Nobody Buying Owen’s Shirt?? Why Not?

The Sun has claimed today that Manchester United fans aren’t keen on our new signing, which has been proven by the ‘tumbleweed blowing across the club shop in reaction to Owen’s free transfer’.

“As far as I know, no one has asked for an Owen shirt,” said a worker from the megastore. “We haven’t got his number yet which might have had an effect.”

Oh might it? You think? Is it not usual practice for fans to get a player’s name and number on the back of their shirt? Christ, it’s not rocket science! Of course nobody is going to get Owen on their shirt when they don’t know which number he will be playing in yet.

Whilst The Sun is being unfair printing this story now, do you think United fans will object to having Owen’s name on their shirt?

  12. Trevor says:

There is alot of people out there wanting owen to fail and for United to Fall flat on their face! Time and time again Fergie and United prove all their doubters wrong!

Lets get one thing straight – OWEN DOESNT HAVE A SQUAD NUMBER YET!!!!!

Most People Buy shirts with Numbers… BLAH BLAH BLAH!!

My Last point, Owen is a Manchester United Player – What ever he has done in the past, even if he had a previous 10 goals per game ratio i dont care! Its what he does on the pitch Now that Counts. I am fully behind him as all of our players (although i do have ones who i dont like, but due to their performances and ability!!)

The tabloids are like parasites who publish these stories to simply gain circulation by playing with fan emotions! In my opinion the story was way premature and rubbish! Did you know they also claimed a comparison with the number of shirts they would print for Rooney! Lol
Here is an article I wrote on 11Reds about giving Owen a fair chance! Since you are generally so anti Owen so thought of postin it: http://11reds.com/opinion/give-owen-a-fair-chance/
