Park: I Might Not Retire In Manchester

With team mates Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Edwin Van der Sar all retiring this summer, Park Ji-Sung has revealed he has started to give own retirement some thought.

He joined the club as a 24-year-old, but six years later, and his contract set to expire next summer, Park has hinted he may not end his career with United.

“I won’t be able to show my best after one or two years,” said Park. “I don’t know how long I can stay at Manchester. I never thought about retirement but it’s obvious that I don’t have much time left as a player. According to circumstances, I might leave Manchester United and retire in another team.”

Sounds like he’s clearly missing some Kentucky fried Spaniel but my goodness he’ll be missed….

  2. Ryandunny says:

His contract is up next year so there could be a chance he’s sold this summer if he’s not offered a new deal.

Whatever happens Ji-Sung Park has been a wonderful servant and player for this club. And although he wasn’t everyones cup of tea when he arrived he’s proved himself to a true Manchester United player.

  3. dannysoya says:

as crazy as it sounds. I have to disagree with Park himself. I think he still has a shitload left in him to compete at the highest level. At least give us one more year of unrelenting energy on the pitch. And if you decide to go. Then i wish you good luck wherever you go and i hope you enjoy a great after-football life with your family.. You have been a great servant and like clayton said , you will be sorely missed.

  4. sergey says:

Park is a key player for big games, although the last one against Barca did not go well. He is just a key part for united and his never-ending stamina is something why he is so important. I hope he ll stay another 2-3 years

  5. Stenis says:

Reckon it would be amazing for him and the Korean people if he went home to Seoul and played a couple of seasons there.

  6. JONDADON says:

GOSH I WOULD MISS THIS GUY, BEFORE HE GOES HE NEEDS TO TELL THE BACKROOM STAFF WHAT HE EATS COZ HIS FITNESS LEVELS ARE IMMENSE, JI SUNG PARK = THE MAN WITH 10 LUNGS

  7. willierednut says:

Don’t take our Parky away!

  8. Zelh says:

There will be a complete new United in a few years.
So gutted to see all these proven players go..

  9. Rai says:

Give the lad some crack or speed see what happens….now there’s a thought

  10. Robbinhood Savage says:

If he leaves it will be a massive blow for us. Always been a very important player for United. I definetly hope he stays.

  11. Costas says:

Weird comments. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a statement by him to deny them. I don’t recall any player saying that he is close to retirement at 30. Especially someone with Park’s energy.

  12. Raizzen says:

He just had one of his best if not THE BEST in United shirt. And I agree with dannysoya on this. I will have to disagree with him too. He’s got at least 2 good seasons in him.

    C’mon Park!

  13. t says:

IF HE GOES WE DONT SELL NANI COOL WITH ME

  14. Costas says:

That being said, we should offer him a new deal.

  15. Ted Perechalli says:

Park has been a faithful Manchester United player and it will be up to the Manager to decide when, if at all, he leaves the Club, unless he decides to do so on his own. Keep it up, Park!

  16. RedPharoe says:

You will be missed… The best midfield engine we’ve got atm.

  17. man_utd_19 says:

Hope he doesn’t go anywhere :(

On another note, what’s with this ad that keeps bouncing tennis balls at my screen?

  18. Costas says:

Scott is busting our (tennis) balls. ;)

  19. Zulu-Malta says:

What ever you decide you will always have a special place in our hearts. I always dream to have at least another 8 players like you in our squad who will give their all for our beloved MAN UTD !!!!

  20. Rai says:

Those tennis balls are proper fuckin annoying.

Costas – I agree about Park being offered a new deal, it would be a shame if he wasn’t rewarded with an extension to his existing one year deal…..however – if the worst does happen, what are your thoughts (I know i’ve repeated myself again) on one of the twins, most likely Fabio, playing the roll Park does?

  21. Bishopville Red says:

This is such a non-story. A 30 year old player stating that he might not be good enough for one of the best clubs in the world when he’s 33. That’s breaking news?

In other news, Christmas will be on the 25th this year.

    SB

  22. willierednut says:

I don’t see Park going anywhere. He was one of the experienced heads now, along with Carrick.

  23. kouichi26z says:

noooo..i want him to retire at Man Utd.He deserves it!!to be amongst the best and with the other legends..
please park.don’t leave…if you want to retire, just stop your action at man utd..

  24. "GINGER PELE" says:

nooooo way we neeeed parky man great squad player can run all day very undereated imo

  25. bobkoh says:

Give Park a new contract Fergie! I reckon he still has at least 2 & a 1/2 lungs.

