Manchester United take on West Brom tomorrow, hoping to take advantage of both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur dropping points, to climb as high up the table as possible.

Darren Fletcher and Jonny Evans, two players who made their way up through the ranks at United, have both joined West Brom in the past year.

Evans is unavailable with a hamstring injury but Fletcher, the captain who has played in 30 games this season, is set to face us.

Louis van Gaal has reflected on two of his former players, who he told were free to move on.

Jonny is a big loss for every team. I’m very sorry that he cannot play. I’d like to see him again and I’ll also see my ex-captain Darren Fletcher. I’m happy that Darren is playing so often, because that was our aim also when we spoke about his departure. It’s not always easy to say things to the players about it being better for them to go, but when you see players like Jonny and Darren playing so regularly, it’s good for players. I’m very happy for them.
