  25. portugueseprincess says:

    Not again!!!!

  26. dv-ant says:

    wtf!

  27. Djunfitforwork says:

Sh*t! Kracic looked good in the away leg also.

  28. rooninho says:

the lads are acting like its a training session! wake the fuck up!!! the whole back four need to apologize to edwin for leaving him out there on an island by himself.

  29. portugueseprincess says:

I’m still in shock…wtf was that all about???

  30. rooninho says:

its early but they need to draw level by halftime. this particular group of players haven’t really been in the team together and it shows. the passing is off and the back line looks confused. fletch looks rusty as well.

  31. Djunfitforwork says:

Half time changes? Or will SAF leave it for a while?

  32. Corea says:

Nani… decision making apart from the back heel is so poor.
I don’t want to find a scapegoat but it was so obvious. :(

  33. Tonybee says:

What the fuck is going on…..
Does SAF have to put the second string out tonight of all nights……
I know we have Rentboys at the weekend but fucking hell…….
Still think we gonna win it though if SAF uses his wily old head substitute wise…
    COME ON YOU FUCKING REDS

  34. portugueseprincess says:

@ Corea, It always Nani’s fault, isn’t it? Even if our defense is shit, Nani is always the worse player on the field…

  35. gavinm2 says:

Theres no creatvitiy in the mid – for once this is a game for Carrick with Fletcher holding.

Nani is poor again – SAF will change after 60 mins I reckon… Nani & Scholes off.

  36. Tonybee says:

Corea…. Nani has been shit all season,
his decision making, his play, his workrate
and especially his crossing have not been up to standard
afraid he’s become to big for his boots and its time to get rid.

  37. Drew Vader says:

Anyone else watching in the States?? What the fuck is Setanta doing?? At half time they started showing the fucking Prem Review Show!! WTF

  38. Corea says:

    @ portugueseprincess

learn to read the comment as a whole. i don’t think that much about the result, i am looking to the future.
if you want to make the “scapegoat thing” out of my post you are always welcome especially if it makes you feel better.

  39. Tonybee says:

portegueseprincess; Nani has been poor all season and yes I expect you to support him but he is rubbish

  40. Drew Vader says:

Kiko is class by the way…

  41. willierednut says:

Lets not just blame nani the whole team ave been poor.

  42. Mahesh says:

any working links guys? i see no pic on the atdhe.net link.

  43. Tonybee says:

Yes they have been poor and yes we shouldn’t pick on just one player but……

  44. Costas says:

The whole team is poor and a lot of that has to do with the fatc that there is no reassurance from the defense. We have to get Vida fit for Sunday by any means necessary.

  45. Drew Vader says:

Costas — I don’t think the whole team has been poor to be honest dude. I just think its been two mistakes that were punished. We have created numerous chances

  46. portugueseprincess says:

Why is it that only Nani is mentioned when other players are making mistakes as well? i’m not saying that he has not been poor but sometimes it seems that he is the only one making mistakes.

  47. portugueseprincess says:

    Can’t believe this….

  48. willierednut says:

    Piss poor united.

  49. Drew Vader says:

    Make that 3 mistakes

  50. dv-ant says:

is this the defence were gonna put out against chelsea ?
    FFS!

  51. rooninho says:

    fuckin penalty!!!!!!!

  52. ben says:

    @ mahesh

keep refreshing the homepage. they post new links as they come in

  53. Tonybee says:

unfortunately he tried to assume the mantle after Ronnie left after always stating that he would if given as much time in the 1st team as Ronnie had. but it has not worked out for him. He is never going to be the player he thinks he is in his own mind…..

  54. portugueseprincess says:

WTF referee??? As we would say in Portugal: Filho da P***

  55. willierednut says:

    fucking joke ref.

  56. rooninho says:

how did the ref miss that!?

  57. gavinm2 says:

well there you have it – 3-1 down, a pen as clear as day, the ref doing a Wenger or Stevie Wonder impression!!!!!

Roll on Sun for more of the same – NOT!

  58. Gandalf says:

Ok, so this ref is totally blind and also a moron.
Now lets show the United spirit and get back into the game.

  59. gavinm2 says:

Valencia needs to get the ball in quicker – stop fucking about with it!!!!!

