Last night, Nani returned to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving Manchester United for his loan spell at Sporting Lisbon. He played in Portugal’s 1-0 win over Argentina.

There had been rumours that after good form in Portugal that he would be returning to Manchester in January, but the winger doesn’t think that will be the case.

It is good to be back among the fans. I am in good form and I will continue to work hard. I do not know whether I will return to Manchester United in January but I am not saying no.

When asked if he would contemplate a return to United, he responded: “Why not? I went out to play more and get to my best, and it is an opportunity. We will see.”
