usama i was like you but at the end of the day we have to trust SAF knows what hes doing, also i dont think this will be our only signing this transfer window
I never though i would see this sight. Granted he is classier than Robby Fowler, but he is not the answer to our problems.
If you think United fans are pissed/confused/bewildered, imagine what the scals are goin’ through at the moment.
You’re a spastic if you’re shitting yourself over this move. He’s a wonderful 3rd choice and he’ll be happy to prove both you and everyone else wrong. It’s a genius move to allow Welbeck and Macheda time to age and eventually slot in.
Does the jersey look too big for him?? Not metaphorically or anything, but he is quite small. Also *insert muppetry here….benzema blah blah blah villa, aguero blah blah*
Those have to be some of the most surreal pictures that I’ve ever seen.
Costas But hes that out and out striker that many have said we have been lacking since RVN/Saha left, at the end of the day hes different to Berba and Rooney and will provide us something different off the bench.
Billy Meredith, i spent the day with 3 Liverpool fans and all i can say is they have it far worse!
That means that are striking options are set for next year, Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Macheda, Welbeck. I really cant see the latter three chipping in a whole hell of a lot of goals, Rooney and Berba need to form the partnership that we all know they can. It must be horrible for the dippers, imagine Nicky Butt signing for liverpool.
@THIS_IS_MANCHESTER: I am not denying that he plays in a position we are lacking. But so does Crouch. In the vote, i said that i am concerned about our ambitions. I won’t bash the club for missing out on Benzema, but from him to Owen there is a huge gap.
This is all just very interesting. I’m curious to see what will happen; he’s more of a goal poacher type striker, and the fact that he was at Newcastle playing with subpar players made it difficult for him to get any chances. He could be a big surprise, and if hes terrible: he was free.
well fuck me, who’d have thought!!!
He looks like the Cat who got the cream, I wish him well but am hoping for a few more top-class players to join hopefully a midfielder and a young whipper snapper like Costa.
Interesting move. Makes sense if you think about it.
1 Rooney
2 Berbatov
3 Owen
4 Macheda
(Plus Wellbeck of course)
Means we have one experienced top level striker and one emerging talent in reserve. Much like Sheringham/Solskjaer back in the Cole/Yorke days.
And it’s not a risk financially as he’s a free on a low basic wage boosted by appearance/goal bonuses.
Must admit I’d like to see Huntelaar join too though.
viva micheal owen,
viva micheal owen,
used to play for the scum,
now you mancunian,
viva michael owen!
them pictures are quality . don t think many newspapers will be sold on merseyshite tomorrow .
Granted, rooney gets to play in the hole more frequently
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul3r.html
We’ve apparently signed this young wop?
Gnna be a great signing, goal ratio of 1 every 2 games at newcastle…
Imagine if he stays fit at United.
With him being cheaper than Paul Robinson (west brom) should be the signing of the season.
I think it is a fantastic move by Sir Alex. To recieve a proven goalscorer like Michael Owen on a free transfer is a huge bonus. He will add loads of experience to our exceptional youth talent waiting in the wings, he wants to prove everybody wrong, he wants to regain his England spot and finally, will be paired up with his old England strike partner, Wayne Rooney!! Well done Sir Alex! Now lets sign El Kun
Also think of the experience he brings to the likes of Welbeck, Macheda etc. – a bit like Laurent Blanc did for the defence… Give the Gaffer the benefit of the doubt, he knows what he is doing!
People criticise foreign mercenaries but fuck me Owen is a spineless player. The way he behaved at Newcastle in the end, playing like a gutless parasite taking 110,000 grand a week, and now waving a Utd flag about given his 11 years at Anfield, who he also deserted, doesn’t fill me with excitement to see the mercenary wear the jersey.
We must trust Fergie, I said that Fergie would do one of his “who the fuck?” signing. Own isn’t quite a “who the fuck is he” signing but certainly falls into that kind of signing.
Signing Owen on a free isn’t exactly going to inspire me. One thing I am enjoying is imaging how the scum are taking it.
One thing that can’t happen, never let Owen anywhere near the No.7 Shirt. That would really make me sick.
