Never Forget – The Flowers Of Manchester

busby babes green gold

The singing of The Flowers of Manchester will take place under the Munich plaque at 2pm before the Portsmouth home game. The singing will be conducted by Pete Martin of the folk group Hanky Park.

The lyrics can be found on the Munich 58 website so if you’re going down to the ground, print out a copy of the lyrics so you can sing along, and if possible, print out copies for others.

Thanks brwah for your thoughts, and in such moments of remembering these types of tradgedies, and the players, fans and others attached to the moment, who have so sadly lost their lives, we should all have the decency to take the time to remember and set any football rivalries aside for that moment.

My father was a fan who had been lucky enough to see this team play. I grew up hearing all about them, hearing comparisons against the United players and teams of my childhood, the great Liverpool teams that dominated football throughout my youth and teenage years and then the great teams Sir Alex has produced over the last 20 years. Let me tell you that very few players from any of those teams would have been fit to grace this team…according to my dad at least :)

May they rest in peace, and all respect to fans of other clubs who offer their own thoughts, in memory of this footballing and human tradgedy. I hope we United fans can all show the same sentiments for other club’s history and their own tradgedies.

  11. trevor says:

I have always thought at how devistating to every united fan when this happened.

I can only imagine that it was like United a few years ago, on fire and after the plane crash we loose half the team including rooney!

I have always wondered how good Edwards was, i always asked uncles and anyone old enough to remember and everyone said he was something else. Most said that the cant remember a single player since to be so far better than anyone else.

It always sticks in my memory an interview with a welsh left back, When wales where due to play england and against edwards. He said the gaffer went round the whole team giving them tips on what you do etc. After it was finished the gaffer hadnt said aything to him. Gaffer, you havent got to me yet and im against Edwards, The gaffer turned to him and said something along the lines of ” ahh yes, Edwards, Theres nothing i can tell you that is going to help against him… Good luck son do your best!”

The above might not be completly accurate, its how it has stuck in my memory!

  25. Giles Oakley says:

Thanks for posting that very moving video, GHTT, which brought tears to my eyes, as I’m sure it did to many others. There is something terribly moving seeing so many great United players from different generations joining together with such dignity and restraint in paying tribute to those that died at Munich. You can see in all of their faces and hear in their sombre voices the understanding of what the Disaster meant to the club, and hence how it has given a unique depth of meaning to their own careers as footballers with United. All great players at Old Trafford come to grasp the knowledge that they are part of a great extended family with an extraordinary heritage in part rooted in the deaths of those bonny bouncing Busby Babes. That creates an obligation to live up to the high ideals of sportsmanship and skill set by those that died so tragically. With each passing year it might be thought the memory would fade, the flame would flicker and die, but it doesn’t. Sometimes it’s because of the living reminders in the shapes of Sir Bobby Charlton and other survivors such as my great hero Harry Gregg, or Bill Foulkes. But then one discovers that a player such as Patrice Evra has been reading books on the club’s history, and you can tell in almost every interview that he’s absorbed that history and heritage with complete empathy, and it thus it means so much more to him to play for Manchester United.

For me personally it’s a sobering thought that it was exactly 52 years ago today that my own love affair with United began. I was leaning against a radiator trying to keep warm on that freezing cold night when our ‘babysitter’ Mrs Gilbert (Bless her memory) came in, my parents being out for the evening. She looked very sad, not her usual cheery self at all. She asked to put the radio on as she wanted to hear the news as there head been a dreadful air crash. I listened with her, seeing the tears rolling down her cheeks as the names of those who had definitely died were read out. I don’t even think she was particularly a football fan, she just wept for the loss of such fresh-faced young men who had lost their lives representing the nation, as it was seen in those less partisan times. From that moment on I was gripped by the fate of the survivors, especially Duncan Edwards and the others. As the days and weeks passed I came to realise I was a United supporter, as I have been ever since. How strange life can be, when a catastrophic accident causing the deaths of 23 people can lead one into something that has given so much pleasure for those 52 years – and pain too, of course. My life has been enriched immeasurably, and for that reason alone it remains an obligation on my part, never to forget.

