Nani: I Want To Be The Man

Nani reckons that he can improve a lot this season following a poor second season with the club.

“I am thinking only about this season. Forget the past. I want to be the man,” said Nani. “I think I have a lot to do to show my best, because I haven’t done that yet. I played a lot of games and did some good things but I need to improve. I want to get to the point where I have the confidence of the manager, the players and the fans.”

Nani is quick to play down any comparisons with Ronaldo, claiming that he is his own player and is improving.

“I know a lot of people compare me with Cristiano but I don’t want that because I am different,” he added. “I want to hear people speaking about Nani and not saying things like ‘look, he does that like Cristiano’. It made me a better player, training and playing with him, but I also learned from the others, from Scholes’ passing, from Giggs’ intelligent movement and from Rooney’s finishing.”

Good interview. I think people give him an unfair rap…hes done nothing to deserve the hatred he gets from some thick fans wishing death upon him and other shit

Hope he does well this season and chips in with some crucial goals and assists.

  2. Rasgullah says:

Rooney isn’t exactly the greatest finisher though …

  3. AlphaRS says:

I actually like Nani and I still think there is a very strong possibility he will be a success at Old Trafford.

I think I am in the minority as alot of fellow bloggers seem to want him to move on. But if he does move on – on the cheap – he will only become a success elsewhere.

Even Ronaldo had 5 sustained seasons on the right wing.
In the beginning Ronaldo was a one trick pony but he developed in to the worlds best. Nani has never had that opportunity.

  4. sw says:

People dont seriously wish death on him. They just wish hed find some consistency and figure out how to play as part of a team. thats not alot to ask. He was a liability last year because he was always giving the ball away. thats why fergie rarely played him. To be fair he has looked a bit better in pre season. I think Valencia is a player he should try to learn from. Direct and intelligent in his play. Nani has the skills but has to prove he has a football brain.

  5. wiuru says:

Its a confidence problem the sooner he resolves it , the better for him and us !

  6. NorwichRed says:

Well i’m still to be convinced to be honest. I’m gonna save my judgements until the end of this season though because i think he can go one of two ways depending on his mental strength.
If he does produce a wonderful season – a bit like Fletch last season – then i think he could be a regular in the 1st team and go on to be a utd players for many years. However, if the pressure gets too much and he has a few bad games…. well, i don’t want to worry about that right now… i’m sure i’ll comment at the time.

UTD, kids, wife. In that order. (I’m single and childless but have my priorities straight).

  7. Dazjoe says:

We want you to be the man as well mate. Big season for Nani, if he doesn’t improve then, with Ljajic, Obertan, and Tosic all joining, he should be shown the door next summer. But he showed enough in his debut season to suggest that he could be a very good winger, he’s quick, skillful, can beat a man and put a cross in, and a good finisher with a great long range shot on him. All the ingredients are there, he has more to his game than Park, he just needs to put it all together.

    THANK YOU FOR 200

  10. gotta hate tiny tears says:

and the man has scored 1 nil

  11. Costas says:

    GET IN!!!

  12. pedroo18 says:

What a goal…If you don’t want to b compared to Ronaldo don’t do that because you will…And we’ll be happy…

  13. Costas says:

I wonder if Fergie will start with Nani and Valencia against lower opposition.

  14. 20legend says:

what a goal by the lad!! get in there son.

  15. Tony Starks says:

Hey people, just watching the game, this diamond of Chelsea is giving us so much space on wide! Hope they keep this formation for the season!

  16. hurr says:

    NANI!!!

  17. Costas says:

Ivanovic is a disaster so far.

  18. Dazjoe says:

Thats not a bad old way to get yourself noticed again Nani son!

  19. Tony Starks says:

Man we’ve started at 100mph.. some great interchanges!

  20. Costas says:

    Berba should have scored!

  21. 20legend says:

for those who knock berba, just look at what he has done this game and shut yer gob for good.

  22. Costas says:

Park and Berba are switching positions a lot

  23. Costas says:

You are right 20legend.He is having a good start. I felt bad for him for the miss.

  24. aig alex is god says:

oh dear.we shud be 2 up.reminding me of the champions league final.but we are looking sharp.hope we continue this form.

  25. Tony Starks says:

    20legend

Don’t think there are many left who knock Berba, he’s been his usual top self so far, but he really should have scored that, don;t you think?

  26. Tony Starks says:

aig alex is god – yeah I was thinking of the Champs League final start as well. Have to say Chelsea look shell shocked so far

  27. Costas says:

Fletch and Carrick are complimenting each other perfectly.

  28. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    god bless the diamond midfield
    it never works

  29. tobbe says:

    @Costas..agree

  30. Dazjoe says:

    GHTT
Too right, leave yourself wide open to attacking wide players. Hope Ancelotti sticks with it all season of course

  31. Tony Starks says:

I think Obi Mikel is the player I hate most in world football!

  32. Costas says:

Thye diamod midfield can’t work easily against teams like United. Benny has to be more assured when the ball reaches his feet.

  33. 20legend says:

Berba should have scored, true. But he has been adding so much to our build up. And the one-twos with Park have been just sublime. He needs to get off the mark soon, but you gotta admit Cech was massive with those saves. I would like to see him play further forward and maybe work more with Wazza. But as far as I am concerned he already has a 8.5/10

  34. jessetto says:

    why ando not in squad???

  35. Tony Starks says:

To be honest Nani has looked the part so far on the left (even though its not his best side), been doing defensive work too. But my concerns are the same – consistency, and making the right decisions. He needs to learn to pick out the right pass sometimes rather than run straight into nowhere.

  36. Manutd forever says:

Oh i’m really liking this new looking United. Nani has so far impressed me a lot(but still needs to improve his decision making) and so has berba who’s looking very aggressive. Foster is looking so nervous . Park is working very hard but his end product is poor . Evra looks getting back to his best. And as for fletcher he is IMMENSE .

  37. Costas says:

I don’t think anything’s wrong with Ando. But then again at United we never hear about the injuries until after the games.

Good first half considering it’s Chelsea at Wembley.

  38. Jocke says:

He deliviers fast, 1-0 with a nice finish!

I think he will have e very good third season at United, he will improve a lot!

  39. Sketch says:

Nani is playing well. Berbatov and Rooney giving the defence trouble.. park helping Oshea at right-back and also attacking well.Fletcher is dominating the middle. Is Lampard even playing?
Foster i must say im not the least bit impressed with him. He looks nervous and just seems to take extra touches instead of either booting it forward or passing it to the defenders. Everytime he recives the ball i have that feeling he is going to do something daft which will lead to a goal.
Hope Rooney can double our lead. We are looking VERY good.

  40. Aha Shake Heartbreak says:

    Why was Fletch hobbling?