  26. LackyMUFC says:

His contract ends next summer therefore he makes a statement about his future. Standard issue these days, a new contract will be written up as we speak.

  27. willierednut says:

Park is worthy of another contract. He doesn’t bitch and moan, when he gets left out(Tevez) he gets on with it, beacause he fully understands the concept, of being in a squad. He probably sign one more contract, then go home.

  28. Samuel - united WE stand says:

When your game is based on running and high energetic displays, your performance starts To deteriorate, i think as park reaches the later stages of his career, i think the energy leaves which means he’ll have to adapt his game but i don’t think he is technically good enough to do that.

However he has being great for this club at the task he gets given, he’ll be missed but this club was not built on sentiments and it won’t continue based on sentiments

I think the dismal performance in the champions league final has given sir alex the idea of overhauling the squad, he is going to rebuild so some current players at the club will face the axe, park will be one of many.

  29. Samuel - united WE stand says:

@Rai – fabio da silva is a technically gifted fullback, not a winger or whatever jack of all trade ala o’shea you want him turned into, maybe ravel morrison could replace him, this is the perfect time to do that rather than getting in overrated one dimensional ashley young.

  30. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Oh, thank God, I thought I was the only one having those fucking tennis balls. Adblock Plus FTW though!

Park will not go in the next few years. But we’ll see what happens once he loses his energy. He is still extremely intelligent and can play a variety of roles but whether that will overcome his eventual loss of energy and running which are considered to be his strengths.

Anyways, I cannot see him leaving anytime soon. But the future, “God only knows.” ;)

  31. sandeep1878 says:

i cant believe a word he said..is it really him? is it really from the mouth of player who is SAFz favorite and who always plays a key role in big against big names?

i m okay with someone suggesting him to end his career in Seoul, but not to go there at the age of 31..

i would sy, it will be ideal to extend his contract for couple more years, till 2014, then he can move to his hoemland..

but whatever happens, i will always hold him high regards, respect and love..every UTD fan would..

Parky, u gotta park ur ass for triple more years at OT, u have the will do to it and energy is never concern for u :P

    SAF, sign him up

  32. man_utd_19 says:

The balls were quite entertaining for the first time… pretty cool ad and all that

But now they’ve become fucking annoying, appearing on every single ROM page… Could’ve at least been footballs and not tennis balls!

  33. Antipod says:

I think he can give us at least 2 more good seasons !!!

  34. williamk says:

    Samuel –
Even though I think Sir Alex prefers Fabio as a fullback you have to bear in mind he was converted from a striker and I believe if he’s needed to be he could be adopted into a defensive/workhorse winger. Not to say I think 100% that he will be but that he very well could be.

  35. Always Be Closing says:

man_utd_19: if you use Firefox, install Adblock Plus. Gets rid of almost all ads on the ‘net.

  36. man_utd_19 says:

    @ Always Be Closing

Thanks mate but I use Safari… will see if I can find some similar plugin

  37. willierednut says:

I was on safari once… Hated it. Fucking lions were annoying. Zebras were ok though…

  38. Homez says:

    Antipod

I concur, am sure he will get a one year extension, especially bearing in mind all the experienced players who have left/will leave this summer.

  39. The Fly says:

Maybe if he is serious about retiring he will be given a one year extension and then could leave in 2 years. Sir Alex has openly said that Ji is our most important player in the big games, imagine having that said about you, I wouldn’t want to leave.

  40. sandeep1878 says:

    hey people,

few people preferring footballs over tennis balls, thank god STR dint give the options to chose the balls the users want, i know what everyone would want :P

  41. Rai says:

Samuel – united WE stand –

Firstly, I want Park to stay and I think he will stay – his words have probably just been twisted by the media for a headline.

Secondly, I’m not trying to turn Fabio into a “winger or whatever jack of all trade ala o’shea you want him turned into” – i’m just saying better use and utilisation of the twins is an interesting concept.

Thirdly – Ravel Morrison is not going to replace Park – they’re TOTALLY different players.

Finally – Young is one dimensional because he plays left, right, middle, or behind the front man……I totally agree on the last point.

  42. willierednut says:

    Chicken balls! :)

  43. Danillaco says:

You see a guy saying this, and you know he’s an awesome professional. Thinking about retiring elsewhere because he may not feel good enough for United. Surely SAF loves him, and won’t let that happen.

Ji will get a new contract and retire with us. Where he belongs!

  44. willierednut says:

Big eck confirmed the young transfer is way down the line. Should be completed this week.