Gone but never ever forgotten. R.I.P Busby Babes. They are still very much alive at this club. They are no longer here but still in our hearts and in every utd player’s heart. Nobody dies at this club. Their spirit is what spurs the team to success. Is there going to be a minute’s silence before Kickoff today by the way?

  27. james f says:

R.I.P. United’s flag is deepest red. We’ll never die.
Sad anniversary, although it’s my (41st) birthday today.

  28. adamo167 says:

    United’s flag is deepest red,
It shrouded all our Munich dead,
Before their limbs grew stiff and cold,
    Their heart’s blood dyed it’s ev’ry fold.

    Then raise United’s banner high,
Beneath it’s shade we’ll live and die,
So keep the faith and never fear,
We’ll keep the Red Flag flying here.

  29. Gee says:

The flowers of Manchester, RIP. You play on forever in our hearts, and for God in Heavens eleven.

    Will never die!!

  30. Fze123 says:

The team: VDS, Neville, Brown, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Fletcher, Carrick, Nani, Berbatov, Rooney

Vidic is not on the bench.

  31. willierednut says:

Always remembered never forgotten, RIP lads.

  32. willierednut says:

No vida, wazza and berba up front.

  33. United4eva says:

RIP. I hope the lads dont let the emotion of the day get the better of them and stuff Portsmouth to give the flowers of manchester the tribute they deserve.

  34. The Edge says:

    well happy with that team.

Rooney, Berbatov, Valencia and Nani. GOALS.

Just accept Vidic is gone. Evans more than capable of replacing him plus he’s British.

    6-0

  35. Colbert says:

    RIP

What IS going on with Vidic? He was supposed to play today. Again.

  36. Costas says:

If I had 10 euros everytime we heard Vidic would be back, I would be a millionaire. What? He reaggravated his injury again?

  37. 20legend99 says:

    RIP lads. Never forgotten.

    Oh, and Vidic has Madriditis.

  38. edwin says:

    COME ON UNITED!!!

  39. Fze123 says:

It will be interesting to see how Valencia plays on the left.

  40. willierednut says:

    Well done portsmouth fans.

  41. evras left boot says:

    @ the edge

Since when was nationality a factor ?
Anyways anyone got a stream for the game ?

  42. Costas says:

Actually it’s Nani on the left. Not often we attack the Stretford End in the first half.

  43. Orez says:

    Any links?

  44. Fze123 says:

Sorry my bad. Meant it will be interesting to see how Nani plays on the left after playing so well on the right.

  45. Costas says:

    Looking good so far.

  46. Costas says:

    So close Jonny!

  47. trevor says:

    Lads,

there is no doubt in my mind that Evans will improve even more if vidic goes!

For me Difference in Quality & to the Team between Vidic or Evans = very fucking little!

20 Mill in the bank say if we purchased Dzeko for 20 mill, Having Evans @ Centre Half & Dzeko in the starting 11 or in the bench is a Big fucking difference!

doesnt havbe to be dzeko could be the inter right back, or Say next Season Vidic Leaves and we buy Buffon for 20 mil! not an improvement over vds in my eyes but a replacement @ vds quality for 6 years! Job Done!

Damn, final ball needs to be a bit better.

  54. trevor says:

    Yeah,

It looks like it is going to be one of them days, Portsmouth have parked their bus!

Hope we just keep picking away, keepign things tight at the back and watch out for the counters!

We will get chances, our lads have to take their time and not rush or panic with the final ball or shot!

  55. dv-ant says:

games like these we need a creative midfielder

  56. cherry says:

    Any links please????

  57. Tony Starks says:

isn’t it funny how we seem to judge the game in the first 20 mins… just wait till they get more tired, it’s going fine so far…

  58. trevor says:

It is a shame Valencia wasnt left footed!. Although nani can use his left foot he does struggle a little on the left.

Ohm Nasty Challange by Ohara… Real Nasty!

    Hate tackles like that!

  59. alinaabbamancesterutd says:

    HULL go up againts morons!!

  60. trevor says:

    @ Tony,

Yeah, Games like this against simular opposition does take time to ware them down. Its all about when we get the first goal or for that matter which team!

