Nani: I’m Working Hard Every Day

Nani scored a great individual goal in United’s 3-0 win over West Ham, as well as bagging an assist for Dimitar Berbatov’s goal.

The player who really seems to have had an attitude transplant over the past year is just glad to be helping the team though.

“It was a good game and a good performance from the team,” said Nani. “We had a draw last week and we were focused on winning this game because Chelsea and other teams are doing well. I’m working hard every day. I want to score goals and help my team win games. Today was one of these days and I want to do every game like that. I have been looking forward to this season, to help my team win the league and be important for the team.”

Great game by Nani. He is starting to mature.

  2. perrucci says:

LEGEND!! Keep it up mate dig u :-)

  3. Fze123 says:

It sure is paying off. He really is so much more effective on the right flank.

  4. Redfanfan says:

What a change from the player we have been seing the years before. He can do well, I hope he can stay confident and keep helping the team.

Can’t wait to see Obertan being turned into a new Nani by Ferguson.

Do you think we’ve been stronger today with Giggsy on the left and Nani on the right instead of Valencia? If our beloved 11 remains fit and so clever on the picht, I don’t see any reason to drop him off for Valencia…

    fantasic m8!! berba goaaaaallll!!! priceless..

  6. willierednut says:

Certainly a different player from last season, needs to keep showing that consistency though.

  7. huzi says:

Fergies gonna have some real selection problems now. Nani’s playing well everytime he’s put on the right…so where does Tony fit in? Especially with Tony being out of form at the moment, I wonder if he will get a chance in the next 2 pl games, considering they are big matches.

you’ve done great so far keep it up man hey we need a song for nani

  9. loughie21 - TPL says:

This is the difference between United and Chelski. We take a player like Nani, who could turn out to be a bit of a cunt, difficult personality, all sizzle and no steak and not only do we groom him as a footballer but over time as a person as well. His attitude has much improved, the way he talks about the club and the work he does and that makes him a United player. He’s shwoing a lot more respect and a lot less wrecklessness. He’s matured.

If Nani was at Chelski, he’d not only have not matured but he’d become an even bigger cunt as his ego would have been fed by their system of indulgence and now the guy would be cheating on his girlfriends, diving, cheating and would just be an absolute tosser, egomaniac like Terry, Lampard and Cole who all grew up the Chelski way and we see how they’ve turned out.

Aside Wazza,Fletch,Scholesy,Evra n Vida,Nani shud b d first name on our team sheet.d lad needs games badly to up his game n there by being a LEGEND.In hm i got hope in Ando to improve, whch d team requires cos’ Scholesy wnt b dere longer n carrick is certainly of no use.

i think tony will fit in his crossing is just wonderful but nani has more skills what i love about nani now is his desire you can see in his eyes he really wants to do well it’s all about determination

  12. willierednut says:

I think some of yous are forgetting Valencia roasted Cole in the community shield, he’s still got a big part to play for United.

  13. Costas says:

When it comes to Valencia, things are pretty simple. He had a surgery in the summer and he started playing again in early August. Not too surpring that his fitness and form isn’t what it used to be. I’ve no doubt that given time he can return to last season’s standards. The problem once again(and Fergie mentioned it too) is that Nani proved again that he is better off on the right.

  14. Zelh says:

I think Nani just needs his time to acclimate to the left side.
Another season on his shoulders and there will be no difference about left or right.
And we still have Obertan, who played really well in pre season.

  15. Kings says:

Good win today. Hopefully we can get another 3 points at Everton in 2 weeks time. On another topic, this deluded cunt is off on one again: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1307070/PIERS-MORGAN-Its-time-Arsene-Wenger-really-Special-One.html

  16. denton davey says:

It always take time for a new signing to get with the program, especially if they come from another league which just isn’t as tough/competitive as the EPL. As far as Nani goes, the skill has always been there but learing to play in a team is another matter – somehow, the penny dropped last year for him and it looks like Berbatov is following suit this year which makes one wonder how much longer we are going to have to wait for Anderson to get with the program.

On the other hand, it looks like it’s a very different matter with Chicharito who plays a game that is “foreign” to the usual pass-and-move style that SAF favours – he is an out-and-out on-the-shoulder-of-the-last-man kind of poacher and that requires his team-mates to adjust to his special abilities. Indeed, Chicharito’s blend of speed and anticipation might just mean that he is actually better suited to the “big games” when territorial possession is closer to 50/50 and the field is stretched.

Happy days for SAF to have such problems with a squad of so many talented individuals.

  17. Don Pablo says:

Why not move Tony V to the middle and let Nani play permanently on the right? Frees up space for Gabby/Bebe. Valencia can be a handful in the middle especially with his pace when we are caught out and his tough physical nature. That plus he can pass and I’m sure his tackling will improve playing there. Infact he plays as a DM for Ecuador. Win win.

  18. Fze123 says:

@ Don Pablo, I don’t know about moving him into midfield. He is more productive and consistent than Nani on the right, but what Nani does better is he cuts in, runs at defenders more, switches flanks, roams everywhere etc. Plus Valencia doesn’t have the range of passing that is needed to play in midfield. He is fine where he is,

  19. Fze123 says:

..he is a traditional winger who likes to hug the right flank and I am sure he wouldn’t be comfortable if asked to play elsewhere.

  20. Dave Mack says:

Denton Davey great point about Hernadez. In the big games when space is tight I too see him as the Ole or Ruud type of player to poach a goal.

  21. YorYor says:

    @Don Pablo,

I’d like to think Nani would do better if tasked to play behind the striker(s) with some freedom accorded to him. He can play left and right and has shown he can cut his way in to score goals from the middle.
Valencia would work against some of the “bigger” teams who would also be doing the attacking in order to try to beat us – thus leaving space for him to work with. Against those park-the-bus teams, I’d like to think Nani would be better in creating problems and winning more free kicks in the opponent’s half.

  22. Imnotayankm8 says:

with Nani (L) and Valencia (R) Giggs in the 70th you gotta love that. Valenica mate, could you please use your left foot occasionally? He’s got one move (although class) when he does a stop and go to beat defenders down the line. Nani brings the option of a left or right footed strike with pace to spare. All three have excellent crossing abilities good problem’s on the wings

  23. Ash says:

Happy that nani scored yesterday.I say this was the most important goal in nanis man utd career.I say this because the penalty miss against fulham was affecting his performance in first half and when he scored in the second half he played his original football.I think valencia is still a very important player but i like nani on right side.I am eagerly waiting to see oberton playing.Oberton and nani is a mouth watering combination but having said that i still believe valencia is a very important player for us.
But the only down point for united is or has been carrick.Sorry to say but i think he should have been sold off and we could have bought a young mid fielder like him.Carrick isnt in his early 20′s like ando. For me carrick could be playing his last season for united.

  24. Jeet says:

Keep him in the Right Wing and place Giggs or Anderson in the Left Wing and we would become totally unstoppable.

  25. Mic says:

Let’s hope Anderson has the same attitude and can rediscover his old form, with them two firing on all cylinders players like Rooney would find it hard not to score!

  26. ROONEY'S TURN TO EAT says:

more to come son, more to come ;)

  27. larhalt says:

giv carrick a chance that lad bleed for united and in my diction any lad who bleed for united deserve a chance more ^_^ SAF goin to hav a real problem on selecting a player now with that so many talent on the bench hahahaa
