We were unlucky with the timing of Pique’s departure. Had he stayed on another year, he and Evans could be starting games together, in the absence of Ferdinand and Vidic who have been struggling (for their standards) with injuries and form lately.

They’re obviously very talented players but whether they force themselves as first team regulars in the near future or whether they pursue their career elsewhere due to unavailability of first team action like Pique and Rossi remains to be seen.