The Last 20 is usually our best chance of scoring as the opposition can only keep up this kind of concentration or efforts for so long. In addition give our lads a little more time on the ball and its only a matter of time before good chances are created!

  61. rooney the new king says:

I told u ppl its going to be one of these dodgy games

  62. trevor says:

  69. Tony Starks says:

  70. trevor says:

Think im being quite fair! hahaha

  71. 20legend99 says:

Why does the CUNT ABU Charlie Nicholas always always always get United games.

  81. Tony Starks says:

great! missed the goal! stupid streams

  88. Doghouse says:

I smell blood in the water. There could be a feeding frenzy for the strikers in the second half.

  89. Tony Starks says:

    nani.. nani.. nice!

  90. Costas says:

    NANI!

  91. The Edge says:

Lucky goal. That was a Chelsea style deflection but I ain’t moaning.

Floodgates. Berbatov who cost £30 million needs to score.

  92. trevor says:

He wont get that goal! Deflection must go down as an og

  93. dv-ant says:

  97. edwin says:

Well, we have dominated, but need to keep alert at the back.
    More goals please lads!

  98. TonyBee says:

lets bring owen on and go for it big style

  99. Costas says:

Once again it’s proven that the first goals is always the hardest. Lets get the 3rd quickly and kill them off.

Wazza has equalled his best tally for a season.

  100. rooney the new king says:

trevor – if you are stonned listening to the chinese commentary it would be hilerious I would piss my pants. I still will never forget the american commentary on uniteds game with juventus in the summer 2003 during our american tour which is still one of my fav pre season games ever, veron that day was just genius that day

  101. cherry says:

Trevor, can u please throw more light on this soap cast think..please mate..Really need a link

  102. hurr says:

Yeah, this is like a practice game for the lads. Pompey are so fragile. Mount the pressure please! Also, Nani is now an OG bringer?

  103. The Shankill Skinhead says:

Dont`t worry `Berba` should score now. We are 2-0 up now at home against pompey.

  104. rooney the new king says:

Costas – if pompey scored I would have been worried I was even more happy when we scored the first goal than the arsenal goal

  105. willierednut says:

Shud be 3 0, berba missed a sitter. ps hope everton play like that against us they where piss poor

  106. Che Guevarist says:

That would be the sort of game the Owen would relish. I like Fergie’s positivity today, there are more goals in this game. Nani is still doing a good job on the left, he’s been running at defenders a lot this first half

  107. blindkat says:

hey ya’ll you can try the link on http://www.channelsurfing.net its not english i’m not sure what it is some eastern european dialect don’t know if thats any better. Nani is the OG the king of the own goal

  108. theboogeyman says:

TonyBee- That’s what I’m watching, except on the TV. :)
    It’s delayed by 3-4 seconds, that’s it.

  109. The Edge says:

no he needs to score. He’s a striker. Can’t rely on Rooney every game.

He should score really but don’t count on it.

If we keep going full throttle second half, it should be a cricket score.

    Get Stuck In Lads.

  110. TonyBee says:

who is on the bench for the reds today?

  111. Costas says:

    @RTNK

Agreed. This is a potential banana skin – match. And there were a few nervy moments while it was 0-0. But as soon as we get that first one, things usually get easier.

  112. TonyBee says:

boogeyman…. got the it on computer and the rugger on the tv…hee hee ….missus has fucked off shopping….result..!!

  113. theboogeyman says:

    TonyBee- Nice one!

  114. TonyBee says:

Anyone know who our subs are today?
2 red cards at analfield 1 each… rat munchers 1 up

  115. edwin says:

    COME ON UNITED!!!!

  116. The Shankill Skinhead says:

`Berba` will score now this game is 2-0 , but then when AC Milan cross our paths expect him to be either on the bench or not scoring at all. Thats what he does in big games. That`s what he`ll always do.

  117. portugueseprincess says:

    @TonyBee,
    Thanks for the link.

  118. Milaneli says:

    cherry

sopcast is a program. download it and on myp2p you should find a links…

  119. trevor says:

Two things i have noticed with regard to nani today.

