Manchester United are fancied to return to winning ways when they host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manager Jose Mourinho will have United fired up to bounce back from their defeat against Chelsea in their last game, so take advantage of odds of 27/25 for them to score in both halves this weekend.

The Red Devils’ 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge left them eight points behind table-topping Manchester City and Mourinho will be keen to ensure they don’t lose any more ground ahead of the upcoming derby game in December.

Defender Phil Jones should be fit for the match after limping out of England’s 0-0 draw with Germany with a calf injury.

Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick remain on the sidelines, while Marcos Rojo won’t be considered after playing just 45 minutes for United’s Under-23 side after being out since April with a cruciate ligament injury.

The home side are priced at 1/4 to win the game, with Newcastle on offer at 23/2 and the draw available at 24/5.

Striker Romelu Lukaku broke Belgium’s all-time goalscoring record against Japan on Tuesday and he’ll be eager to carry that form into the Newcastle game.

Lukaku hasn’t scored in his last four Premier League appearances, but he is as short as 21/10 to grab the opener against the Magpies.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has a few injuries worries to contend with ahead of the game, with Mikel Merino, Jamaal Lascelles and Christian Atsu all doubtful.

The visitors are currently 11th in the Premier League, but with just five points between them and 18th-placed West Ham United they will be looking nervously over their shoulders.

Newcastle haven’t won at Old Trafford since a 1-0 victory back in 2013 and they can be backed at 19/1 to repeat that scoreline on Saturday.

One win in their last nine meetings with United in all competitions doesn’t bode well for their chances, but if they are to spring a surprise a low-scoring draw could be their best chance of taking something from the game.

A 1-1 draw is on offer at 9/1 and that may appeal to punters who fancy Newcastle to frustrate the home side.

United have won 22 and lost just one of their last 32 league games against Newcastle at Old Trafford (W22, D9, L1) and it’s difficult to see anything other than a home success this weekend.

Mourino’s side are strongly fancied at 7/4 to win both halves on Saturday and keep themselves in the title mix.
