The next United Nights is taking place on Friday, February 10th, the day before Liverpool. Mickey Thomas and Sammy Mcllroy will be at Walkabout bar in Manchester in the upstairs private function room for the event.
Sammy was the last youth player Sir Matt Busby signed for United when he moved from Belfast as a 15-year-old. He made his first team debut as a 17-year-old on derby day and scored in the game which finished 3-3. He spent 13 years at United and only 19 players have made more appearances for the club than him.
Mickey played for United in the late 70s/early 80s and represented the club 110 times. He scored 15 goals and collected an FA Cup runners-up medal in 1979.

The quality is there for all to see so don’t come back that I am slagging the players. But we do need to get control of the injuries and fitness. Only United could still put out a first team of the quality we had v pool with 11 first team regulars out. We will be strengthened and we will press on. But this will be a test over the next 4 EPL games.
We missed Nani too. He would’ve given the relatively inexperienced Kelly a lot more to think about than Park did. Not slagging off Park – obviously since he scored our only goal – but I just think Nani would’ve helped convert our possession into penetration.

I think footballers should be men and shake hands at the off. For one, it is in their contracts to promote the game. Second, it is in the interests of the game for which they are being paid extremely well. Don’t know what message it sends to act like school yard adversaries. This is a business, and the business is sport. As such, it is a business that is sold to families and kids as model for how to do better, or strive to do better even when we let ourselves down.

Injuries are a part of the game, you can’t keep placing blame at the door of luck because we know we make our own luck in this world,personally I’m thinking the medical team and management of the players fitnesses is to blame.
Perhaps players was rushed back to early or maybe some was pushed to hard.
The vidic + Cleverboy injury was unfortunate but Clevs was rushed back and now he’s coming back way later than expected.
TBH, We have done great compared to Titty and only 3 points behind in the league. But look at the shambles of the CL, CC and FA cup. If this sort of below=par performances are acceptable as early as Dec-Jan, then we have no chance of winning the league or deserving it. We have a long way to go from now till May but Im hoping the managers performance aswell the players picks up through this learning period.
Some of the tactics and performances have been worryingly bad in other tournaments which suggest our squad is understrength and not capable of challanging in multiple competitions which is pretty appaling. Utd have their yardstick as measurement which Sir Matt Demanded, at the moment Manchester Utd is falling short of satisfying their fans who paid hard earned cash to go to the CL,CC and FA cup.