1 – He is playing with Confidence
2 – Our fans are accepting that sometimes he over hits passes, Sometimes he makes the wrong decision and for a change dont get on his back!

  120. TonyBee says:

    my pleasure P-princess

  121. rooney the new king says:

Costas – still lets make sure united get this done and dusted and pump up the GD. because unlike a phew years ago this prem is unpridictable so united better not switch off.

  122. dv-ant says:

hope that diouf lad gets a run out – think hes on the subs bench

  123. theboogeyman says:

That was a god-like pass. Tony should have finished.

  124. edwin says:

    Oh brilliant Berba!! Unlucky Valencia!!

  125. theboogeyman says:

  126. trevor says:

  164. dv-ant says:

shud hav given evra a rest and left berba on

  165. portugueseprincess says:

    hahahahahaahah 5

  166. TonyBee says:

    wow what a volley….. 5 zip ….!!

  167. edwin says:

    hahahhaaaaa
    What a finish!
    5-0!

  168. Bebeto says:

They keep scoring for us. This is no fun..

Who am I kidding.. of course it is! :D

  169. dv-ant says:

    fukin hell
    ANOTHER own goal
    own goal hatrick

  170. Costas says:

    @AIG

I think it will go to Carrick because he was going for goal. Nani was going for a cross.

Now it’s an own goal! Dear me!

  171. rooninho says:

what’s our league goal difference now???

  172. Fze123 says:

Can we please score goals of our own, we don’t need portsmouth’s help!

  173. Orez says:

Evra the OG machine :) , in a positive way, that is.

  174. edwin says:

    Oh no Diouf!! Unlucky!!

  175. The Shankill Skinhead says:

`Berba` has scored his high pressure fourth goal. Expect the opener against AC Milan now obviously.

  176. Costas says:

    @rooninho

    We are at +41 I think. 61-20

  177. rooney the new king says:

lets get the GD really pumped up because we may never get a better chance to own the GD

  178. five says:

Berbatovs goal was just what the fuck? I have never seen anyone calmly holding off defenders like that(since the King), good fucking shot too!.

The own goals are weird but hey we ll take it!

  179. Costas says:

    @The Shankill Skinhead

Don’t care if he scores or if he doesn’t at the San Siro. He was quite brilliant against Inter last year without scoring.

  180. rooninho says:

cheers costas, feeling greedy today! maybe the portsmouth defenders will try to go for the reverse hat trick!

  181. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

Thanks mate. Thats 8 OG against us. Must be some kind of a record and to think Pompey gave Chelsea a fight at the bridge and lost only 2-1. They have lost some key players since then though.

  182. edwin says:

    Oh no not again Diouf!!!
    unlucky again!

  183. portugueseprincess says:

Oh Diouf..that should have been 6.

  184. Costas says:

    What a miss by Diouf!

    @AIG

Yeah we have been getting a lot of OGs in our favor. Must be from the pressure we are putting teams under!

  185. willierednut says:

    50 cent missed a sitter.

  186. trevor says:

    hull 2 shity 1

Viera has came on 60th minute 78th minute he has been booked!

Didnt take him long!… Hopefully he will get another yellow! hahaaha

  187. Colbert says:

    Costas

He really was. Ran the show in that match.

  188. portugueseprincess says:

    Carrick’s goal credited to Hughes.

  189. trevor says:

    Lads,

As its well known, im not a big fan of carrick!

I think he has done very well today! Looked Sharp, Took up good defensive positions. His passing has been good. Cant complain!

  190. Fze123 says:

We haven’t won 6-0 at all this season.

  191. aig alex is god says:

    @Costas

Yes. That could be the reason but some of them have been crazy. Feel sorry for Portsmouth

  192. trevor says:

carrick might get credited with the goal, i understood it to be if a shot was on target and gets deflected the attacker gets the goal.. If it is off target and it gets deflected then its an og

  193. trevor says:

Dioufs certainly not scared to shoot! Nice to see in a new player!

  194. willierednut says:

Very good performance, where getting the taste for it now.

  195. hurr says:

Diouf really have good movements on the field. He should be good for the future. Though, him and Owen really need to take the chance Sir Alex gave them to prove themselves and put them on the score sheet.