  41. cdonyi says:

i say it again..Foster’s biggest weakness his kicking game…people don’t notice but van der saar is like having a sweeper back there…everything is 1 or 2 touch with both feet..maybe its the holland technical foundation…you would think at this level keepers would be required to be good on the ball given the backpass rule….i don’t get it…he looks very amateurish with the ball at his feet…his jusdgement in the air also worries me at times…

  42. Costas says:

Look at Cashley having an arguement with Cech.

  43. Costas says:

    Cheap goal.

  44. 20legend says:

Foster is just having a nervous time. Fergie always praises his kicking. I think he just needs a run of games to get his match sharpness back. Having said that he HAS to do better than that at punching!!!!!

  45. Devilton says:

Foster united #1…don’t make me laugh!

  46. Tony Starks says:

o well.. how can he have a free header in the box?

  47. Yo Ma Piema says:

    Foster is shite today..

  48. Costas says:

We are so dependant on Vidic when it comes to our aerial defending it’s scary.

  49. Tony Starks says:

this is a better test, lets see how the boys deal with this situation now..

  50. Yo Ma Piema says:

for fuck sake Fergie, let Scholes and Giggs handle this chelski scum.

  51. Costas says:

    Owen for the winner perhaps?

  52. Tony Starks says:

Nani should have stayed with Carvallho’s run, lost concentration for a second, if you lose concentration at this level you are likely to get punished

  53. Gudjohnsen says:

Foster looks nervous today, he needs to improve his touch.

  54. aig alex is god says:

i am sayin frm day 1.foster is nt man utd class.just saving a few penalties dosent make u good.his kicking is shocking.fergie buy a decent keeper nw .dnt think we wil win this nw.chlsa are al over us.poor decision making.wid evra blocking drogba he had no need to cme wen goal was scred.

  55. Costas says:

I hope Nani’s shoulder is ok.

  56. wakey says:

How was that not a Foul on Foster. Drogba just clattered him.

And that doesn’t look good for Nani. Bloody Terry, I know he got a bit of the ball but that was rash and from behind yet he gets away with it and Injuries Nani

  57. Yo Ma Piema says:

Ben Foster is not good enough for United, simple as that. Not just because he fucked up allready in this game, but almost every time I see him play he hasn’t made a good impression on me. I don’t even think he is really better dan Kuzsack..

  58. Tony Starks says:

I don’t think that was necessarily a goalkeeping cock up, he took the ball from Dogbreath’s head, but it just happened to fall to the unmarked player.. we should really ask why he was there totally unmarked.

  59. Yo Ma Piema says:

The one thing needed at this stage of the game is experience, therefore bringing scholes and giggsy in should give us the edge

  60. Costas says:

I think it wasn’t a foul because it was Evra primarily who obstructed Foster.

  61. wakey says:

As for Foster, his kicking is usually a strong point and I have to wonder is some of it the fact he is left footed and its being played to him so he has to take another touch and then rush(Plus a couple have bounced up awfully on the pitch, theres certain areas on the Wembley pitch that play less true than a conference pitch )

  62. cdonyi says:

Berbatov is our best player…end of.

  63. Costas says:

Any news on Nano from the commentary? Mine isn’t English!

  64. cdonyi says:

@wakey…for keepers especially you HAVE to be 2-footed…

  65. Gudjohnsen says:

WTF! The ref should have stopped the match because of Evra’s head injury!

  66. Yo Ma Piema says:

Im not saying the goal was all Foster’s fault. But a goal keeper who comes out of his goal has to get the ball, it’s as simple as that. That Carvalho is standing in acres of free space has nothing to do with Foster.

But his footballing skills (the ol’ dutchie van der Sar is the best keeper in the world when it comes to footballing skills) are lacking

  67. Tony Starks says:

great! dirty idiot Ballack! how was that not a foul?

  68. Yo Ma Piema says:

    FUCKING HELL MATE

  69. Sketch says:

    WHAT THE FUCK MAN ?!
WHY DIDNT THEY KICK THE BALL OUT!
    BALLACK THAT SCUM.

  70. Yo Ma Piema says:

    foster should have saved it…

  71. Devilton says:

Ben Foster is simply not good enough.

Sorry, but he is fucking not good enough!!!

Sort it out Fergie. The boy is not ready for the #1 and he probably won’t be for another couple of years.

  72. Gudjohnsen says:

    Ps: Ballack is a prick!

  73. Costas says:

I want to murder this referee.

  74. Yo Ma Piema says:

    fukin chelski skum

  75. Tony Starks says:

    I want to murder Ballack!

  76. Sketch says:

When it was fucking Ballack on the ground they stopped play even when we were attacking.. yet when its Evra they get to carry on.
    Fuck Chelsea. Cheating Bastards

  77. Yo Ma Piema says:

    COME ON UNITED

  78. Costas says:

Ballack was being a cunt as usual and the Chelsea players didn’t have to throw it out. It was the ref’s responsibility to stop play.

  79. Tony Starks says:

Welcome to the new season, with all it’s cheating players and useless ref’s..

At least there was none of that to worry about in preseason!

  80. Yo Ma Piema says:

finally the oldies are coming on

  81. Gudjohnsen says:

I have high hopes for Foster but I must admit, today he’s been shite. Looks very nervous and lacks confidence. Hopefully he’ll improve since we need to use him because of Van Der Sar’s injury.

  82. Gudjohnsen says:

Why are they booing Evra? The Man Utd supporters should be booing Ballack for that dirty foul…

  83. Costas says:

Lets face it. No one wants us to win the title this season. And i usually don’t believe in conspiracy theories.

  84. Tony Starks says:

Come on man, bloody Lampard is always in acres of space, sort it out guys..

Thats it EVRA!! My best moment of the game!!!!

  85. 20legend says:

chris foy is a twat. i want to hear his explanation for not blowing a foul against that cunt ballack for a blatant elbow in evra’s face. respect, my arse.

  86. Yo Ma Piema says:

    WHAATTTT

  87. Yo Ma Piema says:

    GERMAN FUCK

  88. Costas says:

    Didn’t Evra get the ball?

  89. Gudjohnsen says:

What the fuck is wrong with this ref!? That was not a yellow card on Evra, that was a good tackle, he took the ball! Good play Evra, Ballack deserves to get tackled some more…

  90. aig alex is god says:

we shud nt have stopped playin.ya it was a foul bt we shud have continued.foster is shit.he shud have stopped that easily.let this fire burn wen the season starts.fuck off ballack.u fucking cunt.hope he never wins the champions league or world cup or euros.bt i m happy wid the performance.shud start the sdason well.berba has been gr8 as has fletch.evra is booked bt he won the ball.chris foy is a partial asshole.bastard.

  91. m1ke says:

    ballack=major cunt

  92. Costas says:

And Berbatov got cautioned for stopping a free kick! Foy you cunt

  93. Tony Starks says:

Yeah I’m happy with the overall performance too.. just hope the ref doesn’t do something stupid and get the red card out for another nothing challenge

  94. Rollins says:

Chris foy is an absolute buffoon!

  95. Costas says:

What did Owen get a yellow for?

  96. Yo Ma Piema says:

valencia is not having the greatest the game as well..

