With Nani making sure he distanced himself from Cristiano Ronaldo with every interview he gives, claiming that he is his own man and a different player to his International team mate, the comparisons keep arising.
Nani was scoring goals in his first season at United that Ronaldo could only compete with in his final season, if you look at the goals Nani scored against Boro and Spurs and compare them with Ronaldo’s goal against Porto.
However, Ronaldo was always given a more solid run in the team, whilst Nani has just started four games in a row for the first time in a couple of years.
Captain Neville has praised Nani today and again reminded people that he just needs time to settle.
“Nani’s performances against Hull City, Manchester City and Arsenal have been absolutely fantastic,” said Neville. “He has incredible ability, and when he performs like he did against Arsenal he is unstoppable. Players like Nani, who have such high skill levels, rely on confidence. We hope the level of performance, determination and skill he has shown in the last few games can be maintained until the end of the season because he’s a matchwinner for us. I think Nani can be anything he wants to be. People expect so much from young players, but it sometimes takes time. It took time for Cristiano Ronaldo to settle in at United as well.”

Man Utd News 24/7

His attitude is markedly different to CR. I like the fact that he is genuinely shy and modest. I like the fact that with his new found confidence on the pitch, he CAN play both right and left (remind you of anyone?)
I think by the end of the season we’ll have something that other big clubs will covet – so let’s hope in the meantime that we don’t start hearing stories of his boyhood dream being in the white of Real!
Nani’s interview in the Manchester Evening news.
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester_united/s/1192092_nani__exclusive_interview?
Nani will never be a ronaldo,a player like that comes once in a decade but even if he continues his current form i will be more than happy.
Always knew that if Nani had a sustained run in the team like Ronnie he would come good. We have seen his potential with those goals against Tottenham and Middlesbrough, and that performance in the FA cup against Arsenal where he absolutely tore them to shreds. I will never forget his ball juggling skills which infuriated Arsenal but I found absolutely hilarious.
I remember SAF having a go about his showboating but inside he must have had a chuckle to himself. Perhaps it was even to keep his ego in check even though Nani hasn’t really got one.
Hopefully Obby comes along well so he can replace Giggsy on the left.
I think its fair to say Ronaldo is up there with the golden trinity in terms of ability. Rooney is going the same way, I feel privaliged to see the player Ronaldo turned into week in week out. Some of the games he won on his own in bad periods were ridiculous! Fulham away springs to mind as well as Porto last year!
Nani has played well in three games, prior to that I think many fans would have took 5 million for him in the jan window considering he was the forgotten man.
I am glad he has made me eat humble pie, I would been glad to see him go but he has really turned a corner and if he is consistant for the remainder of the season then i think we will win the title. United need flare players we always have!
AIG, spot on. Ronaldo is truly a one of a kind player. Someone, who in the years to come will be compared with some of the true greats of the game. What he did at United shouldn’t be forgotten by anyone who was lucky enough to see him grace OT.
Nani is entirely his own man. He wont ever come close to Ronaldo, but then again very few players ever will. Apart from the skill, I think the key difference between the two is that when Ronaldo played, he was the superstar on the team. The focal point of the attack, the player we turned to when we were looking for inspiration. Now, this is Wazza’s team. While Nani has the potential to go on to be a great player at United, Rooney will always be that one player for us. I have always maintained that Nani is tremendously skilled, but just lacked the decision making. Also, playing on the left wing at United is not easy. Not when that is Giggsy’s position, and certainly not when Giggsy has been playing as well as he has. However, I think Nani finally seems to have come into his own. From the Burnely/Hull game onwards, he has had a consistent run in the first team, and has grown in confidence. Lets just hope he can stay fit and confident.
Nani Could well be a future world player of the year in the future i dont think many united fans and or “nani haters” really ever taught any different the stick the boy got was because he just wanted to coast along on his gifts than expand on his talents, which is whats going on now. the only real thing that ronaldo had that nani will stuggle with is the ronaldo giggs partnership were able o seemlessly switch from left flank to right. nani and valencia seem to be the first choice wingers with giggs just been giggs. valencia and nani at the moment doesnt seem to have that advantage but who knows
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/steward-sacked-as-united-try-to-crush-green-and-gold-uprising-1894368.html
theres fighting between the ranks
funny… people just move from one extreme to another, a month ago the guy was rubbish and now he’s the dogs balls…
let’s hope the fans stay off his back when the stuff he tries doesn’t come off because he’s always been a talented player who has not been afraid to try things
fans are just way too quick to jump on bandwagons or write people off. guys like welbeck have already been written off by many of our fans, crazy!
@Scousers Suck
Yeah. Agree mate. That team of 2006-09 was built around Ronaldo with Rooney the main support man. The current team is built around Rooney and Nani has the abilty to be that main support man if he continues to perform like the way he is.
Ronaldo was a complete package, Pace,Trickery, Free kicks, penalties, headers, cool finishes. Nani is a proper winger and does not get into central position like Ronaldo did. However with Rooney in this form all nani needs to do is give Rooney the needed service and Rooney will do the rest.
I just hope he continues to get a consistent run in the team.
Still remember Nicolas ‘ Le Sulk’ Anelka and ABU media wrote us off at the start of the season following ronaldo n argie twatez departures..but this guy can prove them pathetically wrong if he continues his consistent form..seems like new signed player for us, keep it up lad..
with valencia playing as well as he is , but also being very right footed i hope that nani can continue his form on the left flank as he seems more comfortable on the right to me , , on the left he has to shift it and doesnt seem to be as fast to release the ball , maybe that will come , as to drop valencia would be a real shame , i admit i wasnt pleased with the signing but hes shut me up , to see him one side nani the other could be great , im not a massive fan of gabby and giggs cant go forever so if he can settle on the left it could save some summer spending .
Football is a funny thing. One moment you’re the villain next you’re the hero… I guess emotion runs this game more than anything else(besides money).
not sure this is going to make any good for the lad. Nani tried to avoid the Ronaldo labell and now he is again compared to him
btw, on another topic
http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/59545,sport,football,steward-fired-over-manchester-uniteds-anti-glazer-protests
Nani and Rooney both seem to have hit a great run of form at the right time. Hope this keeps going, and things can only get better.
And as Nev said it, players like Nani thrive on confidence. If the fans keep on supporting him even when he has a little dip, it will work wonders for his confidence!
Off Topic-
i heard that if Pompey are ordered to wind up, the teams they’ve played will be deducted points? Is this true? That means we lose 6 points, and 9 goal-difference, and Chelsea drop 3 points. I have no idea about this, but it seems unfair that the results of other should get affected because of Portsmouth! Can somebody please clear it out?
