Marcos Rashford was a last minute starter for Manchester United in our 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland, with Anthony Martial getting injured in the warm-up, just as David de Gea did a week ago.
The 18-year-old had a dream debut, scoring twice, to put United 2-1 ahead, then 3-1 ahead, and Louis van Gaal was full of praise for the youngster.
He was unbelievable. In the first half, he ran too much to the sides. At half-time, I had to say to him that he should be within the width of the goal and he shall score. He got his first two goals, which was fantastic for him.
Now that United have convincingly booked their place in the next round, Van Gaal has hailed the attacking football his team played.
It was a great performance I think. I think the fans enjoyed our attacking football because we started so well and we created so many chances. They scored the first time they crossed the halfway line and you might see a decline in confidence, but no, the spirit was so high. We continued our attacking football, with our spirit, and 5-1 looks easy, but it was not.