We love you too Rory. I actually really loved him to bits even before he became the dynamite he is now and before I knew we shared the love for United.

The winning mentality just runs from the club to the supporters I think. :D

  47. catotraa says:

The thought of him leaving scares me.

Please don’t sell my park, my ji-sung park, I’m guessing y’all understand!
And if you sell my Park, my ji-sung park, make sure to ship him to another land!

Seriously, if he leaves, I don’t want to see him fielding up against our team.. x) love him to bits!

  53. King Eric says:

samuel – Nonsense mate. Not one player covered themselves in glory at Wembley. Park will be going nowhere. As for his tecnically ability he is better than some give him credit for. Infact he is a very intelligent player. Fergie doesnt just rip teams up and start again.

  54. Zibbie says:

SAF will never do what hurt AW and the Gomers, he will keep experience, to teach the winning ways. The old guard will be Giggs, Rio,Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Fletch, M. Owen ect. this will be Rooney’s 8 th year with the club as well. Smile face here. I don’t know how to make them.

  55. HarambeeRed says:

    @Bishopville red, on point

  56. Costas says:

    @Rai

Hi mate. I’ve thought about your suggestion to play Fabio in midfield. It’s hard to tell. If Fabio played as a winger (like he did against Arsenal), then I think he would adapt. But central midfield is a different animal. You have to be more composed and know how to retain the ball well. I don’t think Fabio or Rafael can do that at the moment. Besides, with the team losing Brown and probably O’Shea, I feel that Fabio will be busy with one of the 2 full back slots. As for the midfield, I think we will need a signing to be our 5th person there besides Carrick, Fletcher, Ando and Cleverley.

  57. King Eric says:

What do those three little dots signify on alot of T4M’s posts? Any ideas?

  58. Costas says:

    Anyone for tennis? :)

  59. smartalex says:

The best way to get Scott to remove the tennis ball advert, is to make sure that you often click on adverts that you find okay. Then his ad manager will realize there is no revenue here with the tennis ball ad, and change it up.

Bookmark your current RoM page, Click on an advert whenever you want to refresh the page, and
then click on the bookmark. This costs you next-to-nothing, rewards Scott, and rejects irritating
    un-selected adverts.

I prefer that to the more common practice of blurting twaddle or spouting empty rhetoric.

    It’s the lessor evil, mate.

  81. Fred says:

Costas, they don’t have me by the balls. I just told you how to get rid of the ad. ;)

  82. Fred says:

Nothing against the country of Chile at all. I respect the likes of Ivan Zamorano, Marcelo Salas, Humberto Suazo and Snooki from Jersey Shore.

  83. Rai says:

Costas – I can see your point about the ball retention, but I think that probably applies to Rafa rather than Fabio, who I think is a little more composed. You’re probably right about playing as CM. On the wing they would probably be more effective on the match.

Hope John O’Shea doesnt go. There’s certain opposition where he’ll be more appropriate than a smaller full back. Plus with the experience of Van Der Sar, Neville and Wesley all going, it’ll be a shame to lose another senior player who has been there and seen it all. I’m all for having a young squad overall, but experience definately needs to be retained – especially when it comes to the latter stages of the season i’m sure the experienced players have a big effect on the dressing room.

  89. smartalex says:

Life is good, King Eric, thanks!

It’s my opinion that Park is very technical. His natural skills are good, but not at the top level.
He relies on his brain (speed-of-thought and reading-the-game), preparation (technical-understanding and fitness) and his endurance.

  90. Zibbie says:

From the gossip part on Man Utd web site.12:18 Now, now, now. This one would be a turn-up for the books. Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso? At Old Trafford? Mere fantasy, or a cracking rumour from Spain’s Cadena Ser? The Spanish radio station suggests United have put a blank cheque on the table and told Jose Mourinho to scrawl whatever figure he likes on it, in order to sanction the 29-year-old midfielder’s move to Old Trafford.
Now to leave for an hour or so, looking forward to TSO fix then.

  91. ClaytonBlackmoresTan says:

I think it’s a decent bet that there is someone/ something happening as I type this, of course there is- SAF will have a few irons in a number of smoldering embers just waiting to see what is the best option.

Add to this equation that Anderson really started picking up again at the end of last season, was unlucky to miss out against the Matalans- he must, MUST perform next season as I think he now realises that the class is nothing without application, he’s got a shed load of class and works his bollocks off n all now- go on lad.

Either way, am relaxed about all this, i’m checking every 20 mins to see who we sign but whoever it is will be ideal, abso-fucking-lutely bang on trend.

Sanchez is clearly a total fucking bell.

