Ste68 – I get your concerns and I share them to a point. United have quality up front already with Berba and Rooney who will obviously be the first choice. Owen and Wellbeck will split the rest of the time with Kiko coming on when he can.

Would I have liked a better more “prestigious” signing, of course. But who would have come at a reasonable price? Benzema was over priced, Villa is over priced, hell Ronaldo was over priced but that is the game this summer thanks to Madrid. United decided not to play it and find the next best thing available. We got a quality midfielder who provides for others rather than score for himself and a player out to prove something who was fantastic when he played with quality. Considering the financial conditions of United and the economy at large this seems like a responsible decision.

Fletcher had a break out season and has out played many quality midfielders. He allows Carrick, Anderson, and Scholes to play more creatively because of his defensive abilities and understanding of the game/tactics. We are not suggesting he would have “out played” those two quality midfielders simply that he would have slowed them down.

It is unfair to comment on Hargo’s injuries as we have no idea how he will return and in what quality. If your studying in England your no doctor so don’t speculate on his chances.

I am glad you have taken such an interest in our club and its fans feelings. Barca have enough on their plate next season without worrying about United. Worry about United in March (most likely). Let us worry, you worry and enjoy your success. SO for now do us a favor, piss off.

If your a barcelona fan i am sure you can understand that Fans come in all sizes, from all backgrounds! Some are sensible and some lack common sence! Some cant even spell their own fucking name! But they love football! Being a football fan is all about Supporting the Team and Having an Opinion!!!

You cant also tar them all with the same brush! I can remember when Figo signed for real, the first match he played against Barcelona some Idoit thought it was a normal thing to do and chucked a Pigs Head at him!!…

To be honest lads i am totaly shocked but thinking about it!

Pros

Owen is a World Class Striker – On his day!
Has a proven track record in the Premier League.
Has previously proven that Rooney & Owen have a good Striking Relationship.
He is free!
Low Salary!

Cons
Has been unlucky with Fitness the last 2 years although Keane did his knee! We didnt right him off! He came back strong!

Time will tell!

In honesty i dont think that his time at newcastle can be judged for what he done. Owen is a goal scorer, He doesnt create many goals himself but takes the chances provided to him. During his time at newcastle how many chances were provided to him???? In comparison if you put him in our team how many chances will the likes of Rooney, Scholes, Nani, Valencia, Giggs, Carrick, Evra & Anderson Be providing him!

If this signing works it could prove to be the signing of the season!!!

I think we just have to trust Sir Alex! He is the one who knows best! He has 100Mil to spend and one thing he wont do is waste it! Some fans want Major Signings but that for me doesnt work! I did want a striker and now we have owen so i dont think we need another! We can invest in the remainder of the team, maybe another winger.. If we dont then we can always keep the money in the bank for the next exceptional ronaldo or Messi that comes along!