  196. edwin says:

    FT
Well deserved victory, Nice to see Rooney and Berba on the scoresheet.
    We’re Back on Top!

  197. willierednut says:

The massive club lost again, 34 years and counting.

  198. Fze123 says:

Great performance, but I felt we should have scored more to increase the GD and kept up the tempo till the last minute. Class goal by Berbatov too, he had had a decent game. 3 points, top of the league. If arsenal win tomorow I will shave my eyebrows.

  199. Costas says:

Good performance albeit, Pompey were worse then Wigan. At least they were making us score our goals! Carrick’s goal should have been his. Oh well…

I guess these are our new strikers. ;)

  200. willierednut says:

    com on the gooners.

  201. hurr says:

And lol Shitty. 200 mil and they just roll over and die at Hull’s hand.

  202. aig alex is god says:

Good result and good for our goal difference. Now its over to Arsenal to avoid defat tomorrow an help us stay on top. I have a feeling the gooners will get something at the Bridge tomorrow

  203. Costas says:

I agree that our GD could have been boosted even more, but lets face it. We don’t often embarass football teams. Unless they are called Newcastle!

  204. hurr says:

I’ve just heard that OG is our second/joint second highest scorer this season. Fergie, sign him up lol!

  205. Costas says:

    Hurr

He is our second highest scorer. One ahead of Berbatov! Fergie sign him up indeed! :P

  206. DEVILisRED says:

comfortable win. did not need to move out of 3rd gear really.
    over to u arsenal tomorrow.
    stuff those bang-ur-pal-wifey fuckers!

  207. willierednut says:

    @costas and aig
You’s 2 must be a bundle of laughs to go out with, cheer up lads were top of the league.

  208. Costas says:

    @willierednut

It was a good performance, no denying that. But the true tests are the next three. The good thing is that they team is showing that it’s finding its form.

  209. Ozzy says:

Waow! liverpool on 4th spot in the league.. FINALLY! took months.. what a pity.. but things will changed if tottenham wins later on and hope they’ll do! & send those dippers back to where they belong..

  210. rooninho says:

top of the table! arsenal, fergie gave you your orders, now batter chelsea!

  211. Costas says:

Can’t have any complaints about the GD. We are top scorers and have a +3 over Chelsea. Lets hope for a draw tomorrow.

  212. willierednut says:

    @costas
You can only beat wats in front of you and we passed a big test last week, i think the players are hitting form at the rite time.

  213. rooninho says:

    like the user name ozzy!

my four month old son is named ozzie! he’s making it really hard for me to watch matches these days, can’t shout, curse, or throw things! the three year old doesn’t make it an easier either!

great way to celebrate the busby babes today! nani is becoming impossible to drop.

  214. Tony Starks says:

a few weeks ago we were miles behing in goal difference, so this is too good! 5-0 win in premer league is fantastic against anybody..

  215. manu4life says:

    Ship berbatov and buy agbonlahor.

  216. Ozzy says:

    @ rooninho

aww thanks mate! it seems there’s a situation of a daddy-day-care like at home.. cheers! :)

  217. theboogeyman says:

willierednut- It’s not luck that we’re hitting form at this time.

  218. five says:

Agbonlahor? HA! He ll bring pace and nothing else. Berbatov may not be an out and out goal scorer but some of the things he can do with the ball are beyond Agbonlahors wildest dream

  219. aimanunited says:

Nani is a magician, creating 3 own goals in 2 games from nothing… although not as good when he plays on the right…
Pompey really played like unpaid workers, no fighting spirit at all…
I’m grateful with 5 goals but we really missed many good chances, esp. that berba and diouf sitter…
anyway, rooney with another world class performance, berba scored in after moving in his own pace, Valencia back in the team, a clean sheet, top of the table, growing goals difference and so many positives impact…
have to feel something for owen though, really want him to score so that he gain his confidence back…
ps: also wondering about another owen, is he still alive? :)

  220. aig alex is god says:

If at all we are going for a striker i want it to be Dzeko. Agbonlahor is good player but villa will demand too much for him because he plays for an english club.Dzeko and Rooney will work great together

  221. the scottish wonder says:

massive performance, we could have scored many more..