  60. portugueseprincess says:

    Come on United!

  61. portugueseprincess says:

    This referee is an idiot.

  62. vidic will get ya 15 says:

    aguero just scored against chelsea

  63. rooninho says:

take kiko off. he looks tired. bring in obertan and move rooney up front.

  64. rooninho says:

krasic is gonna get signed by saf after this performance.

  65. vishnu1729 says:

with this team and tactics SAF is not gonna make out this season..we nead a CM player to pull strings..ship out carrick,nani,..pls dont play scholes….
and buy a fucking play maker…..please.we need one..not a hargro or fletcher type….a well established kaka type player..

  66. portugueseprincess says:

Today is not our day…what a great header.

  67. aimanunited says:

CSKA has so many fuckin’ talents… sign akinfeev and krasic please!!!

  68. portugueseprincess says:

    Scholeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssss I love u

  69. Stand up for the Red Army says:

Sign their goalie up, for fucksake…..

  70. rooninho says:

sign up akinfeev too! i am a believer now!

vishnu mate, let’s not doom and gloom it up just yet. we’re top of the group, we can get back to the top of the prem table… it’s a bad performance today but the starting xi is the way it is because of chelsea.

wes brown makes up for the first cska goal.

    c’mon united!!!!!

a draw gets us through to the group stage!!!!!!!

  71. john ferry says:

    scholes he score goals !!!

  72. rooninho says:

sorry scholesy thought it was wes!

  73. rooninho says:

should be 3-3 if that penalty on fletcher was given!

  74. portugueseprincess says:

    Valenciaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  75. rooninho says:

    come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  76. rooninho says:

    football, bloody hell.

    come on united!!!!!

  77. john ferry says:

    yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayay valencia!!!!!!!

  78. portugueseprincess says:

Why must we do things the hard way? :)

  79. rooninho says:

could’ve been 4-3 if that penalty on fletcher was called. to be fair afinkeev looks like he has the talent to do well in a pk situation so it wouldn’t have been automatic.

job done as far as qualifying for the group stage goes.

  80. Tonybee says:

Fucking hell …..SAF you fucking genius…..
almost doubted you tonight , but fuck me the lads came back…..
try the fucking hair-dryer before the start of the next game……

Things to be learnt from tonight…
Nani should be sent to play with the reserves
Obertan fears no-one and should start against the Rentboys…..
the Ginger prince can head a ball….

AND WE ARE THE GREATEST SIDE IN THE FUCKING WORLD

  81. Corea says:

Job done ? Are you sure ?
With that sort of effort ? Scholesy looked dead tired in the end. We had to play Rooney and Evra. I don’t know what else to say.

  82. Costas says:

The only positive from today was the perservation of the unbeaten home record. But the defense was awful. The Fletcher penalty apart, in the second half we only started creating openings after the 80th minute. If we play like this on Sunday, it’s not looking good. 17 goals conceded in 18 games for fuck’s sake.

  83. Long John O'Shea says:

That keeper just added a few million onto his price-tag…..

  84. Gerkeo says:

Sorry Scott, I know you champion his cause but time has to be up for nani, again he was disasterous. Obertan came on and made suce a difference teaming up with evra.

  85. Maci says:

Honestly that was a fuckin great game! One of the best i have seen in a while. Well played lads… Great job and made me proud! What a comeback! As soon as rooney came on the whole game changed! Obertan is an absolute class act and in my opinion way better than nani. He played like a champ. Well done lads! Great comeback and looking forward to the knockout rounds. United 4 life i fucking love u boys!! U made my night!! Now lets do these bloody rent boys on sunday! MUFC :-) .

  86. portugueseprincess says:

Our defense is in serious need of an hairdryer treatment. I am really happy that we won but we are making far too many mistakes and conceding far too many goals. Hopefully Sir Alex will sort this out. To be honest, I really did not expected us to come back from this, but we did. But let’s not play like this against Chelsea otherwise we will be in even more trouble.

  87. al says:

    fornicate hell what a finish!

was expecting a last minute winner like in the city match- i’ll happily take the draw.

