Fernando Torres was guilty of two dives in the last night but the referee chose to only book him for one of these.

On top of being let off for one of his dives, Torres should have seen a straight red for raising his hand to Rio Ferdinand’s face.

Michael Essien and Ramires were also lucky to remain on the field, after both getting away with making late and dangerous tackles on Rooney. Essien’s foul on Rooney in the opening couple of minutes was particularly nasty but the ref missed it.
