getting (and he’s of course been worth every bit)

  107. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    “ITS LIKE LIVING A DREAM”

Just uploaded Hernandez interview after the match

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DPzQgIAmIY

  108. united.george says:

it is going to be crazy in mexico when the teams play….

  109. Chambo says:

    Cheers for that GHTT!

Loved Cleverley after the match on ESPN – “Don’t really remember my goal, might have to watch it again to see how good it was” haha!

  110. RedevilzAdvocate says:

Really impressed with Gibbo’s freekick, its been a while since we’ve had one of those fly in! having said that he was a bit anonymous when he came on, but then again what better way to break out of your anonymity than with a freekick like that! Welbeck did well too

  111. McQueen says:

Yeah typical Gibbo, didn’t do much except pack in a screamer! It’s not a bad habit to get into though lol

  112. pibe says:

    GHTT…
look what i found, your Emily was on national TV here in mexico

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t-wFesA-jI

  113. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

@Pibe Nice one for that ,anyone know how to download a video on youtube and send that to me thats fantastic

i just checked that chant emily is singing has over 104,000 views

it must get sung at a match some where at some time by someone must’n it

  114. Don says:

This was a game to be excited about as a united fan…particularly the performances of Cleverly and Chicharito….the Chicharito has some very good movement and is hungry..he gets in front of goal and he will either put it on frame or create a dangerous situation…with good service he will score some goals….Cleverly=star….the guy can play just about anywhere..is so hungry and his technique is great..great decision making….and has a nose for goal…10-15 goals a season easy from this lad….his sombrero goal was amazing…Obertan shame he went off..was looking bright and lively….Fabio..do whatever your brother on the other side is doing to stay fit because he is just too injury prone…O’Shea looked useful as a holding midfielder and Fletch ran his socks off..Fletch is one of the keys to this team..he does all the dirty work..he is our Van Bommel without al lthe ugly fouls (ok he fouls but not ugly!) and he is always available….without him in the side it is a totally different team….i never thought i would say that but he allows all those creative guys to do their thing…all we are missing (STILL) is the guy who will step in when Scholes/Giggs don’t have the legs to provide the creative element….and this could be a complete team…oh…and we couldn’t defend crosses to save our lives…Wes Brown looked fit as a fiddle, but gave away a cheap goal and didn’t fancy defending crosses with his boy Evans….a lot of work to do their..thank God for Vida still being around….the future is bright indeed though!

  115. pibe says:

theres a program called Youtube Downloader, look it up and download it.. you copy and paste the link of the youtube video you want to download and you can save it..

  116. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    nice one pibe

@don great points mate- Cleverley looks like hes got such a mature head on his shoulders we could have something amazing for the future building again- as in how good was Gabby before he got takin off, Maybe Sir Alex wasnt bullshitting and we dont need anyone due to the reserves we already have

but sur you never win anything with kids

  117. ben says:

cleverly has without a doubt been the most consistant of the kids during this tour, hopefully hell get a chance this year

  118. aig alex is god says:

    @zigoo

    whats wrong with you??.

  119. TheRadLegion says:

So citeh 1-1 club america.. Citehhhhhhhhhhhhh

  120. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    @the redlegion

kinda like the icing on the cakereally before i go to bed , nice one for that news

  121. Ash says:

Great result.Happy that all the youngsters performed well.I have not seen the goal but i heard every goal was a pure class.Very happy for both chicho and macheda.THey are future stars. We just need to be patient with them and all other youngsters.
    United the best

  122. is it fergie time yet says:

almost a complete team..an attacking midfielder would be the final piece of the puzzle!!go united!!

  123. Red Devil says:

Just caught the match live early morning …..The kids ain’t too bad…. eh?

    Some fantastic goals scored today….
    1) a terrific free kick from Gibson
    2) Magnificent run and finish from cleverly….what magnificent composure by young tom there…..
    3) Great debut by CHICHARITOOOOOOOOOOOO………..beautiful run and an even better finish….what a chip from 30 yards out…

Really chuffed…..its early morning here…..what a great way to start the day…..woohoooo!!

  124. socratestee says:

nice one from what ive read so far. bring on August 16th

  125. Dr.hannibal says:

Well some things money can’t buy!! (like shitty) for every things else we have chicharito!!!what a scene when chicharito arrived on the pitch…. Cleverley was MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!
come on u Devils go for 19th title n knock the f**king perch of U ALL KNOW WHO!!!!!!!!!!!

  126. Devil310 says:

    Oh what a GAME!!!!

Our defense looked weak, tho. That has been my only concern in pre-season.

Cleverly, beside that moment of brilliance, lost the ball too many times, and does not have the vision to get out tight spaces. I’m afraid he is not ready yet to command the midfield, but should get more playing time…at least more than Gibbo.

Chicharito tho…he’s movement off the ball is amazing. I’m not sure if he was off-side or not, but he put himself in a great position. I think that’s his best quality!

  127. Costas says:

Just saw the highlights on youtube. Gibson, Cleverley and Chicha took their goals very well. I hope Obertan is ok. Can’t wait for the real action to begin.

  128. bettathedevilsweknow says:

Well done to the youngstars! Hernandez looked right at home in The red shirt! early days i know but very promising for the most part!

  129. Always Be Closing says:

Watched the first half life.. cracking football all round – we pressed, pushed up and generally covered very well.

