Otelul Galati vs Manchester United: Must win for United; footballing lesson for Galati

Manchester United travel to Romania to face UEFA Champions League debutantes Otelul Galati as the visitors seek to finally secure their first win in Group C. Alex Ferguson’s men are definitely favorites here unless the Romanians can come up with a shocker. Check out the football betting offers and place your bet where you see fit.

Last season’s runners-up in the tournament have only amassed two points from as many games so far as they trail Benfica and Basel in the search for a place in the knockout stages of the competition. Meanwhile, the eastern European outfit will be seeking to register their first point in the group table off this David vs. Goliath encounter.

United have scored in each of their last 16 matches and they will look to continue that fine run against the new boys of this tournament.

Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side come into the game with mixed emotions after their hard-earned draw against Liverpool in the Premier League. A late Javier Hernandez goal prevented defeat for the Old Trafford outfit but they still relinquished their hold on top spot in the Premier League table to Manchester City.

The three-time winners rested a number of key players ahead of several important fixtures including Wayne Rooney, Nani as well as the aforementioned Mexican striker. The 19-time league winners are also set to welcome back Nemanja Vidic, who despite playing for Serbia last week in their final Euro 2012 qualifier, missed out on the action at Anfield altogether.

Rio Ferdinand has been completely rested by his manager and he didn’t make the trip across Europe for the crucial match. Tom Cleverley is also doubtful to feature in the clash, as is Rafael but both players are edging closing to full fitness. Otherwise Alex Ferguson has a fully-fit squad.

Ashley Young (left) and Danny Welbeck will hope to add to their tally in the competition after putting in stellar displays against Basel in their last European outing

Oțelul Galați

Otelul Galati will bring an unknown quality to the continental competition as they will seek to spring one of the biggest upsets in Champions League history. However their title-winning form of last season has deserted them and they are now battling mid-table in the Romanian league.

Their final league outing before facing the English giants was last Friday as they slugged out a 1-1 draw with Astra Ploiesti in front of their home crowd. Their attack is most likely to be led Marius Pena, son of legendary Romanian striker George Pena who played for Steaua Bucuresti during their most successful European period in the 1980’s, culminating in them winning the 1986 European Cup.

Galati’s coach, Dorinel Muntenua, has no regular players missing through injury or suspension as he readies his players for the biggest match of their careers to date.

Galati vs United Prediction

Manchester United can’t afford to lose too many points as win will barely take them to the top of their group. Basel and Benfica, both, have a chance to get ahead of United and hold on to the pole position. Ferguson will now be on a hot pursuit. United should win as Otelul Galati failed to secure any points so far.

Getting a win tonight shouldn’t be the most difficult thing in the world.

  3. RedScottX says:

    I need a victory…
I don’t give a fuck how we do it,lets thump this Otelul team..
    Berba’s due a start..
Fergie, please get our selection spot on this time around..
    And no Bullshitting..

  4. Costas says:

Nothing but a win will do.

  5. manc_sam says:

Should be at least a 4 goal margin here, interested to see if he rests nani and rooney again, or did he rest them for that ‘small’ game at anfield to play them in this ‘massive’ game!?

    In fergie we trust… sometimes.

  6. Eddo says:

Berba should play tonight,at least a part if not the whole game..he’s been patient for far too long now..!!

  7. kanchelskis says:

    manc_sam

In many ways this is bigger than the Anfield game,in as much as getting 3 points here is imperative.

A point at Anfield in the league is never a bad result. A point in this match would be disastrous.

  8. sayyidhashim says:

    De Gea

    Smalling Jones Vidic Evra

    Valencia Carrick Anderson Young

    Rooney Berbatov

Subs: Nani, Owen, Chicho, Fletch, Evans, Park, Lindegaard

  9. Sandeep1878 says:

    Good evening faithful red devils,

i m very much confident that we will win tonight but as Jeet put it, we gotta approach the opposition with respect,

we are a professional team and we do that before we go ahead with any game,

i m very much, Sir Alex Ferguson’s main mission is to grab 3 points with a CLEAN SHEET.

so i expect Carrick to start with his usual europe role..

