PICTURE: Blind wins Player of the Year in Holland

Daley Blind was tonight awarded with the Golden Boot, the prize given to the Player of the Year in Holland. Louis van Gaal was also at the ceremony.

His father, Danny Blind, played for Ajax and won the Golden Boot in 1995 and again in 1996. Danny is the only Dutch player to have won all international club competitions recognised by UEFA and FIFA. Here’s to Daley following in his footsteps!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really pleased to have him.
But I wouldn’t read too much into the player of the year award. Remember that Kagawa won the German one, and Mata won it at Chelsea….

    Well done to Danny Blind!!

I think most people on here are under estimating Blind’s abilities as a footballer. He might not be an all action box to box player like Vidal but his touch, reading of the game and passing is excellent. Besides, he’s very versatile too. I’m certain he’ll be able to help plug the holes that are currently appearing in our defence and help turn our underwhelming performances around. He’ll contribute enormously to the team’s success this season.

    I mean Daley Blind