Granville Boden is a hero.
@ Your Dad
I havent heard anything on this
But it sounds absolutely absurd and i see no chance of this happening
no need to worry mate
Tony Starks – I have to agree mate, i completely hold my hands up on Nani. It has been duly noted by many a fan in and around me only to happy to point out that I was far to premature to write this kid off.
Lesson learnt from myself on this one indeed! Come on Danny Wellback
This is the problem. Them being compared is where Nani was going wrong. he was putting too much pressure on himself. they should not be but for some reason people seem obsessed in comparing anyone who is in form to ronaldo.
one thing i will say is it is no good saying ‘it took ronaldo time to settle’. Nani was 21 (nearly 22) when he joined us and was a regular for Sporting, making over 50 league appearances for them in two years. Ronaldo on the other hand was 18 and had barely played for Sporting
your dad
that will happen if portsmouth go into liquidation but i cant see that happening id say they would go into administration which has never happened to a top flight club but it would just put an administrator in charge of portsmouths dealings and they would get 9 points deducted
Anderson, are you watching?
As I said before I have always been a fan of Nani, but must admit, doubts were creeping in, but his recent performances, especially against Arsenal has proved me wrong, of which I am glad. I hope he gets a run in the team, I think him and Valencia can give us width, pace and penetration on the flanks reminiscent that of Giggs and Kanchelskis during the 1993/94 season. Also the way these two are built, they can also give us strength as well. Let’s hope they both play tonight and give Rooney plenty of supply to increase his goal tally. Good luck boys.
Tony Starks/AfroManc – Agreed.
The thing is, as great a Player as Ronaldo was and still is, I don’t believe that players like Ronaldo only come along once every Millennia – thats bollocks, something the Press promote to sell papers.
Yes he’s world class, but he’s not quite Pele or Maradonna is he? these players performed consistantly on the world stage where the stakes are higher. club level is a different animal, for starters the competition is not of the same caliber. So to be honest the over the top plaudits Ronaldo receives are not quite deserved just yet in my humble opinion. Perhaps if Ronaldo turned up at the Final in Rome before he left I’d see things differently. That is what great players do after all, right? But having said that Ronaldo still has plenty of time to seal a place amongst the great, he’s just not quite there yet, in my opinion.
So having brought him back down from Mount Olympus, when we signed Ronnie he was EXACTLY like Nani, all talk and no trousers, all flair and no final product, all step overs and no shot. He was a million miles away from THAT goal against Porto, but anybody with an eye for the game could see that he had amazing potential, and under the watchful eye of Alec he realised that potential and the rest is History. I remember when even the great RYAN GIGGS himself used to be accused of having the pace and ability to beat his man but no final ball, yet nearly 20 years on from him becoming a regular on the left Giggs will retire the greatest Prem Footballer ever thus far. My point is things take time.
So when the conversation turns to Nani, its obvious to anybody that knows the game that if Nani is as determined as Ronaldo was to improve himself and get stronger, faster, better… if Nani pushes himself he can be just as good if not better then Ronaldo. I don’t think Neville is talking shite, I think he means it, Nani has bags of potential, and the real test will be next season of course. But when people over hype Ronaldo its silly. He too is a mere mortal just like Nani. we mustn’t forget that the MAIN difference between Ronaldo and, say, other bright young wingers, is that Ronnie was 100% hell bent on reaching his peak and trained like a demon. PLUS he had full the support and facilities of United at his disposal, for YEARS. Its that determination and grasping of opportunity that determines which young stars Alec keeps and which he lets go. Nani is younger then Ronaldo, and he watched him go from a skinny and often criticised player into “OH MY GOOD GOD !!!! RONALDO IS GOD !!!!”
So if Nani was paying attention, and if he has the desire to work just as hard as Ronaldo did, and LISTEN to instruction like Ronaldo did, he can easily be just as big if not bigger. Of course he can. As much as I admire Ronaldo’s ability and overall game, Ronaldo isn’t a God, Rooney is proving that this year for all ye of little faith. What do you think Benzema would be doing for us if he signed him ? SCORING GOALS. thats why I didn’t feel like slitting my wrist when Ronnie left, because I knew Alec would simply produce another Ronaldo, if not Nani then another young bright star in the making. It swhat he does best. In Obertan we might have the next Giggs, but to believe that, you have to remember GIGGS was once a skinny boy with 100% potential & ZERO final ball.
@Paul Parker
Ronaldo did not let us down in Rome, we let him down too. He had no service at all whole night and was playing as the lone striker. Why not blame Vidic, Ferdinand andthe midfield which was basically crap that night.
You Lose as a team and you win as a team so dont blame him. We were in the fianl because of him and that brilliant goal in Porto adn his perforemance at the Emirates
East stand Manc – Indeed mate I hope he is, came to us in brilliant fashion and has just stalled completely!

Calderon – Ronaldo rejected Barca
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_5928788,00.html
“It’s very well known that Alex Ferguson is not a friend of Real Madrid, does not see Madrid in good light because they are sporting rivals, in trophies and European competition.”
Calderon is a nobhead of the highest order.
SAF is not a friend of The Faschists due to them constantly turning the heads of United players using underhand tactics under the noses of UEFA who refuse to do anything about this.
Real Madrid are the darlings of FIFA and UEFA.
Shitty bid £100 million for Kaka and they are ruining the game.
The Faschists can spend £175 million on tranfsers and it’s fine.
Hypocrites.
The Faschists have not been sporting rivals of United in european competition for the past 5 years because they have been shite. Simple as.
One last point.
As talented as Ronaldo undeniably is, does anybody seriously think that he would have become the player he is today had it not been for the UNITED WAY ? Players with raw talent are a pound a dozen, and we see them all the time at large clubs, only to end up not reaching their potential and sold to lesser clubs. Ronaldo would not have been given the time and care to develop at Madrid, no way, and despite his undeniable talent I doubt he would have been as successful as he is now without us. So that dispels the “OH MY GOD HE’S A GOD” thing. His success is as much down to United as it is to himself. Don’t forget, he was instructed on when to run, when to break, when to pass. He recieved constant instruction. With those instructions he grew and became his OWN player who didn’t need instruction, but he didn’t arrive as the finished article, he used to piss RUUD off with his poor judgement in the final third, remember? and he certainly wasn’t born scoring 30+ goals from midfield was he? United had a HUUUUUGE part to play in that, and if Nani has the same grit and determination, he can do that too, because the lad has bags of talent. I’ve read Ronaldo interviews where even HE admits that Nani has more natural talent then he does HIMSELF… but as we all know talent is nothing without realising it, and Ronaldo’s best asset in my eyes was his unwavering determination to be the best he could be. He really did train like a Demon. So I really hope that Nani continues to take strides and improve on his game, he needs to work harder then ever for us. The only thing he has against him is Alec continues to try him on the Left and not his prefered Right. If Nani was left on the RIGHT I’d have no doubt he would develop faster and score more goals, but playing on his less favoured Left, even tho he proved at Pompey he can do it, just means that his development will take longer and put him at a disadvantage when compared to Ronaldo’s development. Ronaldo was given the right midfield. Still, hopefully the Love/Hate relationship our own Supporters have with him does not turn too sour too soon. The lad always had talent, just like I always believed our young skinny big-headed portuguese kid had talent too, so lets get behind him and watch him grow to be a Legend.