It hasn’t become annoying for me yet, but I’ll follow your advice if it does. It’s a ballsy move. :)

    @Rai

Maybe Fergie can try it out in a Carling game. I think he played Rafael as a CM at Barnsley last year. However, I’d give the twins about 2 more seasons of experience before we tried playing them as CMs in a competitive game. Until they get some calmness in their game and get stronger physically too.

You made a good point about O’Shea and it’s something that’s troubled me too. Fergie likes using him in games where his aerial presence comes in handy. He can still do that with Evans or Smalling, but I don’t know how much they’d offer as full backs going forward. Mind you, Smalling already has an assist to his name as a right back. ;)

Perhaps Ji’s inner tube is a little deflated. He should spend time on RoM.
There’s enough hot air here to resurrect his Korea.

  132. smartalex says:

I’d have gone to the bank if I wanted alone.

  133. indiandevil says:

Totally out of the blue, this comment from Park, i think he has atleast 2 seasons in him. Last campaign he was teriffic and now that he has retired from international duty, he can rest his body well. He has pretty much been our first choice winger for majority of big games, I can’t see why all of a sudden we would be willing to let him go.

Here’s something for you guys, United fans in awe of FC Barcelona, are we?

    http://www.thehardtackle.com/index.php/man-uniteds-corner-why-so-serious/

  134. smartalex says:

    LOL @ smartalex

  135. smartalex says:

    Thanks!

  136. willierednut says:

smartalex – When you went for alone, did you doublecheque, ya weren’t being followed?

  137. smartalex says:

The contract registration for Phil Jones has hit a snag. According to his mother, Diana Jones,
he has no birth certificate. The only way to resolve the proving of his origins is to get
    Indiana Jones.

  138. smartalex says:

I was following the Thompson twins. Or was that Thomson?

  139. willierednut says:

    That’s unusual smartalex…

  140. smartalex says:

Suspiciously unusual. Perhaps I was too verbal.

  141. willierednut says:

That headlines all wrong. He said, he want new attire in Manchester. Dressed to thrill, our Ji!

  142. PHZ says:

    @Bishopville Red:
25th December is Christmas Day only in western churches. In Orthodox Church it’s beginning of January…
    ;-)

  143. smartalex says:

Jones said: “I’m not sure when my first day is going to be. I have got to go home first, go on a few holidays and chill out for a little bit.”

  144. bchilds says:

Fair enough comment, seems Park doesn’t want the United fans to see him when he’s not at his peak.

  145. Dave Malaysia says:

@smartalex: PUT DOWN THE TUAK, UR LOSSING IT! when zulu man drink tuak he gets all uakki!

nice one though, what dia yr gf do to be lampooned like that?

  146. smartalex says:

I was just tuaking the piss, Dave Malaysia!

  147. Dave Malaysia says:

Thank God , some of you understand the culture at our club, your comments reflect it.

Fergie will want the seniors to run the team now to mantain our way of doing things.

So the seniors he has sorted out are Vidic,Evra,Darren,Carrick . I m sure that list will include Park,O’Shea.
Owen is another senior pro in the team but not the same exactly as the 4, I mentioned above,he has only been with us for 2 years. But his influence in the team especially the fowards has been crucial.

Wes Brown ,I wud like him to stay and fight for his place but have no idea whats in store for this kid.
Darron Gibson ,well ,thot he had something, media saying otherwise, have to wait and see.

  148. King Eric says:

I would take Xabi Alonso in a heartbeat . Just to give the young lads time to develop. A class player and a fantastic passer of the ball. Won’t happen though.

  149. Zelh says:

There’s no way he would join us. great player though.

Dunno if Diarra would help us.

  150. willierednut says:

Phils a good lad, certainly no rotten egg…

  151. smartalex says:

willierednut, Ji does want new attire. One on each foot. (see 18:03 ^)

  152. willierednut says:

    Xabi won’t be coming alonso.

  153. CedarsDevil says:

    Evening all true REDS

Nice to see my favorite place going nuts again and for one love it………. Also love to see smartalex talking to himself…..

As for Park, big game player probably one of the most tactical player we have at our club and that is why he always plays in the big games… I hope we will see him at the club beyond next year but if for any reason he leaves then he will never be forgotten

  154. Dave Malaysia says:

    Anders

    Vidic,Evra,Chris,Jonny,Jones,Rafael,Fabio

    Giggs,Nani,Valencia,Carrick,Fletcher,Anderson

    Rooney,Chica,Berba,Owen,Welbeck

The actual confirmed team for next season so far.

