it seams other teams raise their bar when they play united. should have been 2 -0. but again poor finishing and excellent defending . for me it was ok performence. berba was good, rooney a bit ok only, nani again inconsistent,valencia nowhere to be seen.

Whilst i understand your frustration predicting we will finish 5th or 6th is a bit daft. Yes we are not playing well. But its ONLY the 3rd game of the season. We dont need to buy a lot of players maybe just a creative attacking midfielder. Our squad is very strong and can win the league but they have to start believing that and play with confidence.

After the 1st half, I thought we’d rue the missed chances, but BOY was I wrong! Well taken goals and those taken with a little luck, but great all around. Fletch and Scholes were good in midfield. Nani was in and out of the game, but is showing a little more promise. Valencia owned the right wing, but I still wonder if he can cut inside and shoot/cross with his left. Berba showed his class today setting up early chances and finishing a lovely goal. Rooney was Rooney. Good to see Owen get off the mark. My favorite moment had to be the emotion Berba showed after his goal. He was far from “cool”. Loved it!

Berba’s tackling in our own half created the 4th. Get off his case. He is class. I admit, I wanted more goals from Berba. We have another from him. No complaints at all, from today. It did look like a stunner from wigan might have stung us again at half time. We raised our game. and we are back to normal. Gunners won too. Next stop, a proper game of footy. 3 games in, 35 to go till the all-important 19th title. The seasons flying by, and we’ll soon forget the Burnley game.

Foster was IMMENSE (His saves made me not miss VDS)
Vida was IMMENSE (I’m happy we’ve the best defender in the world)
Fletcher was running his own show in CM. Overshadowing Scholes, which is hard to do. But kudos to Scholes, had some great passes too! Nani was better than his usual self. I hope he keeps this up, though it’d be nice to have him run at defenders more, cut in etc.
Evra – Best LB in the Universe.
G Nev just needs more games I reckon.
Valencia, likes his direct play much, prolly needs more games/confidence, doesn’t really believe in his ability/potential!
Rooney – As usual 10/10
Berba – Always loved this guy, great assists, great goal/control
Owen, nice debut goal, fuckin top class finish.

really good game today. rooney and berbatov were awesome. fletcher was great, should start every game. nani improved in the second half, first half he gave the ball away too many times. foster made great saves. vidic was solid in defence.

Berbatov rarely ever loses possession (unlike Tevez) and a sheer god with the through ball. I think we should be seeing him as more of a forward playmaker who can also sniff for cherries in the box. More of a Kaka, than a Nistelrooy.

Must say,my mood improved as the 3 sporting events I’m interested in went on.

Started with the Formula One.I’m a Ferrari fan,and that Badoer bastard qualifies last.Then switched to cricket,England were whooping Australia(I know I’m Indian,but I hate the Aussies) and then FIVE BEAUTIFUL GOALS TO NIL!!It gradually improved and now I can sleep happily knowing that United have won comprehensively.

I agree ChaosRed. It’s an emotional game, it’s just in the heat of the moment this week people went overboard. Trust me, i feel every loss as much as the next guy, but when we lose it’s “this players shit”, and “that players got to go”. The next week the player plays well, scores etc and we’re back to square one.

Maybe, I’m just getting old and have seen it all before. We tend to lose 2-6 games a season, and we can’t win every trophy. We should still try though!

It was a decent performance – I think our all round game needs just a little more work…The score also reflected how woeful Wigan were. Having said that, just the fact that we put goals in the net is a huuuugge boost, expecially with berba and owen getting off the mark. I’m not sure if a similar performance against a class team would have got us a win, let alone a 5-0 win. First half the tempo was slow, the movement wasn’t great, and the finishing worrying. I think we need a few more games to get into stride – there are promising signs though, just as there are some niggling worries. Satisfying night all in all…

Great display in 2nd half. Should play the same team against Arsenil.
Nani is very inconsistent and loses possession too often giving the other team a chance to counterattack. Once he improves on this aspect of his game he will the best winger in england.
Gibson should also be playing more often now.He would have scored in the place of Scholes. Very satisfied with this away scoreline. Bring on Arsenal !!

First half was poor but after Rooneys first we went from strength to strength.
Vidic gave our back four confidence, Fletcher did a great job enforcing the midfield, Berbatov makes the difference up front. Darren Gibson needs to be called up to the first XI… didya see that bullet he let fly, wicked.

Over here Mainz just beat Munich 2:1 which is a brilliant result!

For anyone who isn’t convinced by Antonio Valencia, you must take into account that he is being labelled as Ronaldo’s replacement. That is a lot of pressure on a player who clearly doesn’t like the attention and spotlight that comes with being a United player.

I’ve seen enough of him in his matches so far to say that he’s gonna be quality. He’s already shown the ability. He’s stupendously fast, whips in a wicked cross and has a great shot.