Great stuff by The Lad Kiko, even better when I caught up on the second half highlights – get in there lads!

  130. arijc says:

Good to see Macheda scoring. Thought he got a lot of unwarranted criticism in the past few days.

  131. giggs11gerrard0 says:

I hope SAF keeps hold of Cleverly for the season and doesnt go out on loan. He good be the answer we are all looking for to play in that attacking midfield role.

  132. trevor says:

    lads,

Watched the second half last night and was quite happy with the players performance and qualities shown.

Was reading a Fergie Interview yesterday with regards to him putting faith in his youth, and i say fair play!

By the sounds of it we obviously have money in the bank for a big player, whoever that is when the come along!… Thats in the bank! ( i do beleive this and can only trust what we are told by United not what i read in the papers)

How Strong are Uniteds youngsters in comparison to our rivals,??….. id have to say if you combined the top 4 teams youngsters they still wouldnt touch ours!

    At The Back

Fabio & Rafeal Look great prospects. Also Evans Delat and Smalling dont look bad and have big chances

    Midfield

Obartan, Cleverly, Gibson, Anderson – Great potential, Any get a run of games and get a bit of confidence you wouldnt bat an eye lid if they became a regular

    Up Front

Wellbeck – Chci – Macheda – All look like they will do a job and have great potential

If as Fergie said we didnt buy anyone this year it wouldnt be the end of the world!

  133. anderson08 says:

I am so happy right now :D
Awesome performance, didn’t see the match live, but am watching tons and tons of replays, brilliant skill from Cleverley, someone said FIFA goal, that’s even hard to score like that on FIFA :D
Macheda was always class, I would play him every game instead of Berbatov. And Chicharito, wow, awesome reception from fans, seems like we all have big faith in this boy, great finish.

  134. bigphil2003 says:

@GHTT – thanks for the upload mate. Some cracking goals there – kind of wish I’d stayed up and watched it now rather than the last two! haha.

  135. bigphil2003 says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ5wKC43wZI
Highlights for anyone that can’t find them. Not the best quality but it has all the goals and a few chances with typical south american commentary.

  136. Dr. Mico says:

    http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={F9E570E6-407E-44BC-800F-4A3110258114}&newsid=6651007

i’m wondering which one of our players has got the worst accent after listening to Chicarito for the first time.

  137. MG says:

    Good Morning

Well my internet stopped working as I settled in for the match

    : (

    We won though : )

    @RedScot

Thank you for the words man – : )

  138. busby says:

I for one can’t wait to see Chicharito play with Berbatov (hopefully in the next game). Berba’s classy touches will complement the pace of Chica beautifully and I think they will be a great contingency plan should Rooney not be fit at any point of the season.

  139. MG says:

    Been watching the highlights

The American commentator goes after Cleverly scores

“He was an MVP at Watford last year”

What a fucking beauty – you have to love the Americans – we would have a field watching United in America for a season : )

Chicharito’s goal was another excellent insight to what the kid can do. Yet Macheda again showed maturity in his goals and Gibson continues his progress.

Wonderful – if they can get better – if they can improve and become the footballers we expect them too – this will be the ultimate satisfaction for us – it is after all the whole philosophy of Manchester United

When you consider players like Pogba – Morrison – Keane etc yet to develop

When you consider the potential of Fabio and Raphael

    What Smalling could become

    How far Cleverly could develop

When you take into perspective what we have and what they are becoming

There is nothing but proudness that Manchester United continue a legacy started a long time ago under Sir Matt and now reinvents itself continuously under Sir Alex

Only some of us really get that – this is history repeating itself – it happened with Becks Scholes Giggs Butt – the Neville brothers… It’s happening all over again – this will be a hell of a ride

    Again…

And when all is said and done – this is why we are proud to be Manchester United

  140. MG says:

    Further from the last comment

It’s in our blood – the reinvention of the team – to turn back to youth – to trust the development of those that will one day take the club on a different level

Seemingly we can buy ourselves the joy of winning – as others do and are doing

Or we never abandon the very principles that Sir Matt started

    If players like
Duncan Edwards Roger Byrne Captain of Manchester United – Eddie Coleman – Mark Jones – Tommy Taylor – David Pegg – Geoff Bent – Billy Whelan were alive today – maybe a lot more of us would get that this is where we come from – get that United is truly unlike any other team – get that if we walk away from this (like we did for the best part of 26 years and plus) then we will never be who we are meant to be.

When people come on here and spout rubbish about the team – when they accuse Sir Alex of abandoning so called monetary principles for the sake of these principles which are woven in and through the fabric of the club – they are sorely mistaken

We do not need to position ourselves as City fans keep on harking about to do what we have to – we do not need to gloat like Chelsea fans do – we do not need to remind like Liverpool fans do of what we have achieved

We just need to believe and carry on the very things that are central to our love for this club.

    Manchester United will never die

This shirt is a symbol of defiance

havent been on in ages! :) but i think the gaffer may be right! :) our youngsters are looking good – not too bad judging from last nights performances

they are all filling out, and even welbeck looks stockier and stronger – macheda is a big lad too and the midfield is not too bad

cleverley really looks positive, intelligent off the ball and hardworking – chicharito is really, really, quick but a little small – maybe owen like, so i think owen is definitely gonna be tha back up

nani also looked quite bright and the midfield passing last night was really quite good – dont want to jinx it, but this time, i think fergie is getting it right again! :)

    SAF forever! :)