    @ Rohan,

i seriously doubt Berba starting this game :(

i think Danny will be on bench, Roo and Chicha will start the game and it depends on the scoreline after 60 mins whether Berb gets any chance..

the team will get 4 days rest and that is enough to gear up for the derby, so i will be more than suprised if Sir Alex will not start with Rooney and Chicha.

with all due respect to our young defenders, having Vidic back is much more secured, safe and confident we are at the back.

    i m going with a 3 – 0 victory to us,

Rooney, nani and Hernandez to score.

expecting a more disciplined and tight game from our defenders..

Catch u laters ROM babes, back from office, time to cook and then get on with the beautyful red machine..

    UNITED

I don’t want to ridicule anyone but I do find the following extremely amusing:

    GGMU

I mean you know how hard is it to write Go Go Manchester United?

With all due respect to all – I’ve seen a lot of people do this – I would like to add that it is with deep gratification that I am privileged to write Manchester United. I do accept that we can all limit the way we write United but surely a few extra seconds to write the name of the club you love isn’t much of an issue – is it?

Again pardon the uptake of the comment – no hard feelings just an honest point of view.

  11. Mes says:

    Hey folks.

Interesting layout of this post from, erm, Admin?

Anyway, let’s have it tonight. I don’t really give a fuck how it comes, so long as we get the result. Obviously it would be nice if we can get back to how we were playing at the start of the season. I think we will, we just need the full squad back.

Anyway, regarding the one who likes to use the word nigger (apparently)…

I got bored at work so I made this:

    http://i53.tinypic.com/i6dnva.jpg

I think it’s only the Brits that will get it but yeah, Dick Suarez if you please.

  12. sayyidhashim says:

We will beat this team home and away 4-0 in both legs.

We will beat Basle away on the counter attack

We will beat Benfica at home

We will finish top of the group

Don’t worry…City (H) and Everton (A) should be our biggest concern then we have 8 winnable games thereafter

  13. Fred says:

MG – I think it stands for Glory Glory Man United. :D

I don’t like it though – reminds me of how the Scouse always sign off with YNWA. :x

  14. Fred says:

MG – I’m going one further than “MU”, I’m going to abbreviate it simply to “U”.

    Up the U’s!

  18. Fred says:

Turns out this mob have got almost as few black players as Liverpool: http://img.uefa.com/imgml/TP/teams/squad/2012/656×369/50151.jpg

  19. Sandeep1878 says:

Funny Fred is here eh :)

  20. RedHound says:

Barring injury, if Berbatov doesnt start today or at least make the bench, then i will know for sure something is terribly wrong

  21. Fred says:

That comment was unfair. Both clubs have 1 black player in their squads.

  22. aimanunited says:

There’s no excuse for other results than win.
It’s more like we have to win, although Sir Alex seems to prioritize EPL.
Tonight’s lineup will definitely have some changes, i want to see berba, carrick, fabio etc get their chances as well.
I know it’s not easy playing away but we must win this match.
Just hoping that united players doesn’t underestimate the opponent too much and being complacent.
    My prediction galati 0 – 3 united.

  23. redevil_83 says:

Not chuffed with the way we’ve played in recent weeks. true story that injuries have played a part, but fergie’s disgust at how open-attack minded we were playing has curbed team performance. ironically, more focus on defence hasn’t yielded wins either. i wish united go back to the trailblazing start we began the season in. GGMU

  24. CedarsDevil says:

Agreed with MG this whole GGMU thing is annoying….

As for tonight, we WILL win… Qualifying from this group is a mere formality

  25. wayne says:

anywaz anwwi couldn’t agree with MG & Cedars more

  26. T4M says:

Hoping for a win and a match I can enjoy.

  27. parryheid says:

We play the section Aunt Sallies and it’s not enough just to win,I expect us to win with style anything less will show every UCL team how little they need fear us.

  28. CedarsDevil says:

waz u havin a word with me wayne? i wnt us to win so bad 2nite it hurts!

    Hahahahahaha

  29. CedarsDevil says:

To abbreviate means you are abbreviated

  30. WillieRedNut says:

Some do treat this blog like twitter. Hard to read, the unreadable. ;) Do u get waz i said? :)

  31. CedarsDevil says:

    waz u talkng abt Willie?