The boy has got a long way to go yet….he’s done well. I just hope and pray that he continues to do well.
All this talk of nev comparing him to Ronaldo, Evra talking him up, Sir Alex talking him up, etc and he himself saying I can be one of the best in the world…I think all of this is Fergie’s mindgames trying to energise and give more confidence to the lad.
He’s nowhere near Ronaldo standard yet…That doesn’t mean he can never be…but he’s still got a long way to go.
Ronaldo had that steely determination to be the best in the world. He trained like a beast, put in extra hours in the gym, in training, practising free-kicks and penalties, his finishing, etc. Sir alex commented that they literally had to drag him off the field sometimes….Now that kind of determination is still missing in Nani…I just hope all these fergie-mind games instill that determination in the lad.
Spencer – Fair enough but players come in to their own at different stages of their career. Just look at Fletch.
I was one who did slate Nani as he was the most frustrating player at OT. If I had my way he would have gone in January. Proves how much I know. Really hope he keeps this form up as he has been a spark in recent games. Everytime he gets the ball now people are on their feet. Exciting times.
As for the Pompey thing they were saying that the other day. Cannot possibly happen. How the fuck is it fair that United would lose SIX points and the dippers gain three? Being penalised for WINNING games. It won’t happen.
RE:Parker
It is one thing to say Ronaldo wouldn’t have been the same if he went to RM at 18, that is probably true, although Higuain seems to have done nicely by it. However, you said ‘if he had been at united, he wouldn’t have been the same’. that is a bit blinkered IMO. Clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona and even the two Milan clubs have a great history of developing young players.
As for Ruud, it didn’t take much to piss him of did it? I am glad he did piss him of though because some of the football we played when RVN here was dull to say the least and I don’t thinik I need to remind anyone what was won when he left
@AAIG
Difference of opinion mate, obviously I watched the final and I felt after they scored our entire team was poor. But Ronaldo in particular was poor for me in THAT game. his performance against Porto is irrelevent mate, because on that night I thought he was poor and if he was asked after the match he couldn’t honestly say he gave his best or gave his all, because he didn’t and if anything he deflected attention away from his own performance by questioning our tactics on the night. Even if he felt the tactics were poor, what kind of player admits that ? Unfortunately he showed a lack of class there, but hey nobody is perfect. Ronaldo will always be an amazing player for me but nothing will change the fact that his final game for us, when it really really mattered, was a poor performance. End Of. Add the fact that he KNEW he was leaving after that match yet he didn’t give everything he had? It was disappointing to say the least im not gonna sugar coat it.
Yes I am grateful for eveything else he did for us but, nah, he didn’t show up in Rome when it really mattered that night. Just my opinion.
Paul Parker – Need to get back to work but read your first line. NO in a word. United made Ronnie. he had personal training with Mulensteen for some time,. Has Nani been getting the same treatment? It really fucks me off if I watch Madrid and the commentators bang on about Ronaldo. Not once do they mention the fact that it was at UNITED where he became the player he is today.
Thanks, Curtis and GHTT..
They’re not in the same league as us in a couple of ways. They can do what they like in La Liga, makes no difference to me.
Nani’s not quite there yet. He doesn’t do the whole ‘Ok, as long as he’s on the pitch, it’s cool’. Rooney does. And somehow, down the left, Giggs does that more than Nani right now. Check out my thoughts on that, and why Nani should probably give the Villa game a miss- http://bigfourza.wordpress.com/2010/02/10/fixture-computer-madness-part-ib-villans-again/
RE: King Eric
“Spencer – Fair enough but players come in to their own at different stages of their career. Just look at Fletch.”
I know and I am not criticising Nani. I have always defended Nani because I always knew he would come good. How did I know this? because he very clearly had the talent and there was just a few faults holding him back which needed ironing out. What I am saying is people can’t just say ‘oh well Ronaldo came good, so Nani will’. It doesn’t work like that, their whole circumstances both arriving and later on in their United careers are completely different. Not that I think they should even be compared because they are compeltely different and I feel Nani doesn’t want the comparisons because it puts more weight on his shoulders
http://www.strettyender.com/nani-people-surprised-play?
Now i dont want to be a party-pooper but is it just me or can others also see a line in there somewhere where he says that “When I leave eventually I want the fans to remember me as a big player for the club. I want them to say that Nani did well for United”
Now dont tell me he’s already thinking of leaving….
I think all this crisis talk and debt and all has probably made me jittery and its not gonna happen but when things like this get said, you certainly don’t get a nice feeling especially after the whole Ronaldo saga.
“Yes I am grateful for eveything else he did for us but, nah, he didn’t show up in Rome when it really mattered that night”
Ronaldo has shown up in plenty of big games. People are so quick to bleat on about this being a team game, well it wouldn’t have mattered if ronaldo was playing well because the whole team was quite frankly s***. I remember, I was in Barcelona a couple of days later for work and some of the Barcelona fans said to me (in Spanish, English translation) ‘we have played against better midfields in the tercera division’ (fourth division). I remember anderson being subbed at half time
RE: RED-DEVIL
Erm of course he is going to leave one day. Do people expect every player to be Ryan Giggs? The guy has another 12-13 years left in his career. he is only 23
RE: King Eric
” had personal training with Maulensteen for some time,. Has Nani been getting the same treatment? ”
As far as I know every young player works with Maulensteen while they are at the club as part of their development so I can’t see why Nani would be any different
No need to compare them. Nani is doing just fine. I just hope his confidence is not fragile. If he has 1 or 2 bad games, he must have the confidence to bounce back. Things won’t go his way every time.
Anyway, I think he might get a rest today. Here’s the team I predict:
VDS-Rafael,Brown,Evans,Evra-Valencia,Carrick,Scholes,Fletcher,Giggs-Rooney
Not expecting Vidic to retun.