Neville MOTM without a doubt for me, going forward he was brilliant.

our defence was shocking though; poor defending almost cost us the game, and igor akinfeev alone kept CSKA in it!

igor akinfeev- fergie sign him up, fergie fergie sign him up! beginning to think he could be a perfect keeper to replace VDS in a year or two.

fletcher not getting the penalty- one of the worst decisions i’ve seen in years. was the ref bleedin’ blind?! i thought he was good in the first half, but not awarding that penalty was just fornicate shocking!!

  88. Red Army says:

    Costas

And how many of those 18 games have the full defence played in, including Edwin as part of the full defence.

    ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

I’d rather win 5-4 than 1-0 anyday. Score more than the other team and you win.

    Roll on Real.

  89. Fze123 says:

Great comeback, but shit defence. We have conceded too many goals so far, and luck was on our side not to lose at home and maintain our unbeaten record. Wonder what Fergie said to them at half time, credit to him. When will we ever hit top form? Vidic will aparently be fit for sunday, which is a bonus. Wes should start at RB, plays best there. My team for sunday:

    VDS
    Brown Vidic Rio/Evans Evra
    Valencia Fletcher Ando Obertan
    Rooney Berba

I doubt Nani’s performance will earn him a place in the starting line-up. Obertan will destroy the rentboys with his pace and trickery if he starts.

  90. mikekelly12 says:

We didn’t win we drew! I think the result will paper over some cracks this evening. I like the look of Obertan, his passing looked crisp and accurate and he looks like he can get away from players unlike Nani! Seriously need to sort our defence out and add some creativity in midfield. We created chances after 80 mins because they tired and retreated to protect their lead. Credit our comittment though and well done for keeping going. Play like this against Chelski though and we’re fucked!!

  91. karandravs says:

i know SAF said that the European refs are butchers dog, but he meant that as a compliment, this ref took it on the opposite. A stonewalled penalty denied and gives Fletcher a card for diving. Then he didnot book the CSKA player for handling, which would have been a second booking for that player.
Except for that he was fine all night keeping the game going.

this game again highlights how low Nani is on confidence, he has the skills but just cant put them into the game.
Obertan on the other hand looked more relaxed and into the game, good going lad.
I was thoroughly impressed by Macheda’s power and ability to hang onto the ball. Valencia aided by Neville looked dangerous. When Oshea plays on the right, he just doesnt add any tooth to the attacking threat from Valencia.
Overall i am happy to see a gusty performance,

  92. Costas says:

@portugueseprincess : I agree about the defense and i will add that it’s not just about the back 5. The 2 CMs, for different reasons, didn’t protect them well enough today.

As far as Nani is concerned, ok lets dump him. Who’s going to play? Park is injured, Giggs can only play once a week and Obertan is still unproven. Last week i said that Nani is annoying as hell in his decision making but he was NOT the reason we conceded 3 today. We can’t expect from our attackers to outscore the other team all the time.

  93. Fze123 says:

@ portugueseprincess, we drew, not won. :)

  94. rooninho says:

    @corea

united needed a draw to reach the group stages of the champion’s league. they played like shite and still got a draw. still top of their group at the end of the day. if fletcher got his penalty it could’ve been 4-3 united.

saf played half his reserve team today and escaped with a draw and qualification, and the lads showed some steel and character to get the point.

it won’t be the same team vs chelsea and they will have to play a million times better, but lets not get all gloomy around here and look at some of the positives.

if you told me before the game that united would draw today and qualify, i would have taken that and said job done.

  95. Corea says:

I don’t care if we lose to Chelsea or not. It won’t be the end of the world but there is a hell lot of work to be done. We just have to improve.
There can be a lot of reasons for the result today. A blip, underestimation, complacency, ahead of the Chelsea game etc. But something clearly isn’t working. They got tired and just then we started to create chances.
Play Obertan ahead of Nani when he is fit please. Play Fabio more often please. I don’t know what to say, i just hope things will change.

  96. Costas says:

    @Red Army:

You are right. We haven’t had a steady defensive partnership(much less a steady back 4) this season. That’s part of the problem especially when Brown and Evans haven’t played a lot together. But this year the defense has been shakey even when Rio and Vida start together.

