Owen: I’m Dreaming Of Scoring European Cup Winner

Michael Owen has today revealed that the thought of scoring an injury time winner in the European Cup final at Wembley is his motivation this season.

“Even if it is just one goal or one good performance, everyone is going to play their part,” Owen said. “I was in the stand on Tuesday against Schalke. You are feeling sorry for yourself thinking I would like to be on the pitch or on the bench. Next to you is Wes Brown, who has dozens of England caps and John O’Shea, who has got even more for the Republic of Ireland. Darron Gibson is also an international. They are not even getting stripped. That tells you everything about the squad of players we have got. I suppose I am dreaming of coming off the bench and scoring the stoppage-time winner in the Champions League final. That is the motivation that drives me on. Every day I have to be ready and prepared to come in and do something.”

denton davey – A shield? He disappeared second half. If he hadn’t of scored, you wouldn’t of mentioned him. Modric controlled the midfield first half. He tired later on. Chelsea got on top, no disgrace in that. Bale and Lennon, were pathetic.

FUCK yet again chelsea get some of the worst referee decisions I have seen in a while, is it me ir are the officals trying to carry chelsea to the finishing line, allot of scousers must support this chelsea lot. And I thought last season the decisions chelsea got were beyond a joke, if we lose tommorow I could see this coming, fuck I am shiting bricks

Like I wrote earlier – that wasn’t my impression. I guess that we will just have to agree to differ -again.

Modric was very disappointing in creating any offence attacking play but he was OK in his defensive duties. He’s not my cup-of-tea and he did nothing to change my mind.

As others have written, Bale and Lennon were just dire while Van der Vaart – who often gets praised by some other posters because ‘arry bought him for seven or eight million quid from the RM clearance sales of Dutchmen – was even worse. His passing was atrocious, he never supported the lone striker, and the RentBoyz just danced around him for the whole time he was on the pitch. What a joke.

He helped us with a hat-rick against Wolfsburg so everyone has done their part in getting us this far.I’m sure he’ll get a run out against Shalke after SAF saw their awful defence.

I’m really pleased about his attitude and really wish he’ll be with us to the rest of his career, which I think will last for another 2 years or so. He would be a useful squad member for us, just like O’Shea and Brown.

That’s why we should keep Owen for another year. No fuss, no baggage and one hell of a player to have around in an injury crisis. He’s clearly enjoying just being at United so I think it would be a mistake to get rid of him.

denton davey – We see what we want to see, eh? If you ask any Spurs fan, they’d tell you Modric has been their best player this season. They watch their team every week I’m guessing, so what would they know.