  97. Tony Starks says:

I don’t think they stopped playing, Chelsea just hit us on the break – they could have put the ball out, but I don’t blame them for not doing that. It’s just that Ballack took our player out and the ref saw it but decided to let play go on..

  98. Gudjohnsen says:

We’ve looked bad in attack in the second half. We need some creativity…

  99. Yo Ma Piema says:

Sure thing Tony it isnt chelski’s fault. it is the ref’s responsibility but then again it doesnt show great sportmanship..

  100. Costas says:

I don’t blame them for being cunts either. I am blaming the referees who are condoning their actions.

  101. aig alex is god says:

I never have any confidence in Foster and always thought Kuszcak is better… Foster is just overrated by the media because England is lacking a good keeper… He might have some good games though but it’s normal for Premier League keeper…

  116. Costas says:

Did Giggsy create that goal? Great play by him!

  117. Tony Starks says:

That was nice… after giving the ref a absolute telling off, alex shook his hand! what a guy!

Watch it SAF. You will probably get a ban for talking to the cunt.

  121. Yo Ma Piema says:

Oh well. Hey guys, they had to win one shoot out against us. But they never beat us. They played with 12 men the whole match and they didn’t beat us.

  152. Jack says:

we won 2-1..dont care what anyone says…how come when ballack was down and we was about to score the refree stopped but when evra was down he let them play on

  153. Mezza says:

ill add to the circus… gotta laugh at the Mac bage…. cant sink any lower

  154. Sketch says:

    We lost :(
Fuck you ref, thanks for being so fucking bias you cunt.
ballack should rot in hell that fucking pansy.
Thats the last trophy them scums will win!!
Wheres VDS when we need him. I thought Berbatov’s penatly was the worst i have seen in my life-time. Well Evra’s just beat it. Feel bad for him though getting booed by united fans. They should be booing Lampard and Ballack.
    Why didnt Rooney take one?

  155. Gudjohnsen says:

Why are players like Owen, Scholes, Valencia and Rooney behind a defender in the penalty shootout lineup? I think it’s strange!

But at least we didn’t lose to Chelsea in the game itself, I can take a penalty shootout loss in this competition. We won the one that mattered in Moscow!

Ps: I really miss Van Der Sar!

  156. 20legend says:

That twat Chris Foy should have got the MoM award. He won it for them. Cunt. Except for Foster and Evra’s pen and Nani’s injury, been a good day. Fuck, that sounds bloody awful. Another injury crisis.

  157. Devilton says:

Ahh well. At least Rooney scored, which will hopefully start him on a run. Not too pleased about the second half. Once again we wilted to a degree and the likes of Foster have yet to convince me. I am frankly worried about his chances because he has done nothing to show me he is a top keeper.

  158. Mezza says:

comm shield means shit….. i hope they keep playing with bigmac on their shoulders… what a embarrassment….

  159. Costas says:

Guys, VDS is not here and he won’t be for another months. We have to get used to that. Foster has never played against the big 4 with a United shirt. Penalties haven’t been going our way for 3 shoot outs now.

The positive that we can take from this game is that United are very spirited.

The negative is that without Vida we are struggling in the air.

  160. Costas says:

Any news on Nani? I hope it’s not a dislocation or anything like that.

  161. rob taylor says:

evra wasnt booed by united fans, it was clearly the chelsea fans. Why the fuck would we boo him?

  162. Macheda is GOD says:

  163. Mezza says:

let me hear it again…. “foster will come through”… hehe….the boy got no idea…..

  164. wazza (Bezi) says:

FFS, Chris Foy should be demoted to League 2

  165. Sketch says:

Foster has been shit all day. He only made ONE good save. Kuscack was very good against Valencia so i would put him in goal against Birmingham.
    The commentary is killing me.
With their very bias comments like.
‘Chelsea were the better team and showed once again their great team spirit’
WTF? We were the ones who were completely robbed and had to equalise in the last minute.

  166. redmojo says:

Didn’t look dislocated. Foster is scaring me a bit. But this game has me excited about the season for sure.

  167. theboogeyman says:

It doesn’t matter for us,it’s a big deal for them.Fuck it,we’ve got bigger fish to fry.

  168. mikeyg2310 says:

I know it is only Community Shield, but surely after missing against Bayern Evra should have been nowhere near the first 5. Roll on next Sunday, hopefully a winning start against Birmingham

  169. craigni says:

from wot ive seen today we have nothing to fear this season, chelsea hid behind the referee the hole game so fuck all new there, ive 1 word for those chelsea cunts and thats MOSCOW…….

  170. theboogeyman says:

Birmingham wouldn’t want to draw with us.The last 2 teams who played us on opening day and drew got relegated.

  171. trevor says:

Just in from the pup lads!!

Feel so hard dun by its unreal! Evra getting elbowed in the face, & Lampard scoring from an unmarked position which evra should have been in!

Giggs & Evra penalties so softly struck! Come on lads!” Lessons learnt!

i keep telling myself that it doesnt matter about the comunity sheild, its good experience when penalties mater.

Although how much more experience does giggs need to take a penalty??

Just puting today as one of them things.

    Positives

    Rooney put himself about well
    Flow of football was good
    WE created good chances
Looked reasonably solid at the badk

    Negativces

Foster – Looked nervious at times. Clearences needs to be worked on, got caught out for Carvalios goal!! … Time will tell!!
Refereee – SHould come out as a Chelsea fan!.. Evra was asulted and you failed to blow the whistle! Shame on you!!…….. Why not just give chelsea a goal you cunt!

  172. Micky says:

The ref is off his fucking head

Ballack comes on, two minutes later he goes down holding his ribs, ref stops play.

Now I thought the ref should only stop play if it’s a head injury?

Then Evra goes down clutching his face – play on?

What the fuck is that all about?

  173. trevor says:

Also with regards to this post. Nani wants to be the man!

You need to learn how to be a team player lad!

    Pass the fucking ball!
Whip the cross in when you can!, You dont have to pulll it back every time!

LEarn these two simple things and you might and i say might be an old trafford great!

Continue and you will be in the same mold as kleberson!!!(not cause he was a poor player but just cause it didnt work out for him!)

  174. cantona7 says:

i dont give a damn to the result. But the ref was… the only word i can say is shocking. shockingly ……

  175. theboogeyman says:

Just visited that diabolical cunt of referee’s wikipedia page.Read the last line. It’s been updated about today’s performance.

  176. trevor says:

    @Micky

You forgot to mention evras fine tackle which resulted in Evra getting a yellow card

What the fuck was all that about!

Evra gets the ball .. No question!!

He gest the player which he has no option to pull out, as of the direction that both players are traveling in…

    Awful decision!……….

I was shocked by the referee in this match,,

Both sets of players played in a professional mannor and looked fit for the start of the season.

Shame we were playing with a sunday league referee!!

  177. trevor says:

One other thing for the admins of this site.

Why is there not a thread about every game??

