I just watched the Gabby Logan BBC interview with Giggsy and Gary Nev, a real treat. Apart from the laughs it brought home just how important age and experience is at this level. They paid tribute to the older players in the 95/96 'can't do anything with kids' season. They now have the same responsibility this season, and one of the great things about the eruption of Macheda is to see him on the same pitch with Giggs and Neville, like the baton being passed on. Even more important, Neville, who hadn't in truth played well, still managed to get forward and supply the initial cross which eventually led to the winner against Villa. And guess who threaded through the inch-perfect , beautifully-weighted pass for Macheda to spin onto? That old man Giggsy of course, showing all the calm and control under pressure developed in the last 18-odd years.I'm glad he was on the bench against Sunderland because I think we can assume he'll be on from the start against Porto. I can't wait!!

Well done to young lad to get out of jail yet again.

Rather than relying on others to finish the Scousers off, I hope that we do othe job ourselves. We should be able to win all remaining home matches plus at least one away one.

Yes King Eric.I think Pompey are a week from Wednesday. It's on the 22nd of April.I worry for the fixture schedule because it's not objective.Especially that thing they did with City,Wigan and Arsenal all within 6 days. That's why i really hope we get some distance from the scousers by the end of the month.Maybe Manuchoi might help!

Costas - Would not worry too much about the fixtures mate. Sir Alex said at his press conference yesterday that games on a Saturday then a Wednesday is ideal and more than enough time to prepare. When do we play Pompey, is it a week on Wednesday?

Like Howlin' Wolf, 'I aint superstitious', but ... it really bothers me when people start saying what results they want or, worse, predict. You never get the results you need that way, it just jinxes you. United just need to take it calmly, game by game, and let others worry about their own results. And worry about Macheda. Sometimes you get some totally unpredicted factor like him that wins trophies. His energy and movement and awareness of goal is wonderful to see in someone so young.

The lad is oozing with confidence shown by the way he was itching to run at the defenders with the ball, kept calling for the ball.

Since Rooney, have not seen a 17 year old play with such confidence but still a long way to go for him. Hope he trusts the people around him because he is at the right club.