  155. byron1970 says:

I must say having watched a bit of the under 21 tournament recently I’m amazed we haven’t been hearing stories liking us with the Spanish lad Mata. I’ve been nothing but impressed with everything I’ve seen from him so far. Wonder why we’re not going for him as nobody else seems to be although I did hear of him being linked with Liverpool recently. Pretty useless post I know but I just thought I’d throw it out there.

  156. Costas says:

If it was possible, I’d rather spend 25 million on Alonso than 18 million on Lasagna Diarra. Like King Eric, I rate him highly.

  157. Zelh says:

I hope Fergie has some surprises for July 1st. neymar, hulk, pastore, sneijder, bale, heskey, bellion and seaman at least.

  158. fergie is the boss says:

Costas and King Eric – I agree iwth you guy, alonzo for me is the Spanish micheal carrick, the linch pin of the team, but like you say King Eric we wont get him, madrid would be crazy to sell alonzo.

  159. willierednut says:

byron1970 – Whats the mata, with juan?

  160. willierednut says:

Alonso is a cracking player, but we’ve the English version in Carrick.

  161. Dave Malaysia says:

Diarra so far has been a rolling stone, good player but never settled and never really shown any loyalty to his clubs, a little Anelka.

He can do a job for us but character wise wud Fergie want him? Me thinks unless Fergie has figured out the kid and how to manage the kid, Fergie wud be better trusting Jones to the task.

Alonxo story is what we eud call a journo inhaling his own shit fumes when sitting on the toilet bowl churning shit stories on his laptop.

So Valencia wud not be with us on tour of USA and may miss some of the start of the seaon, depending on how well Ecuador do in july.

Me wonders how Fergie felt when he saw the fixture list?

  162. Zelh says:

Dave – I bet Ferguson was like “football, bloddy hell. Good ol’ FA tries again”

  163. Cyril Sneer says:

Isn’t Lass Diarra the guy who failed at Arsenal, failed at Portsmouth (how?) and now can’t get a game for the virus? Doesn’t sound like United quality to me…

  164. Dave Malaysia says:

no mata what we no go fot hat hombre @willierednut!

by the way in the language here , ‘mata’ mean eyes. in the old days they use to say ‘mata-mata’

    meaning cops.

  165. byron1970 says:

willierednut – Seriously bud, I think this lad looks a really good player. I didn’t really watch a lot of Spanish football last season unless it was Real or Barca playing so I wasn’t aware of him. I know he played in both champions league ties against us but I don’t remember him making much of an impression.

  166. willierednut says:

Catch ya’s later lads. Cedars nurse has promised me a sponge bath. Now, wheres me ducky? ;)

  167. CedarsDevil says:

    Maya – Daddy….

    CD – Yes sweetheart

Maya – Have United signed anyone yet?

CD – Not sure honey, I will ask the question on RoM…. I am sure they will update me

    Maya – Thanks baba (dad)

  168. Oscar Madison 1000 says:

What Park is saying is admirable–if he can’t be at his best at United, he will move on to a lesser club (well, they’re all lesser clubs). Here is a class player who does not want to perform at less than his usual 110 percent. I hope he is not sold this summer, he still has so much to offer.

  169. smartalex says:

In some countries they chop off your feet if you lose.
It’s easy to spot the winners, they’re undefeeted.

  170. Park Life says:

1st comment, Kentucky fried Spaniel… ROLMAO shiiiieeeeeeeeeTa!!

  171. fergie is the boss says:

Dave Malaysia – yea someone like alonzo is the exact player fergie would dream of getting. Diarra I thought yes lets sign him, but we need someone who can keep the ball and move it which is obvious

  172. smartalex says:

CedarsDevil – be resigned to no sign of significant signatures til I signal.

  173. smartalex says:

… and that’s all Signor. Or as the scots say, Monsignor.

  174. CedarsDevil says:

smartalex – Duly noted my friend and message passed on, it was met with a sign of confusion on her face, but I will try my best to explain it. :-)

By the way where on earth is my good friend Kings? Hardly posts these days and I for one miss his write ups, especially the ABU rants

  175. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Xabi Alonso should’ve come to United a long time ago. Shame that such class has been wasted at two of the most classless clubs in the world.

Cedars, Kings and King Eric are like Special Ops guys. They will show up, beat the shit out of the wankfest on Sanchez, Diarra etc., then retreat back. That is, until the season starts, then they will show up in full force to beat the shit out of the ABUs coming on when we start winning everything. That is their MO I’m afriad.

Anyways, ROM is as crazy as ever. Time to join the party lads!