Should we not have a thread created for every match?…………

At leats it wold give a board where we could discuss pre match & after match and stop other threads getting invaded??

  178. Sketch says:

Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson on Chelsea’s second goal:
“The referee clearly saw the foul, he’s (Ballack) clearly elbowed him (Evra) in the face. I’m disappointed because he’s stopped the game twice before when he thought there were serious injuries. That incident cost us the game really. Yes, we have a grey area with play stopping – we’ve said it time and again.”

    Could also be transalted into

” That sad exuse of a referee cost us the game, Ballack that fucking scum elbowed evra in the face. How many times has the game been stopped because of chelsea players whilest united were on the attack? That referee is a fucking joke. He should never be allowed to referee again”

  179. hurr says:

What a disheartening way to lose an unimportant match. Is the ref trying to top Ovrebo or something?

  180. ash says:

i am not that much dissapointed. at full time we were 2-2. we played a decent bit of football and for me better than chelsea .
the kicktakers were awful , evra the guy who a week ago missed a penalty.
disapointed with valencia. but i know he would do be a hit and do welll.
    hope nani is ok.

  181. Mr Santos says:

Anyone remember Berbatov’s penalty against Everton in the F.A. Cup Semi Final? And how he got slaughtered for it? Let’s see who slaughter’s Evra for his even worse penalty.

  182. Mezza says:

    @trev
“lets get behind foster lads”….. thats all ive heard from ya trev, no disrespect mate… but ya dreamin atm… give him time…..but as i and many with me said before, hes not ready…. and pls dont slug us just coz we dont think hes up to the job….

mate i would have ripped into ur ass after reading some of ur recent posts about being ” true supporters” when we vented our opinion for foster…i guess in the end its not worth the time..

if ya wearin a bridle with flaps its ur own problem buddy….

all in all was a good game….. means shit absolutely shit how the season will unfold, so lets just sit back and enjoy the ride ;)

  183. trevor says:

    @Mezza

Didnt say i was not behind him was giving my opinion of the negatives & postives in the game!

Some people go over the top and say he is not good enough for united, he is shite.. I didnt go there!

My Honest opinion of today is that his clearances were poor & needed working on and he got caught out for the equalizer!

Time will tell how this effects him or what he is capable of!

I could understand if i was slating him and saying he was shite with regards to you pulling me up about my comment! With regards to ripping into me, there is nothing wrong in stating the facts or negatices and positives in a particular game.

  184. trevor says:

One thing i had joy at pointing out to a chelsea fan is that. We are without ronaldo and have 80 mil in the bank and their lot was lucky to beat us!

Although i dont like losing a game i can accept loosing a game to a briliant goal, quality build up, unbelevalbe finish…

I find it hard to swallow when we loose to a mistake or a refereeing decision.

For me The ref screwed us for chelseas second goal.. I think foster got caught out for the second goal but it will add to his experience.

I felt today we needed a good performance for foster & a united win. I feel we needed the win more than they did for the season coming up.

We need to put to bed the Ronaldo saga and Foster needs some confidence to start our season

  185. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

well that was fucking disappointing. Ballack was a twat. Always forget how much i hate him till i see his smug ugly face. Noticed that everytime he got the ball after that so called challenge he avoided all the united players, until evra tackled him. Wat a fucking tackle ha! Ref, bag of shit. Foster was poo. Really wanted him to do well and never rated tomasz but fingers crossed i’ll be wrong again! Thankfully, chelski looked shit. And the season starts now. By the way city are wank

  186. Kash says:

    @ Trevor

This is the blog, on the forum you’ll see topics created for every match –> http://www.republikofmancunia.org/

  187. trevor says:

    @Kash

I have been going to the home page every day for the topics….. THought all the important ones were posted on here!

THe one you posted needs an account and all. On here yiou can jsut post without siging in!

  188. manutdchampions2008 says:

today has completed my assesment of what is there to come.

man utd – have far better balance and know how what to do in games and they have a bigger and better squad. and all the areas of the team united are more complete.

liverpool – so many problems and relying on 2 certain players and all 3 areas of their team is injury prone. their backline is so unbalanced along with their midfield.

chelsea – they have brought in a certain manager that thinks his diamond system will work and it will be scolari mark 2 all over again. they lack balance and width. and they look older and slower

arsenal – worrying times ahead, they have no spine their best player is mentally drained and their weak defence and midfield will be their downfall if they sign no one.

  189. trevor says:

    Lads,

In honesty i think we are more than capable of competing with the Top teams this sason..

Where i think we will struggle is against the lower teams…

You all know the games i am talking about.. THe ones simular to blackburn in recent years where freidal was immence and with 10 men behind the ball we struggled to break them down!

I hope and have every faith we will do it,, just have to wait to be proved!!

  190. Tony Starks says:

    UPDATE

Nani has dislocated shoulder and will be out for a while, so says BBC website..

  191. manutdchampions2008 says:

its no suprise he is out he was holding his ar in his shirt like a cast anyway

  192. Its in my blood says:

Unfortunately, as Tony Starks said it appears to be the case. SAF has said that they weren’t able to put it back( Nanis shoulder).
    Injuries mounting up!

  193. Costas says:

It’s what i was afraid of as soon as i saw Nani like that! Shit! That means about 3 months out. That leaves Valencia, Park and Giggs as our recognised wingers. I wouldn’t put Tosic in that category. Giggs rarely plays as a winger these days as well. Nani’s injury is a worse blow that losing the fucking shield.

  194. Mezza says:

    @trev

i think you got me wrong mate… (again)

my post was reflecting the replys you have made in other topics regarding foster, where you have questioned the loyalty of other members of this blog… which i took as a offense.

    ie: http://therepublikofmancunia.com/time-for-foster-to-prove-himself/

the fact that Foster is not cut for #1 has been proven time and time again, yet you seem to cling onto a blind hope thats hes the bees knees at the current time.

with VDS being with us for the last season (?) maybe we should look towards kuszcak or another keeper that can command the sticks.

all i ask is that you keep an open mind about our team and the game, in saying that i know where you are coming from, coz ive seen many slagging fergie for not making the “big”signings” with all the cash we made from ronaldo sale…

to be honest with ya i hope all of that cash goes on to playing the glazes debts, as we have a strong squad already, and with fergie at helm we have nothing to fear.

so lets just keep this blog to “opinions” of ppl that love the game and club to express them selfs, no need for the negativity you have started.

  195. Costas says:

By the way, this always happens when we lose a talismatic player. When Cantona retired, Keane succeded him as club captain, only to miss the whole of the next season. When Beckham left, Solskjaer who was considered his short term replacement got injured soon afterwards. I think Fergie was counting on Nani until Valencia settled at the club.

  196. trevor says:

    @Mezza

    Time will tell!!

For me any player who plays in any position can only be judged properly agfter 10 games in concession!

The majority of players needs that extra bit of confidences to settle.

my point on the other thread is to fucking give the guy a chance.