I love watching United when they play like this

I thought Owen and Diouf did well when they came on

  222. sprite says:

manu4life – FUCK OFF because of nick and comment.

    “Fze123 Said,February 6th, 2010 @17:25
Berbatov danced his way to that goal. Hope this starts a goal scoring streak for him!”
4 goals in 4 games means he is on a good way……..

  223. Fze123 says:

    “Ship berbatov”

We’ve heard that all before. Yawn yawn. He missed a sitter, all he had to do was tap it in. Should have done it easily. But the way he took his next chance was just magnificent. Held onto the ball with defenders all around him, under so much pressure, then drilled it home. As many have already said on this thread, he was superb against Inter last year. Lets hope he can perform well against the italians in the knock out stages this season too.

  224. hurr says:

    manu4life – shut up, seriously…

Berba is only like 2 goals short of Gabby and with a knee pain to boot and also less start IIRC? That and your name is a disgrace for a Manchester United fan!

  225. Fze123 says:

@ sprite, I feel sorry for him because it’s not easy watching your team mate score every game, becoming officially the top scorer. His injury prevented him from getting many starts, plus the fact that Fergie has played a consecutive 4-5-1 formation in the past games opting to play Rooney up front as he is in the form of his life. I noticed that today Berb didn’t drop so deep like he used to before; he was staying upfront for the majority of the game. I don’t know if this Fergie’s order but he got into good positions and looked more eager to score, than usual.

  226. Costas says:

    @manu4life

That’s your only comment from today?

And people thought me and AIG weren’t too optimistic. :D

  227. eleventh heaven says:

if the defenders were Puyol/Pique/Alves/Abidal, i bet Berba would be nicely shat and packed by them. Berba still got his goal bcause the defenders were VandenBorre/BenHaim/Wilson/Rocha.
Oh, and two of them even scored for us. Love the team performance, Berba needs to step up if he even wants to be on the bench for the big games. I doubt that Sir Alex would use 4-4-2 if he continues to play like that. In the big games i mean.
Yes, we drilled pompey, but against a well organize defenders, Berba would definitely trashed. He seriously needs to do something with his gameplay. United cant fit in to his game, he must fit in to United game. See the diff ?
Just giving my thought abt him. Doesnt mean I’m not a true United if i criticize an individual.
    FEB 6th 1958, FOREVER REMEMBERED.

  228. Fze123 says:

Does anyone know if Fergie said anything about Vidic’s absence after the game?

  229. Tony Starks says:

how many goals do we need to win by to shut these people up?

  230. manu4life says:

think what berbatove would have done the game at arsenal, slow that devastating counterattacking game. The patnership of our no.10 and gabby would be nightmare for defenders. Unless we sell berbatove now(probably for 10mill.) in a year or so time he would go for free.

  231. kaihnsn says:

    manu4life,

you think all the game was like arsenal huh? SAF knows what tactic to use and what players to utilise to suit our game with diffrent opponent. counter attacking game would be useless to play against team which we can control the tempo of play.

counter attacking game might not be effective againts team which employ midfield who play deep in their own half. so thats why player like berbatov will shine in game which opponent defense is hard to break.

  232. Jandsdad says:

hopefully the babes enjoyed the game today.
no one will take manu4life seriously when he disrespects the flowers of manchester on today of all days with his username.
Fair enough Berbatov should have scored in the 1st half but his second half goal was fantastic and more than made up for it.

  233. aig alex is god says:

Aston Villa are seriously rubbish.Hope we batter them on Wed.Just defend for their lives and try and get a goal from somehow.Hope Spurs win today

  234. hurr says:

Anyone watched the Merseyside derby today? Everton was seriously crap. Against 10 men Dippers and they only got like 1 shot on target. Wtf? And lol @ that cocksucker Andy Gray. Gerrard does his trademark starfish dive to win a freekick and he calls him clever. Sigh…

  235. GoatinaUnitedShirt. says:

My thoughts remain with our fallen heros.

