Nev: Rooney Made The Right Decision

Gary Neville has publicly backed Wayne Rooney after his decision to sign a new 5 year deal with the club.

“The right thing has happened in the end for Wayne, for his career, for his life – he has made the right decision,” said Neville. “The club gets to keep a great player – someone who works hard for the team every week. It will take time to settle down but once it settles down and time heals and he will go on to have a great career and win trophies here.”

What he says to Rooney behind the scenes might use slightly more colourful language…

No he’s at united, not been alot of academy or reserve games through out october.

  4. Costas says:

I really hope he wasn’t this polite in the dressing room. :D

  5. denton davey says:

Well, all that’s nice to say, but Gary needs to contemplate his retirement – sooner, rather than later. He was skinned by Matthew Etherington – MatthewFuckingEtherington ! He was very lucky not to be given a second yellow and red-carded before half-time.

  6. Kings says:

I sincerely hope Gary put Rooney in his place after all the shit that’s happened.

It was always going to be tough for Nev up against Etherington considering he has bags of pace, was lucky not to get a second but the first one was never a yellow.

    600 games. *respect*
    Fucking Legend.

Yeah its sad but I think Gary Neville’s days are coming to an end. He’s given this club a lot and if anyone deserved to join the 600 club among our current players it was him but Wes was immense today reminded me of 07/08 and he should be starting while Rafael’s game progresses.

I said it in the live coverage, but if Gaz hadn’t been ravaged by injuries in the last 3 and a half years, he would have been a lot closer to Giggsy in terms of appearances. He might have even surpassed Sir Bobby. But still, what a career he has had.

Gary Neville your absolutely spot on, he has made the right decision for him. Its just that hes a cunt, treated us like cunts, treated friends and families like cunts and we pay him for the pleasure. What are we. CUNTS.

  11. RedScot says:

What he might say behind the scene, you mean like! Stop fucking around you fat overpaid cunt.
Get back to thinking and playing like a manchester united fucking football player, not some self seeking. Take a fucking few minutes and read of the icons you are following. Get your fucking head in gear and do the right thing for your club the manager and the fans.
I would be saying never darken my towels again. But i am harder to sway.
To me he has brought huge discredit, he has wrecked what united is about.
As i still think, more damage as been done here than is noticeable at this stage of the saga.
Three or four goals aint gonna crack it for me.
Not that i would shout him down.
I think through all this shit his touch has been woefull. Has this been due to his problem’s, me thinks not.

“The main thing is that the best outcome was reached for all parties,” Neville wrote in his Times of Malta column. “Except perhaps Manchester City.”

Right on ! I don’t understand why WesleyBrown has been shunted aside and gets so little playing time even when he’s healthy. The guy is a rock. He might not have the flair or the pace of Rafael but he is, after all, a defender and when he plays the defence is stouter, more resolute, and tougher. His career has been something of a shambles because of so many injuries but when he’s healthy, I’d always have him in the first-team.

any word on the 50mil transfer kitty the glazers are supposedly giving fergie for the summer? last i heard bale and ribery were prime targets (as well as a keeper)… love to see bale especially, giggsy could mentor him a bit and he’d be fucking brilliant with us

  16. daveob82 says:

    @denton.

Didn’t Wes tell SAF to fuck off or something when they were on pre-season??
Maybe he is being taught a lesson?

  17. RedMancudonian says:

Gary Neville is the best right back England has ever had, though always live-sentence criminally underrated, but we, loyal and devoted supporters Manchester United should praise Gary just like we praise God, in fact, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are the Holy Trinity of Manchester United, of course, I’m not playing down the importance of our elder players, like Sir Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law, George Best, Duncan Edwards, Paddy, Harry Gregg, and our manager, like Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson. I really hope that, if this is the last season for our Holy Trinity, and for Edwin Van Der Sar, we win the EPL and CL, if nothing else, then for them and for Sir Alex Ferguson. I also hope that we keep our Holy Trinity as staff members at the same day they retire, they are living examples of everything our club stands for and can help every man in this club. WHO PUT THE M IN MANCHESTER ?!?!?! MANCHESTER IS RED !!!!!! VIVA MANCHESTER UNITED !!!!!!

    Just to lighten things up!