Too many arsehole supporters are too quick to jump down the players throat and not give them a chance.

I think you are wrong to critisise me for picking up on Fosters performance today when i was stating the facts. Maybe you are trying to prove me as a hypicrite i dont fucking now! I could understand if i had said he wasnt good enough but i havent!

I hope foster will come good…. I personaly will be giving him a chance

At the end of the day he didnt have a convincing performance & has alot that he can take with im and build on!!

My comments always come from the heart and if i feel fergie got the tactics wrong or something i would say that it didnt work… But it wouldnt mean i didnt have faith iin him…. Its always easy looking back in hinsight!

  197. trevor says:

    @Mezza

With regards to the thread http://therepublikofmancunia.com/time-for-foster-to-prove-himself/
You say you took offence.. Where did i mention you or highlight you in this thread.

Maybe you are feeling guilty and maybe do not back the players as much as you should i dont know!!! You tell me!

  198. trevor says:

    @ Mezza

I missed your last comment..”so lets just keep this blog to “opinions” of ppl that love the game and club to express them selfs, no need for the negativity you have started.”

what the fuck are you on about you prick! Negativity i started? All i said you jumped up peace of shit was my opinion ..

For me! Foster did not clear well
He got caught out for chelseas goal..

If you can argue otherwise then state your case.. If you cant then go and put your head between your own legs and kiss your own arse you prick!

  199. Kash says:

With Nani out with a dislocated shoulder i think SAF might start his shopping again :D

  200. trevor says:

    @Kash.

I dont think he will start shopping..

I think he might use Macheda in left wing for a while or maybe we will see more of cleverly .. He did bloddy well against valencia!

  201. Kash says:

Good point but i think Welbeck’s ahead of Macheda if your talking about wingers.

  202. trevor says:

    @Kash,

I would have said the same althoguh in pre season macheda played there and looked good…

For me i would like to see either to give them a chance or split the chances..

Nani will be a real loss as i was looking forward to see what he could do giving the chance..

One other posibility would be Anderson.. He played ont he wing for porto althogh i really dont think he would be as effective as a Centre Midfielder

  203. Nectarine says:

I think so too, Trevor. Anderson was complete shit when he played left wing at Anfield last season.

I guess we’ll just have to buy Ribery after all:-p

  204. unitedgirl16 says:

    why was berbatov booked!?!

  205. trevor says:

I dont know if ribery is the answer. if that hapens nani would never be given his chance..

All i know is i have faith in sir alex!!!

  206. ChaosRed says:

    Calm down lads

Well this match just prove to me we need a creative central midfielder. And we need another winger now. Carrick and fletcher created nothing, Carrick is still very suspect in his position in the team, he is far to light weight pedestrian and even his passing play is overrated, he rarely puts in balls behind defences, Players like scholes Lamplard and gerrard know what passes they are going to make before they pass the ball, and carrick is always stuck with the ball at his feet looking around when he recieves it. he doesn’t seem to want the ball never asking for it. Cant wait for hargreaves to return.

  207. Costas says:

Nope. Fergie will go with either Welbeck or Fletcher with Tosic as his back up choices. There are solutions, but they are not first class. On today’s form, you can’t take Fletcher out of CM. But there is no reason to panic buy i think. I wish Obertan offered another choice!

  208. cdonyi says:

I have to say I was very impressed with Fletcher..this game confirmed to me that he would have made a difference in Rome…he closes everything down and is tireless…Hargo who? As for Foster I hate to say it but he needs to go out on loan, and play every week in the Premiership and prove himself..we can’t afford to have him learn at United because titles are easily won or lost by keepers saves/gaffs. There may be a great keeper in there but he just isn’t ready…he should be playing 5-a-side every day to improve his touch…

  209. Tony Starks says:

By the way, I think Welbeck will be going to the U20 World Cup in September, so that just about rules him out of United action for quite a while..

  210. Mezza says:

    @trev

hehe mate i would love to have a beer with ya, would make for a quite interesting night (in a good way)

i have very high hopes for Foster, but as it is hes not producing the goods.
i just felt that you are being to harsh on other bloggers.

We all love the team, and thats what what it is.. a “team” if i feel that Foster is not cut for the #1, and ill say it, …. maybe those posts should have been directed at ya in the other topic, but i guess i didnt get a chance :P

all in all we have a squad that will deal quite well in PL, and im confident that we will be singing 19 next year.

Regarding your comment on supporters not giving a chance other players and signings….i wouldnt worry much… just listen to your heart and you be fine, theres alot of kids on this blog that like to vent their opinion about the club, and tell you what…. most of em are bunch of dickheads to me. all it matters to me is the club, and opinions of ppl like Costas/GHTT/Micky/aig/20legend/wazza/king eric/goose… fark way tooo many to mention…. sry if i missed ya… you all are pure united … (oh and scott…i guess hes gotta fit somewhere lol :P )

i guess you gotta care what you care about ;) keep it real trev :)

  211. Tony Starks says:

Regards to keeper, we were linked for a while with Asenjo who went to Atletico this year, wish he had bought him cos he has looked impressive everytime I’ve seen him play.. Anyway that’s just a useless afterthought now

  212. fooart says:

time to look for an option sir fergie…
    Silva…
    Young…
maybe Damien Duff or Gutierrez…Cheaper yet reliable…Pedersen maybe..

Hell…if beckham cheap why not?? give him the same clause as owen…it will be lovely…

but..in fergie we trust…wellbeck tosic petrucci cleverly gibson…we have alot of youngster to experiment to…theres no panic… : )

  213. Tony Starks says:

Who’s panicking? After this game I for one am quite optimistic about our prospects this year (just worried about keeper though – it’s such a key position)

  214. Costas says:

The season will be ok. But it will be an uphill battle in the first couple of months. After VDS and Nani return and Valencia and Owen settle in, we will be in a better shape. But for now, i expect one or two scraps along the way. But we have become very spirited. We have yet to be defeated remember.

  215. The Continental says:

Chris Foy should just go back to do what he does best:
    Football Comic Strips.

  216. fooart says:

i dont know if evra worse penalty is intentional or not…but it was an insult to rooney determination and spirit for the second goal…

  217. Micky says:

The thing with Evra’s penalty is that it’s always 50/50.

If he had smacked it and blazed it over, he wouldn’t come under any criticism. So why should he if he tries to place it?

If the keeper goes the wrong way, goal. If not, he seems to be lambasted.

Why? No matter how hard he kicks it, it’s still only a 50/50 chance of going in.

    @fooart

I can’t believe you’d question Evra’s determination and spirit, he’s been one of our best players for ages now and always works his little bollocks off.

Those who spent the next few days in a bad mood because we lost aren’t real Man Utd fans in my opinion. Real United fans won’t give a shit (for long anyway) because the loss of Nani is far worse than losing a tarted-up friendly match on penalties.

