FA statement: “At an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Manchester United’s Rafael Da Silva was fined £8,000 and warned as to his future conduct. Rafael admitted a charge of improper conduct relating to his behaviour towards match official Mike Dean following his sending off in Manchester United’s game against Tottenham Hotspur on 16 January 2011.”

Man Utd News 24/7

expected a 3 game ban from the ABU FA donkeys
Good to hear. It means he’ll only miss the Brum game, right?
As much as Wes Brown is a crowd favourite (and I do quite like Brown), Rafael is easily our best right-back by a mile. He’ll play a huge part this season, especially now that Neville can’t really be used any more.
I hear rumours that Barca are reaching a point with Dani Alves’ contract talks where he seems bent on milking them. Looks like he’s trying to get himself into Manchester City and get a big payday before he hits 30. Barca seem to be looking to replace him with Rafael. It is not good news. What’s with these Spanish teams and their coveting of our best players?
shouldn’t even be getting a 1 game ban he had every right to be pissed, ref’s a fuck up our players get punished, maybe the fa should look into everytime this prick refs a utd game bad things happen to us.
Great news. Now the bitters and guuners will say Fa cunts support you.It was never a issue but Fa just over hyped just because it was a united player.
RAFAEL WILL KILL THE BLACKPOOL
justice prevailed
I’m taking up a collection for the operation to both Mike Dean’s eyes. Good lesson for Rafa’s future though – I hope he learns to control his passion (which is what makes him such an exciting player in the first place), so that he can make that right back position his forever.
I love how the papers report it as “escaping” a 1 match ban. AS if he should have gotten more but managed to weasel out of it.
The only weasel here is Mike Dean, his Chelsea blue collar showing under his ref’s kit.
He did the right thing. Just because a bunch of cunts get away with talking back to the ref doesn’t make it right. Even if the blind biased arsehole deserves it it’s not right. It’s not good sense either, you don’t want to get a rep for that sort of thing.
Good. Hope he learns from this so that we dont have any problem with him getting stupidly sent off in the future.
This IS surprising. Now I know its our year. Even the FA being sensible towards our players.
Wow, a real shock this. I was sure that at least a 2 game ban was headed Rafael’s way. The moral of the story is to plead guilty and take the fine!
I hope Fabio gets the nod tomorrow as alluded to in my preview:

2-0 comfortable win
@Walter you not the only one mate, those spanish clubs make me sick, anyway I have a feeling the Da Silva twins will be our wingback brothers of our new generation replacing the ever popular and legendary Neville brothers!
Common sense at the FA? Wow!
Hargreaves Curly Hair – Yeah they are great full backs but that Marnick Vermajl looks some player as well.
Wow ,i commented a 12 match ban, like to add Evra gets a month ban too!!!
LOL ,ssense and sensibility ,,grovel ,they like it they let u off but ask for some pocket money .
WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Growing into a top class right back. Also, Fuck the FA!
There was a carbon copy tackle in the Arse Leeds cup replay and Dean the wanker didn’t even book the man, sagna I think it was. Bullshit that Rafael even got sent off in the first place.
Still think it’s ridiculous that Dean didn’t at least get demoted a couple games for such a bad call. Obviously he knew it was stupid call because he didn’t book Sagna for a similar foul the next time up but, a bit late for us now.
At that point we were planning on bringing Scholes on and who knows we could have been more open for Spurs to score or we may have gone ahead scored ourselves but, we’ll never know now due to the sheer incompetence of one man.