THIS IS ME TRYING TO TYPE AS FAST AS MUTV HAYLE AND MICHEAL OWEN CAN SPEAK
(MO7 IS A WINDUP FOR THE NEGITIVE BUNCH)
a couple of days ago this wasnt in my wildest dreams and then i got the call from the manager tocome around and meet himand i was ovousily very happy and everything has moved from there
question:what did the manager say to ya
mo7:we talked football really the pros and cons of signing himself and thankfully there was more pros of me signing in his eyes, but football really
my agent and david gill discused the rest but i just wanted to talk footballand im delighted to have signed
question:at the end of last season did you think you would be playing for manchester united this season
mo7:no ive known in the past , i came here a couple of times in the past an i played in a turnment as a kid for manchester united(suck on that dippers) and i know brian kidd quiet well, and in the last few years you sorta talk to players and i had a bit of an idea that the manager still taught i had somethingso i just cling to that hope that he’d ask me to to play for him but id a poor spell at newcastle and im sure a top club like thi can reignight my carrer score goals and help MY team to more success
question :fitness
i think people were surprised about the results of my physical
but im fit and helthy
i could name half a dosen united payers who broke there metatarcle but its my plans to improve and the medical staff here are topnotch
question :laying with rooney+berbatov
mo7:there are so many top players at a club like thisits a very exciting time for meright trueout the squad there are fantastic players because there a fantastic team and i can hopefully jump on there bandwaggon and score more goals
question :hopes at united
mo7:when you think man united you think winners
/
the stadium the fans but till ya sign ya dont think but i signed 10 mins ago so on my car ride home ill get excited
question:are you looking foward to fans getting behind you
mo7: im not silly i know there’ll be some fans(not ghtt) that say maybe the manager shouldnt have signed
but as soon as my first game ill do my talking on the pitch starting with a bang.hopfully, in the pre season
I can’t take it ! but fergie started war against dippers ,which FSW couldn’t sign moaner heinze…WE ARE OVERTAKING DIPPERS! 19th time & Still counting…but in the end success is so hard but so sweet when we achive!
ONE UNITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done Sir Alex! The perfect strike partner for Wayne Rooney. And for free!!!
For all you Michael owen haters just remember your negative reactions towards his signing when he scores his first goal for us..
Great bit of business – I hate the fact that he was a scouser but when the boy is fit and playing games he scores goals – his record speaks volumes – and if he stays fit then we will have 2-seasons of 20 plus goals out of him – fuck benzema – the kid was shite at the Euro’s
Ditto Belfast77
Him being an ex-liverpool player makes the signing even better.
I think this is going to be a good signing he will bag us 20 goals +. He is what we have been lacking for a season or two.And who better to poach goals than michael owen. Trust fergie he knows what he is doing good buisness if you ask me.He saving 80 mill for some special players only fergie knows who they are but they will come in time.
listen to the haters
see you next may when the guys a god
i might even get his name on my jersey
long sleave rooney
short sleave owen
Wat a brainwave ……wat a signing Hats off to Sir Alex.
I understand the reasons why most f u guys are skeptical abt the signing . But if u remove our liverpool hatred lenses and look at the signing u will undestand:
1. We have one of The (if not the best ) finisher in English game .(Torres might hae a say…)
Some might argue tat he was shit at Newcastle . But who was’nt shit there every one from the top echelon were shit there . I couldnt see any decent thru balls r build p play the entire season . Even corners didnt go past the first defender . Wat dyu expect owen to do then . He was then played in a withdrawn fwd position in a 3 man attack and he looked the most decent man on pitch . Look at the picture a fwd needs confidence but owen’s confidence was at his last ebb mainly due to the players around him.How do u expect him to score goals when the only peice of play newcastle could manage was hitting the ball to the clouds.
2. He has played 30 games last season
Some cite owen is injury prone . Yes i accept it but 30ganes is a decent return and moreover he is gonna be a forth choice super sub in UTD setup. So 30 games will do and he may churn up more games as he will be rotated around
3. Workrate
Some compare his work rate with Tevez. I bet people have been fooled many times by the argie running around like a headless chicken . Owen is quicker and more clinical than the argie . Tevez’s finishing is bullshit . Owen at his best will work the center halves more than Drogba .
4. Offside trap
In my 20 yrs of watching football i think owen is the best player to play on the shoulder of last defender . He is the best player in beating offside traps
Fergie(Master)stroke:
He will play his heart out to impress capello to get into the world cup team . He knows only to score goals he’ll do it .We had many shots at goals last year but we couldnt score many goals because of poor finishing . This guy will be the ultimate poacher we are looking for.
