Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that both Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs will be offered contract extension at the end of the season.
Giggs has more appearances for Manchester United than any other player, whilst Scholes currently lies in fourth, 68 appearances away from equalling Bill Foulkes’ record.
“Ryan will be offered a new contract for next season, which is an indication of what we think of him coming up to 37 next season, and Paul knows he will be offered one as well,” Ferguson said. “Ryan is an example to young people,” said Ferguson. He has humility and he has never changed and I think he is having his best years now. He has retained that amazing quality in his game and also an enthusiasm to play. I spoke to Paul and he said he didn’t actually say he was thinking of his future. When you get to that age every player starts to think about what the future holds for him. But when you see Paul’s performances at West Ham and in Wolfsburg last week there is no reason to think he can’t do it again next year again. Maybe he thinks he should be playing every game. That’s fine, but I know that’s not fair. We want the quality. We want to see Scholes perform like he did on Tuesday and the best way of doing that is to gauge the games we know he is going to dominate.”

They deserve it.why is giggs being given a 1 year deal?. He deserves atleast a 5 year deal the way he is playing.shows no sign of stopping or slowing down.Scholesy too is doing well .Scored 3 goals this season.Giggs too has scored quite a few and his overall play as been outstanding

I reckon Giggs definitely has at least one more left in him. At the start of the season I thought it might be Scholesy’s last, but he’s had one of his best season’s in the last few so maybe he’ll change his mind.

If giggs plays today he’ll of played more premiership games than anyone else. He’s joint top and is one away. Another honor for this unreal man. Is there anything else he can win

I really hope that these two would at least get one more Champions League winners medal before they leave.
These two are one of the reasons i started supporting this club. I’ll admit i have called for their head in past seasons, but boy do i feel stupid and humbled, great players even greater professionals. When they do hang up their boots it will be a sad day, i hope United keep them in the club in some shape or form, i mean if giggs is in charge of player development or chief scout you can be sure when we’re linked with a player he’ll be the real deal.