  32. King Eric says:

RedScottX – No bullshitting? What you on about? Fergie doesn’t need to justify his team selection to anyone.

  33. CedarsDevil says:

I miss both Kings & smartalex….. This blog needs them both

  34. CedarsDevil says:

Fergie justifying himself to anyone is like me describing to my ex wife why I over slept! Never gonna happen nor should it happen

  35. King Eric says:

Cedars – Kings has had enough mate. Sick of the whole thing I think. Fuck all posts from Scott, cunts getting on his back if he dares to have a pop at someone who slates the team without justification. Can see his point entirely. I try and stay away at times and after games NEVER read the live threads that have taken place during the game. I wait till a few hours after.

  36. wayne says:

@Cedars are you not digging the Blog slang in the ROM hood brother
    alol

  37. King Eric says:

Can I just say that Berba wasn’t dropped for Anfield. Fergie said he had picked up a knock or summat.

  38. Balaji Sivaraman says:

This blog needs more grammar nazis like yours truly.

  39. Costas says:

Rooney (hillariously imo) said on twitter that Berbatov was one of those rested at Anfield. So don’t know if he had a knock or not. He wasn’t going to make the bench either way unfortunately. He’s 4th choice and we started with 4-5-1. Didn’t make any sense to have 3 strikers on the bench. Can’t see him starting tonight either. I think I’ll avoid predicting any 11 from now on. It was fun trying to come as close as you can to Fergie’s first XI, but after the Anfield line up, I might have better luck with lottery ticket. ;)

  40. Briggsy says:

I really can’t wait for our defence to finally settle down. We’ve had 10 different combination of defenders in the 12 games we’ve played. Get cleverly back to the form he was in and maybe we could get back to like how we played at the start.

    Lindegaard
    Smalling Vidic Evans Evra
    Valencia Carrick Fletcher Nani
    Rooney Welbeck

Think he’ll rest Young and Anderson for Sunday… for some reason

  41. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

I never post nor read the blog during matches, makes me sick as well…. Thought about giving up several times but I keep coming back… Love this place for the mere fact that we get together as fellow reds and have a chat. Idiots should never drive us away buddy, hope Kings will be back… The majority here are well thought reds and we will keep it that way…

wayne – comin to the hood bro? hahahahaha

  42. Clint-iamyourpapii says:

when is the oletul game? 6;30 or 7;45 ?

  43. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Papii, 7:45. Will be tough finding a stream, but this game is as important as any other on tonight.

  44. Briggsy says:

    @CedarsDevil

I know what you mean about live matches. You just see loads and loads of posts slagging of whoever is maybe not having a barn storming game and low and behold, like all United players, that player will pop up and score an important goal. Annoys me more than anything, apart from standing on a plug, maybe

  45. King Eric says:

Cedars – I know mate. I keep vowing to stay away but just get drawn back in. Like we say though pal cannot bring myself to read after matches. Some of the bile and knee jerk reactions are laughable.

  46. Briggsy says:

    @Balaji Sivaraman

There’s a couple of streams already planned. Problem is, like you said, won’t be many around so that they’ll be tonnes of people connecting to the few which will slow it all down.

  47. Briggsy says:

Hoping for Benfica and Basel to draw and us to win by more than 1, put us top of the group on goal difference. Would be better if they drew both games while we beat Galati and go 3 points clear

  48. CedarsDevil says:

    Briggsy

    Well said!

    King Eric

If great posters like yourself were to leave along with Kings and co then this blog will become tasteless….. Morons will always exist however we should never let then drive us away

  49. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Like I said after the Basel fiasco, it is in the nature of Manchester United to put themselves in the toughest scenario possible. Of course, it is also in the nature of Manchester United to come through that scenario with flying colors. We wouldn’t love this club if they made it all easy for us fans. (Mind you, I hope they do make it easy for us, but I don’t expect it to happen.) In this case, I fully expect us to win the next four games on the trot and make it out of the group in top place.

  50. badger says:

I don’t know about you blokes but I find the group stages of the CL extremely boring, we should be able to win tonights game without breaking sweat with all due respect to the oppo (rated the 173 best team in Europe behind the likes of Aberdeen and Pompy). We’ve made it hard for ourselves being so complacent against Basel, another pretty mediocre side, but I expect nothing less than a comprehensive win tonight and in the home game.

