Henrikh Mkhitaryan had a mixed first season at Manchester United. Seemingly falling out of favour with Jose Mourinho after a dreadful display in our 2-1 home defeat against Manchester City, Mkhitaryan was left out of the team for months.

However, when he did play, he often showed sparks of something brilliant and became better trusted by Mourinho.

Mkhitaryan’s season finished on a brilliant note though, after scoring the second goal in our win against Ajax in the Europa League final.

United supporters have been on Mkhitaryan’s side throughout the season, urging Mourinho to play him more often, and have sung his song regularly.

Mkhitaryan has started the pre-season well, scoring two goals in United’s opening two games in the USA, and has revealed how impressed he is that the fans sing his name.

I am very thankful to the fans that they have created such a song. It is a pleasure for me always when I am listening to this song. It makes me have goosebumps. I am very excited.
