In Louis van Gaal’s programme notes ahead of Manchester United’s game against Chelsea, the manager thanks the fans for the support we have showed the team despite the poor results, and urges for us to get behind the players again today.

I know as supporters you have seen incredible success and have so many wonderful memories from your time watching Manchester United at Old Trafford. So seeing the team get poor results is strange for you, but the best way to come out of this period and improve is for us all to stick together. The players always appreciate your wonderful support, and I know that they can count on it again during today’s game.

We can turn this situation around. This is Manchester United, a club which is known around the world for never being beaten, and I have confidence in the players, the staff and in myself that we can do this and begin to once again reward you all.