For God’s sake we have a gem of a player whose career has gone awry at a comedy club . He has signed for us and its up to cheer him to get the best out of him for ur teams sake. I know the papers will be laughing and bashing abt us signing owen . Some headlines may say : RONALDO REPLACED BY OWEN …..But believe in Sir alex we’ll be signing more player’s . My ideal list would be
1. Felipe melo
2. Cassano(both melo and cassono are must)
3. Silva
4. Dzeko r Fabiano r Marcus berg(my vote)
5. Huddlestone
6. rodwell
he played as a kid for manchester united
never knew that
micheal owen or valencia dont have numbers yet
im gonna read between the lines and say uniteds number 7may still be on the way and the reason those 2 dont have numbers is so no one clicks that theres a big time 7 on the way
Small point but one that pissed me off nonetheless. He walks into Carrington wearing a T-shirt that simply reads UMBRO in big letters. He really is a bit of a dick. United > England
LMFAO!!!
Great signing, our physios have been getting it easy since saha left, time for them to earn their money again! fingers crossed im wrong though!!
cant doubt saf on this one!
Haha classic! “Im sure a top club like this can reignite my career , score goals and help MY club to success” he already feels at home haha. Im sure all the fans whingin that weve signed him will soon change their tunes when he’s scorin goals for US! cos im sure half of them still think he plays for liverfool
Leave out the fact he played for the dippers…in all other respects this is a sound bit of business…proven goalscorer, zero transfer fee, performance related pay, two year deal…
Let’s be honest, it’s unlikely that he’s going to be first choice…but potentially what a class player for cover and to come off the bench…United will get a decent return from this investment…imagine, ‘Who put the ball in the Dippers net?’…
Rooney should be given the no7, owen then be given 10! Rooney is a ledgend, worthy of the jersey and he is now united through and through.
agree with terry08anelka!!
Rooney next number 7
terry08anelka
the number 10 shirt has as much history as the 7
if rooney got the 7 he’d of wore best law and charltond number
Hes a dick cos hes wearing an umbro t-shirt? What a load of shit. Hes our player now so lets get behind him and hope it ends up being a masterstroke by Sir Alex
Alberto Massacci is the latest 16-year-old Italian to be ‘poached’ by Manchester United, confirms the defender.
he’s sponcered by umbro
was beckham a dick for wearing adidas shirt whn he was playing for united
somehow it feels wrong, but I’m quite happy that we signed him
why didnt we get MARTINS instead?
i do not believe this! desperate move by SAF to make up the numbers for our squad next season? fragile man manages to pass our “stringent medical test”? clears my doubt that my grandma can pass it too!!!
GHTT
I Agree that 10 does have a lot f history too, but there is something special about the no 7, Ronaldo didnt want it until he was told about the history behind it!! Just think we’re not going to sign anyone who will be worthy of it
His signing also now gives us the goal scoring poacher we need. With bringing in Valencia on the wing its important we have strikers who are going to actually be in the box when crosses come in. For all Rooneys, Berbas and Tevez class they all tended to drop way to deep during games. To may times last year we would put crosses in and nobody was there to get on the end of them, Owen now gives us an extra dimension up front.
And for the muppets who keep on banging on about his injury record take a look at Wes Browns past injuries. Hes still loved by Utd fans and has spent more time in the treatment room than anyone else and nobody saying hes shit because of it.
I cant believe some so called fans are already having a go at Owen cos he was wearing an umbro t-shirt. Whats next? You dont like his hair? Get behind the lad for fucks sake. He’ll do a lot better for us if he has our support from day one
Seeing the pictures now, i can understand a little bit of how the people that don’t want him feel, it does seem weird.
@ terry08anelka
I reckon Valencia will get the number 7 shirt, he’s got all the natural attributes to develop into a world class winger he’s got pace he’s strong his crossing is fantastic and he knows how to beat a defender.
With the experience that he will get next season i think that he can go on to be as good as beckham and ronaldo have been in recent years, i knw a few ppl might laugh at that but i really do rate this guy.
Whats this talk of a goal every 2 games for newcastle? Its more like a goal every 3 games.
I wasn’t sure at first but the more i think about it the more i like it. I think he will do well. Although it will take me some time to get used to seeing him in a United shirt. He’s one of ours now so lets get behind him and that includes you Scott.
I think owen should get ole’s number 20 he will be our super sub now
i am disguisted, a Scouse in my back yard, this has to be a bad dream, a real nightmare for me…
BTW: when was the last time he played some decent football… back at madrid or at Liverpool, for Christ sake!!
+£25 million Annual transfer budget
+£80 million Ronaldo Sale
-£16 million Valencia Buy
= £89 million to spend!
