Moody Players Won’t Stop Me Picking Correct Team

Sir Alex Ferguson has said the reaction of the players does not stop him dropping players when he believes they need it.

“Players react differently,” said Ferguson. “Some accept it, others find it hard. It depends on the nature of the personalities. But it doesn’t deflect me from picking what I feel is the correct team. You cannot think about how much a player costs when you are picking a team. Once that player is signed it is not as if you can go to the tax man and ask for a rebate if he doesn’t play. Others might not agree with my choice and the recent FA Cup semi-final was a case in point. But I never allow anyone to cloud my judgement. I am very clear-minded about that.”

SAF: “Once that player is signed it is not as if you can go to the tax man and ask for a rebate if he doesn’t play.”

    Classic !

  3. keanesmagichat says:

and your decisons invariably are correct

  4. gotta hate tiny tears says:

and thats why the team on sat isnt
    bart
    wes rio stam heinze
    becks scholes keane sharpe
    ruud rooney

  5. Colbert says:

Well said Fergie. Did you catch that, Carlos?

  6. pipmc05 says:

wat about ronaldo he is never tracking back and was talking baout going to spain not so long ago . . . SAF got rid of beckham and ruud for these same reason becuase they thought they where bigger than the club “their are no stars at Man Utd, Man Utd is the only star”

  7. BazRio#5 says:

That is a true point pipmc05… He actually made a bigger point about leaving that maybe becks did… But Manchester United is bigger than any player!!!

  8. gotta hate tiny tears says:

pipmc05 anybody can get lost in there own hype
ronaldo ruud heinze ronaldo maybe even giggs thats only human

but the thing is Sir Alex will change your way of thinking and keep you grounded

and if he cant your gone

Ronaldo knows where he should be and thats to do with sir alex

i get sick of when anything about anyone doing anything or saying anything on this site people just typr comments about ronaldo when the post has nothing to with the man

  9. pipmc05 says:

i hate ronaldo now. . . i used to happily stand in the stretford end and sing his name but no more. . . he seems to get away with what he wants and lets face it we can do with-out him, when i have we ever put our faith in one player. . . tevez, a player with real heart and a love for this club like each and every fan has, is now being forced out and i can’t see why, i think if we sold ronaldo we wud be fine and maybe even better off we wouldn’t have someone talking about going to spain and we would have a member of the team who would actually track back and help.

  10. pipmc05 says:

its to do with moody players BazRio#5 need i say more

  11. pipmc05 says:

sorry BazRio#5 thats was meant to be too gotta hate tiny tears

  12. BazRio#5 says:

Ah yea no bother… I am on the same boat, Ronaldo is biggest moody player in the squad….

  13. gotta hate tiny tears says:

BazRio#5 thats what you can see on the pitch but what you dont see on the pitch takes a bigger story

    look at nani

he pisses around the pitch like ronaldo and cantona had a kid and it was him

then he plays shit and i dont think he plays well

2 nil down in an important match against spurs where he did nothing but drag evra out of the box to help him out they took him off let a striker do his job they won 5-2 and nani fucks off home in a strop

atleast ronaldo played and scored and provided to the team

he was on the tele on wednesday on his knees bitching and winging and moaning, so he’s called moody. but it could be that the lad gets his legs kicked off him for 90 mins and in that match he didnt win one freekick.

  14. King Eric says:

A sign that the team selection will not be so “weak” tomorrow then.

  15. DK says:

Ronaldo is moody but he delivers. The boy gets kicked non-stop 90 minutes by cheating inferior players. He had to build his body to withstand all this crap that is allowed by the referees in the PL. And he still comes out on top. I can take moody anytime if the alternative is some useless happy player like Fabregas. Winners are usually moody and that’s a fact. Get used to it.

  16. trevor says:

One of the main things Sir Alex has done through out the years has been brave enough to do what he throught was right! Not what others or players wanted!

Can remember countless! His early years for example!

Dismantling a team of quality players!

    Whiteside! Magrath – booted out!
Robson – told to change or he would be out too!
Selling – Ince, Sharpe – Kanchelskis, Butt, Hughes…

Dropping his friend and fellow scot Jim Leighton after a piss poor performance in the 1990 fa cup final!

Had the bollox to stand by eric cantona.

Booted Roy Keane out the door!

with too many more to mention!!

  17. toby says:

Cantona was moody, everyone loves him, but he wasnt tempted by millions and millions of pounds,

Ronaldo however, he’s 24, being offered a huge amount of money to play somewhere else, theres gonna be a bit of thought about having all this money, considering he came from nothing.

Find me a person who wouldnt be tempted?

He’s now realised United is the place to be and he’s said he wants to stay,

why arent people happy with this?

  18. mustevez says:

You are the man ,you’re the fella fergie !
Hey guys what do you think of fergie’s son at Peterborough-two successive promotion ,will be in Championship next year ! Its in the blood …right?
Tevez ,Tevez,Tevez…Should not have opened his mouth at this time of the year when focus is primordial !I just hope whats going outside doesnot affect the team…or may be won’t ! otherwise fergie wont allow it to happen !
This is a huge statement made by the boss today -that line says so much !

  19. corea says:

Ron helped us win 2 EPL’s and a CL enormously and 50% of the writers here think that we could do without him and think of players like Kaka (i adore this player and would’ve wanted him to play for us, Jake knows ;) ) and Ribery.
I love Kaka but i would perefer to play with the player we already have and a player who helped us enormously.

  20. wazza says:

i remember Evra saying this recently he did not like being dropped/rested for the Sund match.even Tevez said the other day, he did not get to play in the big games.but its good rather than some players wanting to warm the benches, lol

  21. misterq says:

Someone, translate this statement in Spanish and mail it over to Carlos. What he did, was so unprofessional.
What amazes me, is that some media and fans, actually defend him, saying he has the right to… WTF! If this was Ronaldo or Berbatov or anyone else, it would’ve been an attitude problem, all of a sudden, and they would’ve been labeled “snob” and all kinds of crap…
I want Tevez out, already. He turns us fans against each other, the prima donna
He needs to go, if can’t accept the rotation principles of Sir Alex

  22. BazRio#5 says:

Ah yea i agree GHTT… i dont disagree, All my point is that he is a moody person…thats all i was sayin…Love what his end product is, the goals, assists, etc… I dont know and you dont know what he is like off the field…

  23. denton davey says:

“what do you think of fergie’s son at Peterborough”

see how he does at a higher level; but Darren is a dark horse candidate. Does this sort of thing ever work ?

    Caesare Maldini –> Paolo Maldini

    Anyone else ?

  24. gotta hate tiny tears says:

BazRio#5 from what i heard in interviews and read online that he is always one of the first at training but always last to leave as he stays behind a do practice on his free kicks and crosses

  25. gotta hate tiny tears says:

toby i agree as ive said before he could be moody type of player on the pitch but off the field it was a different story

look at rooney and rio on the pitch they are 100% focased but off field they seem to forever be takin the piss

  26. trevor says:

Although one thing!! Dont know its the correct team until the final whistle!!!

But if sir alex says its the correct team! Im not going to argue!!

  27. Firestarter says:

If the blame is on the manager, he has this right and no one should ideally interfere.