Couldn’t give a fuck who lines up for us as long as they come in and do the business, come on United!

  51. philco says:

Off Topic i know but Sky have just reported that the bitters have a skip set up at the wastelands so fans can ” trash their Tevez shirt”

They dont report what you can do about Tattoo’s though.

    Thank God I’m RED

  52. King Eric says:

” Annoys me more than anything, apart from standing on a plug, maybe” Ha. Quality. Now THAT is fucking annoying.

  53. King Eric says:

Thanks Cedars. Likewise. Keep it up pal.

badger – Boring? That aint the word mate. I have no time whatsoever for the group stages. Glad to be honest we need the win, makes it more exciting. Waste of fucking time. Turgid matches 99% of the time. Funniest one was back in 99 with Barca and Bayern. That game where all us and Bayern needed was a draw to both progress. It was comical.

  54. CedarsDevil says:

Quality is what quality poster contribute to this place…. Without it this place would be crap but it isn’t

  55. King Eric says:

philco – Is that true? Fuck me.

  56. CedarsDevil says:

FUCK, had so many typos recently! Do forgive me gents :-)

  57. badger says:

I hear you King Eric, I would love the European Cup to come back in its old form with just the champions from their respective leagues competing over two legs, European nights were fantastic like that because us fans were constantly shitting ourselves! Totally agree about the need for a win tonight, it should make the match worth watching without the need for any amphetamines…

  58. CedarsDevil says:

King Eric & Cedars having a beer in a Manchester bar, in walks Barclay……

    Use your imagination fellas :-)

  59. philco says:

    King Eric, check out ssn.

Proper skip with bitters chucking their shirts in. Comedy gold.

  60. Briggsy says:

    @philco

With stories like that I do sometimes wonder if my entier day has been a dream as shit like that shouldn’t happen in real life!

Shame they can’t jump in there themselves while wearing the shirt.

  61. badger says:

Just seen that philco, quality! Outside Old Trafford too :-)

  62. CedarsDevil says:

“It was a very simple team talk. All I used to say was ‘Whenever possible, give the ball to George’” (George Best of course!)

  67. CedarsDevil says:

  68. CedarsDevil says:

“He (George Best) was able to use either foot – sometimes he seemed to have six.”

    Sir Matt

  69. DiegoForlanDK says:

I DO care how we win. We need to win in style and gain confidence. We started off so well, passing and tempo looking amazing. Cleverley out with injury though, and our midfield troubles of last season returned… when is he due back?

  70. CedarsDevil says:

“I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough.”

    Sir Matt

How can you not love this club?

  71. ididnotzeeit says:

Manchester United have an official baseball bat?!?!?!

    Dear Santa…

On Topic, come on you Reds! 3 points, no injuries and a clean sheet sound about right.

    Get’er done lads :)

  72. CedarsDevil says:

“In all modesty, my summing up of 1955-6 and 1956-7 must be that no club in the country could live with Manchester United.”

    Sir Matt (RIP Mr Legend)

  73. WillieRedNut says:

I miss suhayl! His rants were legendary. :)

  74. CedarsDevil says:

“If you don’t put them in, you can’t know what you’ve got.”

    Sir Matt

If this club is not in your heart you belong somewhere else

  75. CedarsDevil says:

    “Manchester is my Heaven.”

Best one of the lot by the great man……

    RIP Sir Matt

  76. Red Life says:

we’re fucked if we don’t win. It will certainly be a close call should we not.

  77. Saad says:

BIIIIIIIIG win for United…draw for Benfica-Basel

Cmon Reds! Get your groove back!

  78. Zibbie says:

Good day to be RED, as they all are. It will be all football talk for me today.
    3 point today
Sir Giles is back, how nice.

  79. Zibbie says:

    Huray for suhay!!!!
    Speaking of rants Hey Dave!!!!

  80. FletchTHEMAN says:

A confortable win with no controversy please. Hope we see all of the fringe players esp the twins and Berbatov. Also hoping for returns of Vidic and Cleverley.
After that, don’t much care how the line up comes on. Comeon boys. Put it away first half so everyone can be rested!

Off topic: In other news: talk sports is continuing to spread the lies about Evra stating that he has made allegations of racism against 3.