^^^^Nah, can’t agree. After Solskjaer wore it, we need someone more deserving of it, definitely NOT Owen.
“Whats this talk of a goal every 2 games for newcastle? Its more like a goal every 3 games.”
That’s still a fuckton more than Tevez gets.
hmm. a few days ago this would’ve never seemed possible, yet now he’s a united player. if he stays injury free and score 20 next season, i’ll be happy. if he doesn’t, then, it’s alright, free transfer anyway.
i think he should get number 32. just in case he flopped, but i hope not. i reckon fergie’s looking for an attacking midfielder now. i say we get silva and give him the number 7.
weird seeing him in a utd shirt, a lot worse for the scousers tho!! ha
what about ibrahimovic?
big ego but a great player
Well as the saying goes “Could be worse….”
oh shit, wait!
Not ibrahimovic! hes berbas less talented clone!
When do we find out what numbers owen and valencia get?
yer i agree ibrahimovic is good but theres a lot of players out there that are just as good, he’s extremely overated by mourinho
Brilliant signing. always liked him even tho hes an ex-Liverpool player
A backup striker with a proven track record at big clubs and at international.
A FREE TRANSFER!!!
JUDAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In its a little off topic but has anyone else realised that our away and third its were only 08-09 kits. when will the other tops come out :S?
Fergie is quite obviously switching back to a 4-4-2 with Rooney, Berba and Owen sharing the duties of the two strikers (neither of the latter two have the pace to play in a 4-3-3) On that basis, I think there is no need to worry about Wayne being pushed back out to the front left side. I sense the manager knows it is now time to make him the fulcrum of the team. I do hope he now becomes the penalty and free-kick taker. The sight of him standing over the ball at every dead ball situation with ‘I saw my mate…’ bellowing around Old Trafford would just be unbelievable!
Big shame thought that the counter-attacking/ roaming forward movement of the 4-3-3 Ronaldo/Tevez/Rooney era is over. It made 07/08 such a special, special year and not just for the trophies but for the way we played. I would therefore love to see Quieroz (who appears to have been responsible for this style of play) back at the club at some point.
After thinking about this all day, I’ve also come to the same conclusion as everyone else; He’ll be a good signing, if he stays injury free that is and he’ll atleast be somesort of role model for the younger players.

Lol not really, I’m glad he joined ya’ll
He has the potential to be a cancer in the team and I for one hope he meets that potential!
@Rick Mell
There is a chance that Carlos comes back. Portugal might not qualify for the World Cup & I think he might be looking for a job in Fall !
Here’s one for you… He could be the first scouser to win the league in 19yrs!!
)
Or at least, a former Liverpool player.
I’m sure someone will prove me wrong… But regardless, I’m sure it would piss the dippers off even more!!
Wow cant believe v actually signed him! Gr8 move fergie! Show Real Mad-rid that a team is not made of only big names…u need a genius and we’ve got Fergie and uv got who?? Pellegrini??? Hahahaha
I think i just threw up my dinner. Just Joking. Welcome to Utd Owen.
congratulations on pinching him from under the nose of hull.
I think i just threw up my dinner after seeing that pics. Just Joking. Welcome (hesitant) to Utd Owen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpuvB2Yg5A0
His first interview
I never considered him as an option as I thought Fergie would go for either Benzema (overpriced and overrated), Kun Aguero (overpriced), Franck Ribery (massively overrated and massively overpriced)
Hes “pulled a Larsson” as it were.
Nani, Valencia, Owen, Rooney, Berbatov, Tosic. What a choice!!!
I still dont feel well about this, theres just something wrong…
On the brightside hes free, and he cant be any worse at backing up Berbatov and Rooney than Welbeck and Macheda
Just as long as he plays as a BACK UP it would be completly wrong if he played him centre and Rooney out left, that would just be sick
Wayne wonder Rooney
Pellegrini is a class coach. He basically turned Villarreal into a top side in Spain.
That said, he’ll completely fuck up at Real Madrid because I doubt he can handle the egos there, + I guarantee he didn’t realise he’d be getting Kaka/Ronaldo etc.
I’m just wondering, is our financial situation starts to bite us ???? Are the glazers responsable for our lack of TRUE signing this summer or Sir Alex ferguson dosent want to be held for ransom??? for God’s sake how on earth we missed on Benzema .
tbh its a suprise that real madrid havnt tried to lure mourinho to the berneubea with this neverending stack of cash they seem to be pulling out their arses, with that said Pellegrini is a top class coach although im not sure he went to madrid thinking hed be managing the likes of kaka benzema AND ronaldo.