  97. thedevil85 says:

qualification sorted, we need intensity for 90 minutes on sunday not the last 15, my one wish, 5 star united performance which would lead to a thumping for rentboys,
also we got somet to look forward too tomorrow, livershit goin out, hahaahhahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
KEEP THE RED FLAG FLYIN HIGH!
    3PTS SUNDAY YEA

  98. Corea says:

“if you told me before the game that united would draw today and qualify, i would have taken that and said job done.”

not this way. players were dead tired. for sure SAF didn’t plan this.
the only positive is coming back from the 2 goals deficit with players like Obertan on the field.
By the way, Gary looked good today.

  99. JD says:

You know, Obertan looks so promising its unreal. Not only does he look good on the ball and off the ball, he brings Evra into the mix far more than Nani ever did, which is simply 100000000% better for the team. Simple football >>>>> Nani, and we hardly have a clue about whatelse obertan can do

  100. steveauburn says:

Impressed with Macheda tonight, unlucky not to score and had some nice touches. Few years away from being a starter but showing good signs.

Obertan did well when he came on and I think Nani will be scared, what I liked about him was that he looked for the pass before running into trouble (also showed some good vision).

The only defence I have for Nani is that he has been playing on the left, however I dont rate him and I hate his cocky swagger.

Fingers crossed we are more switched on come sunday!

  101. Drew Vader says:

Why is Obertan played on the left though? I swear I don’t think I saw him touch the ball once with his left foot, and I know that he didn’t beat his man down the line once, he cut back inside to his right foot every single time, or played in Evra down the line.

I thought Kiko was an 8 out of 10 tonight.

  102. Drew Vader says:

Oh and Johnny Evan and Obertan both need to watch out… They both had a little bit of the red mist today, especially Obertan who on the replay looked like the kicked the shit out of their player away from the ball and behind the ref’s back. I hate that pussy kind of play. The guy had his back turned and you kick him and then run away… He was right to be pissed off.

  103. Costas says:

@Drew Vader: Hi mate. I think Obertan has that reputation fro his Bordeaux days. He is still young and hopefully his short fuse will wear off after a while.

Speaking of Bordeaux, i think congrats are in order for Laurent and the job he has done with them.

  104. Welbz19 says:

Thought Neville wad a disgrace for 80 minutes slow, constantly out of position, poor work-rate!
Fantastic last ten mins from him tho!!

  105. steveauburn says:

Because we have three right footed wingers. One of them has to play out there or we need to buy a left sided winger or one comfortable playing out there.

The threat of Evra meant their defenders didnt double up on Obertan and also Evra often overlaped which meant Obertan had no need to beat them.

The left sided position is definately going to be a big turning point. I definately would not play Nani against Chelsea

  106. rooninho says:

    @corea

i understand and agree with your disappointment in the team’s performance. but it is a result that worked in our favor. kiko macheda heroics last year saved our title hopes last year in games like villa where we played poorly and could have cost us the title. but nobody talks about their poor form in those games, you just remember the end result.

if fletcher got the penalty and united scored and it ended up 4-3 united would you still be so negative? i think yes. cheers mate, i respect your opinion but we qualified today with a team full of reserve and squad players. it was fletcher’s first game back. wes hasn’t played first team football in awhile, and this is the champion’s league and not a carling cup game against a championship side. cska wasn’t just going to roll over. this is a bad performance but not a bad result in terms of the team’s goals for qualification.

i expect a much better starting xi and performance against chelsea.

  107. steveauburn says:

Also is anyone else thinking Aguero would be a hell of a purchase. Rather him than Villa because of the age gap.

  108. Jim says:

I actually feel a little sorry for Nani. The guy aint performing but it most be so hard getting subbed every game. I just wish he would try and do the simple things and build his game from there.

  109. Drew Vader says:

Costas — Yeah he’s just 20 I guess and hopefully SAF and the coaches will see it on the replay and have words with him about it.

And I agree, Larry White looks like a very promising young coach.

  110. Drew Vader says:

    Any word on the Reserves?

  111. Corea says:

Goodnight guys. Tomorrow will be another day.