May I also say that I feel the picture at the top of the screen completely distastefull. The Busby Babes and their memory should not be used to flout propaganda for a political cause, getting rid of the Glazers. To tint the most holy of United photographs to make a point is absolutely disgracefull and the person who did that should get his face caved in. It is not the done thing to use the dead in any advertising/political/point making scheme.
I for one am not keen on the Glazers and would like to see less money leaving the club but im not prepared to deface my clubs history for my point of view, especially as they arent around to ask if they believe they same way I do.

Same goes for the idiot that put a yellow and green scarf round Rios neck today when the new ENGLAND CAPTAIN arrived at OT, he sharpishly removed it. Not surprising really, they pay his wages.

I wish all fans well, those who like or dislike the Glazers, those that like or dislike Berbatov, those that like or dislike Nani BUT please please please dont deface our clubs history. especially today of all days.

  236. Costas says:

Do we have a player called berbatove?

  237. Jandsdad says:

    @ aig alex is god

hope ur right but we know Villa will have their game of the season against us.

  238. aig alex is god says:

    Jansdad

Villa wont have, they HAVE had their game of the season at Old Trafford, time to get some revenge.Just look at the way they play. Some decent pacey wingers and a quick striker in agbonlahor All they do is defend for most of the time against decent teams and try and get a goal from somewhere

  239. Jandsdad says:

    @ aig

revenge is needed big time.just do not understimate them.

  240. Corea says:

    61 goals in 25 games.
67 goals in 38 last year. not bad.
who would have thought, we have better GD than Chelsea and the best in the league now of course. rememer what some of us were saying back in autumn.
loved Berba goal. one of the very few goals he scores from outside the box these days.

  241. aig alex is god says:

    @Jansdad

I am saying we SHOULD batter them, not we will . I am not too optimistic about the game as it is away from home.Think it will be a Draw. Would be more than happy with 4 points from the next 2 League games at Villa and Everton

  242. denton davey says:

aig @ 18:30: “If at all we are going for a striker i want it to be Dzeko.”

NOT ! I’d swap BOTH Vidic AND Berbatov to ACMilan for Pato. He’s the best young striker in the world – and, OhMyGawd, would he complement WayneRooney or what ?

  243. aig alex is god says:

    @denton davey

Wish that was possible. However Milan will Never Sell Pato.he is the next star of the game and Milan rejected a 50million bid from Chelsea in the summer. I feel Vidic wont leave in the summer and anyways Milan cant afford him and not many top teams will want berbatov.

Dzeko is Just 23, big, physical and has decent pace. Plus he plays for Wolfsburg and can be tempted away easily compared to Pato.He is available for 20-25 million.Milan are intrested in him but wont sell Pato if they get him. They will sell Huntelaar who is a shadow of what he was at Ajax

  246. GoatinaUnitedShirt. says:

Im sure Scott didn’t mean any malice, certainly not directed towards his club and its history. On reflection maybe I did word harshly.

AIG @ 20:51: “Wish that was possible. However Milan will Never Sell Pato.he is the next star of the game and Milan rejected a 50million bid from Chelsea”

I agree. So, then, toss in some of the money from the sale of Ronaldo ! If WayneRooney has been good on his own, he would be doubly-dynamite playing alongside young Alexandre Pato. But, of course, you’re right – it’s just FantasyFootie. Still, can’t an old man dream ?

  248. aig alex is god says:

    @denton davey

Of Course you can.Would love to see him myself, sad that it wont happen. Along with Toni Kroos of bayern Munich he is the one to watch out for in the next 5 years

  249. rooney the new king says:

I am not going into that debat again we are playing well and even though I still feel we are light upfront hope is retored that the title will remain at OT. I laughed at this comment and it shows evra is a united legenf and it is true about arsenals overated football and side.

Patrice Evra, who boasted that the fixture was ‘men against boys’ after last season’s Champions League semi-final win, said: ‘When we won the Premier League for the third time in a row last season, in France they just said, “Manchester United are champions again”.

‘Then Arsenal win a Carling Cup tie and you hear it’s the most beautiful football in the world. That winds you up. What have they won in four years? Nothing