@Spencer,
I don’t think its Blinkered at all. Look at Fabregas, he’s wasted at Arsenal, if he was signed by United at the same age he signed for them them he’d be a better player now, if not for any reason other then the calibre of players around him. When he eventually leaves Arsenal for Barcelona you’ll see why I say he’s wasted at Arsenal. He’s held back by his club. As for Ronaldo, I don’t believe he would have developed into the same player he is now. I didn’t say he wouldn’t have been a great player, but in SPAIN he wouldn’t have become the tough, strong, confident, adaptable player he is now. Do you honestly think Messi could simply slip into a Premier League team and play in the same way he does for Barcelona ? I don’t think so, it would take time to adjust to our tempo. The Game in England is a completely different BEAST to Italy or Spain, and Ronaldo is undeniably a better player for having become a man in the Premier League – but my point was, playing in England under Alec has played a huge role in his success, and if NANI takes the opportunites available to him, in time, NANI can become just as successful as Ronaldo or even more so. that was my point, and to write the lad off now as never being able to reach the dizzy heights of Ronaldo is simply placing Ronaldo on too high a Pedestal. Of course he was a great player for us, but come on… who was he before we signed him ??? And how much time and energy was placed into his development since we signed him ??? Finally, how many clubs would have taken the time United did to develop him ??? thats my point, its not to take anything away from Ronaldo’s natural talent or his determination to succeed, its just to highlight the often FORGOTTEN role played by UNITED in developing our players. Would Beckham have become Beckham at West Ham ? Would Bentley still be an average player if he signed with US as a teenager ? Im just saying don’t forget OUR CLUB plays a huge role in the development of our Stars. When Obertan becomes the best thing since sliced bread, people will assume he could have done that anywhere. I say BOLLOCKS, plently of talented players DO NOT reach their potential elsewhere. Clubs play a vital role in developing talent, and in recent history I can’t think of a better club then United for doing just that. NANI is in good hands.
The jury still out for me on nani, he’s been very impressive the last few games lets hope he can maintain that level untill the end of the season. ps ando cud learn a thing or 2 from nani
@ Paul parker
Mate you make a few valid points there…. Could you please be a bit better with your punctuation and organize your piece into paragraphs
It sure will help us read and understand your comments better that way.
@Paul Parker
Fair Enough mate. I just thought he was playing as lone striker and had no support whatsoever because we were steamrolled in midfield and Rooney and park also had off days so i dont blame him for that loss.He was pretty good in the final in 08 and gave Essien a real headache especially in the first half.I always have admitted that i have a soft spot for him, dont know why but i always want to see him do well and as you said regard him highly for what he helped the club achieve.
Spot on about the fact that UNITED MADE RONALDO. A lot of people forget it easily.Good you mentioned it.
King Eric gets my point – well done mate.
Of course we all don’t have to agree, but I think people don’t understand my point despite it being crystal clear – let go off Ronaldo for one moment and just ask yourselves this, everything should become clearer.
we famously won it “with kids” right ?
WOULD THAT SAME TEAM OF KIDS HAVE WON ANYTHING AT MADRID, ARSENAL OR WHERE EVER ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF – THE ANSWER IS NO.
no player is bigger then United, and generally speaking, we don’t BUY super stars we MAKE them. When I said UNITED WAY thats what I mean. Look at Valencia, he was playing for WIGAN for fucks sake, he’s 24 now, watch the player he’ll be when he’s 26. His success will be done to his OWN talent and determination plus OUR PROVEN DEVELOPMENT METHODS AT UNITED.
Ronaldo was a talented kid, but being at United made him who he is.
Don’t forget that. Nobody is bigger then Club.
I think you can clearly see, that Nani prefers to play on the right… For me, it always seemed he isnt that confident on the left… this brings up the question if SAF will try to play valencia in center midfield (what he plays for ecuador..) but that, wouldnt make any sence if you look at our current center midfield with scholesy, fletch and so on…
hahaha point taken Red Devil. Its either I type in a rush or I take ages replying and miss the convo.
Spencer, come on, im not talking about other players I just briefly mentioned Ronaldo’s performance in the 09 Final. I said the WHOLE team played poorly after they scored. But I only mentioned it to make a point regarding NANI, and now you’ve raised it -
YES, RONADLO PLAYED SHITE IN THE FINAL, and the fact that the other players also played shite is neither here nor there. If I say NANI played a great game last weekend and you say “SO WHAT ROONEY DID TOO” or if I say Ronaldo played shit in his last game for us and you say “SO WHAT ANDERSON DID TOO” the conversation is gonna get very old very fucking quickly. But we can agree to disagree, even tho you actually agree with me Ronaldo DID infact play shit in this final game for us ? lol. if we’re talking about the final in Rome, earlier performances elsewhere don’t mean shit do they ? Its Irrelevent. Its like terry missing that Penalty in Moscow and saying ” well its the only Penalty I’ve missed this year”
he would be talking BOLLOCKS wouldn’t he ? when it really counted he fucked up. I think as United supporters some of us need to learn not to be so precious about our players whether supporting or criticising them. Ronaldo was an absolutely amazing player for us time and time again no doubt but God damn it he had a shit final last year… Its ok to admit it.
I would have been happy to see Nani leave last month but glad he has proved me wrong.
He’s got his confidence up and with a run in the team, he can be a great player for us.
We shouldn’t knock him though if he doesn’t play well in a couple of games – he needs a chant or something so he feels wanted and therefore plays to the ability he clearly has.
This is just another example of Fergie working his magic – GO UNITED!
Red Devil, i heard that too – hopefully, through his pidgeon english he just meant “at the end of the day i hope im remembered as a great player” but to be honest its understandable if continental players want to retire there, but as long as they give us excellent service during their time all will be forgiven when they move on. I can’t see Nani wanting to go anywhere tho, i think he wants to press on and win things for us here. Tonight should hopefully be a convincing performance, but im really looking forward to the Champions League – Nani, Valencia and Berbatov are gonna be DYING to impress, and apart from winning it, nothing would make me happier then seeing those 3 have a strong tournament. I can see it now…
I for one had run out of patience with Nani some while ago.
I criticised everything from his consistency to his lack of brains.
Tonight, if we see another amazing performance I shall be eating the following tomorrow for lunch :
Starter – My Hat
Main course – My words
Desert – Humble Pie
I shall be happy to eat all these things as promised and I will wash it all down with a large glass of hard to swallow pride.