  81. Clint-iamyourpapii says:

Thanks Balaji, Dunno if its you but where have you been mate, your posting little of late. Glad you made your return.

If im addressing the wrong person  Bad Memory my bad

  82. RedDeviled Egg says:

I’m not always on board with what Arsene Wenger has to say but his quotes on City today are absolute class:

“If you compare what Arsenal have won and what Manchester City have won you don’t go to City to win titles. The players go to City because they pay much better.”

Something we’ve all known for a long time.

  83. NotoriousRedDevil says:

I doubt there will be any complacency tonight. Vidic is expected to start so looking forward to that. I think Hernandez may play, him and Wayne haven’t started much this season and think that will be the front 2 against cit-eh as well. I think we’ll win comfortably tonight Carrick should start as well and likely to be Tony V and Nani on the wings.

In other news – Stone Roses to play Heaton Park next June. Fucking get in!!!!

  84. WillieRedNut says:

Not sure about the Roses getting back together. Top band in their day, but sometimes you’re better leaving it like it used to be.

  85. Zibbie says:

No talk of the PL looking at no regulation. Maybe because people think it could never happen?

  86. FletchTHEMAN says:

@RedDeviled Errrrmmm, For me. that quote is just more of the same. Delusional

Wenger’s wins are fading from memory innit. Don’t look likely for this year or next either. LeagueCup maybe? LeArse not even much of a concern for top 4 and could be mid table if form don’t turn fast.

Nice to joke about City, but honestly. Arsenal?

Now this would be funny if it came from Notts Forest manager

  87. FletchTHEMAN says:

Speaking of Notts Forrest, anyone commented on the Managers comments on the question of locking out relegation? Very educated response. For me though, relegation and promotion battles are what make football a passionate pursuit through out the country. Everyone is invested from top to bottom. Puts bums on seats all the way till the end of the season. The logic that it will cause more investement is silly as well. If a relegation doesn’t scare an owner in to spending, then lifetime tickets to the executive suit surely won’t be a bigger push.

  88. Zibbie says:

Fletch, the gunners made the down turn 5 years ago when they lost the leaders of the looker room. AW will be in a dog fight for 4th this year, and have funneled enough talent to Shity were they keep some and used others and Shity are this year way better then the Gunners.

  89. King Eric says:

Off topic – Stone Roses reforming for 2 gigs in Manchester then a world tour!!

  90. Zibbie says:

I love the concept of promotion and demotion!!!

  91. Gerriered says:

    Hi fellow REDS,
am only hoping that we win comfortably tonight even if it is by just a single goal, but let it be comfortable. No injuries please……..

  92. Twisted Fatboy says:

    Evening Reds,

@ King Eric, I’d get tickets to an earlier scheduled gig, just to be safe…….world tour…… good God.

As for Tonight, I’d like to tonk them.

  93. Zibbie says:

1 and 1 half hour, will go by so, so slow!!!!!!!!!!!

  94. Zibbie says:

It seems Ravel has kept his nose clean, and took his chance last reserves game. Awesome.
Sounds like Tunni is doing good on loan.
    Come on Villarreal !!!
    COME ON UNITED!!!!!!

  95. Zibbie says:

I hate that I like the rentBoyz gaffer.

  96. Zibbie says:

Yes my work is done until 5 CST, I do everything around MUFC games anymore.
Looking forward to TC and Rafa being back.

  97. Devil310 says:

    Hmmmm…..Otelul Gelati!!!

  98. Costas says:

    Line up:

Linde – Fabio, Smalling, Vidic, Evra – Valencia, Carrick, Ando, Nani – Rooney, Chicha

    Couldn’t be any stronger.

  99. Costas says:

Our bench: DDG, Jones, Evans, Fletch, Owen, Berba, Welbeck

De Gea, Jones, Fletch and Young will be completely fresh for City which is good news.

  100. Zibbie says:

    Mr Kebab Thanks Mate!!!!!!!!

  101. Zibbie says:

THE CAPTAIN IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! GO VIDA!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabio and Tony to overlap with Rooney finding space with Lil Peas pace.

  102. Zibbie says:

Mr. Costas at the lake we made Moose and Bear kebas in your name. They were tasty!!!!

