Oh No, We’ll Have A Fresher Evra Now

Patrice Evra has lost his appeal to overturn a 5 match international ban imposed by the French Football Federation for his part in France’s shambolic World Cup stint.

“The Appeals High Commission, which met today to consider the appeal by the player Patrice Evra, has decided to confirm the five-match sanction for non-selection by Team France,” said a statement on the FFF official website.

Evra has already missed two games for his country and if the ban doesn’t include friendlies, our left-back wouldn’t be able to play until June 2011.

Of course I’m disappointed for him because clearly, after being named captain over the summer, the national team is important to him. But from our perspective, the decision to uphold the ban is very good news indeed.

A deserved ban. However unhappy the players were the strike was out of order. Good for united though. Evra is one of the best in his position so we need him fresh. He also plays over 5
    games every season

  9. King Eric says:

Ha. Derserved my arse. You cannot give some players an 18 game, some a 5 and some not at all regardless if he was Captain. Anyway could not give a fuck. Just chuffed Evra is fully concentrated on United. Is it really till June 2011? That is fantastic.

  10. King Eric says:

Is anyone REALLY surprised at the strike? Domenech is a fucking idiot.

    Great news!

Ah the French, at least they have won something. Feel they will be rebuilding for years from this. Sad to say, Pat isn’t as strong a shoe in as the future United Captain as I think he let himself down a bit with this mess. Still, United>France.

looks like Ando has twisted his ankle, shouldn’t be too serious

  21. willierednut says:

GHTT – I don’t think Mickey Phelan will be worried tbh, I personally don’t Querioz back at United, he’s walked out twice now and Mickey P and Rene are doing a good job, keep the status quo i say.

  22. FletchTHEMAN says:

Get in MNU 2 SC 0

  23. parryheid says:

  24. Terrystears says:

Is ando ok? Should we be worried his ligaments have gone again? Sorry but I’m unable to watch the reserve game! Also anyone got any news on rio? I thought he would be in the lineup tonight?

To hell with the France NT, this is great news for us.

  26. denton davey says:

It seems that the anti-UTD bias comes along as part of the “FA” – Engish or French. And the frogs are doing just great without Patrice, too. NOT.

  27. denton davey says:

Oh, excuse me, they beat the Faroe Islands or Lichtenstein or some other powerhouse. Laurent Blanc doesn’t look so good.

  28. denton davey says:

On a related note, it seems that there is a groundswell to give the Ingerland captain’s arm-band to StevieGBH. I like and support that idea – maybe it will help Rio wake up, smell the coffee, and realize that the club pays his wages.

  29. RedScot says:

Brilliant that will be another 50 plus season for United. Merci FFF.

  31. RedGem says:

We love you at United, Pat..forget Les Blues for now.

    Ando injured again?

  32. King Eric says:

Alleged;y Ando hopped over a fence after the game so looks fine. Morrison had a decent game, full of tricks and a good brain.

denton – Yeah the love for Stevie me is frankly sickening. All these cunts saying how Ingerlund IS Stevie and so on. Do me a favour, the man is a cunt.

  33. parjo says:

I feel sorry for Fabio. Unless Evra has (knock on wood) injury, he’ll only probably have 4-5 EPL games this season.

  34. Passe says:

    true