I am pleased to tuck in to this meal as Nani has been like a star signing we didnt know we had signed in January.
Thrilled if he becomes our new Ronaldo – comparisons aside, I just mean our most exciting on the ball player.
I am a big Berba fan but feel he is not manning up enough just yet. His little lob ball last week showed how he can open a defence in a big game like Chanmpions league crunch games to come.
Paul Parker – In your comparison of Ronaldo to Pele and Maradona. Of course he is up there. Pele did fuck all away from Brazil. Did he even play at the very top?
Spencer – I didn’t know everyone worked with Renee. Certainly not one to one anyway.
King Eric, You What ?

Paul Parker – In your comparison of Ronaldo to Pele and Maradona. Of course he is up there. Pele did fuck all away from Brazil. Did he even play at the very top?
______________________
Ronaldo is NOT up there with Pele, don’t be soft lad.
what do you mean “did he even play at the top ?” PELE DEFINES “THE TOP” Look at the honours he won at Santos, clearly your not aware of Brazilian football, so go and look up how many times he won the Brazilian “Premier League”, the Brazilian “FA Cup”, the South American “Champions League” …mate are you fucking serious ? Ronaldo ain’t fit to clean his BOOTS.
Even when Champions of Europe played Champions of the Americas, Pele was different class, he SCORED TWICE at the San Siro when Santos beat AC MILAN to lift the cup for the BEST CLUB IN THE WORLD, and the year before that he also lifted the same cup when SANTOS beat BENFICA, in fact he scored a HAT TRICK. I don’t even have to talk about how many World Cups Pele has won. Ronaldo up there with Pele ? the Original Ronaldo is way closer to Pele then our Little Ronnie, to be honest mate.
And this is what I mean about Supporters getting precious with players, Ronaldo has won ONE champions league medal, ONE FA Cup medal, THREE Premier League Titles and ZERO World or European Cups. Its a great record but its hardly UP THERE with Pele is it ?

So with all due respect, fuck right off with that one mate, Ronaldo isn’t fit to clean Pele’s boots, he would tell you that himself. Plus, the only reason Pele didn’t play for “European Teams” was because the Brazilian authorities basically banned him from leaving Brazil, and to be perfectly honest Pele was happy where he was. He played and beat AC Milian and Benefica in back to back World Club Finals after all. Pele scored 1000+ goals, come on son.
Lord knows I love United, but jeeesus, Ronaldo up there with Pele ? he’s won fuck all at international level and ONE medal at european club level. talk about getting carried away with the hype. Pele wasn’t considered the best ever player for the last 50 years for no reason. You’d think Ronaldo was the first ever player to score amazing goals or something, or the first ever player to run at speed and beat his man with skill before delievering a deadly ball. Before Ronaldo can even be considered up there with Pele, Ronnie will first have to play at the highest level for at least another 10 years while winning a couple world and european cups and completely dominating the champions league and La Liga. If he does all that then yes, he can begin to be considered up there with Pele, but until then? RONALDO ISN’T EVEN UP THERE WITH GIGGSY !!! Pele ??? C’mon son… Just because the English don’t hold the World Cup in the highest regard of all tournaments (because they have fuck all chance of winning it) doesn’t mean European Club Football is the epitome of ALL Football.
Do me a Favour.
if Portsmouth cant fullfill their fixtures the f.a will just award anybody still to play them three points and maybe a 2 0 goal differance.
Paul Parker – thats why ronaldo turned down all the big clubs in spain for united in 2003. Because ronaldo knew coming to united and the premiership fergie and co could bring out all the amount of weapons he had in his locker that in spain they could not do with ronaldo. The spannish defences simply cannot cope with ronaldo at times, and they have not come across a player like ronaldo who is literly bigger tham most of the defences in spain. Its very wrong to compare ronaldo with nani for these reasons.
- ronaldo came at united 18 while nani was here at 20
- ronaldo is more versitile bigger and more atletic
- ronaldo can score free kicks and headrss from corners
nani is a very different player heis a wide player in the mold of figo giggs and silva, ronaldo is a very unique player and is so tactically flexible where he can play right left and a striker.
King Eric – I had an account on BBC606 and I wrote a quick article about pele that he is overated and I was battered by idiots who never watched pele or read the facts only looking at his very flawed goal soring record. Who were so spoon fed on what the media and other people were saying how great pele was without actually looking at the facts, the brazilian ronaldo also said peles goal scoring record was overated. I talked to an experienced brazilian fan who watched them for years going back to the pele years and he has also has said pele was overated he said he was an awesome player but not has good has what peole say about him, he has also said pele is not even in the eyes of brazils fans over many years the best player brazil ever had.
much respect to Paul Parker, especially with the comments about Ronaldo. Undoubtedly he was a great player for us, but we shouldnt get too carried away…i mean, King Eric, i don’t usually comment, i just read the articles but Pele? You usually make really good comments but to compare Ronaldo to him is a delusion. simple. can u even confidently say that Ronaldo was our greatest ever player? no. so why Pele, Maradona, Best, Cantona, Zizou or Giggs?
concerning Nani, like Mr Parker says again, his natural talent is clear for all to see. You don’t bamboozle people the way he did Nasri and Clichy and come off as a flash in the pan. the talent is undoubtedly there. all he needs to do is to work hard and keep his head down, then the sky is the limit, take Beckham as a case study. Arguably the most popular footballer on the planet (for footballing and non footballing reasons) he could curve, cross a ball and pass a ball lke no other. it wasnt that he had the most natural ability but everyone agreed about Beckahm when they said he was a consummate professional, who trained as hard as he could, so he could be the best at what he did, better than the dead, living and the unborn.
RANT OVER.lol
@rooney the new king
why would you say pele was overrated? true, many Brazilians consider Garrincha to better than him, even Pele said so once…but overrated? flawed goalscoring record? is Ruud overrated? is Gerd Muller overrated? they had great scoring records too. so what makes him overrated?
pls, if u can try to watch ESPN Classic more often, if u can get it. then u’ll actually see these players..Cryuff, Di STefano, Pele, Eusebio, Best, Puskas, Juanito, Kopa…and then u’ll know that nothing is new under the sun. they were great…and Pele is their KING. his records cannot be toyed with..
Is this april fools day, pele overated.
VIVA NANI!
Good Point Darren24, Nani is def one to watch.
