The Christmas period was a good one for Manchester United, picking up more points than any of our rivals. The points gathered were made all the sweeter thanks to two of our opponents. We won at Anfield against Liverpool and beat Everton at Old Trafford, collecting six out of six points against our friends from Merseyside.

Gary Neville with have looked on in envy. Nobody likes to see us beat the scousers more than him. However, tonight he will have the chance to make amends when playing against Everton for the Reserves. He is a part of the sixteen man squad travelling to Widnes for the 7pm kick off. He will join Zieler, Heaton; Simpson, Eckersley, Chester, Cathcart, Lea; Hewson, Gray, Jones, S Evans, Cleverley; Dong, Brandy and Fagan.

Neville last played for the Reserves in October against Stockport County, but this resulted in yet another injury setback. He will be hoping his appearance tonight is the catalyst for first team action.

Will Gary Neville ever play for United again?