  176. smartalex says:

    Be afraid. Be very afraid!

  177. CedarsDevil says:

Have any of you guys heard of a player named Sanchez? Plays in the Italian league (No fucking clue which club) but I watched a 5 second video of him on youtube and he looks fantastic…

    I hope we sign him

  178. fergie is the boss says:

Balaji Sivaraman – I think fergie was not has street-smart has he is now in the transfer market, the ferguson now would have snapped alonzo up in a heart beat 7 years ago. His obsession on replacing roy keane clowded his judgement on the quality players on the market. Since 2005 fergie has gone from strength to strength in the transfer market

  179. CedarsDevil says:

    Balaji

Nice one buddy! Special ops, I like that hahahaha

  180. smartalex says:

CedarsDevil – Sanchez is his nickname, his actual name is Codswallop.

  181. MG says:

I probably won’t retire in Manchester either

    Evening fellow Red Devils :)

I would like to pose a very adult question and it has nothing to do with transfers

Why the fuck am I getting a tennis ball in front of this damn screen!

Do I look like I am Roger Federer? Do I?

Am I going to hit back?

  182. MG says:

Yeah you lot are special ops me willie Fletch and Costas we are the Black Ops

Another day in the ROM

  183. MG says:

Can we have an Ops fight?

  184. MG says:

Their is also such a thing called the X-ops but I am not privy to let anyone know because that’s an idea I’d like to sell one day :)

    So it’s not real

    Ok?

  185. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Who’s the President, Giles Oakley, he’s the most badass of them all?

You fuckers report to him remember.

    :P

  186. MG says:

By the way the reason I haven’t included smartalex is that he is Protocol leader

Stateside can be Protocol leader 2

    Giles can be Agency director

    This is fun :D

  187. Kings says:

CedarsDevil – I’m right here my good friend. I hope you are keeping well buddy.

Tell your lovely daughter that we have just signed Roy Race on a free transfer from Melchester Rovers.

Balaji Sivaraman – Evening mate. Now I will retreat back until the dust settles!

  188. CedarsDevil says:

    FITB

I would have to disagree with your last post mate….. You are making assumption that Sir Alex only got his transfer market skills since 2005…. Where does that leave the signing of Ole, the Great Dane, Cantona and even Keane himself to name a few? I would type a much bigger list of course

    MG

    Evening buddy

  189. MG says:

We need bad guys for our movie

  190. smartalex says:

I’m on top! Read all about it @op

  191. MG says:

    Evening Cedars ;)

  192. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Cyril is part of Operation Treadstone.

    Top Secret.

His main goal is to gather as much info on the ABUNati as possible.

Highly risky proposition involving infiltration and stealth.

People willing to risk lives – close contact with Dogleash, Burnstein – are welcome to join up with him.

  193. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Cedars and FITB, I agree with Cedars. The main reason we wouldn’t have signed Alonso at the time was that Scholesy was in his prime then. Now it is a different story. Sure, Sir Alex made lots of blunders then like Bellion, Djemba Djemba and Kleberson. But Rooney and Ronaldo were purchased during this time and look how they’ve paid off. It is safe to say Sir Alex’s gambles did not pay off them while they are paying off now with the likes of Hernandez, Smalling and Jones.

  194. CedarsDevil says:

    Kings

I am well my good friend…. I will pass on the message but you would have to address the obvious confusion on her face!

Keep posting away buddy, people like you make RoM what it is, i.e. a place worthy visiting all the time

  195. smartalex says:

… and TonyBee is on Operation Treadmill, and he’s losing it!

  196. smartalex says:

Restless is the head that wears the crown.

  197. fergie is the boss says:

CedarsDevil – what I ment was since 2005 we have had less verons and djemba’s and fergie’s ability to sign the best youth players in the game, from brazil italy mexico etc etc etc. He has also changed the style of players he brings, from power players he wants like he had with keane and went for players like carrick, when years ago he would not look for that type of player. But fergie had a slump in the transfer market between 2000 to 2004 where, he kept getting the GK situation wrong, trying to copy the roy keane type of player. Now fergie has made sure he is signing the right GK

  198. CedarsDevil says:

smartalex – TonyBee never had it in the first place, he is a prime example of a dumb fuck

  199. CedarsDevil says:

    FITB

Thanks for the explanation buddy….. Now I agree with you, that makes perfect sense

    Cheers

  200. MG says:

    TonyBee is not an Op

    He is Watson ;)

  201. fergie is the boss says:

Balaji Sivaraman – lets reword this, united’s scouts have been straightened out and revamped, giving fergie better and quality advice on who really are the cream of europe. Years ago our scouts were a hit and miss, but we have had such a hot streak in the transfer market since summer 2004. It is our best streak since the 90s

  202. smartalex says:

CedarsDevil – If these comments don’t wake the sleeping giant, nothing will.