Im sure he’d much rather try and build his own team like SAF has done time and time again.
lets bring back butt and smudger now! free the newcastle 2!
If nothing else, we can look at it this way… He might be the first liverpool player (albeit, ex player!) to win the league in 19yrs!!
Imagine how much that would get up their noses!!?
)
well, what else can be said about saf taking a risk with a scouser.. ok he has the credentials on paper to at least bag a few goals for us this forthcomming season.. but has he still got the heart. if we can get behind him they way we did with smudger , then im sure we will all take a shine to the little fker
Michael Owen in a Manchester United shirt, i never thought i’d see the day.
fucking hilarious, the scousers are truly fucked off. priceless just like the transfer
Rooney and Owen – 22 goals between them for Ingerlund in 25 starts!
I think Fergie has brought him in as a direct replacement for Tevez.Carlitos played too deep for us continually looking for the ball!Whereas Owen plays up the field on the last defenders shoulders almost! So,for me he’s a good signing!I wouldn’t like him to have the 7 shirt or Valencia!I think Costa should wear it,He’ll be the best player on the planet in the future, playing for the Champions of World football, both domestically for us and nationally for Brazil.I’d still like us to go for Sanchez too.
Wow the shirt looks so crap!
Sid you ever think you’d see the day that a player who will score for united and the united fans will cheer his name is on the door of anfaileds not so mega store holding the Riga cup over his head it’s a great free signing for united and a dropkick in the teeth for the dippers
i think owen is a great signing…. a good stop gap for the next two years…. let macheda and welbeck develop into toop class strikers that we know they can become… benzema would have been great but i feel that then that would have stifled the growth of macheda who i believe is europe’s next big thing.. so missing out on his is a bummer… owen is proven pedigree and lets hope this is the kick up the ass he needs to get back to his scoring ways!
I have to agree. This is one f**king ugly shirt!
…Or is it the player who wears it? LOL
I’d rather have Becks back .
why do some of you keep going about YOU TUBE costa? not too sure about him at all.
plus how will he cope in england?
as for sanchez what do you think he will settle imediately.?
i dont think there is a lot of exciting players out there.
aguero yes but will he adapt? plus 51 mill pounds no way.
ribery maybe but i agree a bit overrated.
villa yes but he is no torres. a fit owen = villa.
apart from these no one really.
For all those who believe in the newspapers that we missed out on Benzema, please wear your glasses and find me any info that suggest we actually went for that guy. For me, I have never read anything at all to suggest we ever went for him. So we DID NOT lose out! And for a prick that he is, flirting with just about every club, I say I’d take Owen anyday over him
I want to see him kiss the badge when he scores his first goal!!!
Wake me up, I’m having a nightmare!
i love the new shirt.
cannot wait for the team photo.
team to start against valencia at OT.:
foster
rafael evans vidic evra
anderson carrick
valencia nani
rooney
OWEN
exciting team isnt it? experience plus youth.
ONLY ONE THING JUST ONE PLEASE SIR ALEX APPOINT A NEW ASSISTANT MANAGER PLEASE.
actually quite excited..
cant wait till he scores against the dippers PRICELESS..
I’m well happy we’ve signed owen and to repeat the phrase I heard about 4 billion times on MUTV ‘He knows where the back of the net is’
Knightsmith earlier suggested we also sign Dean Windass, I agree with him as they are both fat and past it. While we are about the business of buying crap centre forwards I believe Gary Birtles still has a pair of boots and is also out uf contract and could be signed for free. Jeez this is one big pain in the arse!!!!
We say we are the biggest club in the world, is the CROCK Owen the best we could do?
So kapti14.. No more signings?
Tony Starks sign who?
is there anyone out there that wants to play for us , is talented, will adapt and not cost the earth.
Dont worry there will be more signings there has to be with all that money! At least we have started now, I think we will sign someone who the press have not been going on about.. maybe Silva from Valencia (for a few years before he goes off to Real as another Galactico!)
Okay Valencia (for Ronaldo) and Owen (for Tevez)…stop arsing about Sir Alex and start to splash the cash, £80m must be burning a hole in the pocket now…Aguerro (need a playmaker desperately), Douglas (take a risk SAF like you did with Ronnie) and Huntelaar (this kid would come back to haunt Madrid given the chance, see if RVN would like to rejoin too and become his mentor!!) In SAF we trust!!!!