  112. dl says:

considering the players we had missing (berba, giggs, vida, rio, as well as not having rooney and evra on for the better part of an hour) it was more like the second team was playing, plus add to that that we have not been playing to top level as of yet and that we were against a very solid team in cksa moscow (who are not an easy team by any means, they could give all the top teams problems on their day and today was obviously one of those days – apart from the final scoreline) and the draw was a gutsy performance from utd – not many teams would be able to pull themselves back together after going down by 2 goals. Yes, we have some pretty major problems that we need to find the answers to before 2010 rolls in and we start to pay for our mistakes. The major problem seems to be our defense with vds not quite in the rhythm of things since coming back from his injury and only evra really doing the business in the back 4 – rio & vidic need to recover from their injuries and snap out of whatever they’re going through, and whilst we’re still in 2009, and we need a more regular right back who can do the job. The more forward positions however show much promise for the future with berba & rooney showing signs of improvement, obertan looks like he’s got potental, owen’s doing his part for the bargain of the year award and valencia, though no ronaldo replacement is doing a very good impression of rescuing pts at the death. And with hargreaves hopefully coming back this side of the decade (touch wood) and ljanic & diouf (who both look like talents for the future) the sparks that has been clearly missing from the team so far this season could be soon winging their way back. i’m cautious but optimistic right now.

  113. portugueseprincess says:

@Fze123, I was way too excited when I wrote that. :)

  114. steveauburn says:

    Just seen Aguero’s goals…bloody hell

  115. Manchester United Indonesia says:

I hope they can fix it… Go MU!

  116. RedHarry4Life says:

One thing that stood out tonight. What a gentleman Fletcher is turning out to be. That booking tonight. Yes he did protest a bit. But could you imagine what Drogba would have done? Or Stevie me, Torres, Faburshite?

    Mucho respecto Fletcherinho

And after his red card at the emirates last year where Faburshite threww himself to the ground and rolled over a few times.

  117. kel says:

Guys, seeing all this comment seems funny. All the blame is on nani. i know he did badly but he setup for the first goal is nice. i bet no one other than him and Berbatov is able to do that. If he play badly, we should just ignore him and stop condemn him and let Sir Alex plan. i didn’t get to watch the match as i was so sleepy and i thinking during that time whether to watch. I decided to sleep and how wrong was i. It was a wonderful comeback. Oh my. Gonna catch the repeat. I hope we go on to win the match this weekend. All the pundits are predicting the opponent will win us. I know we playing badly, but not sure why i had a feeling we can win or draw there.

  118. kel says:

    @Corea
Be positive mate. Everything will be sorted. We need to gel and we had more players coming in January. i don’t think they play badly. Coming back from 3-1 to 3-3. I expected in the beginning of the season where they will be playing like this and grinding result out. I remember scott mentioning that too. If we can win the trophy by the end of the season will this kind of form, i could take it. I don’t want to watch beautiful football like Arsenal and not win anything at the end of the season.

  119. Corea says:

    @ kel

you will have to read not one comment of mine in order to understand how possitive i am. ;)
Nobody blames Nani for the result. It was just an impression and nothing else. I don’t see any improvement and that’s it. Play Obertan instead of Nani anyday.

  120. kel says:

Hmm. In the 2nd half, nani did well i thought. After watching the game, macheda seems to miss a couple of chance. He can’t play a one two with owen.

  121. Datnana says:

Well, i often get it right. How do these names sound? Obertan, Zidane. It’s all in it. The lad entertains but with urgency. That’s the united way. It has been missing, but i can see it coming back. There’s just something about orbetan.i feel he’s underrated.thanx SAF. My quote!: FORGET ZIDANE, PLAY OBERTAN, AND I’TS DONE. Nani’s only chance: try him as a striker. He’ll be best there,’cos for sure despite his poor decision making, he shoots at the site of goal. United, play with urgency and chelsea will be no match. Utd 3 : 1 chels.

  122. Datnana says:

Song for obertan: IT IS DONE! DONE! DONE! WE’VE GOT OBERTAN. WE ARE HAPPY, WE’VE GOT GABBY, WE’VE GOT OBERTAN.

  123. Manchuchu says:

Nani has absolutely no fucking business wearing a United shirt, what a complete zero.

Move over Soul-Glo, Even Macheda playing fill in wing before Obe-Tan Kenobi came in did a better job. Nani in completely infuriating… He is simply not good enough and even at his best is sub-par.

On the night Macheda was fucking class, not just for an 18 year old, but for a holding target man period. Obi-Tan was definitely more assured than he was on debut, and even this early looks to have a better head on him than Soul-Glo the professional bad luck doll.