  203. Balaji Sivaraman says:

FITB – Yeah mate, more hits than misses in recent times. So, I guess we all agree. :)

MG, Make up your fucking mind. You want to be Sherlock Holmes or Black Ops guy.

    You cannot be both.

    :P

  204. smartalex says:

As in – what’s on Tony’s treadmill then?

  205. CedarsDevil says:

They say ‘You never walk alone’ So who the fuck walks with you? Some sick dipper freak who will stab you and steal your wallet?

Thanks very much but I would rather walk alone

  206. smartalex says:

    Maybe he’s Shureblack Homes.

  207. MG says:

    Balaji

Writers can manipulate characters and settings as they so wish

    I am manipulating

  208. smartalex says:

They say ‘You never walk alone’ as you’d have to be a mental cripple to want to play there.

  209. MG says:

They’ve been walking alone for twenty years long may it continue

  210. TonyBee says:

    smartalex says:
… and TonyBee is on Operation Treadmill, and he’s losing it!]

oh no I fucking aint…..

  211. TonyBee says:

Manipulating….is that wanking for the posh….??

  212. TonyBee says:

Cunts the lot of you …wakening the sleeping giant….well giant bellied one ayway….

  213. MG says:

No Watson it’s writing as I want on an empty page without one single grief from anyone else

  214. smartalex says:

It’s a 68. You suck me now, and I’ll manipulater.

  215. MG says:

Oh boy what have we done we’ve unleashed hell on earth

  216. CedarsDevil says:

Whilst both TonyBee and I are both dumb fucks, he seems to have taken a step up… He gets them smileys right now and I do not….. Still a dumb fuck though!

    Evening buddy

  217. TonyBee says:

and as for you Cedars …you Lebanese shit-house…hope the fucking nurse gives you an ice-cold enema

  218. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Cedars, You’re not a dumb fuck mate.

Dumb Fuck – Liverpool and Man Shitty supporters. I looked up the definition on the Merriam-Webster dictionary.

So, as much as you’d like to boast, you’re not a dumb fuck I am afraid.

  219. MG says:

This TonyBee seems to be from another dimension.

  220. TonyBee says:

    Evening fellas…

just popped on for 10 mins or so ….

early starts at the abbatoir these days…..and at my age need me beauty sleep

  221. smartalex says:

    Evening Tonybee!

In your case surely only a beautynap is necessary.

  222. TonyBee says:

and another thing … what’s up with yellow balls…. not the tennis adds either

    ….i mean Park Ji Sung…..

  223. TonyBee says:

    I wish Smartalex…. anyway gotta go …toodlepip….

  224. MG says:

    Evening Watson ;)

  225. smartalex says:

    Ji’s running out of deuce.

  226. smartalex says:

  228. CedarsDevil says:

    Balaji

Thanks mate, I guess I am not after all! Just a description I like to use with my good buddy TonyBee

Interesting though about that online definition! Makes perfect sense to me

  229. Zibbie says:

Fuck I’m back to work on another marketing project. Back feels great after a night on the river in a bouncing boat. I will be training someone this afternoon in to the night. Some hundred posts to read. If this is a double pardon me.

    http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/man-utd-fast-track-morrison-promotion-real-madrid-barcelona-circle-1706381

Morrison to unravel defenses in his future. I guess he comes from the streets of Manchester. Hope he works with SAF and becomes great at Old Trafford.

  230. Zibbie says:

@Cedar no shots today!!! Cheers mate.

  231. Zibbie says:

At my age battles on the health front are inevitable, Cedars fights like a true Red. Believe, prepare yourself for success, and expect nothing less then success ! Virus be gone.

  232. willierednut says:

A load of ballbags on this thread! :)

  233. smartalex says:

    And now there’s a sackfull!

  234. WHAT ??? says:

That headlines all wrong. He said, he want new attire in Manchester. Dressed to thrill, our Ji!

haha, now thats some funny shit

Park, you my friend can do whatever the fuck you want Pal, I don’t think he could disrespect the shirt if he tried. If he feels he can go on playing, but he can’t go on playing at the fantastic level he’s shown us over the years , then fair play to his honesty. Its too soon for him to leave just yet, but when he’s ready he’ll be remembered and missed when certain big days inevitably go wrong… im sure. Top Top Player.