  218. Mezza says:

    @Tony
“Who’s panicking? After this game I for one am quite optimistic about our prospects this year (just worried about keeper though – it’s such a key position)”

well said mate, just watch trev jumpin on ur back…..

we still up for that beer trevy? …

  219. Mezza says:

    @Micky

im guilty of not reading every comment, but i do agree what you say about pat, ffs its just a penalty …. i guess all the ppl that have been slaggin pat havent taken a penalty under preassure with czech in the goal, or any keeper for that the fact. Penalty is a penalty, there are plenty well taken when they go in…. but still its a penalty. :)

PS: keep it up terv, you doin well ;)

  220. jamos9 says:

Park; why did he start? he’s pants and would struggle to get a game at FC United to be brutally honest. He’s supposed to be a winger….not a RB or whatever it is he does maybe taking up marathon running could be an idea as he covers some ground without really doing anything else. I understand him as a squad player and maybe playing as DM which he did fairly well for PSV, just dont get why we’ve made him a winger when he’s rubbish at crossing, beating a man, scoring goals and assisting all pre – requisites for a United winger.

I hope Nani’s not out for too long as I cant take no more of Parks ineptitude. Fabio’s a fullback but has much better quality than Park – says something that.

    Rant over.

  221. fooart says:

no…i dont judge evra overall contribution on the day..he been marvellous shitting on ivanovic…
just that penalty concern me is it intentional or not…guess u were right micky…
no arguing evra was still an will forever be the best left back wearing united shirt…

aside from penalty and ref decision…we totally dominated the game…
unlucky nani…when the world is upon him this kind of injury happen…
when he run pass carvalho and terry i thought wow…ronaldo never done that before…get well soon nani…
    berbatov was fantastic as usual…
    rooney…ballon d’or next season…
owen position sense is marvellous…hope the first goal is around the corner…
foster…shaky performance…maybe a lot of pressure burden him…the england press…the cappelo…can he fit the vds glove…gave him more game and with vida coming back we could have better foster performance…

  222. RJ says:

Silly question, but how long does a dislocated shoulder take to heal? (On average)

  223. kel says:

Before the start of the pre seasons, i am quite worry about him. After seeing his performance, i notice he had improve his decision making, passing, holding on the ball well, penetrate well into defence and this is indeed very good. I’m impressed with him and also the community shield match, he did brilliant. But now, he is injured again. This is surely going to spoil hos tempo, and fitness again.

  224. trevor says:

    @Mezza

That would be an interesting Pint for sure!

  225. kiko_mac says:

    @rj

i dislocated my shoulder a few years ago and i wasnt aloud to do anything sporting activities for 6 weeks but depending on Nani’s injury it could vary from a couple of weeks to a couple of months! all depends!

    @fooart

you cant say that evra’s missed his penalty intentionally, its all about the pressure, how would you feel stepping up in front of thousands in a stadium, with all eyes on you? i’d know i would be bricking it! at least he had the balls to stand up and say i will take one!

I dont honestly think we dominated the game! The first 30 minutes, we ripped them to shreds but after that we took our foot of the gas.

Overall i think we lacked that bite in midfield, when chelsea were in their final third, there was not one of our midfielders that tried to close them down but that could be the fact that chelsea were playing the diamond formation and crowding out our midfield and the fact that any closing down would expose gaps!

Its tough on Nani though, i dont get why so many United supporters are on his back! I have always liked him when he has been playing. He might be greedy at times but so was Ronaldo and last year Nani hardly featured so obviously that will knock his confidence! At least Nani tracks back!

I have come to the conclusion though that the majority of the fans that knock Nani are the same ones looking rid of fletcher, berbatov and o’shea and looking us to buy ribery, aguero and the golden cow!

  226. Costas says:

RJ that’s the key question. I think that it depends. I you can just have therapy, you can ge back within 2-3 weeks. But if you have to go under the knife, it’s probably 3 months. Mind you that i am not a doctor. It’s what i have gathered from my experience as a fan. I hope Nani can get it fixed pronto.

  227. King Eric says:

I am VERY positive about the season as this looked like the United team of old. Great team spirit and refusing to give up till the final whistle. Why the fuck are people still questioning our midfield. Fletch was fucking immense and I thought him and Carrick bossed it in the first half. Essien didn’t get in to it and was left caught once or twice and fat Frank I don’t think touched it. Rooney is gonna be a star this season and Berba was absolute class for the most part.

Disgraceful behaviour by Ballack……………………again. Why the fuck did Berba get booked but not Carvalho and Ballack?

As for Foster I thought he was awful today apart from the second half save but I am sure he will improve with each game. Just needs to build his confidence up and not flap.

Gutted for Nani. As Martin Tyler said “it’s another portugese player, playing on the wing for Manchester United who has cut in and unleashed a screamer”. Looking great so far.

We’ll keep the Red flag flying high!

  228. King Eric says:

“I have come to the conclusion though that the majority of the fans that knock Nani are the same ones looking rid of fletcher, berbatov and o’shea and looking us to buy ribery, aguero and the golden cow!”

    Spot on Kiko Mac!

  229. Costas says:

The team will be full of fight this year, no doubt about that. But we can’t just keep gifting goals away. And something must be done about our penalty selections.

  230. RJ says:

How did the injury come about by the way? I didn’t get a chance to watch the match.

  231. Tony Starks says:

“I have come to the conclusion though that the majority of the fans that knock Nani are the same ones looking rid of fletcher, berbatov and o’shea and looking us to buy ribery, aguero and the golden cow!”

Can’t say I agree with the above statement. I don’t think majority of the fans that criticise Nani want him to be replaced. Maybe some do but not the majority. Most of us have seen the ability he has from the first day he came here. We are just waiting for him to add to his game the ability to make to right decisions at the right time, so that he can move on to the next level.

He did not develop as planned last season – otherwise he would have got more minutes on the pitch – no?

But I was/am full of hope this season for him, he is not in another Portuguese player’s shadow, its unfortunate with this injury but it’s not the end of the world

  232. Costas says:

I tell you what, seeing that Lampard goal over and over again makes my blood boil. And it happens right before Foy’s eyes! And you have that rag the Sun call the Chelsea players heroes. Well, i didn’t see one of our players chase Foy around like the “heroes” did last May with the Norwegian. Chelsea and Foy can shove that Shiled wherever they want. They did NOT beat United today. I hope our players relaize what they are up against this year. The ABU brigade is going to be worse than ever.

  233. Gudjohnsen says:

How long will Nani be out? A month? Longer?

Now the Silva rumors will probably start all over again…

  234. manutdchampions2008 says:

    Tony Starks
I still think aguero is a sensational player that will not change.

    Mezza
so foster did not save the second goal which should have been our free kick. ironically this was the same ref that stopped play when ballack went down. foster is a quality keeper he has great handling yes he looked nervous taking 1 to many touches but he is miles better than kuszszec.