About Pele, everybody doesn’t have to agree about he’s the best, but obviously I agree with you, he is the archtype of every player that came after him, I’ve seen Pele do unbelievable things duing a game, before any other player was doing the same thing in the same way. The European Football world couldn’t believe their eyes when they first saw him play, nobody was doing anything like it on the continent, he was incredible, he single handly revolutionised football in Europe without even playing here. But again your right, his record speaks for itself, and there is no way Ronaldo is currently on Pele”s level, which was the comment that sparked this mini debate, and in my opinion is a naive one to make. Even when we call Rooney the “white Pele” its an effectionate term, but perhaps some take it literally, which is equally as absurd as comparing Ronaldo. Pele is Pele, there are no comparisions, & as you said there is only one KING.
___________________________________
@ Rooney is King, look at what you just said.
Its very wrong to compare ronaldo with nani for these reasons.
- ronaldo came at united 18 while nani was here at 20
- ronaldo is more versitile bigger and more atletic
- ronaldo can score free kicks and headrss from corners
___________________________________
Ronaldo is bigger and stronger and more athletic because he TRAINED REALLY REALLY HARD WITH UNITED, he was skinny when he came, not as big as he is now, he bulked up with us. Alec used to mention him needing to get on the machines and bulk up all the time when he was a teen, and he did. Nani can get stronger too, and he will.
Also, Nani has already proved he can scorefree kicks, he’s scored a couple for us already, and Portugal, but remember, Ronaldo wasn’t born scoring 30 yard screamers, Ronaldo (like Beckham) practiced and practiced and practiced and practiced…. Ronaldo is a consummate professional as Darren24 just alluded to. So again, Nani can build on his natural talent by being patient and training really hard on all areas of his game. thats what managers mean when they say its down to the players. For instance, Ronaldo was a poor header of the ball when he came to us, but guess what, he trained and trained and improved, just like Rooney has this season, Rooneys last two goals prove it. He’s even said himself recently that he’s been working on his headers. Early on, Ronaldo also stated he wanted to improve on his headers and look how powerfully he started to head the ball. Its all down to Training and Determination. If Nani shows the same drive, he too can reach higher levels, because playing well is down to HARD WORK as well as natural talent.
aig @ 10:35: ” The current team is built around Rooney and Nani has the abilty to be that main support man if he continues to perform like the way he is.”
I agree but I would also add another point – I don’t think that Nani plays anywhere near as well when Berbatov is on the field. Why ? I don’t know but perhaps it’s because the slower, more deliberate pace to the game that accompanies Dimmy’s presence seems to stifle Nani’s game.
@willierednut,
I know, I know, can you imagine ? Pele over-rated ? Do me favor
Its like I said, some people must think Ronaldo or Messi or even Best and Maradona were the first ever players to run at defences with the ball and score amazing goals. GTFOH. People had a hard time believing Pele was actually human when they saw him play, he was THAT incredible and THAT ahead of his time. We all have our own “favourite player”, but even so, 99 out of 100, you’ll find that PELE was your favourite player’s “favourite player”.
King Eric @ 12:27: ” Fair enough but players come in to their own at different stages of their career. Just look at Fletch.”
SAME THING WILL HAPPEN WITH ANDERSON. KEEP THE FAITH
“I was one who did slate Nani as he was the most frustrating player at OT. If I had my way he would have gone in January. Proves how much I know.”
HUMBLE PIE. The issue with Nani was that even when he was “inconsistent”, he would produce one or two moments of magic in a game. I could never understand why people would get “frustrated” because that’s what happens to all forwards – how many times has WayneRooney been “inconsistent” ? (clue = ManShitty second leg; Wazza misses an open goal with ten minutes left; Wazza scores a header in extra time. People go nuts and conveniently forget the inconsistency of his performance)
Paul Parker – What is with telling me to fuck off? No need pal. Santos were hardly world fucking beaters. He didn’t have the bottle to try his hand at a TOP CLUB. Bagging 1000 plus goals in a piss poor Brazilian league is hardly owt to bang on about about. Not fit to lace George’s boots.
Paul Parker @ 12:48: “The Game in England is a completely different BEAST to Italy or Spain”
EXACTLY. Just look at the guys who are on Brazil’s World Cup squad – Kleberson, Gilberto Silva, Robinho, Elano, and Julio Baptista – who couldn’t cut it in the EPL.
PS If you read my posts over the last year or so you will see quite clearly that I ain’t a fucking Ronaldo fan boy. I don’t particulary like the cunt mate.
Everyone bangs on about that “dummy”. He fucking missed. The half way line shot? He fucking missed. Even becks buried it!!
rtnk – Spot on pal. Would have loved to have seen him at a TOP EUROPEAN CLUB.
I don’t like Pele.
Paul Parker @ 12:57: “no player is bigger then United, and generally speaking, we don’t BUY super stars we MAKE them”
This is just a ridiculous statement – what about Keane, Rio, Veron, Rooney, Berbatov, and many others who were purchased for record (or near-record) fees ? What has happenend in the last few years is a change in strategy – buying kids with fantastic potential instead of spending mega-quid. But the reality is that SAF has always had an open cheque-book if he thinks that the player-in-question will be a “missing link”.
Rooney @ 15:19: “- ronaldo is more versitile bigger and more atletic
- ronaldo can score free kicks and headrss from corners
nani is a very different player heis a wide player in the mold of figo giggs and silva, ronaldo is a very unique player and is so tactically flexible where he can play right left and a striker.”
Basically, I agree with this BUT I don’t like categorizing (or pigeon-holing) players. Ronaldo was four inches taller than Nani – a huge difference. Neither of them are out-and-out wingers – both of them works best as “inside forwards”.
Ronaldo might be more “two-footed” than Nani but I don’t think that there’s much difference on that score – when Ronaldo played on the left (in front of Patrice Evra) he was most dangerous when he would cut inside and slam the ball with his right foot.
Sound familiar ? Furthermore, this is the template for Nani’s success too since Patrice Evra is such a fantastic, dynamic wide-overlapper that Nani will have to play “inside” him and that’s going to take some practice for the two-of-them to work out co-ordinated team-work. When Nani plays on the right, the fullback (even Rafael) doesn’t drive forward in the same way as Evra does on the left.
Actaully most current players I’ve heard cite Maradona as their favourite player, including Rio and Anderson in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz-A3f4JxyA
Neither do I like Pele, King Eric.
My personal greatest footballer ever is none other than Sir Ryan Giggs.
Paul Parker – what are you talking about many players trained hard thats not the reason why ronaldo has so many weapons in his locker, yes he was skinny at 18 and he worked hard but look at his size at 18. ronaldo is 6 ft 2 he is 2 footed and has the the weapons of a central striker, ronaldo is literly bigger than the entire barcelona arsenal and most of the la liga teams defences. Nani has not got those weapons and never will have them because he has not got these key attributes to be compared with ronaldo, they are totaly different players.
