The only problem facing the gaffer in United’s game with Arsenal is which side to put out to beat the Gunners once again. United have won five of their last six meetings between the two sides at Old Trafford, and look sure to have too much firepower for the Londoners to handle.

As usual Wayne Rooney will be the first name to go down on the starting 11 sheet, but who will partner him up front is the big question. Ferguson revealed in his press conference on Friday that Chicarito is fit and ready to start following his subsitute outing at Spurs. That’s fantastic news and under normal cicrumstances he would be an automatic pick to partner Rooney.

However Danny Welbeck’s outstanding performance against Tottenham, which included a goal and a fabulous back heel to set up Anderson’s strike, means it is no gimme to the Mexican to slot back into the starting line-up. Ferguson admitted that it was a “problem” deciding between the pair, but it’s certainly a nice one to have and there is no doubt that he will make the right choice once again.

He has proved time and time again that when it comes to the big games he is the master tactician and chooses the side which he believes has the best chance of securing the 3 points. It’s also worth bearing in mind that last season’s leading goalscorer Berbatov has a fantastic record of netting against Wenger’s side. That will not have gone unnoticed by Ferguson even though he has slipped down the pecking order as far as strikers are concerned.

The bookies obviously think that Berba could be a surprise choice to start as he is not far off favourite in their first goalscorer market.

Many firms go just 6 about him netting the opener, although you can get 7 with Victor Chandler which could be a bit of value if he starts.

Not surprisingly it’s Rooney who heads the market have netted in both PL games this season. He is generally a 5 chance, with Victor Chandler going a stand alone top price of 5.75.

Another player who seems to love scoring against the Gunners is Ryan Giggs, and he’s a decent outsider at 15 with the same firm.

Ji-Sung Park’s name has also popped up on the scoresheet in recent years, and he can be backed at the same price as Giggs with BetFred.