  235. manutd4eve says:

we all know that match have been robed from us by ref. even if we played 100% possesion chelsea would have won it coz ref. so dont loose faith in our team we came back to play with 11 man against 12 where 1 man(ref )have the upperhand. we did drew means that was a fantastic result, i am soooooo confident we will beat any team in EPL for sure unless if the ref doesnt play for opposite side. if a team get away with these sort of red carded fouls(very clearly) surely they will win. we cant do anythink about it. ref was awfull. FA should panish refs making poor one side decisions like this rather than asking us to respect them( cunts hates our success) not only one decision, most of the decisions. at last IF I WAS THERE FRONT OF THAT SHIT FOY I WOULD SPIT ON HIS FACE.

  236. 20legend says:

A little something that always cheers me up after a bad game.

    Everybody now..

    Build a bonfire..
Put the Scousers on the top..
    Put Shitty in the middle..
And then burn the fucking lot.

    Cheers

  237. theboogeyman says:

lol 20legend,I think we needed that.

  238. King Eric says:

According to Ian Ladyboy(mans) report in the Mail “Nani was seen leaving the stadium with two bags under his arms, so doesn’t look like he will be away long”.

Hopefully it is true and he will be back for Brum game. Does anyone else think he looks to have developed more muscle this close season?

  239. wazza (Bezi) says:

@King Eric : i feel Nani might be out for a month but hope not so. you still have the habit of getting up in the middle of the night and posting comments, lol

  240. Jayunited4eva says:

hope its not too long.he’s gonna go for the scan soon,so i’ll keep my fingers crossed.most definitely he’ll miss the start of the season.

and yea.he’s building those muscles man.He looks big, almost bursting out of the shirt.hope he gets a good number of goals this season

I felt we did great.with people talking about how’s life at United gonna be after Ronaldo,i think it’s great. We’ve had goal threats from nearly everywhere, creating chances-but just not putting them in goal.Missed chances.Agree with Sir Alex, absolutely should have killed the game in the first half. But oh well. And the defeat is overshadowing Rooney’s goal.It was awesome, awesome because there was only what,30 seconds left on the clock?Craziness.

And was it me,or was our midfield passing in the first half almost impeccable. The passing was sharp and a joy to watch.

Well i’m glad all the excitement and heart attacks are back,it had been a long time since i screamed and banged my chest and broke my coffee table.

  241. KVN says:

Hi guys here’s my thoughts about the game and how i see the season panning out.

i went to the game @ wembley – must say that the United supporters were a lot more vocal than the chelsea rent boys were. and no United fan was booing Evra. here’s my observations

Nani – had an excellent 45 minutes and up until his shoulder injury. he looked more confident going forward and took his goal very well. i can only recall one missed pass. the others were to United players and he linked really well with Evra. i think that could be the combination SAF goes with. it reminded me of the days with GNev and Beckham. Evra and Nani linked really well together.

Berbatov – had a good game and linked well with Rooney, i thought he could have got a goal (to make it 2-0) but cech saved but the fact that he created the opportunity bodes well for the future. he also looked a lot fitter and is intelligent in his play. he definitely needs to play further up rather than dropping into midfield.

Rooney – what more can i say about this lad that hasn’t been said. he was alert and his passing is like paul scholes! some of his cross field balls were pin point. he always found a united player and his back-to-goal play was excellent. he took up good positions too. fantastic goal as well.

foster – his kicking and distribution is good. the thing that i noticed was when the ball was passed back to him, on two or three occasions he dithered and the chelsea player is closing him down – he panics and that’s when he nearly made a mistake which could have cost us a goal.
the other thing for their first goal, he challenged Drogba for the ball but didn’t get a good clearance. two things i make – he isn’t a shit goalkeeper as some fans think. if capello and saf thought that would he be playing for england and united? NO! they see him train everyday and know how good he is. they are not fools. they know a lot more about him than us, and we have to trust saf on this one.
the second point about foster: he was rusty, confidence is low and he realizes that THIS IS HIS CHANCE to claim the No 1 jersey for both england and united. so from a psychological viewpoint there’s extra pressure on him and i just thought he was nervous. it’s like when you start a new job and you’ve got a lot of responsibility, plus you have to build relationships with your colleagues. he needs games to feel comfortable and his confidence will grow. then we’ll see why he’ll be united’s and England’s no 1. i think for a long time he’s been told “you’ll be uniteds no 1″ and has played bit parts for united as VDS cover. now, he IS the main man. and all eyes are on him, so there’s a big difference between being a cover man and the main man. this is the final step for foster and as VDS used to be the main man for united and took that responsibility really well, it’s now fosters turn. and he has to deal with this as it’s his chance.

Evra – excellent game (apart from pen miss) linked well with Nani and got some beautiful tackles in. why he was booked – i don’t know. the ref was Chelsea’s 12th man that’s for sure. didn’t realise how quick Evra is.

Flecther – excellent game up until he got taken off, i think he got tired a bit. but he will be a key player for us this season.

Evans and Rio – thought they played well together and handled drogba and anelka very well. in my opinion we didn’t miss vidic. and this new defensive partnership can only get better.

Oshea, Carrick, Park – average games, Park took up good positions but his finishing was poor. Carrick didn’t really see much of him, needs to dominate more of the game and impose himself as he has the ability.

Fabio da Silva – very quick and strong too. he will get loads of games for United this season.

Giggs and Scholes – thought saf played his cards right. bringing these two legends on with 15-20 mins to go will be good for united. and we saw that with Giggs lovely though ball for Rooney to score.

defensively – the goals we conceded were soft especially the first. even before foster went for it, we dithered with it around the 12 yard box, instead of clearing it away. so we’ll need to tighten up at the back and not get exposed as we did when chelsea came forward a lot more in the 2nd half.

overall? chelsea didn’t do anything that concerned me and i think we can look forward to another good successful season.

  242. TH14 says:

I always supported United in Chelski v United matches. And I hoped Nani will score twice or Valencia at least once, yesterday. But it was Foy who cost you a complete match.

I am not Man United fan, but I really, really, really hate Chelski and their arrogant players. Anyways, they celebrated yesterday as they won a Champions League or EPL. Priceless!!!

  243. Red Joe says:

I reckon he can be if he knuckles down. I remember when the critics said the same things (“no end product,” etc) about a certain C Ronaldo a couple of years back, he turned out fairly well in the end, no?

  244. gotta hate tiny tears says:

forget about nani i hope scotts alright

  245. aig alex is god says:

    good morning everyone

a little disappointed about yesterday but we played very very well.foster was crap but wid VDS out we cant help it.berbatov and nani were amazing.chelsea were average to say the least.it showed that even without ronaldo we matched them very well.if we keep playing like this we will be fine for the new season.

i said before the match and repeat again that the match was of no importance for me and i still maintain that .had we beaten chelsea 4-0 it wud nt have meant that they can be written off or vice versa.

ghtt,no chant today norning?anyone will do mate.