Nani is a out an out wide player, ronaldo is not only an out an out wide player but he is great inside also. Nani if he totaly realises his potiental will be more of a dream player for strikers like rooney, while ronaldo was doing and wanted to do the jobs of 2 players, be the wide player but also do the job of a striker thats the key difference why ronaldo is possibly the most unique type of player on the past decade or so, he is so tactically flexible and so versitile here is why.
- If I am a manager and I have ronaldo, say I have 2 quality strikers and a bit thread bear upfront I could save my quality striker, choose a back up wide player stick ronaldo upfront and it gives me freshness for the next game.
- or if I want to play a 433 system I can use a fluent 3 prone attack
- or I can stick him on the left so my other attacking fullback will have space so the hard working wide player covering the attacking fullback will be covered.
that is why I call him one of the most unique players he gives managers alot of options and flexibility more than rooney messi etc because ronaldo is comfortable right left and upfront, while rooney is a middle player while messi is great right left but not one to use has a striker.
I love Giggsy, obviously, but although he is enjoying an Indian Summer at the moment, you can’t deny that many of his seasons at United were blighted by inconsistency and hampered by frequent hamstring injuries.
One of the greatest ever footballers? Undoubtedly. The greatest ever footballer? Not quite.
King Eric Said,February 10th, 2010 @16:43
Paul Parker – What is with telling me to fuck off? No need pal. Santos were hardly world fucking beaters. He didn’t have the bottle to try his hand at a TOP CLUB. Bagging 1000 plus goals in a piss poor Brazilian league is hardly owt to bang on about about. Not fit to lace George’s boots.

erm, they WERE world beaters, the biggest club competition in the world at the time was the Intercontinental Cup, which carried more weight then then it does now, and PELE won that TWICE with Santos – his team Beat Maldini’s AC MILAN and they also beat Eusebio’s Benfica. So I’d call Santos world beaters, but why wouldn’t you ?
…
Especially as the Benfica team THEY beat was the very same team UNITED beat to be the first English team to win anything outside of England.
…
so if that 1968 BENFICA VICTORY is good enough for UNITED, what makes you think its not good enough for PELE and Santos ? C’mon son.
King Eric – exactly pele was never tested at a top european club like united barca liverpool milan the fascest and for me for truly top status players must be playing in europe to be giving the tag greatest of all time.
@King Eric,Paul Parker & rooney the new king
Calm down lads
Ronaldo is world class. No doubt about it. Can we compare him with Pele and Maradonna, well why should we?.The generation of Pele and Maradona was different from todays one so it wont be fair to make comparisions. Most people say pele is the best so there must have been something about him. Same with El Diego. In the current era no striker however good he is will score 1000 goals in any of the top leagues and Ronaldo is a winger, not a striker.
The other thing is Ronaldo has not done anything at the international level, do Portugal have a decent enough team.I dont think so. All average players apart from Ronaldo. Pele and Maradona were surrounded by good players. The Argentina team under Mardona was like the United team of last 3 years. A world class player in diego and some really good and talented players around him.Pele had players like Garrincha who have also gone down as the greatest in history so they clearly had the team to do it on the international stage.
aig alex is god – I have been calm I have not been swearing I have given good statements on my opions, but thats the masisve factor pele was in a great brazil side if guys like best were in that brazil side? and pele was in bests nortern ireleand side? I would like to see how pele would fair.
rtnk
i know mate. never seen you swearing. its always good to discuss with you . All i am saying is dont argue about it anyways Ronnie is no longer at united. When he was he was the top dog. No doubt about it.Agree with what you say about Best and pele
King Eric, saying “TOP EUROPEAN CLUB” as if Santos wasn’t a TOP club is Bollocks mate, Pele played AC Milan and beat them in the Intercontinental Cup Final, the year before they beat Benfica. Those two are amongst the greatest European Teams in European Football EVER, and Pele played them both and beat them, scoring 7 goals in total. He’s already proved the point im making. He beat those teams when they featured greats such as Maldini and Eusebio. Plus, when they went into those finals, nobody considered Santos to be under dogs from a “piss poor league” – and when SANTOS beat them both, it wasn’t considered a shock. TOP EUROPEAN CLUB my arse, SANTOS beat Benfica just before UNITED did. Santos being a small club is a modern figment of somes cunts imagination. They have a long history comparable to United.
…
As for me saying Fuck Off, its turn of phrase mate, so don’t be offended or effected by that, whats the point? Besides, what do you expect when you make statements like that, if I told you Titus Bramble was better then Evra in a matter of fact way, wouldn’t I warrent being told to politely fuck off by everybody here?
…
Ronaldo as good as Pele ? thats what you said, course I told you to fuck off. what did you expect ? lol. Theres more chance of Bramble being better then Evra. Young Ronaldo has no Intenational Silverware to his name, ZIP, ZERO, NONE, so how can he be on the same level as a THREE TIME WINNER ??? I know the English like to down play the world cup and play up European football, because England can’t compete with the likes of the South Americans, but you can’t seriously dismiss Pele’s World Cup Glory and say Ronaldo is on his level, with his ONE champions league medal. thats BOLLOCKS mate, whatever way you look at it, Pele has too much Silverware and played at the highest level for too long to be compared with Ronaldo. And before he exodus of South American players to Europe, South American players didn’t have to play in Europe to be considered as belonging to a Big Club. I guess you think River Plate and Boca have no history too ? C’mon son.
aig alex is god – I made comments that people are comparing ronaldo with nani when you see why they cant be compared for many reasons. well I jumped on the bandwagon it was brought up so I was given my two cents.
I have had enough of dead weight dicussions a big match tonight and I am crapping myself. like I have said since I came on the site a phew months ago we are thread bear upfront anarehat anyone alse says my eyes and brain dont lie unless its the twilight zone and I am seeing things. I dont trust owen and berbatov etc and with teams like villa its going to be hard to breakthem down especially if we go behind tonight, if united had another inform striker like judas tevez when we look back on it now why did united buy berbatov, its by far fergies strangest signing who clearly does not fit into our style of play and tactical reasons is well. I will be confident has hell we will win the league but with us being light upfront it keeps chelsea in the title race.