This signing reeks of utter desperation, even the most hard-faced United fan must be able to admit that? It’s hysterical that when City were being linked with him he was ‘a crock, not worth his wages, another joke signing’, yet when United go for him it’s ‘a canny buy, a more-than-adequate replacement for Tevez, another piece of good business from The Wizard’.
LOL.
YES! We can’t fail to win the quadruple now. Owen (injured for half a decade), Giggs, (44), Scholes (43), Nani, a couple of Serbian kids we paid about £19m for, John O’Gay, Kusczack, Spokesman Neville (42), Dimitar Veron, Trafford Park, some winger from Wigan and a load of second-rate Brazilian and Portuguese kids, WHAT A SQUAD!
@ Ted Knott i dunno if its good business or not. but one thing is sure SIR ALEX IS NOT FAR AWAY FROM A WIZARD.
THAT I AM SURE OF.
wow hong kong red u r a wonderful fan?
such belief in the manager wow?
Fuck off Hong Kong Red with your negative shit.
Come on michael! I wld luv it if you scored a hattrick agnst the dippers. Actually just 1 goal would do it for me!
It’s becoming embarrassing that (if they do pull off the signings of Tevez & Eto’o as expected, even rumours that Terry might somehow, though i haven’t the foggiest why, be a goer, aswell) that City will have amassed a squad within a year that p*sses on ours from a great height. I never thought i’d see the day come when the clubs were going in such obviously different directions, this is CIDDY we’re talking about, they’re bobbins! Pull your fingers out Alex, Gill, the board, get the likes of Ribery & Aguero on board, we need to finish at least in the top four next season.
Looking for Derek – “A better squad ” Are you taking the piss mate? A bunch of fucking mercenaries who have only one thing on their mind……..money. We have a better defence, midfield and are you seriously saying that you think Santa Cruz and Bellamy are better than Wazza and Berbatov? Get real. They will NOT get Eto’o or Terry and as for Tevez, Owen has a better goals per game ratio. As for the depth in squad ours pisses all over theirs. I cannot understand some people on here!
Ribery and Aguero? Why the fuck should Sir Alex spend silly money on these two when they have no desire to play for us just to appease fans like you? You are maybe happy to spend £60 million on Ribery who is worth 25 at best and play him even though he wants to be at the Fascists, luckily for United Sir Alex does not. As for Maradona’s son in law have we not learned our lesson regarding the “weak” Argies?
just think of this….Scousers away….the 90th minute….the ball falls to owen…he scores…he runs to the kop and kisses the united badge….PRICELESS…
FAO: King Eric
Let’s now lower ourselves here by comparing our first choice forwards to City’s third choice pairing. Would i rather have Robinho, Eto’o & Tevez then Berbatov, Rooney & Owen, of course i would, as would most fans. City, as much as i hate them, have three of the best, say, ten forwards in world football (Tevez scored 35 in 71 starts here, let’s not forget), and as backup they’ve got Bellamy, Santa Cruz & SWP, all proven Premier League players.
Regards them being mercinaries, well, let’s be honest, Berbatov’s said to be on £90k a week, and Rooney £130k, not as if our own are playing for peanuts. City will have to pay a premium because they’re not in Europe at the moment, but they sure as hell will be, probably in the place of one of us Big Four. Owen’s goal ratio means nothing, he’s started 70 games in four years, Tevez did that in two. 17/18 games a season, well, not sure we can read too much into it, pal.
I’m crapping myself, pal, honestly. We’re penny-pinching and they’re spending big. I worry about us, i really do, we may’ve snuck the title this year but i think we were flattering to deceive. Ferguson’s time is coming to an end. We need fresh blood, desperately.
They have not got Eto’o yet mate and very much doubt they will. What makes you so sure they are gonna gel? Do you honestly think the likes of John Terry and Eto’o are Hughes choice? No they are just being picked by the owners off a wish list similar to that of Madrid but on a lower scale. I would not worry at all about them and to suggest that Sir Alex’s time has come to an end is a joke. We have just won 3 league titles on the spin, 2 champions league finals, a Carling Cup, World club cup and it is time for him to finish? Look at the young talent we have , Valencia will prove a quality buy and as for Owen, I have never been a fan but keep him fit and he WILL score goals. There could be more to come in but we will be fine with what we have.
As for wages Rooney deserves every penny of his and with Citeh we are not talking £90,000 a week, they have been said to have offered Tiny Tears £300,000 per week. It’s not quite the same.
Can you compare their defence to ours,LookingForDerek??
King Eric:You’re on RoM at 4:26 in the morning?!?

im not too happy