  246. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

why the fuck would evra intentionally miss a pen? He tried to score, he didn’t. He’s still the world’s best left back. Glad nani played well, hope it continues coz he seems to have got his head down and put the graft in to improve his game now. Think we looked good and if chelski play like that for next few games they’ll drop points for sure. We were unlucky but far the better team so bring on birmingham and good luck nani

  247. Micky says:

Let’s move on and take the positives from the match.

We didn’t get turned over by our biggest competition for the league this year without Ronaldo and Tevez.

That’s the main thing. We were the better team for most of the match.

  248. aig alex is god says:

    micky

good morning mate.last week of holidays.enjoy.
agree wid u we gave a good account of ourselves.happy wid the performance

  249. Micky says:

    @AIG

Morning. Yup, back to barracks this time next week! :(

Will be offline for about 7 weeks too (probably), so you’ll have to cope without me!

There’s a big stink being kicked up about Chelsea’s second goal, but it was a glorified friendly, so why are we even arsed??

7 weeks, thats a long time mate.so busy that u cant even visit ROM once a day?

i m better off mate, a 10 to 6 job every day along wid my MBA classes starting next month.

i considered it a friendly but SAF seemed pretty serious abt the game.we shud have played for the whistle but then again wen ref has stopped play before a couple of times he has to do it the third time too.thats where the consistency is missing.

feel Carrick or nani shud take our penalties this season.wen fit hargo can do that too.

  252. aig alex is god says:

great one mate.that was the best and most nerve racking night in Moscow.was going to sleep wen terry missed.after that did nt sleep at all.

  258. Micky says:

    @AIG

Military Policeman mate.. working hours are fairly long for a few weeks then they’ll get better.

On topic because I haven’t really expressed my opinion yet on Nani:

    Skill and Potential:

    Nani > Valencia

    End product:

    Everyone > Nani

If Nani can sort that this season he’s in for a good year

  259. Costas says:

GHTT i think she has more passion than Gaz Nev on that one!

I think i ahve also watched the 99 final more than anything else. It’s one of UNited’s crappiest performances, but those last 3 minutes make anything worth it. I still get chills about it. Growing up, Ole was always my favourite.

  260. gotta hate tiny tears says:

i went from norman to cantona to keane to rooney with giggs always as number 2

  261. aig alex is god says:

i have seen the video of 99 final may may times.

but catching it live is a different issue.i remember nearly jumping from the 7th floor at home in delight after the 2008 final not knwing anything but i had just gone mad.me and my cousin watched it together and we went crazy.

other such moments include the macheda goal dis season bcoz it came one day bfre my exams were going to start.it gave me a huge boost.

of course the 2 comebacks against spurs too were special.
with United there are so many such special moments

  262. gotta hate tiny tears says:

or been at old trafford when the final wistle blew against arsenal

  263. aig alex is god says:

    costas

good morning.get over it mate.iknw it was unfair but this probably the least important game of the season.we looked good and it cud be a blessing in disguise and fire up the entire teaa and thrash some teams in the league.
hope we remove our frustration on them by whipping them

  264. Costas says:

AIG, i look at it more like a shape of things to come. I am afraid of how the referees will deal with us this year. Not too many people want us to make it 4 in a row.

  265. aig alex is god says:

    costas

ya.you gota good point thyere.eveyone seems to be aginst United.jealous of our success.we get one lucky decision people like FSW start moaning and wen refrees sendplayers off wrongly against the dippers no one makes an issue of it.cant believe it.

The whole crap FA is anti United.Look at the shocking punishments biven to evra last year and rooney 3 years back.thats what makes these title wins more special

  266. Costas says:

Just look at the media coverage. Whenever a decision goes our way, the tabloids ask for the ref’s head. When it goes against us, they focus on Fergie’s “rants”. ABU at it’s finest. Has anyone even said a word about Foy?

  267. Costas says:

We just made the same point. Like you, i hope our players get motivated from this.

  268. Micky says:

    Fuck tha haters lol

  269. aig alex is god says:

    costas

Graham poll who has become bit of a maniac after retiring has said that foy shud have stopped play yesterday.remember him sayinga fter the CL game wid arsenal that fletch deserved his red.total madcap.

    it goes this way,

‘the higher you are,the more people try to drag you down.’
thats why everyone is so anti United

  270. theboogeyman says:

Reading about you guys celebrating our European Cup wins makes me a bit sad. Why?Because while you guys were screaming your lungs out,I was in my aunt and uncle’s house in Coimbatore(a place in India),and their TV room is right next to their bedroom and the match was going on till around 4:30 am Indian time,so they were sleeping and I didn’t want to wake them up.I was watching alone and was on the phone with my United fan friend.I was dancing like a mental, but just talking normally to my friend, who had gone absolutely mental.

Boy,I love United for the moments they give us!!

  271. Micky says:

When we beat Chelsea in the CL Final I screamed, punched the table to let some of the vent up stress out then broke down crying

    Fucking wierd reaction !

  272. aig alex is god says:

    micky

we too couldnt control our emotion.i mean me and my cousin .we were just jumping at 4 in the night and gulped down a 2litre pepsi bottle each in 10 mins.both of us had tears of happiness.

Oh god! please bring that night bacl again plzz plzz

  273. Micky says:

    @AIG

I can assure you it wasn’t Pepsi I was drinking that night!

  274. CROoney says:

i’m tellin’ ya friends – i adore watching this guy – it’s because everytime he has the ball you don’t know what to expect – he’s so unpredictable and dangerous on his day- i said a year ago that he can be the next ronaldo – not in the terms of scoring 42 goals but in the terms of being our most productive winger/player…if anyone , SAF can make him one of the best players of the EPL

  275. aig alex is god says:

    micky

i dont have any drinks apart from soft drinks and juices and neither does my brother.
we had ordered 4 bottles of pepsi(2 litres each) and lots of snacks to much on,although we neither ate nor drank during the game.dats how nervous it was.

can some post me links of the 2nd leg against juve in the CL semis 1999.i have never seen the goals of that game

  276. aig alex is god says:

    micky

thanks thanks thanks.thank you so much.first time i have seem it.my word keano destroyed davids and zidane wat a game .wish i was a United supporter in 99.that was a magic year.

  279. jespermoses says:

I like Nani.He give us a good option and is really unpredictable against defenders.Sometimes good sometimes bad.

I think this season he’ll really show his worth…..exciting stuff.

  280. fooart says:

cant forget the 2008 UCL final…
    ronaldo header…(best header goal ever)
drogba red carded for slapping vidic…(hillarious)
terry slip and the ball hit the post…( i almost going to burst with tears with terry…not sympathetic tears though)
VDSaviour pointing to the other way for anelka to shoot and than shaking his hand in the air with joy after saving the penalty…best moment ever…
i may not witnessed the magnificient of the Busby Babes,The Trinity,The King and emergence of the Fergie fledgling when i start to follow Manchester United but that night sum up why this club is so so special…
No matter who leaves…Manchester United always the no 1 team in the world for me…
though sir fergie dont leave just yet :)
    another 10 year maybe…

  281. portugueseprincess says:
