Sunderland-vs-Manchester--001Manchester United won’t have to play against Adam Johnson when they take on Sunderland tomorrow, after the winger was sacked after pleading guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one charge of grooming earlier this week.

The former Manchester City player admitted having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old, and it was revealed in court today that, despite claiming otherwise to the police, he knew her age before getting involved with her.

The schoolgirl, who was in Year 10 at the time, is a Sunderland fan and reached out to her hero on Facebook. He organised to meet up with her to give her a signed a shirt, inviting her in to his black Range Rover in a secluded spot near a Chinese takeaway close to her home.

After she left, he text her the girl, saying: “Thought I would have got a thank you kiss for the shirt,” and when she replied thanking him, his response was: “No problems. You owe me lol.”

The next time they met, the girl gave him a blow job and he fingered her. Afterwards he text her: “Wasn’t bad was it? Lol.”

After Johnson’s guilty plea, Sunderland released a statement.

In light of Adam Johnson’s guilty pleas, the club has today terminated his contract with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment.