Do me a favour, mate. How is a Portugal player supposed to compete with a Brazil player in international medals? Silly argument anyway. Kleberson has won more World Cups than George Best. I’d ask you if that makes Kleberson better than Best but I’m too scared of how you might answer…
@ AIG
I can see why your saying calm down, but for me its really not that big, im conducting this conversation in the same way I would over a pint in a pub, but perhaps rather then being in a Pub with the fellas discussing football, maybe I should pretend im at a quaint little tea-party ? (that was a joke by the way) Everybodies had a “heated” convo over which players are the greatest, and I assure you, ANYBODY go to the pub tonight and tell somebody word for word “Christiano Ronaldo is on Pele’s level” and unless you are talking to an 18 year old, you will probably be told to fuck off, and righty so, BOLLOCKS to whatever you lot are talking about. But I just wanted to clear that up, I enjoy and respect most of your opinions, I wouldn;t be here otherwise. So just know im not being disrespectful, im actually beingmyself, but considering I’ve seen people on here calling for Glazier to be shot, comparing him to Hitler, and using various obscenities against John Terry and co, I simply assumed telling some one to “fuck off” would roll off their back, clearly not, lol, so I apologise, honestly, and I’ll try to conduct myself in a prim and proper manner for here on out. Scouts Honour.
@rtnk
i agree with you on the striker issue. i too feel we need one more good striker. Berbatov has been a bit inconsistent bad owen has spurned many chances which is unlike him. God forbid but if anything happens to Rooney we are well and truly fucked. That shows we need somebody who can do a good job in his absence. Can berbatov and Owen do it in Rooneys absence? i am not too sure.
Villa will be hard to breakdown.no doubts will defend all out and try to hit us on the break because they have good players with pace. We certainly must do better than we did at old Trafford and i am sure SAF will approach the game in a different way knowing what to expect from Villa.
Paul Parker – I dont think ronaldo can be compared with pele but pele was playing in a great brazil side. If pele was playing in bests ronaldo’s and messi’s curent international teams would pele have 3 world cup medals to his name its very doubtful. because lets be frank there is only so much any top player can do, if he has too many average players then its almost impossible to win any tournament. Yes brazilian football was better then than now but playing in pressure clubs like united barca madrid milan is of another level than brazill. Where pele was used to the envirement he never tested himsef in a different league see if he can conquer that league where the style is different, he never challenged himself to play in a really exciting league where he will say I will show everyone here like italy spain england where tons of great players were playing also.
@Paul Parker
Some comments are a bit over the top. No doubt.I respect your opinions mate and most of your posts are well reasoned. As i said many current and past footballers and critics say Pele was the best of all time so there must have been something about him. I never saw him or Maradona play and hence dont want to say anything on who is the best.
Oh come on Fred, grow a set.
…
Read my comment above, its really not that serious. Jeeesus. Besides, im not sayign Pele is a better player then Ronaldo due to his World Cup Medals alone, im saying his overal game was better, his ability to score important goals, his consistancy, his pace, his ability to beat players. And the fact he was at least 3 decades ahead of his time. Best was an amazing Player, as was Maradona, but for me Pele is the greatest. Its my opinion. Ronaldo shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentance of those three players, he hasn’t done enough to justify that. Ronaldo wants to worry about Messi, who is again having a better season then he is. Are we saying that Messi is comparable to Pele and Maradona too ? how about Benzima while we’re at it? but like I said, your entitled to your opinions, and me mine. Its really nothing to take personally. this is a discussion board. But read the post above, I’ll refrain from vulgar language, even if its innocent fun. Funny how people call Terry a CUNT a million times and wish the Glaziers died violent deaths and so on, but theres no probelm with that. fucking odd, that. excuse my english.
Paul Parker – well I am one of the people that want the glazers dead and it will never change. for me united are like my family anyone fuck with them its personal, and for me the glazers have made it personal with their behavior on how they have run the club and the way they are threatening with their disastrous buisness plan that is a threat to uniteds financial stability, where it could be bankrupsy then what did people expect me to say when I say say these things, the glazers have made it personal.
aig alex is god – exactly and berbatov will always be fergies strangest signing because he does not fit into our system and style of play. its not like a phew years ago when we had ronaldo rooney tevez all fit consistant and very fluid and tactically it made our strike force very devestating in different formations, and hard to handle because it was 3 players to mark and if one was having a bad day we could relie on the other 2. add the fact we could bench tevez he comes on and he makes the difference with his tempo, when berbatov comes off the bench it made no difference what so ever same when he starts he never influences the games. I dont want to go on that debat but thats my problem with our strike force no one excepect for rooney is taking responsiblity.
Agreed AIG, but I’ll leave the convo there, don’t wanna unintentionally crush any feelings with my keyboard. I respect everybodies opinion here. there is no problem on my side, its a laugh, nothing more.
Perhaps the miscommunication is down to nerves before the game, perhaps its time of the month, who knows? But rest assured, while sipping my first well earned Pint tonight I will be sure to enquire whether anybody considers Ronaldo to be on Pele’s level, and I’ll try not to get too upset when im jokingly told to FUCK OFF a million times by a million different people. Jeeesus, senstive football supporters? fuck me gently with a bromstick, I’ve seen it all now, lol.
…
have a good one.
@rooney the new king
cant disagree on the striker one. I have been rooting for dzeko since the summer. A lot of people have disagreed but i feel he could be the man for United. People feel he isnt quick but he certainly has decent pace and is physical too. IMO he would be the ideal foil for rooney
@Paul Parker
Nice talking to you. Enjoy the game tonight.
Paul Parker – the difference is terry is not the one threatening to bankrupt united which makes him less of the two evils. terry is our comptition on the field while the glazers are our enemy who is controlling our club has we speak, add the fact they are piling debt wiping the profets and may have used all the ronaldo cash for themselves, and isong the ronaldo cash to pay the interest back which in my eyes it makes them our biggest enemy.
aig alex is god – I have not heard much about him but one thing is for sure united should in the summer need to get a striker a proper one who can help rooney out, if united dont buy big this summer we will know the money is not there because anyone with half a brain will know united are thread bear upfront. and its the only weakness in our team thats kept chelsea in the title race they are lucky united did not buy aguero or villa who are miles better than berbatov who he is so tactically a limited striker, because we were 1 striker away from running away with the league this season.
maybe in the next few year real madrid will wan 2 buy nani
That had crossed my mind, Bengali.
and Rafael!
Don’t even think it, Corea. (But yes, that had crossed my mind too!)
hope he keeps his good form going on!!
THING IS, RONALDO’S NO LONGER A UNITED PLAYER so why all the sentiments?
the fact that Pele won 3 world cups out of 4 and scored ‘prolifically’ (hope thats a word) in all competitions he played in, shows his class. so if u hate him, go rewrite history..
No-where near as good as Ronaldo, not even close enough to make any comparison in my opinion.
