It was announced on transfer deadline day that Andreas Pereira will be going back out on loan. Following a successful season with Granada, Pereira will now play for Valencia, who finished 12th last season.

The move has come as a slight surprise, given that all the talk in the summer suggested Pereira was staying this season, but it will be good for his development.

Pereira has also extended his current deal at the club for a further season, meaning it will now expire in 2019. Jose Mourinho has claimed the player has a great future at the club.

Andreas is already a very good footballer. He is a young player with great natural ability and a good attitude towards continuing his development. I have no doubt that he has the potential to be one of the future great players of this club.

Pereira has thanked the manager for his advice and is looking forward to getting more playing time in the season ahead, having played 37 games for Granada last season.

I am delighted that I have extended my contract with this great club. The manager is building a great team here and I want to be part of that as soon as possible. I am going to continue my development at Valencia this season in the hope that I will get plenty of minutes on the pitch. I would like to thank the manager for his help and guidance and for the faith he has shown in me.
