This is in contrast to the city of Liverpool, who were amusingly named ‘European Capital of Culture in 2008′, whilst their football team won fuck all. Again. (Oh and Gerrard is still locked up)

The UEFA Cup is the tournament for Europe’s teams who aren’t quite elite, but get to play a bullshit tournament out of pity, and I’m glad that we have not been involved in that competition often enough to have won it.