  103. Costas says:

You are welcome Zibbie. Yeah, I forgot what it was like to have Vidic in our side! Last time he played for us, I was 10 pounds heavier, it was still hot as hell in Greece and my hair was still grey. :)

  104. Zibbie says:

Smartalex hello, mate. I watch these hunting shows and there are a lot filmed in SA. I saw one last night near your home land. Hello mate. I’m sure you still read the posts.

  105. Fred says:

Very strong team. 8) We’ll win this with ease.

  106. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Costas – cheers for the line up. That is a strong team expected midfield and front 2 to line up as they did.

@ King Eric – Hello mate, you gonna go Roses concert in June next year?

  107. Fred says:

De Gea DROPPED AGAIN. Vindication for Paddy Barclay. ;)

  108. Zibbie says:

haha, my hair is getting more salt then pepper in it. My beard is grey in the goatee area and black ever where else. And I gained 10 pounds on vacation!!

  109. Zibbie says:

Fred you flint my stone and my funny bone!! hahaha

  110. filip says:

Hey guys i am romanian and I know otelul will be crushed …but still it will be a good lesson for them.Just think how would it be if otelul won …Lets say rooney gets injured or something =))

  111. Zibbie says:

    WWWWWWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAA, IT”S GAME TIME!!!!
The guy who does Family Guy is redoing the Filtstones, a more modern Fred!!!!

  112. Zibbie says:

I look like Fred Flintstone a bit!

  113. Fred says:

Yeah, I’m not happy about that, Zibbie. Some things should just be left alone…. and I HATE Family Guy!

  114. WillieRedNut says:

    Mr Costas

  115. Costas says:

Berbatov is also rested. For Aldershot.

    @Notorious

You are welcome. Maybe it’s because the Anfield and Basel games are still fresh in my mind, but I was astonished by how normal this line up looks. The 4 out of the front 6 started in our away wins at Chelsea and Schalke, so hopefully we will replicate that way form and not the Benfica game…

    @Zibbie

I see you had a productive summer then. Too many kebabs for you. :P

  116. King Eric says:

philco – Ha. Fucking idiots. You could not make it up mate.

  117. Fred says:

Costas – we need to keep him fresh with the big game at the weekend… yeah right.

  118. Fred says:

King Eric – the skips are the work of BetFred, I believe.

Fred I do laugh at Family Guy not a big fan, and feel the same RIP Fred Flintstone.
Costas like most in the US I eat way to much red meat, at 50 maybe 20 pounds in my colon they say.

Check out these comments. And they say they aren’t bitter or comical:

  121. King Eric says:

Red Devilled Egg – Great comments by Wenger.

  122. King Eric says:

Willie – Agree about Roses mate. Their time has gone. Ian Brown’s solo stuff is top drawer anyway and Mani is better off with Primal Scream. Top bassist. Reni was a superb drummer it was Squire I never liked despite him being a fucking good song writer and guitarist.

  123. Fred says:

    Never liked John Squire? 8O

  124. Fred says:

Saw this earlier on RedCafe, some scouse cunt must write for Neighbours: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs-oSNyJ8Ik

  125. WillieRedNut says:

King Eric – I like some of Ian Browns solo stuff. Top top band, but I’d rather remember them in their hay day. Mani is a top Red lol. Funny guy.

  126. King Eric says:

NRD – Hello mate. Got to haven’t I. Despite their time being twenty years ago wouldnt miss a gig of theirs for the world.. Tickets will be like Gold dust though.

  127. FletchTHEMAN says:

Chicharito and Rooney, very nice. Still no Cleverley :(

    Come on U Reds.

  128. soren says:

    3-1

  129. Fred says:

@FletchTHEMAN – Cleverley not even in the squad. Must be on his way to Arsenal with Pogba. :(

  130. King Eric says:

Fred – No mate, just summat about him I didnt like. Love Brown and Mani though. Both top reds.

  131. Fred says:

King Eric – gold dust? I hope it’s not Fool’s Gold!

  132. Fred says:

Well he’s an art student type, isn’t he? The Seahorses had a couple of decdnt tunes, I seem to remember.

  133. King Eric says:

Fred – Nice one. Its what the world has been waiting for.

