i am really looking forward to when owen gets fully sharp. I am looking at him at the moment and i get the feelign that he is just lacking that little bit of sharpness.
I do have a slight doubt in my mind that he could be struggleing and that the level he is at now is the max level he will get too. I hope i am wrong, but he does Keep mentioning His Past Goal Scoring record and relying in what he has done in the past.
However i am convinced that he will score goals. With the players we have id sort of love to see rooney on the left, Berbatov and owen up front and valencia on the right.
Owen will score goals, but he needs setting up. He needs a few players constantly looking for his runs and playing balls into his path. At the moment during games i am seeing him make tremendous runs and some of our players dont spot his runs. I think this will improve the more time owen plays etc!
Many people went happy when owen joined, but on reflection so far i have been reasonably happy! He hasnt set me alight but he is another quality striker that we can use when we need to. This is a quality that liverpool dont have! Torres is out and they bring on nogdog or what ever his name is!…

I think he’s done well so far this season, especially after the past 5 or so years he’s had. He never got a fair run at Madrid despite him banging in goals every week as a sub and newcastle must have been a nightmare for him to say the least.
I think we’ll start to see the best of him in the new year provided he gets his fair sure of game time. Love him or hate him the fella is quality without any doubt and nightmare to mark. We’ve already seen glimpses of it, the goals against city and barnsley where excellent goals. Just needs a bit more confidence IMO.

Off topic — But sometimes SAF confuses the shit out of me. I dont understand why Ctrl Alt De Laet is in the reserves squad, and not starting at LB tomorrow night. With Fabio and OShea both out, Project Pat is our only first team LB, so why risk him in a game that is virtually meaningless? He has been our star performer recently and I would hate to not have him in the all important Prem games because he gets injured against Beskitas. I understand not wanting to treat the Champs league like the carling cup, but come on, give ritchie a chance! I will be nervous as shit the entire game hoping that we dont pich up anymore injuries.

I think SAF had to make the choice of which young defender to keep between Jonny Evans and Gerard Pique as he knew he couldn’t keep two as backup to Rio and Nemanja.