Spot on about Alonso btw, Diarra’s a name bandied about a lot for us for some reason and he’s not a exactly a bad player but 7 million more for Alonso would be brilliant business. You could compare him to Carrick, except Carrick has better defensive positioning, while Alsono hasn’t lost his knack of bringing the fall forward – all day long. Too bad its just fantasy, it would be worth it just to see him pick apart the Scousers Lol, and they fucked him about as well, so its not like he wouldn’t come.

@ FITB – Easy Mate. Since 2005? come on, Alex has been a dab hand in the markets before he even came to United Pal. Cantona? Teddy? Cole? Ole? Jaap? Rio? Theres some bargains in there and some Club records. He’s always been brilliant, if anything our Scouting has got better not him, and THATS due to his success on the pitch building up the Clubs Finances. Alex is unsurpassed in the markets , always has been as far as I can see. The only Wheeler and Dealer coming anywhere near a very very distant second is Ole Harry, and even he’ll tell you his record is no where near Ferguson’s.

Brilliant news about Sanchez, one less player to waste time even thinking about. Whoever we sign will 9/10 be gold or become gold. Top post King Eric about Young, United is not everyones first choice, MONEY IS, and when you consider the figures paid out for the likes of Henderson and our very impressive pairing of Smalling and Jones, we’ve got Young for a bargain considering he’s head and shoulders above those players in terms of his proven record in the Premier League. The boys scored more goals than anyone in our existing midfield since Ronaldo left – Young could have EASILY got more money talking to Liverpool and even Chelsea and City. What top 5 Club wouldn’t sign Young if he said he wanted to come? From what I read he had an agreement with the Villa owner since last year, and because Young kept to his word Villa are letting him go without a fuss. Don’t know about off him off the field but he’s shown genuine class wanting to play for Alex and Manchester United when he could’ve got more money elsewhere. Right now he’s the best English midfielder hands down and out the box no assembly required, and he’s a RED.

  235. WHAT ??? says:

    never mind the bollocks!

  236. Zibbie says:

The Poodle bites, the Poodle chews it.

  237. MG says:

This is not real none of it is –

  238. WHAT ??? says:

@ Zibbe – God willing Morrison beats his case mate, it would amazing if he got that call up, he;s not a Kid any more he’s 18, and based on the kind words Alex had for Balotelli, who lets face is, ain’t been caught riding round Manchester strapped, im sure Alex has big plans for Morrison. Might even help his case if there are reports that Alex is could be about to take him away from it all and on the road. He looks a fantastic prospect.

  239. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@What ??, Exactly what I’ve been telling mate. If Morrison gets more first team starts and becomes involved with the first team Manchester United and comes under direct tutelage of Sir Alex, then 99% of his off-field problems will go away. He will have to be focused and start learning from the best who are more experienced than he is. I don’t care if Ryan and Paul don’t make the cut this season, but if Morrison does, I’d be insanely happy just to see him not pressing the self-destruct button again.

    Anyways, Good Night ROM!

  240. soren14 says:

Challenge Goal: Manchester United – Rooney, Nani, Chicharito
    Enjoy!!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVTv75zddRU

  241. WHAT ??? says:

@ Balaji – I think he’ll turn it around, he’s got the best possible support network around and thats what normally keeps hi-jinxing posh youth out of prison for similar shit. Lucky for working class Morrison he’s a one in a million who has influential people around him to step in and take him out of the situation he’s in. Im sure now he realises it now he’s not a child anymore. He needs hard time in Carrington not HMP, and hopefully the Judge will use his discretion to ensure that happens.

  242. fergie is the boss says:

WHAT ??? – Like I said, its been the best transfer streak under Ferguson since the 90s

  243. ryanUnited says:

I can totally see these words coming out from Park. Park has been a loyal and humble servant for United for the past few years. Throughout the past few words, some fans might not have been able to appreciate him as much as he deserves but over time, we have seen his worth and he has proven himself as an every bit of a Manchester United player whether in terms of footballing capabilities or his mentality.

He is making this comment out of his selflessness. He doesn’t want to stay in United when he doesn’t have the ability to do so anymore. He doesn’t wanna be a liability to United and thoroughly understands that the day will come when he will need to step aside for the younger talents.

  244. smartalex says:

    Great comment ryanUnited!

  245. glee says:

park never said this. this was from the mirror but the only interviews he has given since the end of the season has been to korean press when his charity foundation played a charity game in vietnam on 6/15. even in those interviews he said he wanted to retire at manchester.