  134. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ King Eric- Fair enough about their time, but if Steps and spice Girls can reunite have no problem with a band that can actually play music reuniting. Think its going to be one of those Where were you moments? Borrowing my mates laptop and parents phones for Friday. Think having 5 phones and 3 computer devices should increase my chances of getting tickets. No doubt the black marketers are thinking the same!!!

  135. Fred says:

    decent, that should say.

  136. King Eric says:

Fred – Yeah saw Seahorses years ago. Love is the Law and Blinded by the sun were decent tunes. Spot on about him being an art student type.

  137. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Also this Tevez skip shirt thing. Apparently you can exchange your shirt? Is that true if it is what for a replica or some crappy shirt? One of the lads I’m going to the game with on sunday has a argie troll shirt I’m ashamed to say. So if anybody knows the score would appreciate it.

  138. Fred says:

    Haha! Nice one King Eric.

  139. King Eric says:

NRD – The gig I never went to and was gutted was Spike Island. One of those seminal moments.

  140. MG says:

    Evening wonderful people

    Zibbie

I read that – the protocol is truly on it’s way ;)

Thank you all for this morning sorry haven’t been around been working all day

Let’s hope United get the job done quickly and timely subs and ready for Sunday

    19

  141. Fred says:

NRD, he still wears his Tevez shirt? Christ! 8O

  142. TonyBee says:

evening all…. just thought i would pop on to have a quick look to see who’s on here……

  143. Fred says:

I think we’ll win 3-0. Can see Chicharito scoring one or two.

  144. Fred says:

    Lindegaard with the other.

  145. TonyBee says:

last band I saw was Gary Glitter band……before it was discovered he had a computer filled with ….ahem….
not so very nice stuff…if you know what I mean….

and yes I am that fucking old ….before all you young cunts take the fucking piss….

  146. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Fred – No he doesnt. But if he can get a free one he will swap it, I told him to burn it one summer during a BBQ round his but wasn’t going to go through his things. That was the last time he got a name on the back of a shirt though.

  147. MG says:

    Watson

It’s okay us young ones need old heads for guidance

  148. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Tony Bee -Thats okay mate you can be still be in my gang ;-)

  149. Fred says:

NRD – I bet a few Rooney shirts were binned after what he did last October.

  150. mikekelly12 says:

    Evening gents.

Roses! Fuck yeah, I’ve been waiting 20 years for this reunion? One of THE best bands to come out of Manchester. I was one of the souls who watched the beach ball being bounced around Spike Island as the boys unveiled “One Love” to the masses. As far as I’m concerned they can have their time, again and again as long as they continue to belt out quality tunes! I’ll be on the blower friday morning but my brother is good mates with Ian Brown’s nephew and my mates wife is good mates with his sister so all being well I’ll get myself sorted! That being said would give them up in a heartbeat for a Manchester United (Like that MG, by the way, what does MG stand for?) win on Sunday and number 20 coming home in May!!

  151. Devil310 says:

I’ll have my Otelul Gelati with chocolate fudge, strawberries and some whip cream.

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm…..Otelul Gelati :D

  152. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

If you’re gonna start Berba, pair him up. Which is obvious since wayne will start. Rooney and Berba after such a long time? Not too sure. But really im not gonna go berbaboogey today. A win is all that matters

  153. TonyBee says:

ho ho ho …funny set of bastards…

  154. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Papii, No, you’re addressing the right person and I haven’t been posting as regularly as I used to in the summer. Just been a bit busy at work, so haven’t been able to dedicate the time I used to. Still reading the posts and replying as regularly as I can. :)

  155. WillieRedNut says:

City have introduced a singing section at the wastelands. Tevez got first crack, with that timeless classic, “All by myself”

  156. King Eric says:

mikeKelly – Hello mate. You were at Spike Island? You lucky man. Nice one.

  157. MG says:

    Willie

The second song will be Whitney Houstons classic

I want to dance with somebody – somebody who loves me

  158. MG says:

    Stone Roses

Is that like a limited edition chocolate box or something?

  159. Saad says:

The only lesson we dished out today was a lesson in keeping possession and defending. We were unimpressive in other areas. We have got to start making our possession count with nerve-wracking shots-on-target.
